If you want a relaxing beach vacation in a beautiful home at a quiet beach, this is the place!! We would definitely stay at The Kid again!"

The water itself isn't very far away even thought it looks kind of far in the pictures. I can confidently say that me and the group I went with had no complaints of the property. - "We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Beauty and the Beach home in Oxnard. This was one of our last vacations before a few of my kids moved away and this house helped make our family vacation perfect. I believe we were one of the very first groups to stay in the home as it had just become a rental. The management company, specifically Dawn, was responsive before and after I booked answering my questions and letting me know how checkin would go. The house was not yet set up for using the digital keypad on the entry door, so Dawn met us at the house to give us keys and show us around the house. The house was just as pictured. Beautifully furnished and decorated with lots of high-end amenities and appliances. And the beach was literally 2 houses away!!! The only complaint we had at all during our entire stay was just that the fridge and freezer stunk strongly of fish. That's obviously something that will go away or be resolved easily and people who love fish might not have minded it as much so not a big deal. Also the main floor washing machine was out of service for our stay, but there was a washer/dryer combo on the bottom floor and the main floor dryer worked and we used it plenty! We didn't want to leave, so we definitely give it a thumbs up! We already plan on coming back to this exact house in the very near future!"

Welcome to the "SlotMachine House" in the charming Hollywood Beach community nestled halfway between Malibu and Santa Barbara. This is a one-of-a-kind home on Ocean Drive directly across from the beach. The home was designed by an architect in the Frank Lloyd School of Design and the goal was to make a house look like an object.. the "Slot Machine House" was created! It has been "meticulously" updated in California Coastal style with modern amenities.

The house is open concept and positioned to take in abundant natural light all day. You enter through a gate which takes you through a zen like garden to the front door. There is keyless entry and you will be given a code for the duration of your stay. There are many flights of stairs and a floating staircase which is not ideal for the smallest children. We will provide a pack-and-play but there are no gates. One flight of stairs takes you to the main living area that has the living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and outdoor deck. Enjoy preparing your meals in the well equipped kitchen with gas range or on the adjacent outdoor deck which has a Weber grill. The large communal Italian glass table is the perfect place to enjoy meals or play games and comfortably sits 8.

Up another flight of stairs and you are in the largest bedroom with ensuite bathroom. For those that may need to WFH, there is a desk area in the bedroom with high-speed WIFI internet throughout the home suitable for video-conferencing.

The last flight takes you to the loft which has ocean/channel Islands views for a cocktail at the custom wet bar equipped with wine fridge, bluetooth Marshall speaker and ambient lights to watch the sunset.

Two smart TVs with cable TV and Netflix included. (other streaming services available with personal login)

The garage has a washer/dryer, 3 bikes, 8 beach chairs, beach towels, beach wagon, picnic basket, umbrellas, sand toys, bocci ball, doll house with accessories, play-trucks, fort, corn hole, badminton and a volleyball. In addition, a combination pool table, air hockey, and ping ping table is available to enjoy.
There is also a separate poker table available to set up.

There is free parking for 4 vehicles in the driveway. If you have an EV vehicle there is an EV charger one block away. No street parking permitted.

House was very well stocked with comfort items, board games, beach toys and games , bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas. Built in 1957, The Hollywood Beach Bungalow is a true Mid-Century California Cottage "beach house". We are one of the last remaining Mid-Century homes in the historic neighborhood of "Hollywood Beach" AKA "Hollywood-By-The-Sea". Hollywood used to film movies on the desolate beaches of the area in the 20's and 30's. Research the fascinating history of the area. Our street is named after Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. The vast and never over-crowded beach has incredible views of The Channel Islands. Small at under 1,100 sq ft, due to the open floor plan and front to back living space, it never feels crowded. Master bedroom has a Queen bed and en suite bathroom with custom 8" french doors which open onto the back patio. Our second main bedroom also has a Queen bed and also has custom french doors to the patio. Bedroom 3 has two single beds and there is a shared bathroom in the hallway between the 2nd and 3rd bedroom. The kitchen, dining area and living space are all open and one and the same. Our charming front dutch door and curb appeal stop passersby in their tracks, as, our neighbors are mostly two story homes built in the 80s and 90s. We have a garage which is where you will find laundry and where we store our bicycles (4), beach towels, Paddle Ball, beach chairs, umbrella, insulated picnic basket and various other beach toys. If you opt not to venture outside, we do have a 60" Smart television, which is great for movies and sports. You can log on to your Netflix, Hulu, YouTube or Amazon Prime. WiFi works well throughout the home and back patio, creating a perfect and quiet workspace. We have hosted creative work retreats and 8 people can easily work around our large communal dining table. Our patio has a BBQ, seating areas and umbrella.

