- "Tim and Paula were so great. Very friendly and gave us recommendations for dining options and local activities. We had fun chatting with them over coffee in the morning while they prepped breakfast because we are early risers. We enjoyed the game room playing air hockey and cards. The pool table on the main floor was so much fun as well. So many rooms to enjoy on the main floor with books and tvs and sitting areas. We had fun playing the “Find Bernie Sanders bobblehead”. Trevor and Jessica were so nice and we got to meet a couple of their dogs, Minnie and her tongue was adorable. Trevor made the best pancakes. We definitely will stay here again, and are planning on booking all the rooms with our family and friends to enjoy for a getaway with us. Highly recommend The Ellis Inn! Burlington bike path starts about 1/4 mile from house and the bike ferry is also accessible. Pets are on a pre-approval basis. There is a pet fee and pet rules. With enough notice for an additional fee we can sometimes accommodate you with space for your boat either on a mooring or on the dock.

Plenty of onsite parking. Sports include chess/checker iron + glass table outdoors, badminton and basketball courts, cornhole tossing, labyrinth, and 2 State Parks within minutes with beaches, kayaking, cross-country skiing, etc. Multiple downhill ski areas, hiking trails, mountain resorts are within a short driving distance.

- "Very impressive gardens. Host met us and walked us through the property. We spent 14 days in this is a very comfortable studio with a skylight that kept it bright and cheery. A nice, screened porch where we enjoyed out coffee every morning then wandered through the multitude of paths in the 1.5-acre garden area with water fall and pond, gazebos, and fire pit sitting areas . We had friends over and they summed it up perfectly that it was like a “theme park”. The host checked with to see if we needed anything during out stay. - "We enjoyed being in the quiet rural area but still close to Burlington. The residence was pleasant and well equipped. The only caveat was that the stairway to the 2nd floor bedrooms was very narrow and steep and both bathrooms were on the 1st floor. Also, the modem for television and internet were located in the adjacent duplex and we had no television or internet access even after contacting Vacasa. It was not a problem for us, but would be for some guests."

Access to the water is by going around the side by the owner's property, and there are chairs by the lake as well. The owners, Dave and Renee, are the most amazing hosts. They were so welcoming and always available to help us out or give information when needed. Wonderful people and they really made our stay top notch. Their dogs and cats were an added bonus, as we love animals, so that was fun. It is an extremely peaceful & quite area, and a perfect place to unwind. "

- "This accommodation was beautifully clean (thank you!!) and newly updated. It was decorated nicely and had most everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable (firm in the principle bedroom, slightly softer in the bunk bedroom). Just to know: there’s no dishwasher, so expect to hand wash dishes—not terrible at all. We loved the ceiling fans in the bedrooms. We arrived on an unusual and extremely scorching day across most of the Northeast, so the cooling of the second floor, which probably is handled a.o.k. on a typical late June day, with shared A/C unit and/or open windows, didn’t work. While this may have turned some paying guests away, we very much appreciated the great lengths the host went to, to help us break the heat upstairs. Her constant communication and attempted sourcing of a solution was above and beyond—we were blown away. She trusted my husband’s construction and home building skills to put a fix in place, and not many hosts would have allowed or trusted the guests to resolve the problem like that. I get it—folks have been burned on both sides. She bent over backwards so that we could enjoy our brief stay, and it worked. The neighbors were quiet and did not impact our stay. Thanks for the hospitality!"

Living Room Space:
Your private living space offers two comfortable couches. Curl up on the couch and enjoy our electric fireplace. Room darkening curtains provide privacy.

Your cozy private room has a queen size bed and is beautifully decorated with a warm comfy feeling. There is plenty of natural bright sunlight. This room has a bathroom located right outside the bedroom door. We are located in Colchester which is a bedroom community of Burlington. It's a very private area with no neighbors in site. It's very quiet except for the peepers at dusk. We have about a half acre pond in the backyard that is visible from your room. We also have an outdoor patio with a table and chairs that you're welcome to relax on.

We also have another bedroom that has a queen bed and sleeps 2. This is good for families, 2 couples or singles traveling together.
We have one small dog, he is a HavaMalt, which is half Havanese, half Maltese. He does not shed and he's very friendly and loving, no other pets.

Welcome! We are located on Main Street in Colchester. A couple of blocks away The Scoop, The Spanked Puppy, gas stations, Colchester Pond, and the library. Just 10 minutes away is Costco, Shaws, CVS along with local breakfast dinners and fast-food restaurants. Williston is up the street 20 minutes away where you can enjoy some shopping and grab a bite! Winooski Circle offering some lovely views of the Winooski River with fine dining options, bars, and great craft beer at Four Quarters Brewing.

This is a home that has been a part of Vermont and it’s history since the 1840’s! Its in the heart of the Colchester Village and it is full of charm. The unit has new carpets and furniture, and as time goes by, we hope to keep adding more locally sourced trinkets to make it come to life.

Everything works as it should, but there is always room for improvement. Don’t forget to leave us a tip or two in our suggestions box!
