Great coffee was provided for our use. The temp control worked great. And, we enjoyed the hot tub each night. I contacted the manager and he never responded. Washed everything myself including the mattress pad which had flakey debris on it, because we couldn’t just leave and lose our . Plus all our heavy luggage was painstakingly brought upstairs at this point. After a 5 night stay we still never heard from the Manager. This is not acceptable. He has not responded to my email sent when we checked out detailing the issues with this property. My first horrible experience with VRBO property. "

Our rental is nestled within a peaceful, private community of just 24 units, set on 150 wooded acres. The property is surrounded by expansive wooded and open spaces, offering a serene and natural setting. Step out to find paths leading to public walking trails within the Dinsmore Brook Conservation Area, just to the west. To the east, the golf course borders the property, offering a short walk to the greens with your clubs in hand. It’s a peaceful retreat with plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors.

- "This was a great place to stay for a family ski getaway to Crotchet Mountain. The whole establishment is small and quaint, with a few wings of guest bedrooms branching off of the main tavern/restaurant. But we didn’t feel like we were intruding on someone’s house, which is our main worry when staying at a Bed & Breakfast style inn. We have 2 young children, so we were concerned beforehand about being able to keep the kids contained from disrupting anyone else’s stay or making a mess in the communal spaces. We had to do some wrangling, but the staff and owner were incredibly nice, we had enough space in our bedroom (room 9) to keep the kids busy, and the decor has more of an inviting rustic cottage feel (not filled with breakables!) Big hits with the kids: popcorn machine, communal TV room, snack table available most of the time. Big hit with me: the bar and a coffee machine are just down the hallway! The restaurant had great food and was very convenient for dinner. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you want something cozier than a standard hotel. If you have small kids, call ahead to make sure you pick a room with enough space and the amenities you need. There are some quirks as you will find in an inn that has reopened after a major renovation and is continuing to modernize. But they are off to a great start! We hope to return, assuming it isn’t booked solid next time!"

This simple, peaceful studio by our running stream has been used by our family as a song writing space, and a place for quiet reflection.
Close to hiking on Ted's Trail and the Wapack Trail on North Pack Monadnock, just up the road.
The studio has no electricity, and no running water except the stream for bathing. Outhouse is nearby. Bring your favorite lantern and a couple of flashlights, and anything else you like to have with you when you camp.

We love this place--we hope you do too!

The space
This is a one room studio or cabin, very simple; with a full sized bed--sheets and towels available, a small table and two chairs etc
There is a small deck overlooking the stream with two comfortable outdoor chairs
The Studio has no electricity, but has battery lanterns.
There is an outhouse 100 feet away, and basic washing up can be done in the stream.
There are no cooking facilities, but there is a simple outdoor fire pit.
This place is really suitable for a weekend, or a long weekend, but not available for long term stays.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the property, meadow, stream and woods.
We recommend using the hiking trails just up the road, rather than wandering in the woods.

Other things to note
Bring flashlights, outhouse nearby, stream is very cooling for a quick bathe.

Escape to the foothills of North Pack Monadnock for a stay in a charming newly-built, solar-powered cabin with a deck facing a year-round stream and woodland surroundings. Close to popular hiking destinations – half a mile from Ted's Trail & one mile from Wapack Trail. Nearby attractions include historic “Our Town” Peterborough, Greenfield State Park, & Mount Monadnock. Enclosed porch of host's main house offers wifi, and a continental breakfast.

The space
14 X 10 foot cabin includes a comfortable double bed, small table and chairs, a propane heater, and a deck with small outdoor table and chairs. Behind the cabin is a newly built outhouse and a rain-barrel shower which offers a basic clean-up area (minimal water pressure; no hot water). Drinking water provided.

Guest access
Guests can also access entire outdoor area, the enclosed porch of host's main house for wifi, coffee, tea and continental breakfast, and the driveway of the main house for parking. Please do not enter the additional outbuildings unless accompanied by host.

Other things to note
Please leave your well-loved dogs at home if you book our Solar Cabin.
Leashed dogs are allowed at our other booking, the Rustic Studio, (we have chickens and a cat on the property) and there are great hiking trails right nearby that both dogs and people will enjoy.

Merry Hill is located in Greenfield, NH about 10 minutes away from Crotched Mountain for skiing and hiking. We are mid-point between Keene and Manchester.

The space
Your private guest suite is located on the 2nd floor of the main house. Your entrance is located at the back of the house. There are 12 stairs leading up from the private entrance to the suite. Please note the hallway/stairs are narrow and curved at the top.

Once you are in the suite, you will see there are large windows overlooking the property. We are surrounded by woods and the area is quiet and peaceful.

Guest access
Your area is completely private. I live in the main part of the house. We will most likely not cross paths unless we run into each other outside or if you would like to meet in person.

Other things to note
We are the first house on our road. Please note the road is a dirt road. It is kept plowed in the winter and we have plenty of parking. Pull in and park by the Merry Hill Parking sign.

This magical place has been our home away from home for twenty years and we are excited to share it with you. We hope you'll experience the same time-out-of-time feeling we get when sitting out on the deck in the early morning or looking up on a moonless night as the Milky Way snakes its way across the dark sky.

