Located in the historic Washington Square District, the double lot and buildings were owned by the Reid family, founders of Reid & Company hardware established in the late 1800s. The Reid family owned the property for fifty years before transferring to the Tanner family who also lived in the house for decades.

The house is an original 1910 historical mirror image duplex, intentionally built of two homes for two generations of families side by side. While you’ll be staying in the north-east home, the front entry vestibule, basement laundry area, and ½ of the back yard are shared with the mirrored home. The colonial revival has been beautifully preserved and includes many of the original details such as hand carved wood, brass & crystal light fixtures and original butlers pantry. The house is elegantly furnished, with rooms on two floors including a covered front porch, entry vestibule, beautiful staircase, parlor sitting room, formal dining room, renovated kitchen, original bathroom, 1/2 bathroom on main level, two bedrooms and enclosed rear porch. The main parlor includes an entertainment cabinet with a 43” LED TV, smart blu-ray player, Roku system and bluetooth soundbar. The maintenance free house is located on a bluff at the end of a dead end street with plenty of parking. It has all new carpeting, hardwood floors, ceramic tile flooring, and new maintenance free decking. It has all city services, including water and sewer. It borders a forever wild area. The lawn extends to the magnificent Great Lake, the view across Lake Ontario is endless as Canada is 66 miles away. Be sure to bring your camera as the sunsets are spectacular! The Oswego Light House is viewable from the Lake front Yard. The shoreline features multi-colored stones of all sizes and the lake has a sandy bottom 25' from shore. We maintain a walking path through the forever wild area of the woods which leads to the waters edge.
In 2019 we completed the installation of a Cedar Split Rail Fence with several gates, it completely surrounds the side and Lake front area of the house, so if you plan to bring your fur babies they will now be safely fenced in.
In 2020 we added all new Granite Kitchen Counter tops and renovated the 2nd bathroom.
We have a cleaning person and a lawn service that do a spectacular job keeping the house and grounds in tip top shape. Our trusted Property managers, Walt & Cynde live 5 houses away so if anything is ever needed they can be there in a few minutes notice. Once you secure your booking I make the lines of communication open, you will get my cell phone number and I am available 24/ 7 during your stay. We strive to do everything in our power to make your stay as fabulous as it can be. The house sleeps 8 (8 MAX) with two official bedrooms, the "Master" suite has one king bed, dressers and with a FULL bathroom connected to it. The "Guest Room" has one queen sized bed and a dresser. There are three twin beds in the "Kid Zone" area and one Twin bed with a Twin Trundle bed that rolls out from under the frame in what we refer to as the "Office" area. There are two full baths including the one in the master bedroom and the other is just off the kitchen/ dining room area in the main part of the house. The 25' X 10' room with the three twin beds has large windows, tv, games and a ceiling fan... we call this room the "Kids Zone". There is another smaller room with a desk (office area) and built in storage with a Twin Bed and a Twin Trundle Bed. There is a full kitchen stocked with everything you will need to cook with. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, a dining area that seats 8 and a living room with two couches and a gas fireplace that separates the living space into two areas also with a flat screen TV. There are ceiling fans throughout, there is also central AC/heat throughout, however we find that even in the warmest months there's always a nice breeze at the lake. There are large sliding glass doors that lead to the all weather decks that surround the lake front/ and side of the house. One small side deck off the dining area is 6' X 6' and the large deck facing Lake Ontario is 25' X 12', that deck adjoins another deck area that has panoramic views of both the Lake and the forever wild, side yard . From there, it is only steps away to an enclosed (screens and windows) gazebo with a ceiling fan, lighting and electric. There is 4 comfy chairs and a coffee table inside of the Gazebo. There's a fun tiki bar, (find the tiki umbrella in the garage) lounge chairs, and out door furniture that complete the lake facing deck.

