Guest Reviews:

- "We had a wonderful time in spite of gray skies and rain. The cabin was cozy and we loved hearing the ducks in the morning and the loon in the evening. Even had a family of deer with 2 fawns in the yard eating apples. Being right on the water was great for relaxing and enjoying the quiet which was what I needed! Walked into town in between rain showers, ate a lot of good food and ice cream! Would definitely come back again!" - "I highly recommend this cabin as a private getaway. The weather was not on our side but we had the home to retreat to when Mother Nature wasn't kind. The things I appreciated the most was that we could bring our dog (it's wrong to vacation without the entire family), the awesomeness of the Morton & Furbish team from start to finish, and the privacy of this little nook on Haley Pond. The beds were very comfortable, linens clean, and many amenities you might not expect. Thank you!"

This 2-bedroom/1.5-bath cabin is just 75 feet from the lake with a non-motorized boat launch/shared access swimming area 100 feet from the cabin. There is also a deck and dock that is shared with our three rental cabins (properties #217363 and #217364, Awahnee and Loon cabins). Birches, maples, cedars, and pines surround the cabin. Abundant raspberries and blueberries in season can be found all along nearby walking trails. Enjoy frequent deer and other wildlife sightings, including the occasional moose. Hear loons at night.

Like many seasonal cabins on Rangeley, Pearl draws its water from the lake. This is fine for dishes, showers, laundry, etc but we recommend purchasing drinking water or obtaining it at a nearby spring (containers and directions provided).

- "We could not have found a more perfect spot on a Maine lake for peace and quiet. This is somewhere I would definitely stay again" - "Property was perfectly located nestled lakeside but still close to downtown and lots of great hikes. Home had everything we could need. Guest Reviews:

- "We had a wonderful time here. The cabin is so close to the lake, and it's really nice to sit and listen to the sound of the waves - and, at night, the sound of the loons. The cabin is well-kept and cozy, and David was a great host. We'd love to come back!" - "There is so much to do in the area, trails, fishing, hunting, etc. People are friendly. This is a rustic cabin right on the lake. Water is supplied from the lake and so water has to be brought in from a flowing well, or purchased. The lake is just a few steps from the front door. There is a canoe, kayak and paddle board for use, a dock, picnic tables, fire pit. The shower was great. Cleanliness is not the strong suit. It’s a rustic cabin not a motel room. I would stay again."

- "Kristin, Nick & Gunnar have an incredible vacation getaway spot here in Rangeley! It was close to everything we wanted to do and they helped us stay very informed on local spots to check out. I had unfortunately overlooked in the online listing where it had said 1 dog limit- Kristin called to handle this with us and was accommodating and understanding of my mistake! I was so thankful as we were already so far from home and had many other bumps along our vacation road- so her understanding and flexibility when we showed up with 3 small dogs will not be forgotten! We hope to come back and visit Rangeley and stay in their beautiful home again! Thanks for everything!"

- "We picked this place for our 1 year anniversary and it was the perfect pick! We love everything about the cabin, it’s very cozy, very clean, great location real close to everything. It sits right on the banks of the lake, I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Book it." - "The cottage has a small footprint, and is perfectly appointed. Kitchen, bedroom & bath are filled with designer-quality homegoods. But it’s the lake view! Whether you’re seated in front of the large picture window indoors or in the set of Adirondack chairs on the deck or the ones at the fire pit on the lawn, you will enjoy the quiet beauty of the water and the skies. We took advantage of the very-nearby scenic hikes for waterfalls, gorges, and 360 views. Joy describes them all in her welcome book on the table. Even as summer guests we decided to try out the sauna when one of the days dipped into the 50s. Remember to pack some warm clothes! We felt like we were in our own private world despite being a 5-min drive from restaurants and a grocery. Great visit."

- "The cabin was better than anticipated. Everything you need for inside or outside cooking was provided, and then some. Place was clean, comfortable and felt like home. We will definitely stay again!" - "My family of 2 adults, 2 children, 1 dog stayed with another family of 2 adults and 2 children. We had a great time and would stay again. Some things to know: *The sauna is AWESOME and is exceptionally well made. The controls are strange, read the instructions in your cabin first. *Dogs are allowed with no caveats on Vrbo but when you get there the instructions say to keep the dog leashed. We did not follow the instructions and had no problems. *There is no AC or dehumidification. If its raining plan to have damp clothes, sheets, furniture, etc. *The beach access appears to be on a neighboring property but there is a small foot path/bridge to it. *There is some excellent easy hiking nearby (4 miles) *Few restaurants in town are open on Mondays. Plan accordingly. Also you may want to avoid Sarge's unless you like low bar food. *The kitchen and bathroom were recently remodeled. They look good. You'll have to duck to get under the showerhead unless you are 5'6" or so *Spices, condiments, fire starting logs, firewood, are provided. There is both a charcoal stove and a propane stove (propane was 1/2 full). *The lights on the back deck and the power feeding the TV both had shorts. Couldn't keep them on reliably especially if there was wind or someone was walking nearby. *Not all windows had curtains/blinds. You may feel a bit exposed if you like privacy at night. *There were books and games avail. I don't have much else to say other than I hope to visit again!"