The home has 2 full bathrooms. The primary en-suite bath has a double vanity with a walk in shower. You will enjoy the feel of the outdoor experience as you step into the open shower. The front yard has 4 chairs to hang out in or soak up some sun. The backyard is accessible on the side of the house or through the French doors in both bedrooms. You can dine out back at the table or sit and relax in the cushioned rockers.

The 1-car garage houses a laundry area, beach chairs, and beach towels for outdoor fun.

CLEANING FEE
So there's no miscommunication, we collect a cleaning fee to get the house ready for your stay; it is NOT to clean up during or after your stay. If this is an automatic negative for you, then sadly this may not be the right place for your stay. Otherwise, prior to checkout, we do ask you to take care of the following to-do list:

1) start the dishwasher

2) throw trash in bins located by the driveway* -- including opened personal grocery items from fridge/cabinet

3) put all used bath, beach, and kitchen towels in the laundry baskets found inside the bedroom closets

4)turn off all lights, AC or heat

* If Sunday night falls within your stay, please roll bins out to the edge of the driveway for early Monday waste pickup.

Guests are welcome to visit you during your stay but based on the size of the house, Ventura County allows only a maximum of 8 people total during the day. Only 5 people maximum can stay overnight during the Quiet Hours of 10 pm – 7 am.

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FIREPIT TO USE AT THE BEACH?
No, fires are illegal at our beaches.

Built in 1957, The Hollywood Beach Bungalow is a true Mid-century California Cottage "beach house" experience. We are one of the last few remaining Mid-century homes in the historic and coveted neighborhood of "Hollywood Beach" AKA "Hollywood-By-The-Sea", in the city of Oxnard, CA. Experience the laid back SoCal beach life at its best. Our vast and never overly-crowded beach, which is one street in from the sand, has incredible views of the Channel Islands and beyond.

ENTRY / LIVING SPACE:
From the moment you open our dutch door and enter our beautifully diffused light-filled home, you’ll immediately be delighted to see and feel that our humble yet simultaneously well-appointed open Living / Dining / Kitchen space feels more spacious than you may have imagined and packs a big creative personality into a small space.

Welcome to the heartbeat of our home! With the ocean just one street in, or a 2 minute walk in either direction, you’ll enjoy the fresh ocean breeze filling the space from front to back.

DINING AREA:
Our large and rustic multi-purpose Restoration Hardware dining table is where endless memories are created. This is where we cook and gather with loved ones for meals, board games (put those devices down if you’re able to) or, if you must, it’s also a great place for hybrid work. We often find ourselves doing all of these activities at once when our family and friends are visiting. We have Zippy WiFi, allowing for multiple streaming devices for those Zoom meetings & movies.

KITCHEN:
We have all or most items that you should want or need in a well stocked kitchen including but not limited to: various coffee making options: Standard 12-cup, Chemex pour over, French Press and a Keurig. Our custom fridge is built into the cabinetry and is unique as some of our amenities, such as our Limited Edition Gold SMEG toaster.

LIVING SPACE:
Enjoy lounging in our open space living room area, reading a book, gathering around for some games or enjoying a movie night on our 60” Smart TV, equipped with many Apps including: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Peacock. Feel free to log into your account. You may also enjoy playing a record on our turn table from our record collection. Our West Elm TV console is filled with books, records, board games, cards and our living room space has tons of art, photography, music books. Enjoy!

BEDROOM 1: AKA our PRIMARY BEDROOM:
Fall into our comfortable King bed with an en suite bathroom with a shower and french doors opening to our back courtyard for that fresh ocean breeze.

BEDROOM 2:
Featuring a comfortable Queen bed and also has it’s own french doors opening to our back courtyard area.

BEDROOM 3:
AKA “The Kid Room” boasts (2) single beds. Perfect for kiddos or even two adults and conveniently located just off of the main living space/kitchen/dining area.

HALLWAY / PANTRY:
Our small hallway leads you from the front of the home to the back of home (to bedrooms 1 & 2) and out to our back courtyard area (accessible from either or both bedrooms). Our Hallway is where you will find our “Pantry”, complete with shelving where you’ll find a microwave, various kitchen supplies, appliances and trays, etc. and space to hide away your groceries.

**Our additional/2nd Bathroom is located in the hallway between Bedrooms two and three and has a shower/tub combination. *Ask about our complimentary supplies provided for you during your visit*.