The Lake House is very private, it's the last house on a dead end street, yet all services can be found within a three mile radius. There is a Walmart, a Price Chopper, Big Lots, TJ MAXX, and many other stores within 5 minutes from the house if you should need anything.
We purchased the little camp next door in 2021, we are in the process of fixing it up and possibly make it into a future rental. As of right now only family members stay there on occasion. So do not worry, if anyone happens to be there during your stay, we will be respectful of your privacy as we enjoy our own privacy as well. Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding this if you should have any.
The property is pet friendly, but approval must be cleared with the home owner. NOTE: There is a $75.- Per Pet/ Per Stay- Fee should you choose to bring your furry family member(s) on vacation. I do require proof of up to date immunizations, such as rabies ect. Also, your pet should be treated with flea and tick preventative prior to your arrival, and I ask that you clean up after your pet's waste. Please keep in mind that there is a leash law in effect in Oswego, NY so you'll need to keep your dog on a leash and under your control at all times. 2 Dog Maximum , 50 pounds or less. If you have any questions please ask.

Our kitchen is stocked with all the necessities to prepare a meal, or a short walk to many eateries.

The first level boasts a spacious bedroom and full bathroom with walk-in shower. Well appointed kitchen with full size appliances. Dining table that seats six. Living room large and cozy with a flat screen television and gas fireplace. Second floor consisting of another full bathroom with tub and shower unit. Second floor bedroom with two queen size beds, flat screen television, wine cooler, and storage closet.

- "We are college roommates and went back to visit some of the old haunts. This was a great location for that. It was centrally located and had enough space for everyone. My recommendation would be to read the information provided. It is not a cheap place for Oswego and the lack of amenities is super annoying, expecially for the price. We were literally given two half rolls of toilet paper -- and of course ran out. Luckily one of our roommates did read the fine print and BROUGHT HER OWN TP! You should NEVER have to worry about running out of toilet paper. Simple things like having enough toilet paper, and spending $20 on a blow dryer and an iron can go a long way in making a spot somewhere you want to come back to. Plus packing and trying to think of everything not provided takes away from what should be an easy stress-free weekend. But, overall it was a cute little spot in a great location."

Four bedroom house. All four bedrooms are upstairs. Full bath upstairs, half bath down stairs. Downstairs in a Formal dinning room, double living room, half bath, kitchen. Seriously, every imaginable item you could need was in that kitchen! The teens loved having their own rooms and beds. The younger kids liked playing catch in the back, walking to the park, or hanging in our large master bedroom. All 4 kids could be found sprawled throughout the very open floorplan of the kitchen, dining room, living room or in their upstairs bedroom. There were plenty of comfortable paces to sit, hang upside down ( ecause boys), and lots of foot rests. I especially liked the screened in front porch to drink my coffee, people watching in a small town with friendly neighbors. The home reminds me of a Bed & Breakfast with its Victorian feel, woodfloors, and decor. I adored the home, as did my friends who popped in for a visit . Bonus for me personally, were the beautiful flower gardens and tranquility of the whole property. I would definitely recommend and look forward to booking again next year."

Owner of the property was super helpful and flexible as our outage dates changed twice beforehand. Apartment is within walking distance to bars and places to eat. Laundromat is only 1 block away too. The only downside was I was working night shift and the traffic on the main road through town could be loud, not the owner's fault though. A sound machine helped with that and after a day or two I slept fine. Will def. book here again if we travel up for another outage!!"

The space
This space is an older RV. It is clean, cute, comfortable, and what we have available to share. We have a second listing on the same lot ( travel trailer ) and is a shared bath house with sink, toilet and shower unit for both spaces. Each space has plenty of parking for your boat ect... Our family has owned this lot and used it for hunting and fishing trips for roughly 20yrs and we do not get to use it as often as we would like. We're offering this as an affordable, semi-private spot to come fish Lake Ontario and/or Oswego River, hunt in the vast fields of the surrounding areas, enjoy ATV rides on the local trails, or just a fun get away. It is not the Taj Mahal but certainly gives you the ability and privacy for a fun fishing/hunting trip at a reasonable rate. Available is a fire pit and a fish cleaning station with running water. Please enjoy our spot as we have for many years.

This completely renovated apartment located in Oswego's downtown district has one bedroom and one bathroom, featuring a private entrance. This home comes equipped with everything you need - from furnishings to linens to silverware for fraction of what the local hotels are charging. What is one annoying thing about Airbnb?
