My family doesn’t like to leave a place dirty and we went to the beach a lot. I asked if it was possible to get a bigger broom & mop and she ordered them for us to use while we were there. - "Everything" - "Oldest inn in Maine, Historic Place with easy walk to the beach and fine appointments. Not for folks totally addicted to the www and if you want to recharge your phone, remember to bring an ac to phone charger." - "(I'm writing this on behalf of my fiance, so you're getting the "girl version"/"everything that's old is pretty" version of this review.) This B&B is beautiful. I'm in no way an expert on B&B's, having only stayed in them in England, but this is lovely. Loved the history of the inn, I'd compare it to the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA for atmosphere (although no ghosts). For those visitors to Portland/Freeport/Old Orchard Beach who don't want to be in the thick of tourists and noise, this is perfect. It's a quick 5-10 minute walk to the beach, pier, restaurants, and arcade (I am now a Skee Ball wizard). The innkeepers are lovely, kind, interested people and I loved the continental breakfast. Those reviewers who don't understand the concept of the advertised "continental breakfast" it means baked goods, cereal, juice, coffee, really basic but about 100x better than a chain version. If you're looking for a gourmet meal every night and a breakfast to match, this is not the place for you. A lovely gesture is putting out pastries (cookies, cream puffs!) and coffee at around tea time for guests to enjoy and have an afternoon break. Our room was on the street and although a bit noisy, it didn't at all deter from our experience. Given that Old Orchard Beach is hopping in July, we weren't disturbed at all. People are civilized and the noise is mostly contained down by the shore and the arcade area."

- "Excellent !" - "Great location, quick walk to the pier area. Owners are super friendly and great people. Room was a basic room 2 beds a t.v. a fridge. Right across the street from the beach. We were on the street on the ocean side, and our unit was maybe 30 feet away from the sand. It was clean, easy free parking, a pool in the event it was too cold or raining. ( they did have a can opener also) Being able to use the various pools on the sister properties was a win also. The pool at our place was heated and was great but if you wanted something a tad cooler you have access to the one literally next door. The walkway to the beach was nice. Being in between the two properties it almost was like having your own private area as due to the fact most people that are visiting for the day will generally park in one of the public lots way down by the pier and tend to not venture too far down the coastline to where we were. It was a very short walk to the pier and rides…and I’m walking with three kids aged 9,6, and three. Now the great part about being close to the pier but not right in the action is you won’t have to worry about the noise from the rides and the various places that have bands playing late. All in all it was a great place for my family of five to stay and enjoy our time together "

The bathroom stayed damp and the towel holder fell off the wall, but they promptly fixed it. Maid service came early each day (9:30 am). A couple days we were still in bed. I'm more accustomed to them coming in the afternoon. Overall we had a nice time visiting the beach, which is what we were there for. "

On the main floor there is a large country kitchen, two dining rooms, a large parlor and two large wraparound porches with one of them being screened.

This bedroom is on the third floor, has a double bed, mirrored bureau, chair, and ceiling fan. The room is located on the east side of the building with the window facing east.

This bedroom has a locked door that adjoins a single room.
