Swimming and water skiing are allowed, but personal water crafts are not. In the winter, you may go snow shoeing, sledding, or just play in the snow. It's just a spectacular setting for many outdoor activities!

For the Apple Hill (Camino) lovers, we are less than ten miles from this special area! In April, there is the Apple Blossom Festival. In the summer, there is the cherry and berry harvest. In the fall months, the traditional harvest season is in full swing. You can enjoy the cornucopia of fruits, ciders, vegetables, wines, baked goods, and homemade preserves. Of course, in winter, you can start your own family traditions as you cut down your own Christmas tree and enjoy the magic in the air! Oh, I forgot, you may want to visit a local winery and bring some back to enjoy!

Across the street restaurants include Wonderful Chinese Restaurant and the Pizza Factory. Just down the road, on Pleasant Valley Road, Across from El Dorado Fire Station is a gas station/store and Bones Roadhouse Bar & Grill serving food and drink.

- "The setting is beautiful. Peace, quiet, and a river. The house itself is great, well suited to 2 couples as the bedrooms are on the 1st and 3rd level with the main living area on the 2nd level. The outbuildings (hot tub room, game room) and river make this a true getaway. On our visit, there were a few things that needed attention (e.g., dishwasher soap did not dissolve, bbq burners did not all light), but these did not impact our enjoyment of the place, and the hosts appreciated our letting them know so they could be addressed after our visit. The hosts, Misti and Steve, were very attentive, and their communication before and during our stay was excellent. The setting: Very peaceful. Very beautiful. Very private. Hanging out on and next to the river provided much needed relaxation. The enclosed hot tub room was very inviting, and our only regret is that we didn’t get around to using it. Overall, we had a wonderful time, despite some small challenges that we know the hosts will be on top of. We would return in a heartbeat!"

You are more than welcome to wander the property and enjoy. The horses (Gentry and Flash) keep the pasture mowed. The chickens in the orchard are entertaining. If you go into the pasture or orchard please close the gate to prevent the horses and chickens from escaping. A flock of wild Turkeys and quail wander through frequently, as well as deer. The walk down Beals Road (approximately 2 miles round trip) is an interesting walk. Our part-time dog has moved on with her owner. She shows up occasionally and promises lots of friendliness. The pond and waterfall brings a two fold enjoyment. Along with the serenity, the variety of birds that come to the pond can be very interesting. In the evening the gold finches and other "locals" come to get their baths. So if you are sitting by the pond around early evening you may be scolded by these birds, after all it is bath time.
We have a smart TV. Tired of watching movies? Try our old time radio complete with old time radio shows, like the Green Hornet, Amos and Andy, Jack Benny. Check them out and enjoy your stay.

Welcome to Cedar Pines Cabin! We hope you can be one of our first guests! Our rustic 1100 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 1 bath home is perfect for a couple with children or a few friends to enjoy a getaway in the woods of gorgeous Pollock Pines. Our cozy cabin features cedar walls, a wood burning stove, an automatic backup generator and an outdoor gas firepit.

Surrounded by the pines at 4000 ft we get the best of both seasons with a fair amount of snow in the winter and a place to escape the heat in the summer. Just under an hour to Lake Tahoe and 45 minutes to Sierra at Tahoe. And, less than a 10 minute drive to Jenkinson Lake and only a 35 minute trip to Ice House Reservoir to enjoy some of the best trout fishing around.

We have a large open deck with a propane firepit to keep you warm on the starry nights, an outdoor dining table and a propane grill.

If you need to do laundry, we have a new Samsung high capacity washer and a dryer. We also have a portable air conditioner for the summer months that is installed in the living room along with an air purifier. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans.

We offer free Netflix on our 65" smart tv, great wi-fi and the cell signal is surprising good in the area. Incredibly quiet, serene and peaceful. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have!

100% of all cleaning fees (usually more) are paid directly to our professional cleaner. We do not keep any portion of the cleaning fees.

Please note: During the winter we can get heavy snow. Chains and/or 4WD may be necessary. Guests have access to the entire home. Limit of two cars in the summer and only one in the winter please.

We love to cook and appreciated having the basics. No snow this time. The cabin is tucked away on a quiet street (road a is a little rough and tumble but completely manageable; for future families- if there had been snow we would have stuck with our SUV rental rarher than a minivan to make sure we made it up and down the hill). We were close to groceries and just a short trip down the hill to shopping in placerville. Our host was quick to communicate, which was extremely helpful. Nestled down a private gravel driveway shared with the main house, this pet-friendly property provides a peaceful setting for your getaway. While guests are welcome to walk their dogs along the road, please note that access to the back of the property and the 20 acres is not permitted.

No sticky handles, no dust bunnies, no gross carpet, etc. The furniture is new and comfortable. Beds were comfortable with multiple pillow types to chose from. Check-out didnt have a long list of chores. Spa was clean and private. Host left goodies, which my 6 year old couldnt get enough of. Parties/Noise: In order to respect the neighbors and our quiet neighborhood, we do not allow parties in the house, and we kindly ask that things are kept on the quieter side after 10:00 pm.

Number of Guests: There will be a fee of $25 for each guest over 4 unless discussed with us, even if the person does not stay the night. This is to prevent parties.

Check-Out: Check-out is before 11:00 am. There will be a fee of $100/hour for late checkouts. Please let us know about the time you plan to check out so we can pass this information on to the housekeepers. We kindly ask that prior to leaving, place any dishes in the dishwasher and take out all the trash. This helps us keep the cleaning cost down. Leave the home basically as you found it when you arrived.