The house sits on seven mostly wooded acres that abut a scenic beaver pond. The property is located on a quiet unpaved road in rural New Hampshire.

The space
Inside, you'll love the open feeling of our house, especially the great room with its cathedral ceilings. The bright all-season porch is always a wonderful place to relax and socialize.

During your stay you will have exclusive use of the house and property. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need for your home cooking. There is a coffee maker with some supplies to get you started. Towels and bathroom supplies are provided and you can let us know if there's anything you need that we might have forgotten.

There is a small TV with DVD player and a collection of DVDs for you to enjoy. You're also welcome to use any of the many games in the house, including the mini-pool table. You are welcome to use the charcoal grill but may need to replenish the supplies. Any of our three bikes can be made available upon request.

Guest access
Our house sits on about 7 mostly wooded acres abutting a large beaver pond. An approximately one-acre 'country lawn' surrounds the house. You are welcome to explore any part of our property but the pond is suitable for only for beavers, waterfowl and other wildlife. It is not safe for recreational activities such as swimming or boating.

Other things to note
In WINTER, even though town roads (and our driveway) are plowed regularly, driving in rural New Hampshire can be difficult due to accumulated ice and snow. It is strongly advised that your vehicle is equipped with snow tires or good all-season tires. Muddy roads in the SPRING can also be difficult to negotiate for vehicles with poor traction.

Power outages due to storms in the area may occur but our automatic backup generator ensures you will never be without power.

Please be advised that, especially in the late SPRING and in SUMMER, you may have to contend with not-so-welcome pests like deer-flies, mosquitoes and wasps. We wish they weren't there or could be convinced to leave you alone but, alas, this is country life. Black flies are especially abundant and biting in May and early June until those beautiful dragonflies arrive.

PETS are welcome but please let us know if they will be joining you. We do ask that you discourage your pets from using the furniture. Also, please pick up after your dog even if it's out on the expansive 'country lawn'. For your pets' safety, they should not be allowed to free roam to avoid unpleasant or even lethal encounters with any of the animals that may be around, especially coyotes, bobcats, beavers, porcupines and skunks.

Your entire Creative Cabin: 16x16 with a wall of windows and view of Crotched Mountain. The private cabin is connected to a 1792 House by a breezeway with private bathroom & shower. Trails behind the house crisscross the Rand Valley, offering year round hiking and mountain bike riding. 36 min drive to Mt Monadnock, 20 mins to Peterborough, with Pubs, bookstore, cafes, shops and museums, all you need for quiet getaway in the country.

The space
With high speed fiber Wifi perfect for Zoom, uploading etc, our unique and cozy cabin has a full wall of windows giving a sweeping view of Crotched Mountain and the surrounding hills.

The land around our cozy cabin is mostly conservation land with access to hiking. Monadnock State Park, Miller State Park and the famous Waupack trail are all in our area.

Our Cabin with a view is the perfect, comfortable and safe spot for a solo retreat or weekend away. There is a writing desk that can be moved around the cabin according to your preference.

For our mountain biking guests- you can leave your bikes right in the breezeway!

We have added large pine chairs in the breezeway, a coffee table with chairs and a privacy wall, a patio with chars, BBQ (let us know ahead of time- we will have charcoal ready for you) and a stunning view of Crotched Mountain. There are trails for mountain biking snowshoeing or hiking immediately behind the house.

The space
This super cozy, post and beam cottage is a perfect New England getaway for a couple or a couple traveling with up to two older child or additional adults. * There is a new and comfortable king-size bed in the loft bedroom, plus a couch that folds out to a twin bed and a roll away cot.

The house features a well-equipped kitchen, a large loft-style bedroom accessed by stairs with a king-sized bed, two separate work stations , dining area and living room.

The living room has a sofa bed that coverts to a twin size bed and there is a roll-away cot to comfortably accommodate up to four people.

As a bonus, the house has a large 3-Season screened in porch that stays comfortable during warmer days and a picnic area with umbrella.

The yard is quite large and you can also walk right out the door and enjoy the adjacent tree farm property- Great for snowshoeing, mountain biking or cross-country skiing. ,In fact, there is an abundance of dirt roads and trails throughout the entire area*

There is a lovely creek just inside the woods that you can follow to Ted's Trail or you can take the car the short 1.1 mile drive to the actual trailhead. This classic New England trail takes you you to the top of North Pack Monadnock where you can join the iconic Wapack Trail, Carolyn's Trail, and the Cliff Trail. You can go all the way to Connecticut by trails if you really want to! The northern terminus to the Wapack Trail is just 2.5 miles away by car.

Beautifully constructed post & beam, please note that the house may not be a good choice for those with mobility concerns or children as you must use stairs to access the house. There are also curved & irregular stairs to the loft bedroom. The bathroom is on the main floor so you will need to go down the stairs to access it from the bedroom.

The only bedroom is in the loft and has a new king size bed. The sofa in the living room folds flat to make a twin sized bed. There is also a rollaway twin cot to make room for a fourth guest.

There is a window air conditioner in the loft bedroom. There are also ceiling fans in the bedroom and in the enclosed sun porch. There is also a portable Vornado fan you can move to where you would like it on hot days.
