Shorecrest Lake Pines:

Beautiful lake area home centrally located between all of the attractions the central Oregon coast has to offer. This cozy and inviting home is sure to please the entire family with its privacy, large yard, and thoughtful floor plan. When you enter Shorecrest Lake Pines you will immediately feel at home with the comfortable open floor plan, great decor, and comfy furnishings. Just off of the living room is the spacious and well appointed kitchen to prepare meals and make memories. Also off of the living room is a spacious master suite with a queen bed and private bathroom, and then the second bedroom across the living room with a queen bed. The large living room has all of the comforts of home with a large flatscreen TV as well as a Murphy queen bed. This home has plenty of room for your boat or sand toys. If you require more space, the sister home is located next door and can be rented together.



Sutton Lake:

Sutton Lake is 125 feet deep at the dam and the dam is 210 feet high, 1178 feet long and 195 feet wide at the base and 1407 acres that is fed by the Elk River. It is a narrow lake that provides an intimate canoeing experience with coves and two arms that meander up the Elk and Holley River drainages. A great fishing spot with Largemouth bass, yellow perch, blue gill, rainbow trout



Mercer Lake:

Boat Launch - There are two public boat launches, First is about 1.5 miles further east on Mercer Lake rd watch for signs on your left. Second and slightly easier option, West on Mercer Lake rd to Bayberry rd turn right then an immediate right onto Archer Ln. Launch is at the end of the road, narrow road so best to back down Archer to water.



Mercer is a good sized lake listed at 341acres on the north side of Florence. Great largemouth bass fishing, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, seasonally stocked rainbow trout and some sunfish as well..

With a boat, you can poke around the long Dowell and Dahlin arms and many small coves and points around the lake. There are standing and fallen trees around the shoreline, as well as a fair number of docks, that add to the potential cover for bass and panfish.

This home is a quick drive to multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean 
beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road. The charming Old Town section of the city 
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.
 You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The 
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.

 Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to

 Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are 
offered daily.

Take the stairs to the firepit for roasting s'mores around a campfire in the sand, and follow the trail down to the river for a tranquil sight from the riverside bench.

The home is warm and welcoming, with vaulted wood ceilings and large picture windows brightening the interior. Grab a seat in the comfy living room, settling in front of the gas fireplace on a variety of furniture with a view of the river outside. I have relatives in Florence so 4 would have been nice, but I understand it is a rental for 2. The unit is behind a commercial business, so no neighbors on either side. The upstairs unit is quiet so it was like being in a single family home in the heart of downtown."

Traxlers Surfside Cottage is a new in 2015, 1,344 square foot beach front house with amazing views and an open floor plan. The kitchen, living and dining room, are all on the main floor with stunning views of Heceta Beach. Walk out on the front deck, and take a short path to the beach. The deck also wraps around the beach side of the house, so you have a wind protected place to sit on those windy summer days.

You'll also find a queen bedroom, a full size stack washer and dryer, and a full bathroom with a shower bathtub combo on the main floor. The kitchen features stainless appliances and granite countertops. You'll find a full size dishwasher, a built in wall oven, microwave, and a separate glass cooktop.

The primary bedroom is upstairs, with a king size bed, stunning views, a sitting area and it's own wind protected deck. There is also another bathroom, on this floor, with a shower bathtub combo. With this view, you'll never want to get out of bed. You'll also find a small table to put your lap top on and hold a zoom meeting or get some work done away from the rest of the group.

Siltcoos Lake:

The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.

It also is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.

Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.

Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon and is among those mentioned in our article, Best Largemouth Bass Fishing in Western Oregon.

You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake here, including fallen trees, drop-offs, points, islands and numerous coves and several longer creek arms. There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach.

Bass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. They will stage a bit more off shore at other times.

Crappie also like to hang out around structure and may be found in shallower water during the spring. Sunken trees and pilings are good places to start.

Also, the lake is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.

Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).

Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.

The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.

There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

 Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving, 
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail.

offered daily.
 Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road
 where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force 
the crabs out to the ocean.

There is also an uncovered parking space in front of house and OK to park in gravel area at the top of driveway.

Surf Sounds is located on a private street just .4 miles (4 blocks) from the beach. It's a 780 square foot studio house with attached RV Garage that will hold your full sized pick up with ATV trailer, the Harley or your car. It's nestled among pine trees and wild rhododendrons, in a fantastic sunny wind protected area. While you can't see the beach, you can listen to the sounds of the surf, and enjoy a quick stroll down to the beach with your dog or children.

This is a studio, so it's one large room. It has an alcove for the queen bed . It's light and bright with lots of windows. You can turn the TV to watch it from bed or the living room. The bathroom, has a shower bathtub combo, and there's a large walk in closet and pantry area to store your things.

