Enjoy the convenience to easily stroll downtown Saranac Lake for dining and shopping via the Adirondack Rail Trail right behind the building. The rail trail is currently completed for 25 miles and is truly an amazing area amenity.

Whether you are visiting friends or family, or coming to adventure outside in the woods or on the water, or for a work trip we have you covered: A sweet space is equipped for preparing simple meals or snacks with a compact refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker and other kitchen essentials. There is a small deck with a table, chairs, and cushions to sit outside during the warmer months. A secretary's desk awaits those needing a dedicated work space. The Hideaway's ensuite bathroom has a 32" shower stall. Bath essentials are provided including towels and washcloths, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, and hair dryer. This rental is in the rear of the owner's home with parking a few steps from the private entrance. The Village Nook, a full garden level, is also available through VRBO/Expedia Partners.

Mary and Kevin are available whenever needed via text or phone and are usually quick to reply. We are glad to meet our guests but its not required since we provide self-check-in. You'll find a guidebook in the room with the hosts recommendations for dining and outings as well as brochures and maps for area attractions, trails and waterways.

The neighborhood
The Village Hideaway is conveniently located a short walk to downtown Saranac Lake and its shops, cafes, restaurants, and artist galleries. The building behind the home is Bluseed Studios, featuring art exhibits, workshops, plays and live music. Across the street kitty corner is a small park with a tennis/pickleball court and basketball court. Guests have found the convenience of stores located across the street: Dollar General, Aubuchon's Hardware, Kinney Drugs, a Wine and Spirits shop, and a bicycle and snow mobile rental shop. Less than a mile away is the towns’ municipal beach, park and picnic area at Lake Colby - a lovely spot to watch the sunset, and a boat launch on Lower Saranac Lake, which gives access to the spectacular Saranac chain of lakes. Behind the building is the new Adirondack Rail Trail where you can walk, bike, cross country ski or snow mobile for miles! 25 miles of 34 is currently complete as of Fall ' 24. The remaining nine miles is slated to be complete Fall ' 25.

The driveway was a little to find at first and tricky to navigate but not an issue and it allows you to drive right up to the cabin which was super convenient. However I can see why it is not in use during the winter months. The cabin itself was better than the pictures and well appointed. The complimentary bottle of Prosecco was a really nice touch. The bistro table set on the deck made relaxing outside that much more enjoyable. Even though the weather wasn’t great during our stay we still enjoyed the hot tub which was a big selling point for us and overall had a wonderful stay. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to use the kayaks etc. but they were neatly available right by the water along with life jackets. We will definitely be back…"

Moose cabin is directly on Lake Colby and has its own charcoal grill, picnic table and Fire pit with Adirondack chairs outside. Each of the 4 cabins on the property are approximately 25 feet from the next with trees separating them. Guests can enjoy our private beach and dock and use any of our seven boats to partake in fishing or just enjoy the beautiful lake.

Moose cabin has two Queen Bedrooms, a Queen sleeper sofa futon in the living room. A small crib is located in one of the bedrooms. This cabin can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children maximum. The sleepers sofa can accommodate less than 120 pounds for sleeping purposes. Please do not book this cabin if your group exceeds our capacity. Moose also has two full bathrooms, one of which has a Jacuzzi tub.

Moose has a fully stocked kitchen including spices, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, crock pot, teapot, blender, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, dishwasher, drip and Keurig coffee machines. Fresh towels and linens are provided.

This cabin is a 2-minute walk to the public beach and a 1-minute drive to the public boat launch.

Mt. Pisgah is a 2-minute drive where one can ski, snowboard and tube.
Whiteface is a 45-minute drive.
Titus mountain is a 45 minute drive.

During boating season, guests can enjoy our private beach and dock and use any of our 9 boats: 2 row boats, 3 canoes, 3 full size kayaks and a child size kayak. Lake Colby is known for it's excellent fishing of : rainbow and brown trout, salmon, largemouth and smallmouth bass. Maximum 10 hp motors can be used on this lake. Boating is available on our property between May1st and October 31st unless water temperatures are unsafe.

Lake Colby is part of the greater Saranac Lake Community, which offers many tourist attractions, including hiking, snow skiing, zip lines, golf, and amazing food. Saranac Lake is surrounded by some of the most scenic hiking trails on the East Coast.

Let us know if you wish to book one, two, three, or four cabins. We book all 4 cabins together from the third week of June through the last week of August with check-in and check-out on Saturdays.

We welcome dogs less than 80 lbs. We have a pet fee of $100. Pets must be cleaned up after returning from outside and crated if left alone in the cabin. Kindly share the breed with us when booking.
