The Starfish Cottage is the perfect place to relax for your next getaway. Located in the Pierpont neighborhood of Ventura which is just west of the 101 freeway between San Buenaventura State Park and The Marina. This ideal location offers the best of Ventura.

Bike trails will take you along ocean paths to Santa Barbara or east to Ojai. Restaurants are within walking distance from The Starfish. The Marina has the best bikini store along with well established eateries.

Head across the freeway to old downtown Ventura for a great shopping or dining experience. Check out the resell shops, wine bars, and just all the wonderful locally owned businesses.

The cottage kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Our large outdoor patio is comfortable and roomy. Our home is situated on the north side - or sunny side of the lanes- so you will get nice morning breezes and afternoon sun.

Step outside the front door for a less then a 2 minute walk to the beach. All Pierpont lanes end at the State Beach.

You will love our new extra comfy king bed in the master bedroom - we splurged on the mattress and bedding. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the den has a new queen sofa sleeper. All linens are 600 count cotton sheets, pillows are the Allergen brand and we only use cotton covered down like comforters on all beds. We also provide plenty of throw blankets and extra blankets for your comfort.

An outdoor hot/cold shower is available to wash sand off yourself and your suits before going inside. A small amount of sand can clog the pipes and drains.

The kitchen is completely stocked with dishes (indoor and out) for your needs. We have a toaster, crock pot, Vitamix, Mocca Master Coffee Pot, spices, condiments and anything in the fridge is free to use.

All beach items are stored in The Tuff Shed behind the east front gate. Bikes can be stored behind the locked gate. The Shed is full of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and other beach items that you will not have to pack.

The property is on the beach block of the beautiful Ventura seagrass beaches, and is also only 5 minute walk from the quaint Pierpont shopping area offering dining, drinks, yogurt, and coffee shops. Also a few blocks away is a Vons supermarket, Donut shop, Starbucks, bike shop, running shop. Towards the other end of Pierpont Boulevard is Marina Park where people walk dogs, play with their kids, do yoga and watch the surfers. An absolute must do is the bike ride (or walk) along the bike lane that is over the beach to the Ventura Pier where you can have tacos on the pier or go for a nice ocean view dinner at the Beach House Restaurant and get beers at the local MadeWest Brewery above. Make sure not to miss the amazing sunsets in front of the house and the gorgeous views of the islands as well!

We ask all visitors to be mindful that a portion on this home is located below the home upstairs. Great effort has been taken to minimize sound from passing to the downstairs unit. However, as is typical with any 2-story home, the occasional footstep or muffled voice may be heard.

Getting around by personal car is very easy. Property is a few minutes from public transit. Rideshare is readily available.

✨AMENITIES: We provide towels, and starter toiletries such as hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, coffee, spices, oil, sponges, & trash can liners.

✨ENTRY: There is a keypad located at the front door for a simple keyless entry. Entry code will be provided to you 72 hours before arrival. The code is changed after every guest.

✨PARKING: There is a two car garage and two additional parking spaces in the driveway. There is additional on-street parking allowed out front.

✨THE DRIVE: The house is very easy to find, the home is just a few minutes from the 101.

✨INTERNET: The house has reliable high speed internet throughout the entire space. You can log into your Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc. accounts with the Smart TV.

✨BEDROOMS: There are 4 bedrooms: 3 bedrooms with a queen bed and the primary suite has a king bed. There is also a queen sized sofa bed in the living room. The home can accommodate up to 10 guests.

✨KITCHEN: Fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and all basic kitchen essentials: Pots/Pans/Plates/Cups/Utensils. There is a water filtration system in place for the whole house. Water out of all faucets in the home is filtered.

✨SECURITY: Security cameras are located at the front of the house and above the garage for your security. However, there are NO cameras inside of the home.

The space
Nestled in the town of Oak View, our Airbnb is right next to the Ventura River Preserve, which offers a variety of trails for hiking and long afternoon strolls. Our Airbnb is merely steps away from the Ojai Valley Bike Trail, and we are also only a few minutes away from Lake Casitas Recreation Area and Lake Casitas Water Adventure (water park). Another plus is that you will be off the beaten path, yet close to restaurants and stores (we highly recommend Ojai Pizza!). 😋

Guest access
You will have access to the RV/Trailer Pad in the front yard. You may park your car(s) on the RV/Trailer Pad (behind your RV or trailer) if there is enough room; there is also plenty of street parking available.

You will not have access to the house or the backyard.

PLEASE NOTE — our cancellation policy is strict to ensure that you have read the description before booking and for us to avoid the hassle of having to coordinate a refund. Refunds will not be granted unless you are able to provide us with proof of exigent circumstances deeming worthy of a refund based upon our discretion.

As always, please make sure to lock up any personal items and do not leave your belongings unattended outside as a precaution, as you will be right next to a public bike trail.

Water (via hose) and sewer access (via a 4-inch ABS) is available as well — we do not offer electricity. The RV pad is 55 ft long by 11 ft wide.

The use of tents is not permitted under any circumstance, as the RV/Trailer Pad is located in a front yard in a residential neighborhood and we have neighbors.

You are also more than welcome to use a generator in the daytime from 7am-10pm during your stay, but unfortunately not at nighttime since we are located in a residential neighborhood and we have neighbors. We also do not provide an outlet to plug the generator into.

Please do not ask to send physical mail to our address, as your request will be denied.