The kitchen has a full size self cleaning electric range, microwave, full size refrigerator, a portable dishwasher and everything you'll need to cook. This is a great location for a couple, or a couple with a child. It also has a full size washer & dryer in the garage.

- "We have stayed in rentals all over the world for many years and this is one of the best places we've had. Don't let the fact it's a studio and has a pool table in the living area turn you off. It was very well stocked with modern kitchenware, furniture was comfortable, there was a good recliner, and the bed was good. There was plenty of room for 2 of us during our 10 day stay. It was located less than .5 miles from the beach so a great walk. It is a quiet neighborhood and and easy drive to groceries and other things in Florence. Mercer Lake:



Boat Launch - There are two public boat launches, First is about 1.5 miles further east on Mercer Lake rd watch for signs on your left. Second and slightly easier option, West on Mercer Lake rd to Bayberry rd turn right then an immediate right onto Archer Ln. Launch is at the end of the road, narrow road so best to back down Archer to water.



Mercer is a good sized lake listed at 341acres on the north side of Florence. Great largemouth bass fishing, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, seasonally stocked rainbow trout and some sunfish as well..

With a boat, you can poke around the long Dowell and Dahlin arms and many small coves and points around the lake. There are standing and fallen trees around the shoreline, as well as a fair number of docks, that add to the potential cover for bass and panfish.

Deja View is a 1644 square foot beachfront family gem that sleeps 6. It has panoramic views from every room and while it may have been built in 1980 the owners father was a mid-century guy who designed the house with mid-century flair mixed with 1970's Mediterranean style. We love its retro vibe and hope that those of you who love all things seventies will come enjoy this amazing home.

On the first floor you'll find a living room, kitchen & dining room which are one large room so no-one is going to miss anything while they're cooking, staring at the view, watching TV or playing a game. The wood stove sits dead center of the panoramic view so you can enjoy a toasty fire while storm watching in the winter. There is a dining room table for 6 and an additional table that you can do a jigsaw puzzle, play cards or enjoy your morning coffee. On this floor you'll also find 1 queen bedroom, a bathroom with shower, and a full size front load washer & dryer.

The Queen bedroom wall backs up to the living room and doesn't go all the way to the ceiling - as to allow the heat to move between rooms.

The second floor is 1 large game room, with more panoramic views, a pool table, wet bar, another bathroom. There is also a full size bed and 2 twins. This house will comfortably sleep 2 couples with plenty of room to spread out, or is great for 2 adults and up to 4 children. This is where you'll access the second floor deck. - "This was a great rental for me, my partner and 2 dogs. The home itself is a step back in time, such a trip! We really enjoyed the pool table and views from the deck, a short walk to beautiful Heceta beach which is never overly crowded somehow. Everything we needed to make some nice meals with halibut we purchased at Luna Sea in Yachats. I would mention if traveling with friends there is only one private bedroom-the second sleeping area is beds on the same open floor as the pool table- we opted to sleep up here for the view! This arrangement was just perfect for us. Leslie was a great host, friendly, and very responsive, just be aware you will need to sign a separate rental agreement for this home. We would definitely return to this house in the future, highly recommend!"

Huckleberry House:

Gorgeous Lake area home located near one of Oregons most beautiful lakes. Designed with large families in mind, Huckleberry house offers a master suite with king bed and private bathroom with beautiful views. The second bedroom has a full / twin combination bunk bed, and then the third bedroom has a queen bed. Bedroom two and three share a full bathroom and are located on the second floor along with the master suite. In the Living room you will enjoy the huge rock fireplace with plenty of comfortable seating that includes a queen sleeper sofa. Step into the Den for a little extra privacy to read your favorite book or catch up on those emails, the Den also includes a queen box hid abed for your extra guests. A public boat launch located just off of Canary rd is only a few minute drive and dune access is located across Hwy 101 then west onto south Jetty rd.



Woahink Lake:

Woahink lake is popular for a variety of activities, including fishing. Species include largemouth bass, rainbow and coastal cutthroat trout, yellow perch, and others. A state park on the east side of the highway near Woahink Lake has boat ramps, a roped-off swimming area, group tent camps, picnic areas, and a meeting hall. Lake Woahink Seaplane Base is located at the lake. Base headquarters are in Florence.



Covering about 7 square miles, Woahink Lake's drainage basin lies between a dune complex, part of Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, on the west and foothills of the Oregon Coast Range on the east. U.S. Route 101 runs along the west side of the lake. Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park borders the northwest corner of the lake, and the unincorporated community of North Beach lies between Woahink and Siltcoos lakes. North Beach and other residential areas near the lake are part of Dunes City, Except for the state park. Most of the shoreline and the land in the basin is privately owned. Rainfall averages 80 inches (2,000 mm) a year, and coniferous forest covers much of the undeveloped land.