Was just as advertised." - "Beautiful cabin and very clean" - "Beautiful property and views of the foliage and great lake." - "Loved the cabin. Awesome area to explore. The fire pit is awesome and an amazing way to watch the sunset!" - "It was me and my husbands first trip up here in the winter. Always stayed elsewhere during summer, so wanted to try something new for some needed away time, and thought about trying a cabin. Immediately by looking at the pictures listed in the site we were blown away. It had an amazing feeling of true maine beauty, and looked as nice as a stay in a hotel. Then being there was just as wonderful. Everything was as shown and there was plenty of games to keep us occupied, and nights were breathtaking with the fire and a movie. All instructions left were clear and didnt have any issues with the cabin. Definitely coming back again next year or maybe try in the summer to get that true experience of the views and water that is Rangeley. "

- "Quiet location with lovely views of the lake. Meticulously clean. Enjoyed our stay. This would be a great cabin for a small family with master bedroom on main floor and twins and a bunk on the lower level with a 1/2 bath." - "The cabin was perfect for our stay. We had deer come up close to the cabin in the morning, which was a pleasant site. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no dishwasher and little counter space when cooking-that is the only thing I can say that would have made our stay even more perfect. I also want to thank the people at Morton and Furbish for answering all of our questions and being so helpful and kind. We really appreciated it. "

The sunshine, sunset and the beautiful lake were our favorite as well the fire pit during the night. Definitely we will be back Thank you very much" - "Overall very nice property. It was clean and well equipped with a beautiful view of the lake. It's not too far to drive into Rangeley, and there is good hiking close by. However, the 2nd bedroom is really not suitable for adults as it is basically a loft with the ceiling so low you could not stand up. The dock is also not really usable."

Cabin #5 is available spring to fall. It is cozy getaway located on Rangeley Lake. Guests have access to the lake via 100 meter walk down to the dock. You will be a less than a 5 minute drive to a bustling main street with great local shops and eateries.
The cabin is accessible by 2 sets of stairs or a path from the parking lot.
The cabin is quaint and we provide the necessities. That being said, there is not a microwave or electric coffee maker.

The space
This is a quaint one room cabin that overlooks Rangeley Lake. I would consider it luxuriously primitive. It has running water, electricity, and wifi. A trip to the lake provides time for reflection or adventure.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole cabin. Guests must walk down the hill on a path or 2 sets of stairs to get from the parking area to the cabin.
Guests may use owner's kayaks. They are located on a rack on the dock and labeled with the number 5. Paddles and PFDs are located in the cabin locker in the boathouse, also labeled number 5. Please note that Maine law states that all boats must have a life jacket available for each passenger. Please feel free to use the shared docks to relax by the lake.
You will also find 2 shared pedal boats that you are welcome to use. These boats are accessible for use by all property owners and their renters. Please be mindful of how long you use the pedal boats to ensure others also have an opportunity to use them. Please take note of how they are tied up and return them to that location when you are done. Thanks!

Other things to note
Dogs are not allowed on property through renters due to our association bylaws. However, many cabin owners have dogs that you may encounter. They are all friendly and may look for attention. Please do not feed them.

Doodlebug Cabin (Waterfront, Sunset)
Cabin
Rangeley

Are you looking for serenity and sweeping waterfront westerly views of sunset? Somewhere to find relaxation and escape the hustle and bustle? Somewhere to stay while enjoying all that the Rangeley Region has to offer? Then come stay in our historic lakefront log cabin. Whether visiting for a weekend of yoga and reading, outdoor pursuits, or native brook trout fishing, you've found a place that we're proud to call our second home and would love to share with you.

The space
Only 20 feet from the water with a beautiful porch, this is an original Maine fishing camp (operated commercially from 1891-1987) with additions for modern living convenience (including WiFi and gigabit fiber). The original cabin area has a cathedral ceiling, loft, sitting area, small kitchen, dining area, and propane fired "wood-look" stove (in-season). The primary bedroom has a queen size bed and size-able open closet as well as several windows overlooking the woods. The perfect retreat for a couple to escape from the hustle and bustle while still easy to access and close to everything the area has to offer!

Bedroom 1 is the primary bedroom on the main level with a comfortable queen bed. Bedroom 2 is the open loft area accessed via a log ladder and has a balcony open to the cabin below. The loft is NOT appropriate for children or those with limited mobility. It has two memory foam full size beds, but we do not permit any more than 4 guests in total because of the limited size of the loft itself.

Front porch (area facing water) is private, as is the direction most windows face. Parking and rear entry/yard face to the rest of the homes in our assocation.

AC is installed for July/August. Gas Fireplace (looks like a wood stove) is functional September-April.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire cabin as well as the shared areas of Quimby Pond Camps (shared canoe/kayak launch area, etc)

Other things to note
We are constantly improving and upgrading the cabin. If you have a suggestion please let us know privately because we want to know how to make you love Rangeley just as much as we do!

Note: Quimby Pond is a motor-free/fly fishing only lake. Rangeley Adventure Company (Ecopelagicon) in town offers canoe and kayak rentals at reasonable rates.

Furnished with a mix of vintage and Mid-Century modern, it's stylish and comfortable.