Additionally, please be respectful of the house rules and considerate of others — pick up after yourselves, especially if you smoke! Enjoy great views of the garden and a quiet deck to hang out and drink your morning coffee, write in your journal or snack with friends.

The space
The space is cozy and warm and inviting you have a separate entrance in your own porch with area to sit or have food or write ir entertain. I don’t allow gas except for short periods of time and no one of course after 10 PM there is the occasional meal that I like to share which I would leave for you and there is a toaster, refrigerator, coffee, maker, and a microwave. There’s plenty of storage for clothes and hanging things up and also an open filing cabinet for you as you’re working. The space is also available to be rented on a daily basis but for a minimum of 30 days should you need an office downtown? This is appropriate. I do have a friendly dog however, occasionally he’s barking outside and the door that I use for your entrance is also something that accommodates his coming and going at timeswere two blocks from downtown and everything that Ojai has to offer. There is a shared bathroom with the owner myself and an area for you to put your own things as well. We were just need to coordinate use and that’s easy enough with the text or notes.

Country Living!
A restful quiet place in a bamboo garden. I have had people from all over the world stay here and I welcome them all. I just expect guests to accept my dogs. They are big, young, but really friendly. This is a country environment with animals all around: horses, alpacas, cats and dogs, chickens, peacocks, coyotes, mockingbirds, etc. Sometimes they can be heard at night. Very little traffic and no street lights,

The space
The room is upstairs, with a full size bed and very large shared bathroom across the hall There is a fold- up desk available, which makes it good for long term stays. Lots of different varieties of bamboo and organic fruits and vegetables in the gardens. There is also a meditation garden in cool bamboo shade and an indoor exercise pool.

Guests have access to the full house, including kitchen, indoor heated pool, living room with tv and all outdoor spaces

Luxurious Italian Style Suite on top of the mountain. Stunning views with patio access. Private entrance. 24/7 surveillance. One parking space in the left side of the driveway. No pets. For only one person.

The space
1. Your parking space is on the left side of the driveway. The entrance to the back of the house is on your left hand side. There is a gate (black) and there are no locks. The sliding door doesn’t lock from the outside, however, there is a video camara outside your room recording 24/7. No one comes inside your room unless you authorize. The gardener comes once a week and he is the only one that comes to that’s side of the house.

2. The entrance to your room is on the back of the house around the corner behind the patio furniture; the second glass doors (picture enclosed)

3. Trash pick up are Mondays at 7:30 a.m. I put the trash bin outside on Sunday nights. You can place the trash in the trash bin whenever you want. It is located on the right side of the house by the wood gate.

4. There are extra clean sheets and a blanket in the closet. If you need more clean towels let me know so I can get you extra.

5. A portable heater, a fan, and an air purifier are in the closet.

6. Please do not put any toilet paper, wipes, or sanitary products in the toilet. Trash bags are located in the closet.

7. No visitors allowed.

8. WiFi address and password will be provided before your arrival.

9. Quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

My place is close to restaurants, activities, nightlife, #CLU, #MambaSportsAcadamy, #Amgen. 2 miles from the main road. 30-40 min to Hollywood/Malibu Beach. 1 hr to Santa Barbara or Venice in LA. My rooms have great light, comfy beds, and very quiet and cozy. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. This is one of two bedrooms on that side of the house and share a bathroom. Check availability to rent together or separate.

This room has a desk with USB and electrical outlets. Mirror for doing make-up. Closet and a dresser for clothes. Hair dryer in bathroom. Iron and board available.
You have a private entrance, patio and the privacy of your own side of the house which has a shared bathroom with the second available bedroom.
There is no kitchen access, but in your room you have a mini fridge w/freezer. The hallway has microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and travel cups are provided as well as plates, utensils, napkins, salt and pepper packets.
Our library is available for something to read, but please don't take any off the property.
Because of our dogs and cats the door to your area will be closed to keep them out, but you are welcome to come through to say hi or if you need anything.

Sorry, but no guest pets allowed. And not suitable for babies.

Guest access
Your entrance is on the left side of the house which allows you to come and go privately. There are 3 steps up to the door. This entrance is through the bathroom, kinda weird so knock first.
Just outside your entrance you have a private patio with a table, chairs and umbrella.

My husband and I will be happy to help with any questions you may have planning your trip to this area. Local magazines will be available with events in the area.

Please make sure that you have verified all your info, selfie, government ID, etc. with AirBnB as it is required by me and I will check your ID when you arrive.
This house has cats and dogs if you have any allergies. The door to your area is always closed to keep the animals out and reduce any allergens.

The guests will have access to their own driveway on the side of the house. They will also have their own private patio and private entrance to the unit.

Guest access
Parking is provided in your own private driveway. you can park on either side of the gate. Most people park on my property but on the outside of the gate. If you are traveling cross-country and you have all your belongings that you have ever owned in your car you can park on the inside of the gate. Also if you have an electric car like a Tesla or other you can park on the inside of the gate in order to use the electric charger that runs on 240 V. It is a very quite neighborhood all you can hear is birds chirping.

Other things to note
My wife’s mother, Delma, lives with us in the main part of the house and is always home and she is from Brazil and speaks Portuguese! She also speaks a little Spanish and a little English and is here to help you too.
Also: Currently we are doing a major renovation to the backyard. You’re welcome to go back there it’s just full of dirt at the moment so my apologies to that. However perhaps you would like to run to the Lemon 🍋 trip and grab a couple. Go for it!!!