Restrooms: We kindly request that only toilet paper be flushed down the toilet. Wet wipes, including those labeled as flushable, should not be flushed as they can clog the sewer system.

Smoking: Our house is a non-smoking home. There will be no smoking of cigarettes or weed inside the house or a $300 charge.

Candles: We do not allow candles in the home, this is a fire hazard.

Food Items: Please refrain from disposing of food in the garbage disposal.

Damage: We understand that accidents happen. We ask that you please let us know when something is broken so that we can replace or repair it. There is a stain remover under the sink in the kitchen for the carpet and bedding.

Pets: Pets are allowed with a $100 per pet, non-refundable fee. No more than two (2) pets are allowed. Please alert us prior to your stay if you are planning on bringing along your pet. All pets must be fully potty trained, and not track mud or dirt into our home; please clean your pet's feet if they are dirty/muddy prior to allowing them in the home. Pets are NOT allowed on any furniture, including the beds. Keep the bedroom doors closed that are not being used. We shall not be held responsible in any way for anything that may happen to your pet. Please note, there will be an additional $100 fee for any animal waste found on the property after you leave. Please note that the pets are not to be left alone at the home.

Longer Stays: For stays exceeding 30 days, a mandatory cleaning service is required at the guest's expense. This ensures that the accommodation is well-maintained throughout longer stays. The cleaning fee will be charged to the guest.

Lost Items: Please do not forget anything in the home. We can not package and ship things that are left behind.

Cameras: We have a Ring Video Doorbell camera installed at the entrance for safety.

BBQ: In the event that the BBQ is left uncleaned after use, a $100 cleaning fee will be charged to your Airbnb account. This fee is necessary to ensure the space is ready and enjoyable for all guests. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Utilities: We kindly ask that you switch off lights and turn off AC/heater when not in the home.

Trash Removal: Please put trash cans on the curb Tuesday evening for Wednesday morning pickup, and bring them back to the right side of the home Wednesday afternoon.

Please do not unplug anything in the home. It is difficult for the next guest if lamps are unplugged, and there are items in the home that operate the door lock and doorbell. If you don’t know what it is, do not unplug it. Do not unplug the wireless router or modem or it will shut down the door lock and you may get locked out.

- "Over the hills and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go... or so to speak. We went to visit our children. Both couples met us at this wonderful little home that reminded us all of Grandma's house. It is super cute and even had a Christmas tree that was decorated beautifully. The cute faux fireplace looked real and even had the crackling sound of a real fire - we loved it! Such a charming place. The beds weren't anything to rave about. Husband slept in the master and said it was okay, not bad. I had to sleep in a bed closer to the floor since i was on crutches and it was too small for the both of us to sleep comfortably - thats why separate beds. TMI? It was not the best matress, but i slept fine. Looking at the address on Google Earth scared us, but don't worry, the neighborhood is safe and clean. Its much better in person. It's close to downtown Placerville which is our favorite town. My husband walked the dog to town. The back porch is awesome! The back yard is huge. The kitchen has everything you need. We would definitely stay here again, we were very comfortable and happy there."

Neighborhood overview
Close to HWY 50 so easy access to anywhere. Walking trails close, lots of hills, but very pretty little area. Historic homes with lots of charm. Walk to all of the great shops downtown where you'll always find something going on. Of course, everything has changed since COVID, but there are takeout restaurants still open and plenty of activity out there.
Getting around
Having a car or electric bike is best, otherwise walking is always available. Bus lines are close to get you to Sacramento, SF, SLT and other areas outside of this region. Slow but sure locally.
Other things to note
NO GUIDED LATE CHECK IN's after 5:00P. You are welcome to go to your rented room and figure most things out on your own. You are welcome to ask questions of the host the next morning! Room #’s are posted on the door.

*Please bring your towels into your room after use and hang on the hooks on the back of the doors to dry. Please do not leave wet towels on wood or upholstered furniture, thank you.
*We recycle. It is the blue container on the back porch.
*A coffee maker is provided in your room. You will need to bring your own coffee.
NOTE: There is also a little drive through coffee shop (right across from KFC across the freeway) opens early every day and makes a really great cup of coffee and they have nice pastries, too.
*TP is all around you in the hallway should a roll need to be replaced. Look up and behind the hallway door. There are a couple of emergency rolls under the sink in the cabinet, too.
*There are always more disinfectant wipes. If we run out, let me know!
*If your stay is less than 14 nights, I will clean and change out linens after you check out. If your stay is longer than 14 nights, I will need to have free access to the room from 10AM – 4 PM on Saturday in order to change out sheets and replace all your used with clean towels.
*DUE TO COVID – please wear a mask while you are in the common spaces. *Please wipe down the sink, toilet seat, lavatory handles, the light switch, doorknobs and pretty much everything you touch when you leave the bathroom or the microwave in the kitchen or any common space. It only takes a minute. We all want to survive this pandemic. We do it each and every time so you can rest assured that it is clean when you need to use it. We really appreciate that assurance in return.
*I am using the closet for storage. There is plenty of space plus 10 hangers and plenty of drawer space.

The landscaping, orchard, lake and view of the Sierra snow caps is as relaxing as you can get! There is a Meditation Temple in the Kriya Yoga tradition and lots of landscaped paths to walk as well as the lake. This is not just a place to stay but a destination. The kitchen is stocked with all you need to prepare vegetarian meals. There are meditation classes and programs.
