We did wish we had visited in summer to enjoy the pool, and it was a bit disappointing to learn that the spa is no longer operating — we would have loved to use those amenities. Also, while the food was exquisite, it was quite rich — more casual dining options would have been a welcome addition for longer stays. It’s worth noting that the château isn’t close to central Nantes, so we ended up spending quite a bit on taxis — but we were aware of this going in. Overall, this is a very, very special place — elegant, peaceful, and indulgent. We’d return in a heartbeat. "
