- "Had relax, facility with boat, kayak and swimming at non commercial campground, along river." - "Start off by saying that my son got bit by the owners dog while at the office so watch out for that. For the hot showers they put in the description is just one shower in the cabin that the owners stays at which was weird. No electricity no running water. porta pottys and out houses stunk. The campsites are super small and Rocky so be prepared to trip all over rocks and have a hard time finding a flat spot to put a tent. Canoes and paddle boats are junk not worth using. Paid for 4 nights only stayed 3. Won't be back again"

- "This lovely renovated boathouse delights with gorgeous views of Tupper Lake as well as creature comforts. It was perfect for our group of 4 (2 couples). The Adirondack themed furniture was a cut above in comfort. The kitchen was likewise better equipped than most rentals we have stayed in providing everything needed for preparing meals. We would definitely consider renting The Boathouse for future stays." - "The cabin was the perfect setup for boating. It was great being able to park my boat under the cabin out of the rain and weather. The owner was very accommodating and responded to all our inquiries. The cabin came equipped with all basic necessities, and the decor was quintessential Adirondack style. So much care and detail was put into decorating the cabin, and it made for a truly memorable vacation. Our family enjoyed one full week of boating and fishing on the lake. There is a huge fire pit that our boys used to make s’mores. We took a few trips to town for donuts at the Washboard and ice cream at the Skyline. We loved being on the water, and enjoyed nightly visits from a couple of loons. We made a trip to nearby Blue Mountain Lake to visit the Adirondack museum. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

- "Full equipped Kitchen with plenty of downstairs space. Stayed in 3rd floor bedroom which was very comfortable, loved the moonlight through the window. 3rd Floor bathroom looked recently remodeled, loved the walk in shower. Used the like new Genesis Grill on the deck which was awesome. The only real disappointment was the state of the outdoor deck furniture. With a deck furniture update, at this price point, it would be in my totally awesome category."

We loved the deck, the kitchen, room for all and the hot tub. Life jackets for everyone. Room to spread out. Super clean, comfy beds, great! Even a high chair for us." - "This is an amazing house/property with a very thoughtful and attentive owner/caretaker. We cannot recommend it enough! My large extended family spent a week here in August. The house itself is excellent condition, very well-appointed, and completely clean. The view of the lake is breathtaking and visible from the large deck, porch, and many windows in the house. There are a lot of amenities, including a large and well-designed firepit, kayaks, canoe, dock, and game room. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood so very peaceful, but also near to the three towns in the area. The owner and caretaker were very easy to deal with and responsive to questions and issues we had. A truly remarkable vacation destination, we loved it!"

- "This is an amazing house and the pictures don't do it justice! We were celebrating a 90th birthday with 5 family units and 14 people. Walking in the house there was an immediate feeling of one of the old Adirondack 'great' camps. The house is immense and there are different 'wings' so there was privacy for each family unit. Most of the rooms even had sitting areas in addition to a bathroom. On the listing it showed a couple of rooms as a queen and two twins but it was actually a queen room, sitting area and then room with two twins which was perfect for our family that had kids. The kitchen was huge and allowed for many people at one time for food prepping/cooking/cleaning. To have two refrigerators and two dishwashers was amazing!! The game room was filled with so many games and the TV room next to the kitchen had at least a 100 movies! The library room and pool table was a favorite area at night for the adults. So many windows looked out at the lake which was beautiful. There was a nice fire pit and beach area with kayaks also. Craig, the owner, was very helpful with any questions I had and was a pleasure to speak to. I highly recommend this house to a big group- you won't be disappointed!"

If you MUST work, the upstairs bedroom/office desk lets your spread out, and get it done in the natural light. A second desk and community dining table on the main floor provide more than enough space for productivity.

Winter time: The Lake House is on a hill with a considerable driveway and we never know how much snow we're going to get in the winter, so if you are visiting in the winter you will need a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle and boots and/or Yak Trax! There are pictures in the listing. It is usually plowed in the winter, but is in a very remote location. Worst case scenario may require walking the driveway until plowman can arrive. Please CONTACT US with any questions.

