A little cabin on our property in Hither Woods. A cozy hideaway conveniently located 12 minutes walk from Gurney's Beach Resort, 16 minute walk from public path to beach, and 6 minutes drive from Montauk town for restaurants and nightlife. Good for couples and solo adventurers, the space is private and homey, with outdoor shower and Chimenea fire pit. The main house is 65ft away, but we honor your privacy. The cottage comes with WiFi, window A/C and complimentary coffee or tea. Parking for 1 car
The space
The Cabin is a small 'studio' space - the interior is small but cozy, it measures 12 ft x 16 ft. + plus small bathroom, with sink, toilet, indoor shower and closet with full length mirror. The cabin is small but perfect for 1 - 2 people max. (The cabin is NOT suitable for children due to its size - No infants/children allowed). A maximum of 2 people are allowed in the cabin. The main house is located on the property 65 feet away and we share the same driveway. Guests park in the lower level. Only 1 car on the premises please.
There is a large spacious mahogany outdoor shower, with hot/cold water. (Only for summer months May to Oct). Plus a clay Chiminea fireplace for those chilly spring/fall evenings. We can supply you with some kindling & firewood - but please do not leave fire unattended - please make sure fire is out (with sand supplied - NOT water) before going out or to bed. Thank you.
Although plenty of people book the cabin without a car (and use local taxi's, or walk), I think a car is preferable for where we are in Hither Woods. We are situated just up the hill from Gurney's Resort and Spa, so we get a lot of people book as a result for a cheaper quieter alternative. In the summer there is a Hampton Hopper bus that travels around Montauk and pick up is on the old highway - there will be a schedule in the booklet of the cabin for more details. Please note: The cabin does not have a kitchen, but more of a hotel type mini fridge, coffee machine, kettle, microwave, plates and cutlery. No BBQ outside.
The cottage is screen-free (no TV), offering guests the opportunity to unplug and reconnect. We are thoughtfully equipped with just what you need for your stay. The cottage has free high-speed WiFi, so we encourage you to bring your personal devices should you wish to stream entertainment while you’re staying with us. No loud music outside please as this is a quiet residential neighborhood, thank you.
New for 2021 is a small additional window, facing the woods. In the hotter summer months (June to Sept) I will provide a window Air Conditioner, for those humid days. In the Spring and Fall a window screen to keep out any bugs. New for 2025 Season is an extremely comfortable high-end Queen mattress by Stearns and Foster from the Studio Collection. (A 'medium' firmness to hopefully suit all.)
