There are a few steps leading up to the front entrance. On the upper level, you will find a full sized kitchen (equipped with keurig coffee machine, an airfryer and other cookwares), a dining area, a living room with comfy sofa, two bedrooms (one is an-ensuite with a king bed & crib; the other twin over full bunk bed) and two bathrooms. This Staten Island house is made of brick and has 10 rooms: 5 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room and living room, garden, fryont terrace and back deck. Every room, terrace and the back deck have New York Harbor view. The neighborhood has the lowest crime rate in NYC.
This enchanting house features 3 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 1 sofa bed. The kitchen is spacious and full of sunlight. It comes with two stoves, gas range, dishwasher, microwave and other equipment. There are several sets of dishes, glassware and silverware, tablecloths and tea towels. We also provide bedding and bath towels.
The house features modern European windows imported to NYC on special order. European air conditioning, also known as a “split system” is installed throughout the house.

This airbnb room is on the first floor. And our latest addition to our two airbnb guest rooms that we've been having in this house for over 10 years.
It comes with a shared dining room, a shared and fully equipped kitchen as well as a bathroom with a shower and a toilet.

GUEST ROOM
Enjoy our guest room with morning sun, that comfortably accommodates 2 guests in the bunk bed with enough room to leave your shopping bags at home while you explore the city. The guest room has dark wood panels which give the room a nice atmosphere and keeps it dark, when blinds are closed so you can sleep late after a long day at work or to cure your jet lag. Your room is equipped with a closet, so you can unpack your stuff and put your suitcase under the bed. It has one window (in summer with a window AC unit) to the street and neighbor's house.

BATHROOM + KITCHEN
The little bathroom and kitchen are SHARED. Fresh towels and basics such as shampoo, toilet paper, shower gel, etc. will be ready when you arrive. The bathroom has narrow shower with a shower curtain!

KITCHENETTE
Also the little cook-nook is shared, where you can share your favorite places and NYC stories. With a toaster, a coffee maker and a microwave you prepare breakfast to get ready for the day.

STYLE
We have carefully collected our vintage and retro flea market-style interior, that makes our home so cozy. Authentic interiors may inspire you to make a trip to a local flea market or thrift store.

COMMUTE/LOCATION
Our home is about 60+ min from downtown Manhattan. This is why we and most of our guests love this place. Of course this is also the reason for a reasonable price. So when it comes to your decision about the location, please make sure you know that our low prices reflect a longer commute to Manhattan than pricier guest rooms. If you don't like to stay in a suburban area, you can find plenty of hip places in more conveniently located neighborhoods on airbnb.

Directly in front of our House we have the bus stop of line S74. It brings you home after your ferry ride FROM Manhattan. One block down the street you'll find the S74 bus stop going TO the ferry.
Then you can take the free 25 minute ride into Manhattan and enjoy the view! On the way you already see the Statue of Liberty and the great skyline of downtown Manhattan. When you arrive, you are just steps from Battery Park, Wall Street and the Charging Bull.
To go to Times Square, Central Park or Empire State Building, just take the subway which is located at the exit of the ferry terminal. Take the 1 Train or the R train uptown.
Hands down, the total commute into Manhattan from our house can take 45 - 60+ minutes.
House > Bus 5 min. + Bus > Ferry 15 min. + Ferry > Manhattan 25 min. (plus waiting time, according to your planning)

Certainly you can also skip the ferry at all and take the Express Bus directly into Manhattan. That brings you directly to Wall Street or Times Square but the express bus costs a little more than local buses.

CAR
Traveling by car? Making a road trip? In New York for business? We have street parking available near the house and we are conveniently located to Verrazano bridge. What makes your commute to Brooklyn or Manhattan pretty easy! But if you don't find a parking spot when you arrive, ask us!

AIRPORT ARRIVAL
We might also be able to arrange airport pick-up/drop-off service for JFK, Newark and LaGuardia airports. If you are interested, drop us a line!

If you prefer to choose the airport pick up service or a taxi to come to our place, we recommend to fly in to Newark airport because it is closer by car.
If you come to our place by public transportation, JFK or LaGuardia may be your best bet because you can use the MetroCard for all means of transport within NYC and don't have to pay extra for the NJ train from Newark.

CHECK-IN/OUT
Basically check-in is 4pm and check-out is 11am. But we are flexible. If you arrive earlier or depart later, just ask us and we can work something out!
A couple of days before you arrive we will catch up with you with some additional information and to make check-in arrangements.

GROCERIES/DELI
We have a Deli right across the street. If you need a breakfast sandwich, a soda or chips, you can walk there in your PJ's.
If you're planning to do a bigger grocery shopping trip, we recommend to stop by Key Food's or Western Beef. They are located on the way from the ferry to our house. (see guide book)

BEACH
Our home is also in convenient distance to the beach. If you like to relax and spend a day at the beach of Staten Island, just take the bike or bus and enjoy the sun!

TEMPERATURE
During the summer months there is a window AC unit which you can turn on at your convenience. But please turn it off, when you leave the house.
In winter the whole house can only be controlled with one single thermostat. So some rooms might be warmer, others may be cooler. We for example prefer it cooler because it's healthier to sleep at cooler temperatures. But if it's too chilly for you, please send me a message!

Charming and cozy bohemian space with high ceilings on a very quiet block (for NYC). You’ll be close to parks, restaurants, a cafe, and my favorite cocktail lounge! Your space includes a private bedroom, living room, full bathroom, work space, and kitchenette with a washer/dryer. There’s also a large 4KHD tv with all the streaming services, and an old school Nintendo and Super Nintendo for you to play. Also, check out all the vintage and nostalgic toys and trinkets decorating the space.

The space
Hello! This home was built in 1888. It’s an old home with a lot of character and charming imperfections. Once upon a time, it was a German bakery (so I’m told). It’s an old brick building on a cobblestone street. It’s very quiet(by NYC standards). The space is close to the ferry (7 minute walk to a 15 or so minute bus ride - 30 minutes if you walk) and Verrazano bridge, which take you to manhattan and brooklyn respectively! The yard has a nice tall Ginko tree whose leaves turn a beautiful golden yellow in Autumn. The space is decorated with toys and Knick knacks from my childhood, creating a sense of 90s nostalgia. This is one of two Airbnb spaces in the building. Enjoy!

Staten Island does not have the myriads of shops and walkable destinations that Manhattan has - please keep that in your expectations and you may be pleasantly surprised!

This is a very special place because of the unique location and exceptional build quality. It was built in early 1900 by Artist Frederick Stone. The structure is made of steel and concrete.

I lived in this place for over 10 very inspirational years and enjoyed every moment. I’ve updated it to the current living standards with modern fixtures, brand new appliances, new furniture and lots of LOVE and personal touches.