The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is located on the Oregon Coast, stretching approximately 40 miles north of the Coos River in North Bend to the Siuslaw River in Florence, and adjoining Honeyman State Park on the west. It is part of Siuslaw National Forest and is administered by the United States Forest Service.

The Captain Cook is just 2 blocks from the beach. You can see the ocean from the street in front of the house, which is nestled among wild rhododendrons and windswept coastal pines. A large (1/4+ acre) lot envelops you in nature and opportunity to enjoy your coastal experience. A central entry and parking spot is gated from the street and has a second, large separately gated driveway with space for vehicles such as a toy hauler or boat trailer.
Once inside, the open floor plan with kitchen, living room, and dining room welcome you to 1100 square foot recently (2020) built home. Vaulted ceilings, large windows, and step-free entry from car to most outside entrances invite the outside in- and the inside out to the varied, and sometimes whimsical gardens and coastal forest. A separate entry to an to an apartment above is only used during the owners. occasional visits.
An eclectic mix of antique, exotic, and new furniture gives the home a cozy comfortable feel. A traditional oak table seating 4-6 is easily expanded if you want to have friends or relatives over for dinner. The living room has a sofa lounge, a large book collection, and a 43 inch TV with Roku streaming internet TV programming, and dimmable lighting throughout the home lets you set a mood for most every space.

The kitchen caters to those who like to socialize while cooking, having a large center island with seating for four, an unusual 5 burner electric range (with typical microwave above and of course a dishwasher), a very accessible french door refrigerator/freezer, and generously sized cabinets. The cooking tools, gadgets, and cooking and serving ware are supplemented with a stand mixer, bread maker, panini grill, blender, coffee maker, and even a waffle iron.
The amply-sized bedroom has a queen size bed, large closet, a direct door to the bathroom, and a sliding glass door out to a private deck with a view of the hillside garden (early cup of coffee, anyone?). There's also another streaming TV.
The office-tv-guest room across from the hallway door to the bathroom has a classic drop front desk with drawers and hanging clothes rack for additional guests, a large tv. A queen sofa-sleeper with a 5 inch memory foam mattress comfortably sleeps 2 adults or your children. Pocket doors into the hallway make the room as private or open as you'd like it to be.
A full-size front loading washer & dryer in the hallway, with iron, ironing board, folding area, complete the clean clothes scene, complemented by a large adjoining utility closet with folding drying rack, ample hanging space, and is also suitable for luggage stowage during your visit. The spacious bathroom features a large shower with seat and handheld option. An additional half bath is handy to the coat and shoe storage areas and leads out to another deck with dining table and woodside gardens.

Outdoors, a sunny patio area on the east end of the home has large wind-protected seating options with multiple chair/bench choices while screening vehicles from dominating the open sky feeling. A nearby covered gravel patio with pergola and transparent canopy is slightly more formal outdoor dining venue with a garden/woodside presence. Even the front entry has a sunny deck with adjoining gravel sunspot patio for informal breaks or socializing among plantings and native vegetation.

For the slightly adventurous, a one-time sand knoll, now forested, lies beyond a pergola to the 'wild side' of the property. Large trees crown the top, where the beam from Heceta Head lighthouse can sweep eerily past on misty nights. Bring a collapsible chair (hanging just inside the side door to the garage) to sit and read a book and feel like you're in the wilderness (you are!). While wandering about the property, be entertained by the unexpected? can you find the gnomes?

Now, what's with the name? Captain Cook (1728-1779) never landed in Oregon on his (- voyage in his 78 foot ship, the Resolution, in 1778)- he hardly saw it- and what he described as "snow" was most likely the sand dunes! He was the foremost navigator-explorer of his time. A good summary of his life and voyages is found in Wikipedia.

But wait, there's more- Joode, one of the owners, is a Brit, born near London, but spent her childhood summers in North Yorkshire- the birthplace of Captain Cook, and a monument to his memory caps Rosemary Topping, visible for miles around. And then- another connection- a best friend's great grandmother was the midwife who assisted in his delivery. It's a small world after all.

Homeowner Rich purchased a home on this site in 2002, living here full time until 2006, when he and Joode, having married in 2005, returned to her home in the UK. Rich retired in 2013 following careers in education, forestry and national parks, tours/travel in the USA, and retail garden centers in the USA and UK. Joode is retired from a nursing career with the UK National Health Service in Oxford and the nearby Cotswolds Area of Natural Beauty.

