- South Shore 35 -This spacious home features a large sunken living room and stunning ocean views. South Shore 35 has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and a large beach front lanai with plenty of spots for dining and relaxing. The ocean side of the home has multiple sliding doors that can be opened completely to the outdoors and trade winds. Other amenities include central air conditioning, beach front jacuzzi, ultra high speed wi-fi (up to 400 Mbps), televisions in every bedroom, plenty of on site parking, and a bbq grill. This is a private house; no other home, tenant or caretaker is on this property. The house sleeps a maximum of 10 guests, please see below for a detailed description of the bedrooms.

- The Beach - The beachfront side of the home has a grass yard that spills down to a private beach, accessible only by the few upscale homes located nearby. The water is calm and shallow, making it perfect for those with little ones in tow. Stand up boarding and kayaking are excellent here, and you may find yourself paddling along side schools of fish, manta rays, sea turtles and even dolphins. To swim simply put on reef shoes and walk past the coral until you reach deep water. Fishing is great from the shallow coral area. In summer season you can surf in front of the house at the break known as "Secrets".

- The Neighborhood - Hawaii Kai is an upscale residential neighborhood in eastern Honolulu. It is very safe and family friendly. Nearby you will find plenty of grocery stores, including Whole Foods and Costco, drug stores, casual dining, upscale restaurants and local boutiques. Haunama Bay is a few minutes down the street for snorkeling, other nearby activities include hiking, parasailing, jet skiing, hang gliding, and golfing. The home is located close to major highway access so is a convenient starting point for day trips. Waikiki is 7 miles away, the airport is 13 miles, and Pearl Harbor 16.

Kalani Kai Beach House is a newly renovated, private gated oceanfront home located on one of the Waialae Beach Lots with a beautiful swimming pool nestled next to a sandy beach.
The upstairs master suite has a king-size bed and panoramic ocean views from a spacious private lanai. The downstairs master suite with its king-size bed opens onto the oceanside pool lanai. The queen bedroom suite is separate just off the great room. For the kids there’s a double-double loft/bunk bed.
Kalani Kai Beach House kitchen opens to both the pool lanai and the great room. Cathedral ceilings and tall glass sliders, give the home a grand feeling of space. Each room is air-conditioned with its own zone climate control. There’s a separate cable TV family room and there are also TVs in the larger bedrooms. WIFI is available throughout the house and yard.

- "This is a beautiful facility, with the beach right out the back gate. The beach is shallow (not swimmable) and safe for children. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with utensils and gadgets. One of the two master bedrooms has a jacuzzi and a shower large enough for two (or more!). The swimming pool is not gated, so if you have young children, they need to be supervised. Getting in and out of the driveway is very doable even though you are on a busy street. No traffic noise. There is a hose outside but no outside shower. We had a great time and were very comfortable. Sandy responded to our silliest questions immediately and gave very clear directions to the house. All in all a wonderful stay."

Main living area opens up to the pool and covered lanai area giving you a fantastic indoor-outdoor space with multiple seating areas to spread out and enjoy the beautiful weather and views. All bathrooms are gorgeously appointed and there is cool and quiet AC throughout the entire home along with Sonos sound and high speed WiFi. The primary bedroom on the second floor spans the entire width of the home complete with a lanai to enjoy absolutely incredible ocean views. THE BEACH

This home is situated on a very secluded beach with little to no traffic due to the severe lack of public parking on this dead end street. Which means you can enjoy the long stretch of beach and calm ocean with almost no one around all day long giving you a sense of privacy and security for you and your family and friends. This beach is known for its calm shallow waters on the inside that are perfect for kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. Beyond the shallow inside there is an outer reef with a rideable surf spot right out front, for intermediate to advanced surfers and ocean goers.

