It was super clean and nicely decorated and had a lot of nice touches like white noise machine, super-cute kitchen with coffee available, and TWO big screen TVs!" - "It was nice & issues we had were taken care of. Was hoping for more of a refund out of courtesy because of paint smell coming from below us. Something to keep in mind, climbing 15 stairs frequently. The Property
We have three bedrooms. The Master suite has two queen size beds for four people, five if someone uses the couch. It has its own bathroom, the couch and two large closets. Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and a bunk bed for four people, five if two people share the bottom bunk. It has a walk-in closet. Bedroom 3 has a full size bed and a bunkbed for 3 people (4 sharing the bottom bunk) with a large closet. Bedroom 2 & 3 share a nearby bathroom. Sharing a bunk bed is a little cozy and the couch isn’t the same as a bed, so we say 11 instead of 14. We would charge $50/person for the extra three, in a Special Offer.

Share: Six people at $75/night is $450/night. Our pricing of $379/night and $429/week end night is under $75 for six people, but over for fewer people. We will provide a Special Offer that restricts the number of rooms available and adheres to the $75/person/night pricing if you are willing to share the unused rooms with others during your stay. Two people in BR3 for $150 or 4-5 people in BR2 for $300+ for example.

Private: If you prefer exclusive/private use of the whole house and all three bedrooms, our Special Offer would be $450/night for up to six people and $75/person additional for 7-11 people. Eleven people would be $825/night for example.

We have a separate Studio (currently no running water) and camping, which can expand our accommodations. If you plan a 50-100 person event, we will work with local motels.

Pets: One acceptable pet, no additional charge. Additional dogs (say 1-2) who are house trained, not a danger to others, stay off the furniture and don’t scratch the walls or furniture are welcome at a $50 extra charge. Cats with a mind of their own could be a problem unless in a cage with access to a litter box you provide. No alligators, boa constrictors or tigers. A turtle in a container, probably ok. You are responsible for any damage caused by your pet and to clean up their stool outside. Let’s talk about any other pet issues.

Guest Access
If you book the house only without scheduling an event, like a birthday party or a wedding, we limit access to the area around the Sanctuary. If you book an event we have seven event spaces to which you can have access.

Once you book your stay, you will receive Warren's cell phone number. Call or text him any time before, during or after your stay to work out anything you need to plan or solve. Do not leave a voice message. He responds to texts and calls as quickly as possible.

For the most part you will be free to enjoy the property without interference from Warren or Pearl; however, if you schedule The Human Journey, Step by Step Financial Planning, a Murder Mystery Evening, or another event we will be actively involved in guiding that experience.

Our sons grew up and moved away and we miss having interesting people in our home. We moved into this beautiful retreat in February 2019. We're surrounded by woods & have a pond out back. We feed the deer, ducks, squirrels, and birds, so we always have critters around. Despite feeling like we're out in the middle of nowhere, we're actually right in town, close to gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, and more. We look forward to sharing our home with you.

The space
Your room is just off the main living area - the other bedrooms are on the other side of the house. Your bed has recently been updated with cooling linens, a selection of pillows, and new towels for your bathroom.
You have a mini fridge in your room, along with a large desk for your business activities.
Although your bathroom is technically our “guest” bathroom, unless you are staying with us long term, it is unlikely that anyone else would use it.
The kitchen is fully loaded with tons of pots, pans, and gadgets.
There is a fantastic screened porch for relaxing.
Gary built a cornhole course in the backyard overlooking the pond. And he LOVES to play, if you need any competition.
We also have pool and ping pong in the basement if you’re into recreation.

This is a SHARED home! We are a busy family on 12 acres very close to downtown Delaware and 30 minutes from Columbus. We are an "as-is" home...nothing fancy, but a place to sleep, a friendly family, and eggs & toast if desired. We have dogs, cats , rabbits, bees & chickens. You can collect eggs, pet the bunnies and observe the bees and purchase their honey. During this phase of life we can offer a 2nd floor bonus room that can sleep up to 5 with a SHARED full bathroom.

The living areas can all be shared, including the kitchen & living room, although our family is often in these areas. The sleeping quarters are private, comfortable and have reading material and games. We have plenty of gravel driveway parking and land with a creek to roam. Breakfast is available depending on the day and my work schedule. You are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare your own food. It gets a LOT of use by the adult children in the home, so please don't expect it to be in pristine shape all the time. The Airbnb room has a mini fridge.

Laundry is available for $5 per wash & dry.

Our water has a high iron content. We have a whole house softener, but it doesn't completely eliminate the iron content.

