Many scenic routes twisting and turning through the mountains, with tiny village houses clinging to the mountainside. I stopped my car to take photos of the morning mist filling the valley floor, with the mountains rising high above. There are monasteries and convents to visit, all centuries old. There is a safe in the room, but otherwise the room is spartan and basic - for example no rugs on the floor in the bedroom. Breakfast is fine with a good choice of food. The female staff were friendly and welcoming, only the male receptionist in his 40s wasn't terribly friendly."
