Notice all the high-fives being given as you pull down the paver driveway. This mountain estate exudes high-quality craftsmanship everywhere you look.

Upon entering into the great room and you'll notice the owner has thought of every detail with furnishings from Restoration Hardware and oversize flat screen television to the enormous, almost floor to ceiling cathedral windows. The city of South Lake Tahoe has created super strict ordinances against vacation rentals. Big fines for both the renter and owner. Max 2 cars on our property, no street parking, unreasonable noise, no hot tub use between 10pm-8am. Please look up these ordinances online if you are not aware of them.

In response to the City of South Lake Tahoe ordinance on short term rentals, we are operating under STVR License. As per the ordinance, this vacation rental cannot be used for any type of parties, including weddings and receptions. Maximum allowable City occupancy is 6 people and 2 cars; over occupancy will be subject to City citation/fine. Please note that we have a strict NO PARTY policy; failure to comply will result in eviction.

- "I stayed at Tahoe Tyrol for 6 weeks. The location is great, only 2'-3' drive away from Heavenly California Lodge, 10' away from supermarkets and stateline. The house itself is very nice, it has a well equipped kitchen, the bedrooms and bathrooms are quite big, and beds are comfortable. I was working from home the whole time I was there and I had no issues with the wifi. One minor issue is that the smaller bedroom gets a little bit of noise when the heater is blowing air, but it wasn't a problem for me. I would stay there again."

- "I came to Tahoe looking for a month of relaxation, activities, and nature. This house gave me everything I needed. It's a 5 minute drive (if that) to Lake Tahoe Blvd and Pioneer Trail which makes access easy and puts you close enough to the main strip to walk to if you wish. It's a 15 minute walk to the casinos and the shops at Heavenly Village. The community pool was quiet and nice and it includes a hot tub. The house itself was perfect for a homebase. The bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs while the community areas (kitchen, dining room, and living room) are on the 1st floor. The TV included all the streaming options you'd want. The loft has two more beds for young ones or could make do in a pinch for adults who don't demand big beds. I was there for the summer which means the house could get a bit warm with no A/C, even with open windows, but overall it wasn't much of an issue. I would definitely stay here again. I loved the location and the Tyrol community and the property managers were pleasant."

Gorgeous views of the meadow and lake surround our historic cabin home. The place is reminiscent of another time and located in the historic and private community of Tahoe Meadows which is perfect for getting away from it all.

The Runcie-Mason cabin has been in our family for five generations. The family acquired the land on the south shore of Lake Tahoe in 1912. J.H. Homes, John Weislander and their families camped on the site. Our cabin was built in 1925. Tahoe Meadows Home Owners Association was formed in 1924 and is now on the list of national historic preservation areas.

The original cabin, built in 1925, consisted of a master bedroom, two lofts, living room, kitchen and two porches. The original kitchen was located where part of the back porch is now. The outhouse was behind the garage. Until the late 1960s, we pumped our own water and enjoyed solar showers and lake baths. This portion of the cabin is not winterized and not available for rent during the winter.

During the winter months we only rent the new side of the cabin. This addition to our cabin was added in the early 1970s. This included another bedroom, living room, kitchen and real bathroom. We still have our own well water. From the cabin, there is a beautiful view of the lake across the meadow. Although there have been many changes over the years, we try to keep these to a minimum. We enjoy the rustic, old time feel the cabin provides, as well as the many memories. The cabin was passed to the fifth generation in late 2010. It is currently owned by Tim and Allison Runcie, Sarah Mason Sears, and Leslie Mason Schlegel.

The cabin is our home away from home, so we have stocked it with everything you should need. We have a full kitchen, sheets and bath towels. The washer and dryer comes in handy. We also stock paper towels and toilet paper.

Effective January 2020, South Lake Tahoe changed the laws governing short term rentals in the non-tourism district. Our cabin is located outside of this district so we can only rent our cabin for a minimum of 31 days. We have adjusted our rates to make it more affordable for families to rent and enjoy the ski season on a monthly basis, start dates vary. Please message me for details.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING WINTER MONTHS SEPTEMBER - MAY THIS CABIN ONLY HAS 1 BEDROOM WITH 2 BEDS AND 1 BATH. DUE TO THE HISTORIC NATURE OF THE PROPERTY THE OTHER ROOMS ARE NOT INSULATED FOR WINTER USE.

One thing you may notice, we don't have a television. When we were kids our parents always said this was Tahoe time, go play. Ride a bike, play cards or board games, read a book, make some art or take a nap. We have talked about adding a TV, but just can't bring ourselves to do it. We also do not provide internet service at this time. Renters use their personal hot spots when needed.

We look forward to e-meeting you. We finalize reservations after discussing more details through messages. We will not be present during your stay. The neighborhood does have a caretaker that watches over the property and can help will any issues that may arise.

