Enjoy a bon-fire in the back-yard. Five major ski areas are located within an hour's drive. House is fully furnished and has slate shower, bear-claw bath tub, NEW gas cooking stove (top end model), microwave, refrigerator, dish washer, bread maker, waffle maker, cable, DVD/VCR, and wireless internet, plus two wood stoves and free wood to keep you warm at night (There's also central air heating and a mini-split heating and cooling system to keep you comfortable no matter the weather). There's a large downstairs master bedroom with its own gas stove/fireplace for ambiance and extra heat. There is a living room, dining area, and another small room that could sleep 2 with large electric blowup mattress on site. A spiral staircase leads up to a large loft with a full-sized spring mattress futon. There's also a love seat that pulls out into a double size bed. The house can accommodate up to 7 people depending on the sleeping arrangements. The first 2 guests of the party are not charged an extra guest fee. The barnhouse was actually part of a large picturesque Vermont farm just up the dirt road (and view-able from some parts of the property) until it was rolled down on logs and converted into a house some years ago.

My husband and I booked our stay to enjoy the Green Mountain Bluegrass & Roots Festival in Manchester, so we spent most of our stay off the property, but we loved returning at night to peace & quiet, and enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. We did a lot of bird watching (we live on the ocean so we don’t get much more than seagulls and pelicans!). We also explored the trails around the property as well. The barn was beautiful and the neighboring town was perfect for some day trips in between skiing at nearby Bromley Mountain. Some highlights of our visit included: relaxing in the hot tub, visiting the goats, hiking, making pizza, playing games (bingo, pool, etc…), Northshire Bookstore, playing on the tractors at Charlie’s coffee house, movie night by the fire, and enjoying the fun snack basket provided! This converted barn, now a two-story apartment, is framed inside by the barn's original beams. Furnished thoughtfully, guests will encounter vintage rustic and industrial pieces complimented by new and antique mid-century touches. It is a perfect spot for a couple or two friends.

The first floor offers a soaring two-story ceiling, windows from floor to ceiling, and vibrant sunlight. A great room, the first floor has comfortable living and dining spaces, with a small kitchen.

Climb the steps to the very large loft bedroom and find a king bed, a seating nook for reading, a desk for working, a wardrobe, and a dresser. A small, updated, and functional bathroom sits off the master bedroom.

This secluded architectural gem sits on a knoll in a high mountain valley surrounded by ridgelines, near the end of a dirt road in the Green Mountain National Forest.

This is the perfect romantic getaway for one couple, but two couples or a couple with kids can stay here comfortably. Those who used to rent the octagon will remember the timber-framed barn that has now been transformed into a beautifully crafted, cozy, and fully equipped two-story house. Open living room with a recently installed heat pump and a woodstove keeps the house cozy in winter and cool and dry in the summer.

Two fields and a greenhouse comprise Tarpley Farm, a small organic flower and heirloom vegetable farm that serves two local farmers markets, CSAs, and a farm stand at the end of the road. Delicious, pretty, and plentiful!

There is a small outside campfire in a future willow grove for grilling and smores, and a grand stone fire pit in a birch grove—and a bocce court is out by a tiny house, which is a fine place to read, nap, and get some quiet time. The tiny house has heat and electricity—and can double as another room for an intrepid child or extra guest. An attached shop and toolshed off the covered entrance provides ski, boot and luggage storage.

Lowell Lake State Park is close by, for swimming, fishing and kayaking.

There are four golf clubs to choose from; Manchester (20 minutes) has loads of shopping (outlet heaven), Orvis (for trout fishing on the Battenkill), as well as many galleries, the Southern VT Arts Center, the Equinox Hotel (resort/spa), Hildene and the Dorset Theater Festival. The Weston Playhouse, oldest of Vermont's summer theaters, is minutes away, with its Broadway-infused professional summer season and after-show cabaret bar.

Welcome Home!! Get ready to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends, then relax in your mountain getaway. This home has been completely updated and has amenities for the whole family, including large smart TVs, reading nooks, ping pong, foosball, darts, games and even an art center for the little ones. A new hot tub was just installed and is a great way to relax after a day of skiing or hiking.

The main floor plan is open and includes a new chef's kitchen with large 6 burner stove and all the cooking tools and amenities. It looks looks out into the dining area and great room. The great room has two full size couches and club chair where you can enjoy a movie on complementary Netflix (or Hulu, Prime, Disney+, HBO Max) on the large flat screen or take in the forest views and warm up by the wood burning stove. This floor also has two bedrooms - a bunk room and queen bedroom - with a large full bathroom in the middle.