Beautiful lake area home centrally located between all of the attractions the central Oregon coast has to offer. Sutton Lake:

Sutton Lake is 125 feet deep at the dam and the dam is 210 feet high, 1178 feet long and 195 feet wide at the base and 1407 acres that is fed by the Elk River. It is a narrow lake that provides an intimate canoeing experience with coves and two arms that meander up the Elk and Holley River drainages. A great fishing spot with Largemouth bass, yellow perch, blue gill, rainbow trout



Mercer Lake:

Boat Launch - There are two public boat launches, First is about 1.5 miles further east on Mercer Lake rd watch for signs on your left. Second and slightly easier option, West on Mercer Lake rd to Bayberry rd turn right then an immediate right onto Archer Ln. Launch is at the end of the road, narrow road so best to back down Archer to water.



Mercer is a good sized lake listed at 341acres on the north side of Florence. Great largemouth bass fishing, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, seasonally stocked rainbow trout and some sunfish as well..

With a boat, you can poke around the long Dowell and Dahlin arms and many small coves and points around the lake. There are standing and fallen trees around the shoreline, as well as a fair number of docks, that add to the potential cover for bass and panfish.

This apartment is upstairs from a salon. There is a staircase next to the salon entrance, at the top of the stairs will be a locked keypad door. Once inside the apartment is the second door on the left.

Other things to note
This is a studio apartment with only a skylight. Please be aware this is upstairs unit of a salon and some noise from the salon may be heard while in the apartment.

If you are bringing a pet, please don’t leave them alone in the apartment, they should be crated or with you. If you plan on leaving them crated please let us know beforehand so we can be vigilant of barking or noise that might affect the other guests.

We invite you to join us on our property, in the heart of Florence. With only a short drive to the beach, our little 20' trailer has been completely remodeled to have a modern and bright vibe. We are within walking distance to historic old town, restaurants, grocery/ convenience stores, and a beautiful river front park. Enjoy the sunshine and outdoor activities in the summer and fall months or cuddle up for a couple days of rain and relaxation throughout the winter and spring.

The space
The queen bed is equipped with organic cotton sheets, a three inch memory foam topper and plush bedding. Though the bathroom is extremely small and the shower barely allows room for a full size adult, you will find extra towels and toiletries for use. The space is small, cozy and a good fit for a couple of people that like to be near each other.

The trailer is private and for guest use only. The trailer is situated in the back of our yard which is accessible to all on the property. We have a garden that provides fresh vegetables that are available to whomever spots the ripe items first. The race is on!
We have a firepit in the back that is dying to be used. We ask that you know what you're doing if you decide to build a fire, but it is an option if you're up for the task.

Other things to note
Free and clear detergent is used on all linens. We try to stay away from fragrance, but it gets tricky when trying to keep the trailer smelling fresh after each guest. Please feel free to contact me with any requests to omit bleach or certain detergents before your stay.

The space
This space is priced for 2 guests. An additional fee is charged for approved guests 3 and 4. No more than 4 can stay at the house at any time. This house is NOT designed for infants and small children.

Laundromat available in Florence but no laundry on site. No outside trash cans, trash will be picked up after guest stay.

There is no dock accompanying this property. Guests cannot access lake but can enjoy the view!

Guest access
Guests have access to inside of house, deck and yard. Owners are not on the property when guests are booked for their stay. There is no dock with the house or lake access. The lake is assessable at Dunes City - Siltcoos Lake ramp. The ocean is also close and can be reached South of town, or at either the South or North Jetty’s.

Other things to note
No pets allowed! No smoking anywhere on the property - thank you in advance for not smoking.

No infants or small children. Children age 12 and over preferred. Stairs are not recommended for younger children especially toddlers.

There is NO laundry available on site but there is a laundromat in Florence.

This apartment is part of a business complex. There is a salon downstairs and three apartments upstairs. There is a staircase next to the salon that will lead you up to a metal door with a passcode on it. You will enter a hallway where you will find your unit. There is keypads on all all three apartments. You will receive codes morning of check in for the hallway door and your apartment door as this gives the cleaner time to change them accordingly.

The space
This home has been a center for healing and has many unique features including a heated clay floor embedded with Jade in one of the bedrooms, a cozy wood stove in the living room, a yoga studio that heats up quickly (around 105 degrees for hot yoga :-), an outdoor sauna, hot/cold shower and cedar Japanese hot soaking tub, as well as garden beds in the front that are producing some fruit and veggies seasonally. These are some of the reasons we call Suniai a Sanctuary. All of this and you’re just a short walk to Old Town and the river.

Other things to note
Please be aware that while you have your own private space in the house, there may be other guests staying in the Suniai Suite on the backside of the house. They have separate access/entry. Your space and their space share a wall and so sound can travel from one space to the next.
With this in mind, please keep noise levels down in the later evening and early morning, and in general, just be considerate of other guests. We are all here to have sweet experiences ✨
