Mi casa es su casa! My 2000 sq. ft. home is situated in an established neighborhood in north central Austin. The house is charming and colorfully decorated with folk art, hardwood floors and Mexican tiles throughout.
I have an immaculate home with a great Austin vibe. Bedroom 1 has a King size bed and full bathroom with tub. Bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds and full closet. Bedroom 2 and 3 share a modern/vintage inspired bathroom directly across the hall. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed. Bedroom 3 has it's own key pad entrance that leads to the back patio with hot tub right outside your door. Bedroom 4 is attached to the main house but also has its own private entrance. Attached to it is a small private bathroom with a sink, shower and toilet. Bedroom 4 has 1 queen bed and a full size futon bed. There is a flat screen TV, Roku, stereo system, DVD player, ceiling fan, bar sink and armoire in your room. You will also be able to enjoy a backyard paradise including a huge back patio with a BBQ grill, fire pit, mature trees, and a lap pool. We also have a Jacuzzi hot tub for your enjoyment.
You will love cooking in my full set up kitchen. The living room area is spacious and wide open which lends itself nicely to small social gatherings.
Our home is clean and smoke free. We have parking for 4 small cars in the driveway. We have a bike path that runs directly in front of our home. There are cyclists, joggers, roller bladers and walkers zooming by throughout the day. If you enjoy fitness you will feel right at home and if you don't enjoy fitness, you will enjoy watching!

My home is NOT located in downtown Austin. Before booking my home, please make sure the location is right for you!! I am 5 miles (10 min by car) to downtown, provided there isn't a festival going on. Downtown Austin, UT, Zilker Park, Austin Convention Center, Barton Springs and Austin's entertainment district are all approximately 5 - 7 miles away and can be reached by car or public transit. There is a bus stop within walking distance but it takes 30 minutes by bus to get downtown. Recommended for festivals at Zilker park.

We are a licensed short term rental with the city of
Austin. The City of Austin has a no outdoor noise code that is strictly enforced between the hours of 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM and no more than 8 guests are allowed at the home. In order to preserve the relationship I have with my neighbors and keep with in Austin City code, I ask that if you are planning a party weekend, my home is not the right place for you. Out of respect for my neighbors and to keep within code, loud noise, outside, after 10:00 PM will not be tolerated and is cause for removal from the property. This property has Nest outdoor camera's installed outdoors only. Indoor noise is not a problem, only outdoor noise after 10:00pm and before 8:00am. If you have any questions, please ask.

Train Nearby - There is a train nearby that is lightly audible at times. Ear plugs are stocked and located in the downstairs closet.

Security Cameras/Noice Detector - There are 3 video surveillance cameras on the outside of the property. Two cameras are located in the backyard/patio and point at the 2 entrance gates respectively. One camera is pointed at the parking lane. The property is also equipped with a noise detector used to detect abnormally loud sounds. It does not record conversations and only measures decibel levels.

Bed-Couch - the gray couch in the living room is nearly the size of a queen bed and can comfortably sleep 2 adults. You will find a mattress protector, bed sheets, blankets, and pillows for this couch in the first Bedroom’s closet (the room with 2 twins).

COVID-19 Compliant - we have committed ourselves to Enhanced Cleaning Protocol, which is designed to provide guests with a living space that is cleaned, sanitized, and prepared according to cleaning guidelines from the CDC and other health organizations.

The "Barkis Bungalow" is a newly-constructed, fully furnished 850sf 1Br/1Ba guest home with vaulted ceilings, a walk in closet + all amenities. The guest house is very quiet, and situated in the middle of an acre on Shoal Creek (Guests tell me that they feel like they are in the middle of a park). It's a very safe neighborhood, just 5 minutes from the University of Texas; 7-10 minutes to downtown and 7 minutes from the Domain. It is wired to the hilt with high-speed internet and on the TV, Netflix and Hulu. There is a private, gated entrance with off-street parking and has a circular driveway, providing easy access in and out. It is located in the beautiful 50's Allandale oak tree-filled neighborhood. The Austin bike path goes down the street, and the neighborhood is full of joggers and cyclists. Guests who stay here love it because of its style, it's location and the fact that it is truly my guest house - everything is high end - exactly what I put in my own home - and extremely well maintained.