Head upstairs to the large loft, a great spot to enjoy a cocktail and read a book on the very comfy sofa. You may also have fun with the kids and draw some pictures at the artwork center. The second floor has the master bedroom; here you can sit by a roaring fire in a comfy armchair or enjoy a nap in the king sized bed. And the ensuite bathroom has an oversized shower with skylight. There is one more bedroom on this floor with two beds, a queen and a single, as well as its own ensuite bathroom. Here you can relax in the specially equipped hydro-thermo massage bath.

For family fun head downstairs to the large lower-level to play ping-pong, foosball, darts or put on the glasses and watch some 3D TV from the large sectional. Also there are lots of games for all to play.

When you're ready to venture out to Stratton Mountain in the winter, just a quick drive to begin your day of skiing, snowshoeing or enjoying Stratton Village. In the summer, you can enjoy nearby hiking, biking, canoeing and kayaking. Or walk around the corner for tennis, or paddle boarding & swimming in the lake right behind the house.

The hot tub was the perfect Apres activity. And the basement was a huge bonus for the kids to play ping pong. This is a great ski house!" - "We loved our stay here! The owners are incredibly responsive, answering all our questions quickly both before and during our stay. The house instructions were comprehensive yet clear (again, unlike at many rental houses). The kitchen was well-equipped with items we don't typically find in rentals: tupperware, multiple cutting boards and colanders, essentials, etc. But mostly we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house: a welcome basket in the kitchen with snacks, treats, coffee and hand warmers; baskets in the bathrooms with toiletries we may have forgotten; stools in the (exceptionally large) mud room perfect for parents helping their kids put on ski boots; paper, colored pencils, and crayons upstairs by the computer perfect for games; cute night lights by the hot tub; a properly stocked wood-burning stove (starters, paper, logs, lighters, ash can, shovel, etc.). We stayed here between Xmas and New Years with another family, and all of the parents repeatedly commented on how well this house was maintained."

This property has been in our family coming up on forty-five years and we treat it with love - this is not some cookie cutter getaway - the place has spirit!Feels like a home away from home. Knives, cutlery, pots, pans, you name it (air fryer or crock pot), we have it and ready to cook some beef stew or slow-cooked chicken tacos for a nice meal after a day hiking, kayaking or skiing.
Enjoy a cold Vermont beer or glass of wine around the over one hundred year olddining room table (my great grandparents' - recently reupholstered) -with a roaring fire in the background .

Studio style guest house set on a 22 acre vintage Vermont farm. You be able to enjoy some of the originality of gardeners quarters together with the renovated and updated space. The bungalow consists of two rooms plus bath, a bedroom with double bed and a kitchenette/sitting area. Kitchenette is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven,griddle and complimentary coffee, tea and coco. Out back a Vermont white marble veranda , seating and grill. The space
The space is newly renovated, but it was originally used as housing for seasonal gardeners quarters for the property. The property was once owned by the nephew of Robert Frost , the poet and visited many times in his later years .Some of the originality of the space has been kept intact. It is a small space but has what you need for a stay .Most all the artwork in the suite has been painted by host Amy Cloud depicting her chickens and the whimsy of life on a farm. There is a tv with Netflix and Hulu . In summer there are 2 bikes available for your use and a gas grill on back porch also for your use. And always fresh eggs available in refrigerator to take or use when you are here. Bath has only a shower but shampoo, body wash is provided. I have some face cream and lip balm that is made right here on the farm that is also provided and for you to take home with you. The studio unit is private but adjacent to another unit . Parking is in front of door .
In summer there are many things keep you occupied, swimming is near by Lake Paren is within walking distance , the Arlington cover bridge swimming hole is a short distance, and the local’s favorite the marble quarries , a must see even if you don’t want to swim is also close. There are also 3 other covered bridges with in a mile to photograph. Hiking trails are also plentiful, from the famous Long trail to the mile walk around 2 blocks away at the historic Park McCullough House. All are dog friendly as the they are also welcome here. With only a $10 charge per nite collected at arrival .The music venue at Mass MOCA is also close . Canoeing and kayaking down the Battenkill River or fly fishing is also on the list of things to do.
Winter brings skiing at 2 areas within 45 min. Away at Bromley Mt or Stratton. Snowmobiling on the VAST trail is also local and there is plenty of parking here for trailers if you need.

Space is a private unit on a small farm, the unit is adjacent to a carriage unit next door. there is a covered porch out the back door with seating and grilling . Plenty of free range chickens that come to visit.

It is a very casual and friendly setting, if you looking for any fishing, hunting, hiking , skiing , swimming tips we can always direct you to the right direction.
Also all doors are equipped with locks for guests if they feel the need to lock, however all of the perminate residents have never felt the need to use. We consider it a perk of living here in Vermont.