Tahoe Meadows
Tahoe Meadows was established in 1924 and is the first residential community established in the Tahoe basin. The greenspace includes natural preserved deserts and meadows which we protect—no walking in them or picking the wildflowers. Tahoe Meadows is a 100 acre historic preservation with natural preserves and cabins ranging from the historic to modern. This gated Community is a great place for walking, biking and children. Our rustic cabin was built 1925 and has a beautiful view of the meadow and lake. The neighborhood is centrally located in So. Lake Tahoe, giving easy access to restaurants, Ski Run Blvd, Heavenly Village, and Stateline. we have owned the cabin for five generations.
It is easy to get an Uber/ Lyft in So. Lake Tahoe. If you fly into the Reno Airport and don't want to rent a car, you can catch the shuttle to the casinos at Stateline. From there, it is around a mile or so to the cabin. We will give you a code to enter Tahoe Meadows at the gate.
Entertainment, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and Heavenly Valley Ski Resort are a short drive away.

It’s a Slice of Heaven from the nice touches, fine décor, Great Game room, and a wonderful location that’s close to everything. There is a 55” LED TV, surround sound, in the living room along with a very large couch that reclines in 3 sections. There is an LED TV with DVD in each bedroom. Pick a movie from the 250+ DVD library and watch it in any room. The kitchen is fully stocked and contains full with granite, stainless, and LED lighting.

Game Room
The Game Room is one of a kind. It offers a pool table, foosball, shuffle board, darts, Old School arcade game with 60 games from Pac Man to Donkey Kong, 3 other standing arcade games, and a whole selection of board and table games. There is a 48” LED TV with surround sound and colored lighting throughout the room.

Back Deck

Good Vibes and Great Location! Our recently renovated home backs into an endless meadow, where you can start your day sipping coffee with the beautiful mountain views. Hop in the hot tub and watch the snow fall off the trees. Drive the 8 minutes to Heavenly, grab an apres beer at a local brewery, and then come back to watch a movie on the 120" projector.

Less than 5 minutes to wholefoods and many restaurants/bars, and 40 minutes to Kirkwood, with cross country skiing out the back yard.

This listing is for the entire house which has 3 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a standing desk. The 3rd bedroom has a bunk bed with two twin beds. The rooms face the backyard and meadow.

This is a very unique home where the local Tahoe vibe and the colors of the world mix together. Born and raised in Tahoe, but also with European roots and ties to Latin America, we have created a space in which you will feel both on a journey and at home.

There is a dedicated side entrance where you will enter into a lounge spaced with pillows, a low sitting table, piano, flowers and yoga mats. A large guest bathroom with both a shower/bath. You will have access to the gym and a sauna. You will stay in a spacious and comfortable room, be provided with a desk so you can digitally nomad and take in the view of Tahoe's beautiful pines.

The room is furnished with a king size bed, a desk and closets.

Upstairs you will find the communal spaces: a large, shared space with a fireplace, endless books, a projector, a low dining-table with floor seats (we don't have sofas or regular tables but there is a dining-bar with highchairs if you prefer). There is also a second guest bathroom with a shower upstairs.

Make the kitchen home; a space will be provided for you in the fridge and cabinets. You are more than welcome to cook in the fully equipped kitchen.

**We are vegetarian, please do not cook any meat or meat produces in the house. It is fine if you need to store meat products for take away lunches.

Tahoe is home to many animals. You may experience bears, raccoons, mice, and other animals. Meadows are home to many rodents. When these areas are filled with water or snow, these animals move to homes in the area. You may experience these animals in or near your home.
Guests staying at a South Lake Tahoe rental must adhere to all City Ordinances. In addition to noise, trash disposal, and parking rules, maximum occupancy cannot be exceeded under any circumstance. Fines of up to $2,000 will be imposed by The City of South Lake Tahoe, without warning, for any violations.

If you are looking for a beautiful home all on one level, this is it. The wide open main area with kitchen, dining and living, large windows that overlooks the Bijou Golf Course, makes a perfect setting for relaxation.

The kitchen, with granite countertops, new appliances, and cabinets, sits in the middle of the main living making it command central. The living area has plush sofas, loveseats, and a flat screen TV. The house has new hardwood floors, carpets, bathrooms, and furnishings. Down the hall are two bedrooms with a hall bathroom. The first bedroom has a twin trundle bed (sleeps two). The second bedroom has a queen bed. At the end is the master bedroom with queen bed, private full bath and its own flat screen TV. Washer and dryer in the garage.

Located in the quiet part of the Bijou neighborhood, there is easy access to everything. Shopping and restaurants are just down the street. Heavenly and the downtown nightlife are approximately 2.5 miles away.

The house has a spacious back deck and yard, brand new giant Weber BBQ, and a gorgeous view of the golf course and meadow.

The 2 car garage is empty and available for parking - this is a bonus when it's snowing or raining! Driveway is plowed when it snows.

We provide TP, paper towels, dish soap, linens, towels, shampoo/conditioner and body lotion.
