- "This was a wonderfully cozy house with plenty of space for our large party. It was also conducive to our gatherings of game nights or wine nights on their living room sofas. The beds were comfortable. One thing is that the stairs to get up to the top of the house are very steep. Fine for young groups but elderly might want to be cautious, even with the railing."

- "Rented the 3BR which was perfect for a friend and I, and would have been comfortable for 6 easily. 15 min walk downtown and 30-35 to Stowe. Would recommend!" - "I spent two days with my kids (18 and 20 years) at Beth's place and had great time! Very conveniently located in Montpelier, allows for easy access for a bunch of ski resorts as well as the convenience of being in a city with good restaurants. Beth was just fantastic from the minute we booked the house. She waited to show us the house, which is very convenient for a group (3 spacious bedrooms). We had no trouble at all and really enjoyed our stay at Beth's place, and she checked in daily with us to make sure everything went well. I would highly recommend Beth's place!"

- "We loved the location of the property. It had beautiful vistas and was very conveniently located to downtown Montpelier as well as for exploration of that area of Vermont. Beth was very helpful with suggestions and very responsive to our questions." - "Really nice place and location. Thank you !" - "Very nice stay and Beth was fantastic in every way." - "I stayed for about 10 days in June/July of 2019 in the small apartment above the garage. It was just me for most of the time, but my partner joined me for a few days. It was just the perfect size, and could accommodate more (maybe 3, or two couples who are good friends, or a small family) since there is an additional small comfy bedroom with a door separating the studio-like space. There is a full kitchen, equipped with much of what you need to cook and serve meals. Since it was summer, Beth provided a portable air conditioner that kept the space lovely and cool. The big picture window near the kitchen welcomes the day with a pleasant view. There is a couch/bed in the main studio space and a comfy chair and barstools at the counter space. I was very comfortable and felt at home in the space. If you're considering staying in the apartment, I would say GO FOR IT. Beth is delightful, Montpelier is lovely, and the space is quiet and comfortable."

We would stay there again for sure!" - "We had a wonderful stay at Beth and Bob's place in Montpelier! The home was easy to find, and was clean, cozy, and had absolutely everything we needed. It's located on a lovely, quiet street, and just a nice walk away from the downtown area. Beth and Bob were extremely gracious and communicative hosts. Despite living only an hour away, I wasn't too familiar with downtown Montpelier, and Beth was so helpful in providing suggestions for places to visit, eat, and grab a drink. We had a great dinner at Three Penny Taproom and delicious gelato at Chill. Beth had so many wonderful suggestions that I think we'll need to make another trip back soon! :)"

- "Clean, spacious home. Family had a great time. Easy drive to downtown Montpelier." - "A long-awaited get-together of high school buddies and two wives (total 5 people), along with two pups. House was exactly as described, and really beautiful. Close to Montpelier center, which has great shopping and restaurants. We also went glass-blowing (20 minutes away), and the menfolks went on a great hike with the pups. The management company was very responsive to a relatively minor household issue (top bedroom heat baseboards were not working) - they sent a specialist out, who fixed it in short order. Would love to stay here again."

- "This was our first family vacation to Vermont, and we chose River St House duplex in Montpelier as our base for a week of hiking and scenic drives. It worked out great! The property was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. It is about 1 mile from the small downtown area where we ate breakfast and dinner, and about 1/2 mile to an organic food co-op where we found pre-made sandwiches and deli foods to take on our hikes for lunch. Our host was very responsive to our questions about the property so we knew what to expect when we arrived. In addition, she quickly provided access information on my cell phone when I had trouble receiving it from the Vrbo site. A small electric heater in the living room was enough to keep the house temperature comfortable in the early fall weather, and small fans in the bedrooms provided some air movement and white noise to mitigate occasional sounds from traffic and the neighbors. We slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our first vacation to Vermont!"

- "The problem wasn't the place itself, it was an old farmhouse that wasn't fancy but it was a good location with 3 bedrooms. The problem was having a 4 pm check-in and arriving at 4 pm and finding all the beds unmade, used towels still lying around, then having to use SMS text to communicate because the phone tree doesn't work and get you to a live person. The "local crew arrived at 8.30 pm and was pleasant, said we would receive a credit for the service fee, looked at CC, and of course, it's there, so have to dispute that now. Prefer local hosts and not corp-owned places. So now will have to deal with credit card company, after wasting time texting them, and sending pictures because they couldn't get a place cleaned by 4pm, but they have no problem charging you for the whole day."

A complimentary continental breakfast is included.

Great X-Country ski area + short drive to downhill slopes in Stowe.

Arrival times are important to me to plan my schedule. Delays happen so please update me if your plans get changed through traffic or flight changes.

Bathroom is on ground floor - Bedroom is upstairs.