Camera (motion activated, no sound) on the front of the house is aimed at the driveway so that we may monitor the snow/condition, safety, and pass-ability of the driveway.

Be advised: This camp is deep in the woods. You may see signs of Moose, mice, bears and bugs. We have hummingbirds just off the back deck, and a chipmunk who comes and visits on the deck. The house is on a hill surrounded by tall trees. If this is too rustic for your style, you may choose a home in a more civilized setting! Most of our guests love it for it's rustic authentic ADK setting, but you must make your decision knowing that this is a rustic forest setting in a beautiful lake community. Also, while your pets are welcome, (and loved) at our home and on our property, they are NOT allowed on community property, particularly at the beach.

Guest access
Guests have the use and exclusive access to the entire main house including 4 bedrooms, two baths, open kitchen/dining room/living room, Open deck and screened in porch, and unfinished basement main access with water toys and second refrigerator.

- "We had a family gathering, and Bruce's house was perfect for that. Large and comfortable common area and dining area, nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Large screened in back deck, saw lots of hummingbirds feeding on the Bee Balm! Very nice beach area, we used the canoe and kayaks. Bruce is very responsive and generous with his time. Great location for touring some Adirondack highlights." - "Bruce was great to work with. The house was ready for us, and despite a lot of snow just before our arrival, Bruce had the driveway plowed and clean. The driveway is pretty steep so 4wd is recommended in the winter. Cool house with a lot of charm."

- "Loved this house. Kevin quickly responded to any questions we had a great time" - "We loved it! We had coffee on the porch every morning. This is a great property and such a welcome destination after a day of exploring and adventuring. " - "The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a number of activities within a 5 minute drive including parks, restaurants, The Wild Center, and breweries. Highly recommend!" - "Spacious and clean. Had everything we needed for the weekend and was on a quiet side street conveniently right off the main road. Could have used some toiletries, but I think we were some of the first guests, so that should be an easy fix going forward. Overall a really nice place and super close to Tupper Lake."

- "Wonderful house to spend a week. Where are you feel away from it all but are relatively close to everything. Really warm home that is well decorated but not cluttered. Modern conveniences, great stargazing, attentive host and a beautiful lake to kayak in. We definitely would come back!" - "This is a well appointed house with plenty of options to keep you entertained when it rains…which it did a lot of during our stay! The pond is a network of small waterways that makes for great kayaking, though it’s a bit mucky for swimming."

Luxurious Waterfront with Mountain Views
House
Tupper Lake, New York, USA

Camp Idylwilde is a year-round home nestled in 4+ secluded acres on the shore of crystal clear Gull Pond. The completely private, winterized cabin has mountain views and is situated on 600 feet of waterfront, surrounded by tall pines. You have to look hard to see signs of other houses or people. The property offers ample space for meandering exploration and quiet solitude. The cabin's open architecture creates a great environment for families to gather together and enjoy the restorative, natural setting of the property.

Gull Pond, known for its pristine water quality, is a private, 1-mile long, glacial lake, near the village of Tupper Lake. It is a non-motorized body of water with excellent fishing and unsurpassed privacy. The lake covers more than 350 acres and is supplied by natural springs with a depth of 75 feet.

In the spring of 2021, the decor was expertly updated with an eclectic and contemporary mix of mid-century modern furniture and location inspired, whimsical art. Every room is a delight with interesting details. There are beds for 10 people, with three comfortable bedrooms and a spacious sleeping loft. The fully appointed kitchen has a island and looks out toward the dining area and great room. The vaulted ceilings allow two stories of windows to flood these areas with light and provide views of the water and leafy green surroundings. Two wood burning stoves in the living areas provide an atmosphere and warmth. The stairs go up to an open sleeping loft, or you can step down into a second family room area, with couches and a flat-screen TV. The entire downstairs is lined with windows looking out to the water and mountains as well as sliding doors providing access to the deck that spans most of the width of the house.
