- "Wow! My wife and I stayed here right after they opened, and we were so impressed. First, it's LUX. I've never experienced anything like it in Costa Rica. Everything is high-end, and no detail was spared when they built and appointed this place. The rooms are beautiful with the custom wood and stone work, the furnishings are mostly imported from Bali and it sets a great vibe. The beds are super comfortable (and bonus for the pillows, my wife has already purchased the same for our home in LA. With the imported linens, plush towels, high-end appliances (each room is a two-bedroom suite with a fully stocked kitchen), and decor - the rooms are just impressive. We stayed in a ground-floor suite with a barrel sauna and cold plunge - it was amazing to have the cold plunge in hot and humid Costa Rica! The huge patio area also had an outdoor grill and smoker! The rooftop pool and bar are chic yet comfortable, with plenty of space to lounge or work. I'm a coffee/espresso snob and I was pleased, they have great setup and great barista. It's cool to be in the treetops while lounging by the pool or working (excellent WiFi). The staff was friendly (as is the norm in Costa Rica; Tico's are the best!) and helpful. Cesar made reservations for us at El Coyol and was always a text away for anything we needed. Becca was also great. Best of all - Silvestre is just steps from the beach with one of the best surf breaks in the world. Nosara is amazing, and you cannot go wrong staying here."

I showed up early and he kindly let me store my bags in a safe place while I went surfing and waited until it was time to check in. He is a very fun, laid back guy that made me feel right at home. I really appreciated the fact that my room had a good working AC unit and a comforter on the bed. Most places I’ve stayed in Costa Rica only supply a thin bed sheet. The room was clean and cozy. I slept great! The next person I met was Brian the pizza chef. He gave me a fist bump and had a big smile. I really liked talking to him. His Pizza skills are excellent. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. And finally the other person I really appreciated while staying there was the other David. Not sure of his exact job title but he seemed to do a little bit of everything. He made me several great cups of coffee, he took my food orders, he called me a shuttle to Tamarindo when I was leaving. He was a solid dude and I could tell he had a strong work ethic and cared about the guests experience. I will definitely be staying there again next time I’m in Nosara. "

Our room was very comfortable and a perfect size for our family. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the food at Al Chile is fresh, delicious and nourishing. And reasonably priced. We so enjoyed our daily breakfasts and lunches. We also appreciate that the road is paved by the Sunset Shack as it keeps the dust down as compared to other places in the area. We loved relaxing by the pool and drinking fresh juice in between our surf sessions. Definitely make dinner reservations for every evening of your stay during busy times. The only negative is that the roads are unpaved and can be rough or muddy during the rainy season but after the first day a seasoned traveler adjusts their footwear or transportation accordingly. All in all we would love to go back someday."

I had the Tico Special and it was huge and delicious. The only downside is the construction happening a few feet away on the other side of the wall which divides the property. Constant banging metal and drilling from 7am onwards. The Green Sanctuary folks have created a sweet and reasonably priced oasis, converting shipping containers into rooms, and sadly, with the overdevelopment currently happening in this area, their oasis sounds like a construction zone during the day. I feel very sorry that this is happening as their patch is beautifully maintained and managed. "

We are a short walk via jungle path to the beach--as close as you can legally be in this protected area. We are also a short walk away from the mouth of Rio Nosara and the mangrove forests of the Lagarta Lodge Nature Reserve.

Please note: we are in the peaceful jungle neighborhood of Playa Pelada, not in the center of town. We treasure the sounds of nature and the energy of the jungle--it's why we're here in the first place.

We take pride in providing a genuine experience that mirrors our own lives and principles: embracing simplicity, fostering a connection with the natural world, and facilitating transformative personal growth. Operating as a small eco-conscious retreat, our family has been rooted in this area for over two decades, cultivating deep connections and relationships with the land and the local Costa Rican community.

