I remember thinking The Ponds at Foxhollow would be a perfect location for big families and large groups that might like ultimate frisbee or volleyball. We are looking forward to returning to take advantage of the pool, canoe, tennis courts, and the paddle boat. The Berkshires is rich with culture. We traveled North Adams to visit MCLA and later, from The Ponds at Foxhollow, we drove just 11 minutes south toward Stockbridge to experience the beautiful landscapes at the Botanical Gardens. I miss Tanglewood concerts! We did take advantage of having the kitchen in the spacious condo by buying breakfast food, snacks, coffee, and tea to keep "eating out" costs to a minimum. Each morning, we ate breakfast on the lanai overseeing the pond with the white marble bridge and the tiny water fountain around which the family of geese took their morning swim :)"

This lovely lakefront cottage has been a favorite family gathering place of ours for 30 years. It sits on picturesque Lower Goose Pond in the heart of the Berkshires.

The property is situated on a dead end street of a private lake community. The house is just over 1,000sf with a deck overlooking a large yard and the lake. The lakefront yard is big enough for a family game of whiffle ball or to throw a frisbee around. The first floor has the kitchen, living room (with a couch to sleep 5), a full bathroom, and a bedroom with a full size bed. Ascend a wooden spiral staircase to access the spacious master bedroom and bath. Outdoor furniture and a gas grill off the kitchen make outdoor dining easy. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, as well as dishes and other essentials. We provide bed linens and bath towels, and there is a washing machine and dryer in the basement.

There is a dock on the property, and two kayaks and a canoe are available for your use. There is a public boat launch nearby if you want to bring your own powerboat, sailboat or jet ski. Clear water makes for great swimming. The main lake is connected to Upper Goose by a small estuary. Approximately 30-45 minutes by kayak or canoe, Upper Goose is environmentally protected and free from development – just the lake, surrounding mountains, and unspoiled nature.

Please note that the cottage is not winterized, so it is available in spring, summer, and fall.

The cottage is walking distance to the Appalachian Trail, and a short drive to Lee (close enough to bike to), the Outlets, Tanglewood, and all that the Berkshires has to offer. The house is a newly constructed cruck timber frame designed by Jack Soban made from naturally treated local pine with cherry wood bracings, wide plank floors, georgeous craft mans work with an open floor plan and finished basement. There are 2 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom. The master bedroom is in the loft with a private balcony and a queen-size bed. The second bedroom on the main floor has a full-size bed. The bathroom has a luxurious clawfoot tub and steam shower. The kitchen is well equipped with high quality stainless steel appliances. There is also an outdoor grill. The house sits on 97 wooded acres with old stone walls and logging roads great for hiking. It is very quiet and peaceful here yet you don’t have to go too far to be at the finest destinations the Berkshires have to offer including Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, Kripalu (17miles), Ski Butternut, MassMoCa, and The Dreamaway Lodge less than 5 miles away! We are currently looking to rent the home for a long term period.

Continue to enjoy the fresh mountain air outside as the log cabin sits on 13 acres of verdant forest biodiversity. Guests can enjoy a large open grass lawn (perfect for frisbee, touch-football, picnicking or even small weddings), at night, the sky dazzles with stars, and the grounds twinkle with fireflies. During warm months, the lawn is framed by a goldenrod field that fills with butterflies. A short path connects the lawn to a small pond that is fed by a babbling brook and surrounded by tall hemlock, oak, birch, and beech trees. The brook connects to a second small pond, also on the property. Perfect for meditating, yoga sun salutations, or simply taking in the forest sounds of croaking bullfrogs, rushing water, and wind rustling through tall trees. The ponds are filled with wildlife: salamanders, frogs, minnows, tadpoles. It's even possible to ice skate (at your own risk) in winter. There is also a magical treehouse (for young visitors only). The first floor has an open floor plan from the kitchen to the dining room to the living room.

The kitchen is a perfect spot to start. It has everything you need to whip up home cooked meals including a flat electric cooktop, microwave, open shelving and a garbage disposal. Kitchen is stocked with all the cooking/serving necessities including: cookware, pots, pans, plates, cups, and silverware. A coffee pot is available for your morning coffee. True dining room with seating for all six of your guests.

The kitchen opens to the living room which has plenty of seating for your entire group. In the living room there is a television, it's a smart TV including access to YouTubeTV, so has the ability for you to connect your streaming apps to enjoy your shows.

One flight up leads to the two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a queen size bed as well as a full ensuite bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a shower while the other one has a bath/shower combo.There is also a half bathroom on the first floor.

Over an acre of grounds surround the house. Outdoor area features a porch, fire pit, area, and propane grill.

This cottage built in the 1950's has recently been completely renovated from stem to stern to bring it up to date with the most current design standards. It is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom space with a large front yard and beautiful backyard for grilling.

Explore the best of Lenox and the Berkshires activities and fare! Sitting in this cottage surrounded by forest, you really feel like you are in the shire!
The space
Features include a beautiful dining room surrounded by windows and backyard patio access to enjoy the lush forests adjacent to the space. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and appreciate the beautiful greenery in the spring, summer and stunning fall colors as the leaves change.

