For those visitors to Portland/Freeport/Old Orchard Beach who don't want to be in the thick of tourists and noise, this is perfect. It's a quick 5-10 minute walk to the beach, pier, restaurants, and arcade (I am now a Skee Ball wizard). The innkeepers are lovely, kind, interested people and I loved the continental breakfast. Those reviewers who don't understand the concept of the advertised "continental breakfast" it means baked goods, cereal, juice, coffee, really basic but about 100x better than a chain version. If you're looking for a gourmet meal every night and a breakfast to match, this is not the place for you. A lovely gesture is putting out pastries (cookies, cream puffs!) and coffee at around tea time for guests to enjoy and have an afternoon break. Our room was on the street and although a bit noisy, it didn't at all deter from our experience. Given that Old Orchard Beach is hopping in July, we weren't disturbed at all. People are civilized and the noise is mostly contained down by the shore and the arcade area."

JORDAN PARK MARSH
Our marsh is home to an abundance of wildlife. Ducks and ducklings, songbirds, egrets, herons, glossy ibis, turtles, muskrats, wild turkeys and white tail deer are some of our recent visitors this past season. And of course, we have our resident grey and red squirrels and a chipmunk or two. OceanBrook is home to maple, birch, mountain ash, and willow trees that provide comfortable shade on hot summer days. A large spreading willow tree overhangs the marsh and provides a perfect refuge for our birds, duck families, squirrels and chipmunks, while sheltering our multiple patios.

We stayed with family including my 18 month old granddaughter (there’s a booster seat we noted halfway thru our stay in the hall closet if needed - we brought our own). The kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking needs (for coffee drinkers there is a Keurig and a regular drip coffee maker) as we ended up cooking in all week. There are also several outdoor grills available to use as well. We also loved having access to a washer/dryer, especially having a little one with us. The location was perfect for us and only a short walk to the beach and about a mile to the pier. My favorite spot was the front porch which is screened in so the mosquitoes can’t get me while my partner loved sitting outside by the marsh where there were several sitting areas. We would definitely come back again next year if this place is available."

Welcome to “OceanBrook,” the first word in quality seaside Maine vacation rentals. Our unique three unit vacation compound, located in the heart of historic Ocean Park and on Jordan Park Marsh, is ideally situated near Maine's renowned seven mile sandy beach on Saco Bay. And its just a three to five minute walk (2 blocks) to the beach. OceanBrook's three high quality units are available for weekly and multiple week rentals from the last week of June through the first week in September. (Our Summer high season.) For the remainder of the year, there is a three (3) night minimum stay requirement for any of our three units.
When your not enjoying the beach, you can relax on the marsh side patios for snacks or a barbeque. While OceanBrook is located in the midst of Ocean Park, its unique location on the protected wildlife refuge provides a sense of privacy as you relax in the shade under the spreading willows and birch trees. Beautifully decorated home with fenced in back yard, fire pit and private hot tub!!! Master bedroom has a queen size bed and private bathroom behind walk in closet, 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds and the living room has a brand new full size sleeper couch - all mattresses and couch purchased new in 2017. Dining table seats 6. Room in driveway for 2 cars with room in front of house for a third car. House is located on a quiet street just a 5 + minute walk to the pier, restaurants, amusement park and of course the ocean!!

- "My family enjoyed a fantastic week at this adorable beach house. First off, it was probably the cleanest little house we've ever stayed in - a welcome relief upon walking in the door. The bedrooms are small but nice. The common spaces are excellent - clearly remodeled in the recent past the eat-in kitchen was a pleasure for prepping and enjoying meals. The family room is tiny but again, perfectly cozy for the 4 of us for the limited time we spent on the couch - because the outdoor space is fantastic. We enjoyed playing games and relaxing on the back porch, my teenage daughters particularly enjoyed the hot tub, and the little back yard with picnic table is even better than the pictures. Bathroom is great. Shower is great. Front porch is a peaceful place to enjoy a quiet morning. Neighborhood is quiet - I met a few of the neighbors throughout the week all were very nice - a sweet contrast to the busy and somewhat overstimulating boardwalk area of Old Orchard Beach. There is lots of boardwalk style shopping and eating within a few minutes walk. My family spent a few days on the popular beach but enjoyed some of the more low key options in the area as well such as Ocean Park (a sleepy little spot barely a mile from the house), Crescent Beach State park beach (quiet and lovely), along with adventures up to Portand for excellent dinners and the gorgeous botanical gardens up in Boothbay Harbor. Owners were responsive, helpful and kind. Highly recommend this listing."

Elissa was extremely quick to respond to our request and before we knew it we were en route! This adorable little place is literally just a few steps from the beach and only a 4-5 minute walk to downtown and the pier. They had picnic tables and grills in the back which we used multiple times during our stay to cook dinners! Everything was very clean, they had beach chairs, a good size beach cart to pull everything in which is a lifesaver when you have littles. The kitchen had all of the basic necessities you’d need to cook meals, the beds were extremely comfortable (my husband mentioned this every time we went to bed lol). - "This is a cozy third floor apartment. The kitchen/living room space was comfortable. The two bedrooms were on the small side, but adequate, with the closet for both rooms across the hall. The bathroom was good size, but could use a bit of an update. We sat on the outside porch quite a bit, which was really nice. Although we didn’t use the grill/picnic table area, it’s a great space. The beach is just a few steps away, which was awesome! The pier is a short walk to get to, but far enough away to be able to leave most of the noise and crowds behind."

***There is internet provided by the Condo Management Association, which is provided to all units. Thus, if there is an issue with the internet, it is something I would have to address with HOA as I do not have my own internet service provider***.

Surrounded by charming cottages in the idyllic seaside community of Ocean Park, this historic 1880’s guest house sits on the town square, one block from the beach and steps away from the soda fountain, bakery, restaurant, shuffleboard, tennis courts, and library. Accommodations are clean and comfortable yet modest, and so are the prices. Step back in time in this lovely house that has been offering an ideal location along with a unique communal living experience for generations.

The space
The Curtis is a large guesthouse with 20 bedrooms located on the second and third floors. The bedroom floors also have a sitting room with cable TV in the second floor sitting room. Each of these floors has shared bathroom facilities with lavatories being gender designated.

On the main floor there is a large country kitchen, two dining rooms, a large parlor and two large wraparound porches with one of them being screened.

This bedroom is on the third floor, has a double bed, mirrored bureau, chair, and ceiling fan. The room is located on the east side of the building with the window facing east.

This bedroom has a locked door that adjoins a single room.

Guest access
All common spaces are shared with me and other guests. There is plenty of space for everyone.

All guests have designated space in one of three large refrigerators and access to a microwave oven, toasters, toaster oven and free morning coffee or tea, regardless of how many nights they stay. Guests who stay 4 nights or longer also have access to the gas cooktop and an outdoor gas grill.

Washer and dryer is for STAFF USE ONLY. Laundry facilities are available 1/2 mile away. There is a Backyard Clothesline for wet towels and bathing suits.

Guests are encouraged to use the Outdoor Shower and Rear Stairway after the beach. Please do not use the front stairs when returning from the beach.