Eddie and Harumi and their family is what I love is all about. Smile’s, caring and be chill vibe. I stayed in the master suite with private bath Along with AC if you are so inclined. Double sliding doors to their back area. I slept with them open and welcomed the breeze and morning bird songs. You can throw a dinner party for 8 in the bathroom alone! Great walk in shower and a spa tub. Eddie and Harumi’s home is very convenient Koko head, Hanauma Bay, Makapu’u beach, sandy beach, Sealife Park or head in the opposite direction and in a few short minutes hit up Kahala Mall on your way to Waikiki with all of that it has to offer Or get your shopping fixed at Ala Moana Shopping Center or hit the Beach Park across the street. Don’t forget the Palace and Art Museum too. From the house you can walk over to the neighborhood shopping plaza for Food Land grocery or eat at a variety of local food shops or stop off to Uncle Clay’s shop for some awesome shaved ice! A bank, McDonald’s, satellite post office, hair salon, Nail Parlor, Hot yoga, shoe store, and Longs Drugs (CVS) is across the way for any personal items or that bag of ice, beach towel and sunscreen on the way to the beach! Skip the crazy traffic and hotels and parking expense attached.. go for the local Eddie and Harumi’s place!

Who wants to spend hundreds of dollars/nt to stay in overcrowded and overpriced Waikiki, when you can live on the cheap like a local and experience what real Hawaii is about? This is a small studio with a large outdoor, covered dining/BBQ area. The studio is about the size of a hotel room. But unlike the crowded beaches of Waikiki, out your front door are secluded spots that are off the beaten path. 1 mile away is Costco & Walgreens instead of over priced ABC Stores.

The studio is 26 x 10 feet (8 x 3m) with about a 10 foot (3m) wide fenced and gated yard on either side with a deeper backyard with BBQ and 20 x 10 ft (7 x 3m) pergola and full sized laundry area. There is ONE parking spot on the driveway (right in front of the cottage) for guest use. Out of respect for our neighbors, we do not allow street parking. Flat screen TV with cable, Wifi, Neflix, etc.

The most affluent neighborhood in Hawaii (96821 zip code). A very charming and highly desirable place to live! It has everything you want from great eateries, shopping, beaches, jet ski, fishing, hiking, coffee shops, snorkeling, golf, crossfit, massage, yoga, whale watching, parasailing, horseback riding, scuba diving, botanical gardens, health care center, shooting range, sports bar and a marina just minutes away! Other things to note
This home is situated on a very secluded beach with little to no traffic due to the severe lack of public parking on this dead end street. Which means you can enjoy the long stretch of beach and calm ocean with almost no one around all day long giving you a sense of privacy and security for you and your family and friends. This beach is known for its calm shallow waters on the inside that are perfect for kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. Beyond the shallow inside there is an outer reef with a rideable surf spot right out front, for intermediate to advanced surfers and ocean goers.

We're conveniently located in East Honolulu, less than 5 miles away from Waikiki and 6 miles away from Hanauma Bay. You can access the beach directly from our yard. Enjoy sunset walks on the beach, oceanfront dining on our lanai, or relax in chaise loungers in our yard.

This property may not be rented for less than 30 consecutive days. Rental prices will not be reduced or adjusted based on the number of days the rental is actually used or occupied.

The space
Our home is approximately 2,000 square feet and features two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It offers everything that you could need, including a fully stocked kitchen, dining tables, and outdoor seating.

Our guests have a dedicated and private entrance and full access to our home, including the front yard, which provides direct access to the beach.

There are two other apartments on property. These are separate living spaces, with separate entrances. Areas around the exterior of the house, like the driveway and outside walkways, are shared.

Other things to note
Our home is located off a highway (three lanes in each direction) which creates noise, especially in the bedrooms closest to the street. We have installed double-pane windows and offer earplugs to help reduce the noise.

The beach is publicly accessible and not monitored by a lifeguard. Guests will be responsible for their own safety on the beach.

We have an indoor pond in our living room that is not gated off (please see pictures). Guests with infants should be careful to ensure that they monitor their youngsters at all times to prevent any accidents.

We have security cameras installed on the exterior of our property, including entrances, the front yard, and walkways around the exterior of the property.