The home is centrally located close-to-town, near Ventfort Hall, which actually borders our backyard!

Everything in Lenox is walking distance to the home 5-10 mins depending on which side of town. You can fancy one of many great restaurants in town, walk to Shakespeare and Company for a day of festivals and shows, or head to Tanglewood (right down the street) for a picnic on the great lawns accompanied by Symphony Number 9.

The home is also close to The Norman Rockwell Museum, Chesterwood, Jacobs Pillow, Bish Bash Falls, Williamstown. And just 10 minutes away from Butternut, Catamount or Bosquet, and a half hour from Jiminy Peak - all great skiing resorts in the wintertime!

- "Check in was straight forward and seamless. Owner communication was friendly and quick. I cannot rave enough about the cleanliness! It's rare to find a vacation rental this clean. Rooms and spaces are well equipped and comfortable. It's nestled into the woods just enough that you aren't bothered by traffic on the nearby road but it's proximity to Lenox is great, easily walkable but out of the busiest part of town. The QR code for the WiFi is cleverly on coasters in the living area, they just happened to be tucked away when we first arrived so it took a minute to figure that out. The TV has streaming services from the owner's accounts. We travel with a Roku stick and the TV mount made it impossible to plug in, but you can find or install most anything va the logged in accounts (we didn't watch much TV, there's plenty other entertainment!) We really enjoyed eating outdoors and in the sunroom. We had evening events most nights so didn't use the firepit or grill but noted they are in really good condition. Window A/C was plenty, the house is shaded most of the time. We come from a dry state and frankly used A/C more for the humidity than the heat (we had a few really warm days when it was truly necessary)."

The Beaver Dam is a sunlight-filled & recently renovated cabin tucked in the woods, overlooking the October Mountain State Park and steps away from Basin Pond. We are located close to a number of excellent ski slopes. Our cottage is the last house on a private road and right next to protected forest. You can't ask for more privacy, peace and quiet than you'll find at our little piece of paradise on the pond!

The space
The Beaver Dam on Basin Pond is an 1,800 square foot home that allows you to slip away to a comfortable and private hideaway in the woods without being too far removed from society. From the steps of our house, you can walk right out the door and onto multiple hiking trails. The Basin Pond Trail, maintained by the BNRC, is literally outside our door! We are within 10 minutes of grocery stores, shopping, hiking, lakes and the Appalachian Trail is under 1/4 mile away!

Guests have full use of the house & property, including the laundry room, deck, wood shed, and screened-in porch. Enjoy!

Other things to note
The Beaver Dam has a large TV and DVD player but no cable access. Guests do have access to Netflix and Hulu through the Apple TV. The Beaver Dam does not have AC throughout the entire house. There is a window unit in the kitchen window on the main floor, which keeps that entire floor cool. We have ceiling fans and floor fans in the upstairs bedrooms to keep the space cool in the summer, but if you need sub-zero temps to sleep during the summer then utilize the bedrooms on the basement-level which stays very cool! We recommend guests renting the house during the winter bring a vehicle with 4WD to get up Beaver Dam Road in the event of snow and ice.

Pros of TBD:
1) Spectacular views from the den, deck and master bedroom of Basin Pond and October Mountain State Forest.
2) Peace and quiet! We are at the end of the road with only one neighbor to the right of the house. If you're seeking seclusion then this is your spot!
3) Well-stocked home with pretty much any essential you could need. The house is maintained in a way that should make you feel at home and not searching around for basic items you might need. Read over our amenities to confirm what's always kept at the house!

Cons of TBD:
1) We have AC units in the upstairs guest bedroom and kitchen window to use during the peak of the summer, plus ceiling fans and floor fans. They work well but if you're looking for central AC then that is not something this home offers.
2) Peace and quiet! Beaver Dam Road is a private road with only about 8 homes in the neighborhood and we are at the very end. We are a 10-minute drive to the downtown area of Lee, MA. If you're looking for something within walking distance of cafes, shops & restaurants then this home will not suit your needs.

Welcome to the Berkshires!
Come relax and unwind amongst the trees in a private community walking distance to the pristine Goose pond. A private lake with a quiet beach and canoes to explore upper and lower portions of the lake. Come the colder months, hunker down surrounded by vibrant fall colors or snow sitting next to one of the two wood burning fireplaces. You will feel secluded while still being near the charming town of Lee with plenty of restaurants, shops and anything else you may need.

The space
Surrounded by towering maples and oaks, you'll find a charming classic shingled cottage, secluded from all other houses. There is a fire pit and adirondacks to enjoy evening fires and plenty of other outdoor activities for family fun such as ping pong, and cornhole. Upon entering you will find the downstairs Tv/ rec room with wood burning fireplace and three bedrooms, including the kids bunk room.

Note: the living room/ kitchen and primary bedroom are located upstairs. The open floor plan includes a kitchen with all new appliances, dining room and living room with wood burning fireplace and the primary bedroom. On one side there is a screened-in porch that gives tree house vibes with another dining table and plenty of comfortable seating options. On the other side is a large deck with two sun loungers, more adirondacks and a bistro table to enjoy some coffee in the trees. Two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The split system units cool the whole house. They are located in the primary, the living room and the down stairs movie room.