GARAGE / AKA Laundry / AKA Gym / AKA Beach Storage:
*We only use our garage for our beach gear, bicycles, laundry, gym and our freezer.
*Please inquire about our inventory of supplies but we generally have the following items:

OUTDOOR COURTYARD:
Enjoy the fresh ocean breeze on our back courtyard area while BBQing, sitting around our West Elm patio table which easily seats 6 (also has an umbrella), or sitting under the stars sipping wine and engaging in conversation with friends. We also have a couple of comfortable lounge chairs and seating areas to enjoy your morning coffee while reading your favorite book, planning your day trips or just taking an afternoon siesta.


HEADING OUT FOR A DAY BY THE OCEAN:
**As you exit our front door (or garage), you can walk 2 minutes in either direction and you’ll see the sand. We are one street in from Ocean Dr. Turning left will also take you to some super fun sand dunes that kiddos and adults alike like to play on and roll down.

**Load up our beach cart with all of your gear, beach towels, insulated picnic basket and get ready for a day in the sun. Don’t forget your sunblock! Please be mindful to pack in / pack out and bring all trash with you to help keep our beaches clean. Just remember to take your shoes off at the door and to check for naturally occurring tar. Once back to the home, please go straight to our back patio to rinse off your sandy feet.

Our entire home and patio is yours to enjoy save for any small amount of locked cabinets where we store our home supplies.

The coastal neighborhood of Hollywood Beach, once prized by Old Hollywood for its ability to mimic desert locales in silent films, served as a haven from the overwhelming bustle of Tinseltown. As many stars of the Golden Era began to vacation and build summer homes here and the neighboring stretches of Silver Strand, the area took on the aptly titled nickname “Hollywood-by-the-Sea”. Welcome to the Slot Machine House in the charming Hollywood Beach community on Ocean Drive directly across from the beach. This one-of-a-kind home was designed by an architect in the Frank Lloyd School of Design. It has been "meticulously" updated in luxury California Coastal style with tons of modern amenities. The marina is a 10 minute walk and has tons of sporting activities.

The space
The house is open concept and is flooded with natural light. You enter through a gate which takes you through a zen like garden to the front door. There is keyless entry and you will be given a code for your stay. There are many flights of stairs and a floating staircase which is not ideal for the smallest children. We will provide a pack-and-play but there are no gates.

One flight of stairs takes you to the main living area that has the living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and outdoor deck. Enjoy preparing your meals in the well equipped kitchen with a new gas range and refrigerator or on the adjacent outdoor deck which has a Weber grill. The large communal Italian glass table is the perfect place to enjoy meals or play games and comfortably sits 8.

Up another flight of stairs and you are in the largest bedroom with ensuite bathroom. For those that may need to WFH, there is a desk area in the bedroom with high-speed WIFI internet throughout the home suitable for video-conferencing.

The last flight takes you to the loft which has ocean/channel Islands views. There is a wet bar equipped with beverage/ wine fridge, bluetooth Marshall speaker and ambient lights to enjoy the views.

Two smart TVs with basic cable and Netflix included (other streaming services available with personal login)

The garage has a new washer/dryer. There are 4 bikes with helmets, 8 beach chairs, beach towels, beach wagon, picnic basket, umbrellas, sand toys, bocci ball, cornhole, badminton and a volleyball.

In addition, a combination pool table, air hockey, and ping ping table is available to enjoy. There is a poker table that can be set up on the coffee table.

The home is 6 steps to the sand sitting directly across the easement to enter the beach. There are several singular aspects of this home which make it unique. The first is the open construction of the entire 2nd floor. There are 7 steal beams creating the ideal open kitchen/dining room and living room. In the gourmet kitchen, you will find everything you need to prepare a family meal with brand new pots/pans/dishes/glasses, etc.....everything is brand new. Kitchen is appointed with a unique single slab island of azul macaubus quartz. You'll also find two ovens, a microwave, fridge with water/ice dispenser, wine fridge, dishwasher, disposal, separate pantry, self-closing cabinets, and so much more. The 2nd floor entertainment floor also boasts a designer powder room, a washer/dryer (there are 2 sets of washer/dryers with the 2nd set in the garage to keep the sand out of the house), gas fireplace, HDTV with built in ceiling speakers, apple TV, Spectrum high speed wireless with cable and a lot more, like a record player and plenty of sophisticated art books to inspire. The adjacent living room boasts 14 ft ceilings with floor to ceiling windows. The upper windows are mechanical and so are the blinds.