In this time of year, the unpaved roads to our space get rougher. We recommend coming in a 4x4 or 4x2 vehicle. These rough roads are more or less all over Nosara and the area: you could say it's part of the charm. We encourage you to feel the adventure of it all :)

My place is a beautiful Rancho with a lounge common space, a little yoga studio, and a big pool. Rooms surround the main Rancho along with a lush garden and hammocks. There is a delicious Juice Bar & Cafe (closed from Oct 17th until Oct 31st, 2022). Five minutes walking to the beach and across the street from an awesome little grocery store, Italian gelato, pizza slice, and ten more dining options. Best location in Playa Guiones.

Our new hotel is located at the North End of Playa Guiones, Nosara, Costa Rica About a 5-minute walk from the beach.

Our small boutique hotel has a pool and a large area for relaxing. Each room has a safe box, A/C, fan, minifridge, and hot water. We also have a Juice Bar & Café on the property.

The living room offers a built-in, L-shaped sofa and accompanying table perfect for lounging after a surf session or day at the beach. In the evenings, enjoy the soft glow of light installed behind the sofa as you share memories of an adventurous day in Nosara.

The custom kitchenette provides the freedom to create your own coffee, smoothies or vacation meals. All of the cabinetry is made from Costa Rican Laurel and built by local craftsmen. The dining table and stools were designed and imported from artisans in Morocco. Included in the kitchenette, you will find a 2 burner stove, small refrigerator, toaster, blender and coffee maker. It’s an easy walk down to La Bodega to grab groceries or you can drive to one of Nosara’s supermarkets. Also, there is an organic farmer’s market in Guiones every Tuesday.

If the guard is not at the gate at the time of your arrival, please give him 5 to 10 minutes to show up, since he's probably doing one of his rounds around the property.

Naya is an eco-hotel and retreat space located in the jungle of Nosara, just a 5-minute walk to the beach.  Naya is an off the beaten track nature lover's paradise, complete with comfortable, modern amenities. 

We offer eco-conscious accommodation: 6 stand alone units, each with en-suite bathroom, AC and private veranda. Our kitchen, pool, outdoor dining area and yoga shala are available for our guests.

The space
We are dedicated to providing our guests with an authentic encounter with the natural beauty that defines this region. Nestled in the serene jungle of Playa Pelada, our accommodations are a blend of comfort and simplicity, offering a tranquil escape just a short journey from the lively hub of Nosara, Playa Guiones.

Immerse yourself in the true essence of this precious environment while enjoying a vibrant wellness program featuring classes, workshops, and retreats starting December 1st, 2023.

The property features 6 stand alone units, each with an en-suite bathroom, AC and private veranda. The center of our space is the jungle fringed infinity pool, lounge area, shared kitchen and our yoga shala.

We are a short walk via jungle path to the beach--as close as you can legally be in this protected area. We are also a short walk away from the mouth of Rio Nosara and the mangrove forests of the Lagarta Lodge Nature Reserve.

Please note: we are in the peaceful jungle neighborhood of Playa Pelada, not in the center of town. We treasure the sounds of nature and the energy of the jungle--it's why we're here in the first place.

We take pride in providing a genuine experience that mirrors our own lives and principles: embracing simplicity, fostering a connection with the natural world, and facilitating transformative personal growth. Operating as a small eco-conscious retreat, our family has been rooted in this area for over two decades, cultivating deep connections and relationships with the land and the local Costa Rican community.

In this time of year, the unpaved roads to our space get rougher. We recommend coming in a 4x4 or 4x2 vehicle. These rough roads are more or less all over Nosara and the area: you could say it's part of the charm, and the daily reality for those who live here. We encourage you to feel the adventure of it all :)

Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, outdoor dining area, pool and yoga shala, when shala is not in use for classes and workshops.


Our daily yoga and wellness schedule starts up again on December 1st, 2023. We invite you to attend our classes, workshops and events at a discounted rate. Please be in touch for more details and visit our website to find out more.

Other things to note
With this rental, you have exclusive access to all 6 of our en-suite rooms, the kitchen, outdoor dining area and the infinity pool.

Our daily yoga classes will still run in our yoga shala, which a separate space away from the other areas, and you are warmly welcomed to join in these activities at a discounted rate.
