For those visitors to Portland/Freeport/Old Orchard Beach who don't want to be in the thick of tourists and noise, this is perfect. It's a quick 5-10 minute walk to the beach, pier, restaurants, and arcade (I am now a Skee Ball wizard). The innkeepers are lovely, kind, interested people and I loved the continental breakfast. Those reviewers who don't understand the concept of the advertised "continental breakfast" it means baked goods, cereal, juice, coffee, really basic but about 100x better than a chain version. If you're looking for a gourmet meal every night and a breakfast to match, this is not the place for you. A lovely gesture is putting out pastries (cookies, cream puffs!) and coffee at around tea time for guests to enjoy and have an afternoon break. Our room was on the street and although a bit noisy, it didn't at all deter from our experience. Given that Old Orchard Beach is hopping in July, we weren't disturbed at all. People are civilized and the noise is mostly contained down by the shore and the arcade area."

JORDAN PARK MARSH
Our marsh is home to an abundance of wildlife. Ducks and ducklings, songbirds, egrets, herons, glossy ibis, turtles, muskrats, wild turkeys and white tail deer are some of our recent visitors this past season. And of course, we have our resident grey and red squirrels and a chipmunk or two. OceanBrook is home to maple, birch, mountain ash, and willow trees that provide comfortable shade on hot summer days. A large spreading willow tree overhangs the marsh and provides a perfect refuge for our birds, duck families, squirrels and chipmunks, while sheltering our multiple patios.

- "We had a wonderful stay at Joel and Jane’s place in Old Orchard Beach (Ocean Park). Check in was easy and Joel was there to give us a tour. We stayed with family including my 18 month old granddaughter (there’s a booster seat we noted halfway thru our stay in the hall closet if needed - we brought our own). The kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking needs (for coffee drinkers there is a Keurig and a regular drip coffee maker) as we ended up cooking in all week. There are also several outdoor grills available to use as well. We also loved having access to a washer/dryer, especially having a little one with us. The location was perfect for us and only a short walk to the beach and about a mile to the pier. My favorite spot was the front porch which is screened in so the mosquitoes can’t get me while my partner loved sitting outside by the marsh where there were several sitting areas. We would definitely come back again next year if this place is available."