The other singular and unique element of this home is the huge rooftop deck with natural gas fire table and natural gas BBQ. The 2nd bedroom on the third floor is designed to be kids room with en suite bathroom as well. The ground floor offers its own en suite designer bedroom with queen bed, HDTV w/ appleTV & Spectrum and the most awesome full bathroom with tub. There is a separate locked entrance for the downstairs, if needed. The garage also sits on the ground floor featuring all of the systems, including a water softener and conditioner making the water in our home totally drinkable and resort-like for showering/bathing. There are bikes, ping pong table, beach toys and a second full size washer/dryer downstairs to keep towels, bathing suits and other beach attire clean.

The third bedroom is located on the first floor and offers a new high-quality queen spring mattress. The room is tastefully decorated with a breezy west coast vibe and is conveniently located near a bathroom.

This adorable room features two new twin memory foam mattresses, suitable for adults or children. The room is conveniently located near the bathroom.

LIVING ROOM
The well-decorated main living room is on the second floor and is a great place to relax and watch shows on the 42” Samsung Frame TV or listen to music using our Bose speaker. Alexa is also there to help with your music selections. It shares the open living quarters with the dining room and kitchen, allowing for easy socializing with friends and family.

DINING ROOM
The dining room on the second floor has a table that seats 8 with 5 additional seating right next to it around the kitchen island.

KITCHEN
The large kitchen is well-equipped and each item was thoughtfully chosen for the space. From the stainless steel glasses to the perfect coffee mug — you won’t be disappointed. Pour-over coffee options are available as well as a Keurig that pours coffee by the cup or shot. Iced latte beverage containers and beach-friendly wine tumblers are also available.

LOFT
The loft on the third floor offers a 55” smart tv. Access any of the apps by using your own login. The large inviting sofa is not only beautiful but sturdy too — so feel free to send the kids up there for movie night or to play some board games.

BATHROOMS
The home has three large full bathrooms and one half-bath. Every floor conveniently has a bathroom. The master bath has a large soaking tub.

WORK STATION
The second master bedroom has a desk, in case you need to do some work. The room is far away from the rest of the house, so it provides the quiet that you need. The twin room also has a desk so children can color or do projects in their own space. The wifi router, however, reaches every corner of the home and provides up to 200 Mbps.

ROOFTOP DECK
This might end up being your favorite spot in the whole house! Located off of the third floor, this rooftop deck is the perfect spot to take your morning coffee or an evening cocktail, or outdoor grilling and dining. We love that it’s largely protected from the afternoon ocean wind, plus you just can’t beat the feel of the sun on your skin from this spot!

GARAGE
"Garage" is way too boring of a word for this place. Come here if you want to play ping-pong, practice your putting, or cook something on the charcoal grill. Grab one of the 6 bicycles when you’re ready to explore the neighborhood. And if it’s sunbathing you’re craving, grab one of the beach chairs and Turkish beach towels and head to the beach just 20 steps away.

Unlike many of the neighborhood homes, the laundry is located in the house -- not the garage! It is located on the first floor and is available for your use throughout your stay. Cleaning and sanitizing supplies & equipment are also available to help you tidy up and keep the house as clean & sanitized as you’d like during your stay.

CLEANING FEE:
So there's no miscommunication, we collect a cleaning fee to get the house ready for your stay -- NOT to clean up during or after your stay. So, prior to checkout, we do ask you to take care of the following TO-DO LIST:

1. start the dishwasher

2. throw trash (including personal open items in the fridge) in bins outside by the driveway. If Sunday night falls within your stay, please roll bins out to the edge of the driveway for early Monday waste pickup.

3. put all used bath mats and bath, beach, and kitchen towels in the laundry basket in the laundry room

We also ask that you let us know if there are any damaged, stained, or lost item(s) to report, or if something was problematic. It helps us be prepared for the next guests.

Breathtaking Spectacular Ocean Front Views from our Brand New Modern Home centrally located in Oxnard. Bright and airy as well as newly furnished with luxurious furnishings and beddings. This is the perfect home for families and friend reunions. Our home is six bedrooms and five bathrooms. Kitchen has stainless steel appliances. Our home feels as if you're sitting on the sand from our sofa as you watch the waves and tranquility of the beach surrounding you making it the ultimate beach getaway

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms downstairs. Four of the bedrooms have attached bathrooms. Upstairs you will find out living room dining room kitchen and 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. We have a front balcony oceanfront. Downstairs is our family room and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is located in the common space and contains a queen size Murphy bed. We have attached a garage that can fit 2 cars. All of the upstairs bedrooms have their own TVs with 125 plus channels and a Smart HD TV in the living room.