This home was built in 1870 and is a amazing part of Delawares history. Sometime in the 1970's the house was converted to a two bedroom unit. We have fully renovated the two bedroom apartment but left many original details throughout.

History lovers retreat! Forsythe House is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Delaware. Just blocks from shopping, dining, and walking trails, Forsythe House is a unique and elegant getaway that offers the charm of Grandma's house in a quaint, urban setting.

During your stay, you can browse our extensive collection of vintage and modern books in the library, play some old fashioned board games, or sit a spell and listen to a few of our many vinyls on our beautiful console record player.

The space
Forsythe House was built in 1850 and has changed hands many times over the 174 years that it has stood in Delaware.

Our story begins when a little girl named Katherine came to Forsythe House to visit her grandmother in the mid twentieth century. Katherine grew into an accomplished young lady, traveled, lived a rich life and then returned to Delaware. She was delighted to find that her beloved grandma's house was for sale and after she moved in, began to fill it with mementos from that rich life.

​Among other achievements, Katherine was a very talented seamstress and quilter. Most of her beautiful quilts have found their forever homes elsewhere, but one of them still hangs in the Forsythe House library. Katherine was also an avid reader, as evidenced by the spectacular collection of books in the library. Her diverse taste in literature ranged from collegiate studies and poetry to self help books and paperback novels.

​The family tradition continues, as Katherine's son, Peter, preserves and protects Forsythe House and some of Katherine's heirlooms for her grandchildren. We hope that Forsythe House will become a part of your family traditions as well!

Forsythe House is within walking distance to dining, antique shops, an amazing record store (Endangered Species), and a park with a huge playground, a pool, and walking trails. Ohio Wesleyan University is close by, as are the Delaware County Fairgrounds, the home of the Little Brown Jug harness races.

Just about 25 minutes away from Forsythe is the Polaris shopping area, with IKEA, Cabela's, Costco, a large mall, and other dining options. About 10 minutes north of Forsythe House is Delaware State Park, which has hiking trails, a beach, and frisbee golf.

The house is also very close to a couple wedding venues: The Farm at Harvest Hills, and The Homestead at Radnor.

Your host, Shelly, has lived in Delaware for 24 years, and would be happy to give you insider tips on the area.

The entire interior of the house is available for use. The butler's pantry in the dining room as well as the screened in porch upstairs are off limits to guests. The front and back porches are available for use, as is the shared driveway, deck and yard space between the house and outbuildings, as well as directly behind the carriage house.

This is a second-story unit on a slope with a large staircase (30 steps) at the back of the house from the parking area and a shorter staircase (16 steps) at the front with street access.

Be advised, for folks who may be uncomfortable around dogs, our downstairs tenants have a dog, and our neighbors have dogs that may be outside in their fenced yard when you arrive. They might bark as you walk by.

DOG OWNERS: We're big fans of furry pals, and you're more than welcome to bring yours along for a small cleaning fee. Just a heads up: make sure you stick with your dog at all times, keep them leashed when outdoors, and remember to tidy up after them. We love to host people on our farm! Sharing the land is one of our favorite aspects of living here. There’s multiple places for you to explore the outside during your stay! The gardens and the animals will add to your experience. The guesthouse is attached to the back of the detached garage of our home. It has its own parking spot and entrance.

The kitchen and living space have lots of natural light and a private deck that overlooks green hills and an original stone spring house from the early 1800’s. It’s a peaceful place to start your day!

There are two bedrooms as part of the guest house. One with the queen bed, and one with the daybed and a pull out trundle. Quiet and cozy, you will sleep well here!!

During the day you will be able to enjoy the outdoor spaces of the farm, meet the animals, walk the trail into the woods, swing on the rope swing or explore the treehouse. We have chickens, horses, goats and our donkeys Oliver & Charlie, who love hugs and being fed hay!

We can customize your experience here with a private animal tour, a favorite of many, for just $25. During the hour-long experience, you will get to meet, brush and feed the animals, hold the bunnies and possibly gather the chicken eggs. It's going to be a memory you won't forget! She loves to stand awkwardly in front of your cars and might even bark at your tires, but she always moves out of the way as you go by!

Built-in 1867, this spacious home with high ceilings sleeps 11 people in the beds & 12 with the couch. All of the necessities are provided with the exception of hygiene products.

🧼 LONG STAYS: If booking 7+ nights, you agree to mid-stay cleans. For 7-14 nights there is 1, for 14-21 nights there are 2, for 21-28 nights there are 3, plus the end of stay cleaned paid for when you book. The mid-stay cleans are $125 each and a request will be sent that you need to accept prior to check-in.

