Shorecrest Lake Pines:

Beautiful lake area home centrally located between all of the attractions the central Oregon coast has to offer. This cozy and inviting home is sure to please the entire family with its privacy, large yard, and thoughtful floor plan. When you enter Shorecrest Lake Pines you will immediately feel at home with the comfortable open floor plan, great decor, and comfy furnishings. Just off of the living room is the spacious and well appointed kitchen to prepare meals and make memories. Also off of the living room is a spacious master suite with a queen bed and private bathroom, and then the second bedroom across the living room with a queen bed. The large living room has all of the comforts of home with a large flatscreen TV as well as a Murphy queen bed. This home has plenty of room for your boat or sand toys. If you require more space, the sister home is located next door and can be rented together.



Sutton Lake:

Sutton Lake is 125 feet deep at the dam and the dam is 210 feet high, 1178 feet long and 195 feet wide at the base and 1407 acres that is fed by the Elk River. It is a narrow lake that provides an intimate canoeing experience with coves and two arms that meander up the Elk and Holley River drainages. A great fishing spot with Largemouth bass, yellow perch, blue gill, rainbow trout



Mercer Lake:

Boat Launch - There are two public boat launches, First is about 1.5 miles further east on Mercer Lake rd watch for signs on your left. Second and slightly easier option, West on Mercer Lake rd to Bayberry rd turn right then an immediate right onto Archer Ln. Launch is at the end of the road, narrow road so best to back down Archer to water.



Mercer is a good sized lake listed at 341acres on the north side of Florence. Great largemouth bass fishing, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, seasonally stocked rainbow trout and some sunfish as well..

With a boat, you can poke around the long Dowell and Dahlin arms and many small coves and points around the lake. There are standing and fallen trees around the shoreline, as well as a fair number of docks, that add to the potential cover for bass and panfish.



What’s nearby:


This home is a quick drive to multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean 
beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road. The charming Old Town section of the city 
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.
 You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The 
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.

 Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to 
experience the unique natural wonders of this area.
 Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are 
offered daily.
 Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road
 where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force 
the crabs out to the ocean.

Take the stairs to the firepit for roasting s'mores around a campfire in the sand, and follow the trail down to the river for a tranquil sight from the riverside bench.

The home is warm and welcoming, with vaulted wood ceilings and large picture windows brightening the interior. Grab a seat in the comfy living room, settling in front of the gas fireplace on a variety of furniture with a view of the river outside. I have relatives in Florence so 4 would have been nice, but I understand it is a rental for 2. The unit is behind a commercial business, so no neighbors on either side. The upstairs unit is quiet so it was like being in a single family home in the heart of downtown."

Traxlers Surfside Cottage is a new in 2015, 1,344 square foot beach front house with amazing views and an open floor plan. The kitchen, living and dining room, are all on the main floor with stunning views of Heceta Beach. Walk out on the front deck, and take a short path to the beach. The deck also wraps around the beach side of the house, so you have a wind protected place to sit on those windy summer days.

You'll also find a queen bedroom, a full size stack washer and dryer, and a full bathroom with a shower bathtub combo on the main floor. The kitchen features stainless appliances and granite countertops. You'll find a full size dishwasher, a built in wall oven, microwave, and a separate glass cooktop.

The primary bedroom is upstairs, with a king size bed, stunning views, a sitting area and it's own wind protected deck. There is also another bathroom, on this floor, with a shower bathtub combo. With this view, you'll never want to get out of bed. You'll also find a small table to put your lap top on and hold a zoom meeting or get some work done away from the rest of the group.

The street side of the house has a driveway where you can park a truck and ATV Trailer - plus an additional car. .

Siltcoos Lake:

The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.

It also is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.

Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.

Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon and is among those mentioned in our article, Best Largemouth Bass Fishing in Western Oregon.

You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake here, including fallen trees, drop-offs, points, islands and numerous coves and several longer creek arms. There also are some docks, especially where there are a fair number of private homes along the banks on the west and north sides of the lake, many clustered around the communities of Dunes City and North Beach.

Bass will often move up into the shallower water during the spring, when they spawn just off shore, and they can be aggressive then. They will stage a bit more off shore at other times.

Crappie also like to hang out around structure and may be found in shallower water during the spring. Sunken trees and pilings are good places to start.

Also, the lake is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.

Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).

Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.

The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.

There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road, and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city 
is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants.
 You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The 
coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.

 Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to 
experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!
 Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving, 
three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail.
 Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are 
offered daily.
 Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road
 where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force 
the crabs out to the ocean.

Heron's Hideaway is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, good for strolling and taking in the local scenery. Dog owners note that property is not fenced, but surrounded by woods.

Parking notes: Steep driveway. There are 2 carports. The upper carport is appropriate for any size vehicles, but the carport closer to house is lower and may not accommodate larger cars. There is also an uncovered parking space in front of house and OK to park in gravel area at the top of driveway.

Older children are welcome, but this property may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.