The small home sits further back on a very rare (for Central Austin) 1-acre, well-maintained, tree-filled yard that backs up to Shoal Creek. Because the home is situated further back on the property, it is very quiet and private. There is also a large enclosed garden and separately, a screened-in porch with a fan that also has WiFi.

LOCATION: ALLANDALE AND THE BURNET ROAD CORRIDOR

The Bungalow offers the best of all worlds: You’re 7 minutes from downtown and situated in a park-like setting on an acre. You're also 7 minutes from the Domain. The Bungalow is located in the Allandale neighborhood of Central Austin on Shoal Creek Blvd 3 minutes from MoPac Expressway and parallel to Burnet Road as well Lamar (the primary North-South corridors in Austin).

It is within walking distance to some of Austin's best restaurants, including Fonda San Miguel, Epicerie, Voodoo Donuts, Monkey Nest Coffee and one of the best trailer food parks in the city. It is one block from the trendy Burnet Road Corridor (Central Austin's version of SoCo or South Congress). Central Market is 5 minutes away, as is the local HEB grocery store.

The long, tree-lined street is also the premiere area for biking and walking in Austin.

Allandale is a traditional, family-friendly neighborhood featuring quiet streets lined with mature trees and updated homes from the mid-20th century. Situated along Shoal Creek, the Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park offers sports courts, a pool and a duck pond. Burnet Road, the area's main commercial strip, provides dining options ranging from creative taco joints to foodie hot spots to relaxed pubs.

Getting Around:
We recommend that guests rent a car during your stay in Austin as many of Austin’s best attractions and fun things to do are scattered around the city and much more convenient when accessed by car. While there are certainly public transportation options such as buses and individual transportation options such as scooters/bikes/mopeds, these options are mainly convenient and readily available around the downtown Austin area and quickly becomes sparse even a couple miles outside of city center. Rideshare apps such as Uber and Lyft are also great options but expenses can quickly add up as Austin rideshare rates are on the higher end and can surge very high during busy times, such as 2AM on weekends and during large events such as SXSW, conferences, F1, etc.

Burnet Road, the area's main commercial strip, provides dining options ranging from creative taco joints to foodie hot spots to relaxed pubs.

Getting Around:
We recommend that guests rent a car during your stay in Austin as many of Austin’s best attractions and fun things to do are scattered around the city and much more convenient when accessed by car. While there are certainly public transportation options such as buses and individual transportation options such as scooters/bikes/mopeds, these options are mainly convenient and readily available around the downtown Austin area and quickly becomes sparse even a couple miles outside of city center. Rideshare apps such as Uber and Lyft are also great options but expenses can quickly add up as Austin rideshare rates are on the higher end and can surge very high during busy times, such as 2AM on weekends and during large events such as SXSW, conferences, F1, etc.

Yard Bar is almost within view of the studio and is a very trendy bar in Austin if you like dogs.

Summer Moon Coffee has been deemed “Austin’s Coffee” by many of the locals. Check it out! It’s right next to the studio. Be careful, not to order anything not to sweet though, ask the barista for his advice. :)

If you’re into the burger bar scene, go check out Hopdoddy! It’s around the corner from the studio and can offer a different taste than Whataburger.

If you need anything, Walmart is also right next door.

Getting Around:
Parking is provided for your vehicle, however if you don't have one, public transportation is very close and there are many walking and bike paths nearby.

• This unit is on a second floor and there are stairs on the outside of the building.