🐾 PETS: Dogs (and no other animal) are permitted with prior authorization and payment of a pet fee. If you would like to bring a pet, please ask for more information on our pet policies prior to booking.

🌳 EXTERIOR: There is street parking available, and 3-4 cars can fit in the gravel parking area in the back of the house. The backyard is entirely fenced in, and has several beautiful beautiful species of mature trees that provide a canopy when the trees have leaves. There is a fire pit, a back patio with furniture for seating and a small front porch. The neighborhood has sidewalks. Be sure to take a walk down the alley, providing picture perfect, award-worthy photography opportunities in the spring and fall! Keep an eye out for the albino squirrel.

🚮 TRASH: Tuesday morning is trash day first thing in the morning (unless Monday was a federal holiday, then trash day is Wednesday morning). If you stay at the home on a Monday night, please put the blue trashcan and blue recycle bin on the curb Monday evening for pick up Tuesday morning, and please kindly return it to its storage location off the patio after trash pick up Tuesday. Just roll it up and down the alley, but be sure not to block the alley with the trashcan. If you are unable to do this, please let us know prior to check-in so we can arrange -- we do not want trash to pile up.

Old Yeller house is in the historic Northwest neighborhood of Delaware City. Just 2 1/2 blocks from the edge of town where antiquing, restaurants, and Ohio Wesleyan University sit on the main Street called Sandusky Street. Nearby attractions include the famous Columbus Zoo, 11 miles away; Cosi Science museum,
24 miles away; Columbus short north, 23 miles away and a couple dozen parks with nature centers, and trails to enjoy. Delaware’s first Friday’s are street fairs with great reputation

The space
The home has a large front porch with bike trail route at street. We are a short 2 1/2 block walk to heart of town. The back deck is quiet with beautiful yard and hot tub. The house is farmhouse in style, comfortable, cozy and full of nostalgia. There is plenty of comfort with 3 King beds, a queen, double and large sofa that is great to sleep on.

Over 3000 ft.² is yours to enjoy holding up to 14 people comfortably in twin, full, queen and king size beds! Most of the house is hardwood but there is carpet on the stairs, in the game room and in the primary suite on the 3rd floor. The home was completely renovated in 2024, and you’ll enjoy a modern farmhouse decor throughout the space.

📍 LOCATION: Central Avenue is exactly what it says, it’s the center of it all. You’ll be within steps of downtown Delaware restaurants, shopping, antique shops, galleries and more. Ohio Wesleyan University is within walking distance. Boardman arts Park is around the corner. The fairgrounds is just up the road. You are about 3 minutes to Rt 23, about 15 minutes to I-71, and about 15 minutes to Rt 315. Enjoy the historic northwest neighborhood of Delaware, Ohio and be close to so much more!

🎯 GAME ROOM: The 2nd floor features a sunroom that is set up as a game room including a 40” Roku TV, board games, a tee-pee, a 10 game foosball / pool / hockey table, a large beanbag chair, a card table, and more!

💼 DESK: The 2nd floor features a work from home area with a comfortable chair and desk.

🛏️ BEDROOMS: The house is 3 stories but there are bedrooms on every floor! There are bedrooms suitable for couples, individuals and/or children so that everybody in your group can have a great time! If someone cannot walk upstairs, the 1st floor has a bedroom with a queen size bed (sleeps 2). The 2nd floor has 3 more bedrooms with a king (sleeps 2), 2 twin bunks (sleeps 4), and a twin over full bunk (sleeps 2-3). The 3rd floor primary suite is amazing and large, holding 2 king size beds (sleeps 4) with plenty of space left to move around comfortably. This sleeps a total of 14-15 comfortably. Every bedroom has a Roku TV ranging in size from 43-55”.

🛁 BATHROOMS: There is a ½ bathroom on the 1st floor, a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo on the 2nd floor, and a full bathroom with a tile shower on the 3rd floor.

🧺 LAUNDRY: There is a laundry room with a utility sink, washer and dryer. Guests are welcome to use these during their stay.

🧑‍🍳 KITCHEN: The kitchen has plenty of counterspace if you would like to cook at home! Granite countertops, white cabinetry, subway tile backsplash, and the kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, a toaster/air fryer, Keurig, regular coffee pot, mixing poles, plates, bowls, glasses and mugs. The pantry has shelving as well as racks on the door. The dining table seats 8 and there are 2 barstools at the peninsula.

