The space
Some people find my neighborhood to be hip and cool and their favorite neighborhood in Philadelphia, although, it’s not for everyone. I can promise that you will be cozy and comfy in your sunny furnished room in my large house across the street from a lovely park.

The reservation includes WIFI, a twin size bed, desk, chair, large wardrobe closet, and a lamp. A mini-fridge, microwave are also in the room for your use. It is a non-smoking, clean, quiet, well-maintained house that sits on a quiet friendly street. Quiet, cleanliness, resourcefulness, independence, and no smoking are important.

The house is a five minute car or bus ride to the University of Pennsylvania and only ten minutes to downtown. There is plenty of free street parking right in front of the house (very rare in the city). The 42 bus conveniently picks up at 51st & Spruce. Also, the 52 bus will drop you off at the high speed rail which will take you to center city in record time. Also, bike rental stations can be found throughout the neighborhood. A spacious newly renovated laundromat is just three blocks away. Sorry, but there is not a kitchen or washer and dryer.

The neighborhood is University City and is full of fun and exciting things to do. I will recommend many things to make your stay enjoyable and edifying. It is close to the universities and a vibrant mix of culture, restaurants, cafes, museums, and shopping.

This is a snug room with a window into the lounge area and ample storage space as well as built-in closet & desk to help you feel right at home, whether yours is a long or short stay. Sorry but continental breakfast isn't provided however, if I'm around I'll certainly offer you whatever I may have in terms of fruit at the time of your stay.

Guests have access to all public spaces including the basement half-kitchen (and inclusive laundry room) and up above on the first floor kitchen. The fenced-in back yard is also available to guests, I just ask that they lock or re-latch doors and the fence when done and also clean up after themselves and not leave crumbs, plates, cups, or anything else lying around.

It is very quiet in this room and ideal for those seeking exactly that. It is well-shaded too so you won't fry there in the summertime. Very relaxing space overall.
All is furnished with linens, towels, et al. being supplied. There'll always be fresh fruit and continental breakfast items available for guests' consumption too.

We have a nine year old who sleeps from 9pm to 7am. During his waking hours he is a normal kid, and makes normal kid noises. The house is big though and the guest room is on the third floor and remains fairly quiet and secluded from the rest of the house.

This is a Peaceful Study House and most guests are academic people connected to UPenn, Drexel or St. Joe’s University. We have no TV here so it is always quiet. The social interaction tends to happen in
the Kitchen and Breakfast Room which are shared spaces. The guests
typically are about 40% American and 60% from foreign countries.
It is a small International House, in a sense!

This is an elegant 100 year old home on one of the most beautiful blocks in University City. The house has beautiful oak floors, a fireplace, leaded glass windows in Living Room and a modern kitchen.
The room is modest in size at 8’ x 12’ and has a very comfortable bed and a 30” x 80” desk, along with a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
The room has two windows with adequate natural light and is furnished. It is a compact, cozy and comfortable room.