Welcome! My 3 bedroom house cultivates a peaceful and cozy atmosphere. The Queen Room is a private room with 1 queen bed, plenty of closet space, and shares a full bathroom with one guest room. The room is keyed for your privacy and security. Please note: I live in the house along with my people-loving young German Shepherd.


We're a convenient and quick 5 min drive to downtown Bennington with all its shops and restaurants - a perfect hub for a variety of activities in south VT and western MA.

The space

The house includes 2 decks, a fireplace, an ample living room, dining room, and full kitchen with microwave and coffee/tea bar for guest use.

Me and my large dog live in the house. If you have allergies or do not like pets, especially dogs in the house, this is probably not the stay for you.

In the summer, the property gardens go into production with organically grown vegetables and flowers. Feel free to walk the grounds and enjoy seasonal snacks that hit the table fresh from the garden.

It is a short 5 min drive to the center of town and a convenient hub for surrounding winter sports, hiking, museums, colleges, shopping and art. During your stay
I’m fully vaccinated and live in the house with my young German shepherd. I’ll be on the property to greet you upon arrival, help you settle in and answer any questions you may have about the house and area. I live and work in the house and am a social host - if you are in the kitchen, I will chat with you.

Please note that a German shepherd
lives in the house. She was born in mid-June ‘23, is very social and friendly, and undergoing training for her AKC Canine Good Citizenship certificate so that she becomes a mascot for good canine behavior inside the house and out.

This little glamping cabin with cozy woodstove is set at the far edge of a field overlooking a wildlife pond, seasonal fountain, and mountain. It is a peaceful place, surrounded by beauty, and special not just for these amenities but because it is improbably located on four private acres right in Manchester Center. The property abuts 70 acres of preserved land, but is steps from Main Street and all the shopping, dining, and outdoor options that this lovely year-round tourist town has to offer.

The space
This is a single room glamping cabin with no running water, and an outdoor camp toilet. It does have electricity and a wood stove. It is uninsulated. The windows and front door are screened. There is a charcoal grill, a fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen and wash station with a 5-gallon water drum and spigot. All dishware, utensils and grilling tools are provided. There is a French press for making coffee. We provide trash and recycling service. We provide wood for one night, and paper and kindling. Additional bags of wood are available for $10/ea. We will fill the water container before your stay, you are welcome to refill them as necessary at the main house. We provide candles and a lighter for the candle lanterns. We do not provide linens so be sure to bring your own sleeping bag(s).

Guest access
The cabin is private but guests may occasionally share the communal fire pit with us or our guests on occasion. Guests also have access to a shared hammock in the lower field by the cabin.

Other things to note
To be super clear, this is glamping! This space is heated by a wood stove only, and guests light and maintain the fire themselves. Please be prepared to start your own fire in the wood stove. The cabin is un-insulated so bring seasonal-appropriate clothing and sleeping bag(s). Even with the woodstove going, in the depths of winter it will not be as warm as an insulated, heated hotel room. Please choose this option because you want to glamp, not because you are looking for a cheap hotel room. And again, we provide a 5-gallon water drum if the weather is not below freezing, but there is no running water. There is a camp toilet in a tent outside the cabin. We do not provide linens, so guests must bring their own sleeping bags. If you're glamping when temps are below freezing, we may not be able to provide water for the dish wash station. Please note that there is an approximately 100 meter walk from the parking area to the cabin. Thanks!

The space
You will enjoy a large and ventilated suite on the first floor (next to our kitchen). It includes a bedroom, a sitting area with a desk, and a private bathroom. A door can be closed and locked making all that area private and for use of our guests exclusively.

Our guests' suite faces east and south into a lovely brick patio and backyard with a table and chairs that you are welcome to use.

You must enter the house through the front door and have to go through our living room and kitchen to access the guest area.

Only John and Leyla (and our kitty) live in this house. Our bedroom and art studios are on the second floor. We are usually working at home.

There isn't air conditioning in this room, but we do provide a fan. The night temperature in Vermont during the summer gets cool and comfortable.
This room's large windows allow plenty of fresh air and natural ventilation.

Our kitchen is a shared space. Guests are welcome to use our refrigerator, and stovetop, but not the oven. One of us has fish and seafood allergies. We kindly request you to refrain from cooking fish at our home. We do not have a dishwasher and ask that you please clean up after you use the kitchen.

This is a rural town that is accessed by private car. Parking is free at our home. There is no public transportation.

During your stay
We use the AirBnB text-message platform for communication with guests. Please make sure you have the Airbnb app installed in your mobile phone. We are available for questions about the area or to help you as needed most anytime of day. We will be happy to tell you about places of interest, walking trails, great bike-riding roads, and favorite places to eat.

The Bathroom is also off from the kitchen as well.
