- "Stayed in Alamo Guest House for two nights this week. From the moment we arrived until our departure they couldn’t have done more to make our stay more enjoyable. Location is central, well-connected by bus to the rail and bus stations, and very attractive (the breakfast room’s picture windows looks out over Kelvingrove Museum and tennis courts). Registration was at the time we’d requested, and time was taken to show us all the thoughtful little extras (a proper coffee machine, fresh milk, complimentary Tunnocks!) The room itself (‘Harris’) was spotless, warm, quiet and looked out over a little courtyard garden. So well blacked-out at night that one of those little plug-in nightlights would’ve been useful for nocturnal trips to the bathroom. The bed was roomy/king size and supremely comfortable. But more than anything else, what will bring us back will be the superb breakfasts - a big choice of hot and continental items to choose from, very generously portioned, freshly cooked to order and so tasty! - "Tucked away just off Queen Margaret Drive and opposite the Botanic Gardens, Embassy Suites offers a laid back and comfortable experience. Very good car parking (access via Clouston Street and Clouston Lane off the B808) and the room was more than adequate with an electric cooker (untried and it looked less than pristine) a microwave, a fridge etc. No DVD player and bring your own tea towels and kitchen rolls because you won't find any here. That said, it was very quiet with the only noise from other residents trying to find the squeakiest floorboards in the place, and in a couple of minutes you can be at Great Western Road and Oran Mor - the music / theatre venue, an in less than ten minutes you can be in Byres Road with Hillhead subway station and its shops, bars and restaurants and that West End ambience. Another fifteen minute walk and you can be at Kelvingrove and one of the worlds finest art galleries which is still free to get in. We usually stay in the city centre, but this will be our new home from home for future visits."

There is a bus stop right outside the flat and Kelvindale train station is 2 min walk away for getting into city centre.

The space
The room is large, bright, airy and relaxing. It has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, desk and chair. The room is painted a soft yellow (to represent the sand) and soft furnishings are turquoise (to represent the sea). It is decorated with pictures I took on my travels - again representing the beach theme.

In addition to the room, you will be able to use the living room, which has relaxing, leather lazy boy chairs and sofa. There you will find shelves filled with books and DVDs if you want to borrow these during your stay. You will also be able to use the kitchen for cooking. In addition to oven, electric hob, and microwave, there is a toastie machine, orange juicier and blender. You can also use the washing machine and there is a clothes line in the back garden where you can dry them.

My attic apartment room is in the heart of the west end, right next to the Hilton hotel and Botanic gardens.
The room is spacious with a couch and a smart TV and a small dining /working/studying table.
There are lots of bars and fancy restaurants you can dine in with all types of cuisine.
My apartment is walking distance to the university and Hillhead underground. There is a supermarket right next to the front door.

Thanks and welcome to my advert. I'm looking to welcome visitors to my top floor tenement flat which I hope you find warm, homely and would ideally suit a single person or couple. I also share with 2 adorable house cats who are very affectionate - well one is ;-)

Garrioch Drive is a lovely quiet street overlooking the Kelvin walkway and a mere 20 minutes walk to the local underground station at Hillhead which runs a good, regular service that will have you in the city centre in 10 minutes, with Buchanan Street, which is renowned for shopping, only 4 stops away. The flat is walking distance to Great Western Road and the trendy Byres Road is only a 15 minute walk away, where you can find a huge range of excellent restaurants, pubs and the famous Ashton Lane. A taxi home after a night out in the city centre would set you back approx £12-£18 depending where you were drinking and dancing ;-) I've stayed in the flat since March 2017 and love it.

The living room has comfortable contemporary furniture and a good sized dining table that comfortably seats six people. There is a smart TV and a small DVD collection. There's a fully equipped modern kitchen and cupboard space for your own food if required and free use of all the equipment including the toaster, kettle, microwave, washing machine, cooker and fridge freezer. There's also a communal cupboard for everyday items like herbs, spices, sauces, tea and coffee etc. The bathroom has a relaxing bath and an over bath shower. The bathroom is shared - even with the cats. As they are house cats their litter tray lives in the bathroom too.

The available double bedroom is a good size with an IKEA double bed, large wardrobe space with drawers. The bedroom is to the rear of the flat and is fairly quiet.

Guest access
There is secure entry to the flat in this friendly, presentable tenement block. The communal stairwell is very well kept and represents the flat well. The double room is all yours along with shared access to the kitchen, all appliances, the living room and the bathroom.

During your stay
I'm generally working Monday to Friday and tend to be out between 9am and 6pm. I'm readily available on my mobile if you ever need any help or advice. Communication is key when it comes to arranging and for helping with a relaxing stay. Check in time is fairly flexible with friends nearby if I am unavailable. Alternative arrangements can be made upon request and with notice. I'll try to accommodate requests as much as possible. I've lived in the city for over 20 years, so I'm happy to share any local knowledge and recommend good restaurants and pubs to suit your needs ;-) Glasgow has a great reputation for being fun and friendly so come and enjoy all there is on offer.

Other things to note
As I previously mentioned, the flat has two gorgeous house cats to keep you company. Cher and Hedwig are always happy to be playing or napping on a welcoming lap. Well Cher more so. Hedwig is a little weird at times but he is handsome ;-) The block is quiet, so parties aren't allowed but having fun isn't restricted.
