- "This is a brand new hotel in a refurbished historic building. Loved how they restored and highlighted the original entrance foyer and created a tastefully modern lobby and restaurant area next to it. Their $16 ‘European’ breakfast spread is probably the best I’ve ever had in a hotel for that price. Two made to order hot dishes available + a thoughtfully selected cold buffet including top notch cheeses and cold cuts, fresh fruit, yoghurt parfaits, etc. All staff members were exceptionally friendly, especially Sandy at the front desk and Alexis at breakfast. As far as the rooms, I was surprised by how much street noise can be heard on the lower floors in spite of double glazed windows (I assume the old building’s walls and insulation are the problem), but this was solved after Sandy kindly moved me to a room on the top floor. Clean, comfortable, functional although decoration (or lack thereof) plus a very bland color palette for everything from walls to furniture does make one feel like in a hospital room. "