🛋️ FAMILY ROOM: The L-shaped couch (seats 6) is a great place to hang out and watch the 55” Roku TV or be able to interact with anyone on the 1st floor! There are 2 comfortable side chairs and an ottoman. You can also enjoy the beautiful electric fireplace.

🌳 BACK DECK: In the back, there is a wood deck with seating, a fire pit and a gravel seating area. It’s a private area surrounded by trees and fencing.

🚘 PARKING: The driveway can hold 3, possibly 4 cars in tandem. If you have more cars than that, they will need to park around the corner in street parking.

🐾 PETS: Dogs only (no other animals) are permitted at an additional fee of $150 per pet — however, we do reserve the right to reject pets and may request additional details about your pets. Please note, there is not much yard space so you do need to be prepared to walk your pet on the sidewalk. Please come with what you need to pick up after your pet, as well, whether in the yard around the house or when you take your dog on a walk.

🔒 KEYPAD & SECURITY: During your stay, you will have a 4 digit code that you will utilize for the keypad and security system. We do not hand out physical keys. You do not have to arm the security system if you do not want to but it will be armed upon your arrival. Plan to enter through the side door, not the front door.

Welcome to The Willis House in Delaware, Ohio. Situated on 5 wooded acres with river front access to the Olentangy River. Our historic home is conveniently located close to The Ohio State University, Downtown Columbus, and the charming downtowns of Powell and Delaware Cities. Built in 1884 and thoughtfully renovated in 2022. The Willis House has the charm of a historic home with and all the modern conveniences. With 5 bedrooms, 4 and a half bathrooms, and a family room off the kitchen. This home also offers a traditional Victorian parlor, a music room, a den (that can be used for additional dining) and 7 different porches or decks.
The bedrooms offer sleeping arrangements for up to 12 people.

Guest access
You can access the home anytime after 4 PM by using the Keyless Keypad to enter with your unique code that is sent 3 days before arrival. We ask that you respect our home and the quiet hours of the community.

We do our best to accommodate early check-ins or late checkouts when possible. These are subject to availability and scheduling; if available, we charge $20 per hour.

If you're interested in either option, please reach out the night before check-in and or the night before check out so we can check the calendar and get back to you quickly, as we do have.

-Unauthorized pets will result in a $300 additional cleaning fee.
-Or, if pet-friendly: Well-behaved pets are welcome! $150 PER pet applies per dog or cat, with a max of 2 dogs or cats allowed (non-refundable)

-Pets must be leashed outdoors and not left unattended inside unless crated.
**Emotional support animals are accepted in the state of Ohio. Please just provide documentation after completing this form and there will be no charge.**

UTILITY/ENERGY POLICY
-Please turn off lights, set the AC/heat to 70-72, and turn off any electronics when not in use or when you leave the home. This helps protect the environment (and our owner's utility bill).

WEATHER/STORM POLICY
-We’re not responsible for weather-related outages, road conditions, or delays. If the weather may impact your travel or stay, please plan accordingly and secure travel insurance.

EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE POLICY

Newly finished expansive lower level with private entrance is all yours to enjoy! Boasting 2600 sqft with 9 ft ceilings, 3 bedrooms with ensuite master bathroom, 2nd full shared bathroom, fully stocked roomy kitchen, laundry, expansive great room & extra sleeping in the giant game room. Outdoors offers 3 acres of walkable woods, 8 ft fire pit & 900 square foot patio with a hot tub, lounge area & dining table. Only pictures of outside for now as professional pics of inside aren't available yet.

The space
This is a NON SMOKING, NO VAPING SPACE. There is a smoking area away from the house. That is the only place for smoking or vaping. No smoking on the patio or any other area of the property.

No matches or lighters are to be used indoors. There are battery operated candles for your enjoyment. The gas grill does not require an external source for lighting. It is push button.

We are 700 feet from the road. Our driveway is gravel with plenty of free parking.

Bring swim gear for the hot tub as the area is not completely private

Guest access
When approaching the address, watch for the solar lit street number sign. We have a shared access at the road that is paved . Once you turn in you will follow the gravel drive that splits to the left (2 more solar lit street number signs will guide you).

Park in the designated area in the gravel. Approach to the right of the garage and see the lit steps to go down. This is The Sunstone Place. There is contactless entry with a keypad at the door.

This is an entire lower level with a private entrance. There are 11 steps to go down to enter the space.

Other things to note
This is a NO PETS allowed space. We have 2 indoor dogs that are in the main upper level of the house only. We have 2 outdoor only cats.