We reserved this studio for one month and arrived in the evening. An envelope with the studio number was on the counter and we thought it was a typical “welcome letter”. We opened it and found a notice to the host, Braden Scriven, to “vacate for nonpayment of rent, utilities, or other sums” effective 2 days after our arrival. We immediately called the Host number and reached Braden’s partner. Later we received a call back from Braden. Braden and his partner’s phone numbers originate from Canada and he was unaware of this notice that was delivered 3 days earlier. He assured us that this notice was in error and later tried to verify this with a document that did not show any connection to the address we rented. As our night proceeded, we used the toilet, and found that it rocked on the floor. When taking a shower, we found mold on the curtain liner. The amenities for this studio include a washer, dryer and “concierge” services. It’s possible that laundry services for the community are on the premises, but I did not see them. There are no concierge services on the premises but maybe Braden and his partner try to provide this support for Austin, Texas from Canada? Our 2-3 hour stay at this studio cost well over three thousand dollars. Braden suggested we stay at another property he owns in Austin while remedies were scheduled and completed. Honestly, after these initial experiences, we had no confidence in him or the quality of his property offerings. Braden Scriven said that the toilet and mold were minute fixes with bolts and Clorox. I’m sorry, but I have different expectations for places I rent. Braden Scriven of Nomaddicts, Inc. and VRBO made NO adjustments to our cost. VRBO (aka: HomeAway & VacationRentals.com) have a “Book with Confidence Guarantee”. Braden Scriven, Nomaddicts, Inc, and VRBO offered NO reimbursement for any of our trip loss. This has been a highly distressing, expensive and inconvenient travel experience."

- Please be aware that Texas is known for having all sorts of bugs and creatures, especially during the summer/when season changes/when it’s raining, that wander around and can sometimes get into the home. Bugs and creatures such as silverfish, earwigs, cockroaches/waterbugs, scorpions, spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, flies, snails, moths, ants, etc. are all very common in Texas and the South in general, and might show up in the home from time-to-time. The presence of a few of these critters, especially if they are found dead, does not indicate any sort of infestation in the home, as usually it's just the critters trying to escape the blistering heat or the freezing cold like everyone else.

- We would love to welcome guests who book our apartment the same day of their arrival, but please be aware that your check-in may be a bit delayed (to as late as 7 pm) as we rush to prepare the unit for your arrival. Guests who book more than 24 hours in advance will be able to check-in by 4 pm.
- We provide all of our guests a starter kit of consumables such as toilet paper, paper towels, laundry pods, etc. Guests can purchase any additional consumables from nearby grocery stores that you think you might need during your stay beyond what's included in the starter kit.
- The apartment complex may run maintenance or clean the gym, and other shared amenities as they see fit at any time. Please be aware.
- Please be aware that Texas is known for having all sorts of bugs and creatures, especially during the summer/when season changes/when it’s raining, that wander around and can sometimes get into the home. Bugs and creatures such as silverfish, earwigs, cockroaches/waterbugs, scorpions, spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, flies, snails, moths, ants, etc. are all very common in Texas and the South in general, and might show up in the home from time-to-time. The presence of a few of these critters, especially if they are found dead, does not indicate any sort of infestation in the home, as usually it's just the critters trying to escape the blistering heat or the freezing cold like everyone else.
- For longer term stays over 30 days, guests are required to pay for monthly full-home cleaning services at $65/clean. This requirement cannot be waived and must be paid prior to each monthly cleaning service.

-Pets ARE allowed depending on size, please let us know beforehand and be upfront about bringing a pet to avoid cancellation. The following additional PER pet cleaning fee applies :

Everything in this space has been updated. Guests must reserve this space for 30 days (or more) – regardless of the nights you plan to stay.

The house comes with cable TV and WiFi, and guests can enjoy an expansive wrap-around deck and swing overlooking the backyard. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, a microwave and coffee pot, and other cookware for the at-home chef. The bedroom features a new Queen-size bed, a large dresser, and a relaxing reading chair.

Trees surround the windows in the living room which provide an excellent combination of privacy and natural light. Watch your favotire shows on on the SmartTV, connect to the Bluetooth speaker, or just relax on the porch swing.

Guests are provided with towels, soap, and some toiletries. A shared laundry room is located on the first floor. Parking (one space) is located off street. All we ask is that you are respectful of the place and that you don't smoke inside.

This spot is within walking distance of a grocery store (HEB) that is five blocks away, a corner store that is less than one block away, and also more than 30 top-Austin restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. The drive downtown takes around 10 minutes, and the #3 bus line – which is just two blocks away – also provides a direct downtown route.

