There is a dedicated parking spot for your car that is off the street and out of view, so you do not need to worry about the security of your vehicle. My cousin who came to pick us up commented on how nicely maintained the outside of the property was. The hosts Lisa and Steve were phenomenal. The morning that we were getting ready to leave my car would not start. I texted Steve hoping that they were still at home. They had already left for the day but turned around and 20 minutes later they were giving me a jump start to my car so I could get on the road. I will always be thankful and appreciate that. They made what could have been a tough day for myself and daughter a minor hiccup. If you are in the Albany/Schenectady area I would recommend booking this property. Stay at your home away from home in our floor-through apartment, the entire second floor of a 2-family house. The space includes one queen bedroom, a large kitchen with breakfast counter, den, reading room, entry room/dining area, large living room with queen sofa bed, and small balcony. With several windows in every room the house gets beautiful sunlight throughout the day. Only 3 blocks from Union College, and a short walk to downtown!

Our house is perfect for a couple or a small family. The space can be used as a one-bedroom with large living room, or two-bedroom by closing the pocket doors of the living room and opening the queen sofa bed. A plush mattress pad and extra linens can be found in the chaise storage of the sofa.

The sweet deck off the living room is a great place to read during the day or enjoy an outdoor meal. The house is a classic colonial from 1907 with original hardwood floors, exposed brick, high ceilings, and lots of built-in details. Original artwork and vintage furniture throughout. The king sized bed was comfortable. The one negative is the TV requires that you have Netflix or Hulu accounts, of which we have neither, so hubby was little frustrated about that. Otherwise, we had no problems. William (the property owner) provided very clear and specific instructions."

- "Location was great - convenient to everything. Home was comfortable and unique!" - "The positives include the apartment was clean, the kitchen was good for cooking meals, good rain shower head, washer & dryer in the unit, & the TV was large & functional. The negatives: we didn’t get check-in instructions until 1/2 hour after check-in time and after I contacted the host requesting the door code; each room had incredibly loud window AC units, the living room furniture is very low to the ground (uncomfortable for both average and tall people); the shower curtain is too short & the shower curtain rod is incorrectly mounted making for very awkward showers; the closet door in the bedroom was just propped up- not hanging; the baseboard in the bedroom was propped in place/not secured; and a few outlets didn’t have covers/had exposed wiring. The most concerning thing about the neighborhood was that 2 drug busts happened during our 5-day stay, the first one included armed drug enforcement officers at every corner for a 4-block radius of the apartment. The second one included 2 ambulances on scene one block away. I wish we had known there is an elevated railroad track right behind the apartment- we saw only Amtrak trains pass but it was loud, especially at night as we were in bed."

- "Do not stay at this property! I was notified that there was no electric in the kitchen 3 hours before checking in. It was my son’s graduation and there were no other places to go so we had to go there. They sent an electrician in to fix it which I was happy with their efforts. What I wasn’t happy about is that 1 full day we didn’t have electric in the kitchen and they refunded me only $50! One reason I booked it was so I could cook meals for my family, but we had to go out instead & spread unexpected money. They told me they had to pay $1000 for an electrician, I am not sure why that was my problem. They run a business and should have compensated us one at least one full day. They did leave us 1 extension cord, but no were to run it or not a cord long enough to run it. Additional things is that it advertises it sleeps 6 with the couch in the livingroom. I thought it was a pull out & that’s not case. It sleeps 3 comfortably. It can sleep 4, but in one of the rooms it has pull out bed from under another bed and if you do this you can’t close the door of the room. Also, a dirty towel was left on the sink in the bathroom. "

Unauthorized Guests: $100 per guest fine.

MAINTENANCE
Understand that we are at the mercy of the property management maintenance team for most general “fix-it” requests. We ask that all our guests are patient and understanding in regards to this. If a previous guest has damaged something minor and we were unable to fix it before check in, it will be reported to the maintenance staff, but it is dependent on the maintenance team’s schedule. Examples: blinds, curtains, and lightbulbs fall under the “non-emergency” maintenance category and won’t be completed until they’ve addressed any emergency requests around the property first.

We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or demands from rude, disrespectful, and/or discourteous guests. We will not hesitate to terminate your stay at our discretion if you continue to harass/verbally abuse our staff.

Any violation of this agreement will lead to an immediate termination of your reservation. If we receive any lease violations (smoking, pets, noise complaints, trash, etc.), you can be a fined up to $1,200.

House sits back off the road on 3 acres - but conveniently located close to River's Edge Casino (4 miles), Proctors (5 miles), Times Union Center (30 mins), Saratoga Track & SPAC (30 mins).

1. Do not use our address for shipping packages. We do not accept or deliver parcels for guests.
2. We are not responsible for any lost or misdirected packages.

No Party Policy:
Strictly no parties allowed; security cameras outside the home and noise detectors are in place. The police will be called for any parties, resulting in eviction with no refunds.

Unauthorized Guests: $100 per guest fine.
Party Fine: $500.

Unauthorized Late Checkout Fine: $50 per hour.

MAINTENANCE
Understand that we are at the mercy of the property management maintenance team for most general “fix-it” requests. We ask that all our guests are patient and understanding in regards to this. If a previous guest has damaged something minor and we were unable to fix it before check in, it will be reported to the maintenance staff, but it is dependent on the maintenance team’s schedule. Examples: blinds, curtains, and lightbulbs fall under the “non-emergency” maintenance category and won’t be completed until they’ve addressed any emergency requests around the property first.

We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or demands from rude, disrespectful, and/or discourteous guests. We will not hesitate to terminate your stay at our discretion if you continue to harass/verbally abuse our staff.

Any violation of this agreement will lead to an immediate termination of your reservation. If we receive any lease violations (smoking, pets, noise complaints, trash, etc.), you can be a fined up to $1,200.