The space
Vermont offers 4 Season activity for the active traveller who wants to get away from the hustle of City life. Plenty of protected parkland for beautiful walks and lots of opportunities to get out on lakes with a kayak.

The Fall season is often spectacular and is a very popular time to visit the area. Vintage car & motorcycle enthusiasts can also enjoy a number of special events during the summer & early Fall with the annual 'British Invasion' antique car rally in nearby Stowe in September being one of the most popular events. There are also two major Hot Air Balloon Festivals in the summer months.

All forms of winter snow activities are catered for from downhill to cross-country, snowmobiling and snow shoeing and even ice-sailing on Lake Champlain in nearby Burlington.

Guest access
Fresh linen, towels & facecloth is provided. Basic toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste,) is available in the shared bathroom for guests to use or you may bring your own. There is also a hairdryer and plenty of information about local places of interest/maps etc.

Single travelers or couples will sleep in the Queen bed. This room can also be provided with a comfortable fold-up bed so can accommodate 3 people if desired as a 'family' room or to allow two single travelers to sleep in separate beds. I do not have a crib but if you have a travel cot this would comfortably fit in the room.

The bedroom has secure access with your own key.

There is also a Keurig coffee maker and cups in the room along with a 32" TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime connected for use during your stay.

During your stay
I enjoy interacting with my guests although my work schedule can be demanding at times. However, I shall be available to ask questions when you arrive and get you settled in. I also provide you with my cell phone number so that you can always contact me during your stay.

Other things to note
The shared bathroom is downstairs and while there is a nightlight to provide for safe movement in the night it is worth noting that the bathroom is not on the same floor.

Winter parking is catered for in the City as your car must be off the street between 1 am and 7 am each day between November and April. The winter parking area is just a 5 minute walk from my home so this is not a major issue.

Please state your likely arrival time when you book and let me know any changes at the earliest opportunity.

Miles Court Downtown Montpelier
Apartment
Montpelier

Curious about what makes the Smallest State Capital so amazing? Come stay at Miles Court named after Anne G. Miles in the 1890's.

This is a newly renovated space combining late 19th century charm with modern conveniences.

Right in downtown Montpelier there's no need to drive to enjoy the multiple restaurants and entertainment. Plus we're 30 minutes from all the skiing. Were centrally located in the heart of Vermont.

The space
This is a renovated 1 bedroom space by a couple with 35 years of experience in hospitality industry including owning an award winning restaurant in SOCAL, Airline international purser and hotel development. Based on our extensive world travel we tried to create an asthetically pleasing and architecturally interesting space that could be found in NY, Paris or Montreal. Enjoy our 900 sq ft modern apartment that preserves the old world charm of the 1830's building with touches like a newly installed tin ceiling and antique fixtures as well as brand new furniture and efficient appliances. Enjoy the new Samsung Q60 55" smart television connected to a fiber optic wifi. There is a washer/dryer, four different ways to make coffee; Miele espresso, stove top espresso, tradition coffee maker or a french press. The day doesn't start without caffeine. All the art in the space has been collected during our travels around the globe. The lighting fixtures and bathroom/kitchen finishes are from Restoration Hardware, painstakingly recreating the victorian era. This is a bright quiet downtown aptartment within a two minute walk of all Montpelier has to offer.

We just upgraded the internet to fiber optic and are testing at/over 900mpbs download/upload

Guest access
It is a one bedroom apartment with guest only access.

Other things to note
There is one “off street parking” spot available. It can be confusing where to park. We are having guests park next to our house (painted black). You then turn around to the green building and enter through the blue door.

Apartment

Only 30-40 minutes to Stowe, Bolton, Sugarbush, and plenty of amazing Nordic trails, the space provides a welcoming retreat after a day of skiing, hiking, or biking. If biking is your thing, the apartment backs up to the Cross Vermont Trail, and is a great jumping off point for adventure. The apartment is also a short (10-15 minute) walk to downtown and all the shops on Main and State Street.

The space
The apartment is located above Green House Pottery, a working ceramics studio and gallery. The apartment is located on the top two floors of the building, with the kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom on the first floor, and two bedrooms on the second floor. In addition to the two beds upstairs, the living room also features a queen-sized sleeper sofa.

The apartment has heating in each room, an electric fireplace, and plenty of blankets, but It can get chilly in the Fall and Winter (and Spring) so we recommend that you bring warm house shoes if you are traveling when the weather is forecasted to be chilly.

In addition to the interior stairs leading to the bedroom, please note that you must climb exterior stairs to get to the apartment, as well.

Other things to note
I am a potter, and many of the details you will see inside the apartment (including the bathroom floor tiles, the kitchen backsplash tiles, and all of the serving ware) were made by me. These pieces are meant to be handled and enjoyed, so please make yourself comfortable and if you are traveling with kids, don’t worry. Porcelain is surprisingly strong, and meant to be lived with—not tiptoed around.