My wife and I live right next door, and are happy to provide you with recommendations on everything there is to do in Austin; we’ve been living here since 1977.

This guest room is located in a quiet Austin, Texas home in north central Austin. This eclectic, folk art infused 1953 home has a vibrant and colorful scheme . Your room has it's own private entrance and opens up to a beautiful backyard oasis.

The space
The bedroom is vibrantly and uniquely designed. Your room has a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress topper, closet space, small desk, smart TV, wifi, towels, and a plush robe. The French doors allow for a nice view of the backyard. The floors are beautiful hardwoods and the room is tastefully decorated. Your shared bathroom is newly remodeled and vintage inspired and sits directly across the hall from your bedroom. It includes soap, shampoo, fresh towels, blow dryer, rain shower and small corner sink. Outside your door, you have a Jacuzzi spa and pool for your enjoyment. This home is for someone looking for a quiet space.
The home is shared and I do have other rooms that I rent. Quiet hours are after 10:00 pm and before 8:00 am. The patios, pool, hot tub are considered shared space and quiet hours are strictly enforced in all common areas.

We are not located downtown! We are 5 miles north of downtown. 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

The space
Mi casa es su casa! My home is situated in an established neighborhood in north central Austin. The house is charming and colorfully decorated with folk art, hardwood floors and Mexican tiles throughout.
Your room is beautiful and peaceful and with the layout of the house it offers complete privacy. The rental is located at the far end of the house. Every window has pull down blinds and all doors can be locked for your complete private oasis. You can come and go through your own keyless coded door without having to walk through the main house and the doors to your room can be locked from the rest of the house.
This 500 square foot space is completely self-contained. There is a small private bathroom with a sink, shower and toilet. The bedroom has 1 queen size bed with memory foam topper and a futon couch that folds down to a full size bed for a 3rd person. There is a TV, stereo with ipod connection, indoor speakers, Keurig coffee maker, filtered water, ceiling fan, armoire, ironing board/iron and internet access in your room. All towels, linens, pillows, pool towels, blow dryer, soap and shampoo are also provided.

Your door leads to a backyard paradise including a huge back patio with a fire pit, mature trees, hot tub jacuzzi and a lap pool for your enjoyment.

Breakfast is not included but I do provide coffee and tea which is available in your room.

Our home is open, comfortable, clean and smoke free.

The home is very uniquely decorated with color and art from Latin America.

Guests are given complete privacy!

I sometimes rent another guest room. The patio, pool and hot tub are shared space. Quiet hours are strictly enforced between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am

Please check to be sure my location is right for you. I am not downtown. Downtown Austin, UT, Zilker Park, Austin Convention Center, Barton Springs and Austin's entertainment district are all approximately 5 miles away and can be reached by car or public transit. There is a bus stop within walking distance (.5 mile). There are plenty of restaurants, parks and grocery stores near the property.I do recommend renting a car or using Cars 2 Go. Public transportation is not the best if you really want to see and experience Austin and all of the great things it has to offer.

We are a licensed short term rental with the city of
Austin. The City of Austin has a no outdoor noise code that is strictly enforced between the hours of 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. In order to preserve the relationship I have with my neighbors and keep with in Austin City code, I ask that if you are planning a party weekend, my home is not the right place for you. Outdoor noise after 10:00 PM will not be tolerated and is cause for removal from the property.

The Cozy Allendale Apartment Hideaway is a 1 bedroom apartment over our detached garage in North Central Austin.

Our lovely one bedroom apartment is situated in the trees over our detached garage. It is a peaceful retreat with one bedroom, a private bath room with shower and full kitchen. The bedroom has a very comfy queen sized bed with fresh cotton sheets. The main room has a dinning table and sitting area. The couch in the sitting area can be another place to sleep and pulls out into a sofa bed. We can comfortably accommodate up to 3 adults.

The apartment has a flat screen television and stereo. There is high speed wireless internet available to guests.

The kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge/freezer and ice maker. There is a stove top and oven, as well as microwave and French press to make coffee. The dining table can seat up to six.

