The ocean isn’t friendly like Acapulco’s so you’re risking getting swallowed and drowning. The futons and hammocks at the house beach get crowded on weekends, you have to use your towel to reserve them. The areas around the hotel are quiet and very calm, but there isn’t many restaurants around within walking distances and there are lot of damaged buildings due to Otis, so you’ll see some dilapidated sights while you’re walking around. I’ll recommend you to go if you want experience a semi virgin beach in the middle of nowhere, especially if you’re not looking for clubs or night life around the place. Be weary if you want a snack for dinner, restaurant closes at 11 pm and the nearest store is far by foot and the hotel doesn’t let you introduce food and charge you for doing it. "

We arrived late in the evening, well after dark, to find a four course meal with several of the residents and owner waiting for us. You could hear the ocean waves breaking and smell the sea breeze on the terrace where we dinned. The next morning we looked out the window and there it was, the beautiful Pacific Ocean, a view that can be seen from everywhere on the property. Even with the beautiful swimming pools, we took the steps down to the ocean for our first swim. We ate all our meals at Donde Mira El Sol and enjoyed everyone of them trying several new dishes with wonderfully fresh ingredients, no processed foods here! Meals are served mainly at 10:00 am, 4:00 pm and 8:30 pm, somehow this immediately seemed entirely normal, however you may order meals any time between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. The owners, who live on site, and the staff are totally dedicated to making your stay nothing but relaxing and enjoyable. If you are looking for a place to live, or just visit, you will not find a better Senior Living Home. You may find some places equally wonderful, but the financial cost will be much greater. As a vacation spot, Donde Mira is also a wonderful hotel. We are already planning to winter at Donde Mira El Sol next year or perhaps become permanent residents. In one week we made life long friends!"
