Rooms are well-designed, if a bit small, with excellent beds and a rainfall shower in the bathroom. Well placed near enough to both the Washington Avenue and Munjoy Hill areas, as well as to the Old Port area. Portland has become a bit more worrisome for tourists with the number of unhoused, etc. but the areas around the Press never felt sketchy. Overall, strong recommendation. A few nits that we encountered to keep in mind: *City Hall has a bell tower which rings out every hour, on the hour, with the number of that hour (i.e., midnight gets 12 bell tolls). We asked for a room away from the bell tower and didn't really notice it, but if you are a light sleeper take the time to request a distant room; *TV in room was difficult to operate and Wifi was not strong enough to allow for streaming (fine for other uses); *The door to the lovely rainfall shower doesn't fully seal causing water to seep out on the floor unless careful; *Occasionally calls to the front desk from inside and outside the hotel went unanswered, as there is typically only one person at the desk; *Our in-room fridge was not on when we arrived and we requested service while we were out. We returned to find a cold fridge but the door had been left open. Nothing happened, and the front desk was appalled to hear about this, but not exactly best practices. "

The keyless entry was very easy. Check in is on your phone, which confused us at first, but the manager was there and he was very helpful. Bed was very comfortable. It was an easy walk to the waterfront in one direction and to the Portland Museum of Art in the other. If we had a complaint, it was only that at night we could hear the hum of some HVAC unit, which was probably not even associated with the hotel and not under their control. At first we were bothered but then it became "white noise." It was a pleasure for us to stay at The Weldon Hotel."

Adorable 140 year old home has 2 adjoining light & airy bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Perfect for a quiet get away! It is centrally located to all that Old Orchard Beach has to offer.

The 2nd room is an adjoining bedroom with a full bed, please let me know if you will need to use it.

Light and airy, second floor bedroom with a full bed. Access is on the main level and up a set of short, but narrow stairs.

Guest access
Shared kitchen and shared bathroom on the main level. The only resident is myself. You are welcome to use the microwave in the kitchen and store perishables in the refrigerator as long as you clean up after yourself. There is a coffee machine and hot water kettle and I do have coffee and tea (and hot chocolate) available.

Parking is on the street, on either side of my driveway. Please don't park in front of my neighbor’s house, there's plenty of room on my side :)

During the winter months, if there are large snow piles on the street, you may park in the driveway. Please remember that while the driveway will accommodate three vehicles, we will need to park smart so that we all fit :)

During your stay
I will meet you with a key when you arrive, unless other arrangements are made. I work full time, but I am available by text and anything you may need, I will do my best to accommodate while you are my guest. I look forward to meeting new people and helping them enjoy our fabulous town.

There are three security cameras on the exterior of the property. Two on the garage and one on the deck. The one on the deck faces the front steps. The cameras have microphones and can be used to communicate if needed.

Other things to note
Other noteworthy features include a hammock, pumpkin chair and large backyard. There is a large deck with table and chairs on the side of the house, as well as a small deck in the front flower garden with Adirondacks to relax in. There is an outdoor shower just off the back deck stairs so that rinsing off after a day at the beach is a snap. It has both hot and cold water. I have beach towels hanging on the far side of the refrigerator in the foyer for guest use. You can hang them over the deck railings to dry when you return from your adventures. These amenities are available for bookings from late May to early September.

There is driveway that can accommodate one vehicle, but we set the expectation that our guests check for street parking first. We also have another Airbnb unit on property, so we can’t guarantee the driver will be available at all.

Parking the neighborhood is free parking overnight and typically not an issue finding a spot “during the day,” as the evening hours can take a bit more searching, if arriving late. If you do arrive and park on the street, if you’re going out we suggest you take an Uber/Lyft (as they are cheap), or everything is within a 20/30 minute walk in the city.

As old as the building is, the 2nd floor sags to the left when you first walk in and levels out to the center of the room and the 3rd floor bedrooms are level.

We do have 1 tenant that resides in #4, aside from #1 being an Airbnb unit and us living in #2.

My place is close to family-friendly activities, public transport, the airport, the Maine Mall, Portland Trails for hiking, public tennis courts, track, walking distance to a grocery store, downtown, Riverbank Park. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the quiet family neighborhood, and the light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
There is a queen bed, and a cot. Full closet, a hanging dresser. Bedroom is 2nd floor, private bathroom - 1st.

The space
Your bedroom is a sunny room, with a small love seat size couch when not used as pullout bed - for the separate sleeping option there is a cot which is more comfortable and will be fine for a night or two. Your bathroom is a large bright room with all the necessities. The bathroom is designated for your use with some of my items stored in it. You have access to the kitchen, fridge, coffee machine, dishwasher, washer/dryer (free with a 3 or more day stay) and the living room with a Smart TV.

Guest access
You can use the kitchen, appliances, dishes and such, and there is space in the fridge for you. If needed, a shelf in the pantry will be provided as well.

During your stay
The best way to reach me is through AirBnb app/text. I am happy to socialize and recommend places and times to go, but I will also give you as much space as you need to just enjoy yourself with me out of the way. At any time, I am happy to answer any questions!

Other things to note
There is a cat in the house. He will not be allowed into your room but otherwise roams the house and outside.

A sweet, large 2 story 1 bedroom unit in a quiet, suburban setting. 1 of 3 units in a converted farmhouse this unit is simple, clean & comfortable. Ample parking, a great backyard & in-unit washer/dryer make for a solid longer term stay opportunity or simply quick trip to Portland. Highlights include a private deck, king bed & large/full kitchen. A 10-15 minute drive to downtown Portland & great walkability from your front door step!

A lovely cabin, built with comfort and tranquility in mind, set in the trees with views of the woods and meadow.

The space
This one room cabin is part of a sweet neighborhood but is entirely hidden and private. There is electricity and an electric heater but no running water or WiFi at this time. The space is equipped with a water filtration container that will be full when you arrive. There is a French press, an electric kettle, and a refrigerator. Guests have exclusive access to a clean, well maintained, and easy to access outhouse. There is no shower, sink or modern bathroom.

The location is 25 minutes from a number of beautiful beaches, and 30 minutes from Portland.
There is no public transportation and taxis, Uber, Lyft, etc are scarce. I HIGHLY recommend coming with a vehicle.

Guest access
You will have access to the cabin and the outhouse, and you are welcome to wander around the woods and neighborhood.

Other things to note
Parking is just off a large dirt, but well maintained, road. Guests will need to walk a 40-50 ft path to get to the cabin. The cabin is modern and very comfortable but also basic. There is no running water, or kitchen equipment. There isn’t a modern bathroom, just an out house.