We are happy to give directions or advice about activities and restaurants. We are a busy family and often on the go, so we do not spend a lot of time hanging out with our guests.

I love our neighborhood for the big beautiful trees. We are an easy drive to downtown and many great restaurants, but still quiet and tucked away from the noise and commotion of busier parts of town.

We are in North Central Austin (Allendale neighborhood), a 15-20 minute drive to downtown. We are in just a few blocks from 2 Capital Metro bus stops. We do not have private parking for apartment guests, but there is plenty of free parking on the street in front of our house.

We have had guests use the bus and there is a stop near our house. It is easier to stay here with a car. There are also ride sharing options in town.

Other things to note
We have recently installed an above ground pool that is not separated from the apartment. Because of this we feel that it is not a safe place for small children to stay.

This unit is a second story studio unit perfect for a couple or even a couple with one or two kids. There is one queen size bed but there is a couch and a twin mattress available for additional guests. There is a full kitchen with gourmet stove, fridge, dishwasher, and full-sized washer and dryer. This place would be great for anyone needing a place for a longer stay in Austin.

There is lots of parking available. The unit is accessed through a private gate with a lock-box for the keys. You must be able to climb a flight of stairs to use this unit.

This is a quiet family-friendly neighborhood. No parties are allowed but family gatherings are encouraged!

Service dogs are welcome but if you are bringing a service dog you should be aware that both the ADA regulations and the Airbnb Terms of Service provide that the service dog can never be left alone in the unit without the guests of such service animal . This is a walking paradise in tree lined central Austin. A short walk from the Flat you will find outstanding restaurants, shops, HEB, bars, ice cream and more. A quick drive south will take you to gorgeous downtown Austin or go north for shopping/dining at The Domain or to catch an Austin FC game at the new Q2 stadium. Don’t feel like going out? The Flat also has a full kitchen and a super cozy queen bed. The bedroom is on the second floor with a view of the lush trees. Just what you need.

The space
We are fellow travelers and understand what it takes to have a comfortable and pleasant stay. The apartment has been prepared to give you an amazing travel experience including parking, private entrance, seamless check-in with coded entry lock, meticulously clean space, outdoor patio area and full kitchen.

When you arrive, enter through the wood gate to the left of the main house. Then walk through the covered patio area to find the dedicated entrance with keypad entry. Once inside, you will find the full kitchen, breakfast nook and sitting area all on the ground floor. Take the stairs to find the bedroom, bathroom and closet.

The bathroom is accessed through the bedroom on the second floor. Guest(s) on the sofa bed would need to climb the stairs and pass through the bedroom to use the bathroom.

The rental includes the covered porch area that has different pieces of furniture for sitting and relaxing, making it ideal for enjoying your morning coffee or an afternoon zoom call. The front porch area is enclosed with a fence.

Other things to note
The HVAC unit is operated via Nest Thermostat located in the bedroom and it controls the entire apartment. The thermostat will allow temperature adjustment in the range of 69 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The thermostat is also on a basic schedule which will default the apartment temperature to mid 70 degrees in the late mornings and after-hours to preserve energy. However, the manual override will allow temp adjustment.

Quiet residential street off Shoal Creek Trail for bike or hike. 10 min drive to Lady Bird Lake Hike & Bike trail + Downtown. Live like a Local. Room to spread out with 850 square feet. Hosts live on site.

The space
Enter at the side of the main house, turn up the Stairs to enter your apartment. Living area with Kitchen has a serene view of the backyard and tall trees. Light and Airy space. Two bedrooms with new Queen beds share a full bathroom in the hallway. 850 square feet of living space - plenty of space to spread out. Dedicated work area with standing desk and Herman Miller chair. Kitchen is equipped with Refrigerator, Microwave, dishes, utensils, electric kettle, coffee maker and other basics. Quiet residential area walking distance to Burnet Road shops + restaurants and HEB grocery.

Guest access
Guests do not have access to backyard. Guests do not have access to Driveway (please park on the street in front of the house, there is plenty of free street parking). Guests do not have access to the Washer/Dryer. Guests have access to the upstairs apartment only.
