This “off the beaten path” private and secluded getaway has direct beautiful beach and ocean access, stunning sunsets, views of the Waianae mountain range, warm weather, and plentiful ocean wildlife viewing.
From the yard, relax and watch dolphins, whales, turtles, monk seals, and surfers at the world class surf break.
The Island’s Westside has a large Hawaiian population and is favored by many locals for its Aloha spirit, wonderful uncrowded sandy beaches, surf spots, and tide pools.
The home’s outdoor center courtyard is steps away from the ocean and great snorkeling, diving, surfing, paddle boarding, body surfing, fishing, tide pooling, and swimming.
Three comfortable Hawaiian-legacy styled detached living areas frame the ocean-facing sandstone courtyard. The living room and combined kitchen with high ceilings has sliding doors that open directly to the courtyard which is shaded by a lovely Hau tree. This is the main gathering area of the beach house. Most of your time will be spent here while you enjoy the exterior oceanfront courtyard dining area that features a large outdoor dining table that seats eight comfortably, a tranquil shaded lounging area, and a custom made adjustable charcoal BBQ. The backyard has an outdoor shower and a hammock attached to coconut trees. There are many areas to lounge throughout the property, whether it be under a plumeria or coconut tree, in the shady courtyard, or on a daybed in the living room.
The second living area includes the master bedroom with a comfortable king size bed and features a breathtaking view of the ocean through a picture window. The second bedroom includes a queen size bed. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom.
The third living area includes two bedrooms with one queen and one twin bed in each room. An ensuite full bathroom connects the two rooms. All four bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans.

Welcome to our 5-bedroom modern retreat on Oahu's sunny west shore! This is a top/bottom duplex with separate entrances and is rented as a whole home. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and two bedrooms with a third bathroom downstairs. This newly remodeled home is designed for your comfort and convenience, offering a blend of contemporary style and laid-back island living.
Stay cool and comfortable with air conditioning throughout the house, including every bedroom. The open-concept layout creates a seamless flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, ideal for socializing and spending quality time together. There are TWO KITCHENS, one upstairs and one downstairs, for the convenience of larger groups. You will have the entire duplex home and property to yourself with no shared spaces. Both duplex units have separate entrances.
Please be advised that our property is situated in a neighborhood without a Homeowners Association, which may result in some neighbors having unkempt yards. Additionally, there are occasional homeless encampments on the nearby beach, and the immediate surroundings may not be aesthetically ideal.
However, our home is a newer remodel, securely fenced in the backyard to provide a private and comfortable space for our guests. The true appeal of this location lies in its convenient proximity to top-rated west side attractions, including beaches like Makaha, Keawaula (Yokohama), Maili, Nanakuli, Kahe (Electric Beach), and Pokai Bay, primarily within a 5-15 minute drive. Some duplex houses have a door in the middle locked on each side to separate or open if the two units is rented as a whole. spacious & comfortable.

There is very little property on this side of the island these days, maybe even in town that is private and without neighbors AND WITHOUT street lights. When you drive from the property heading towards the main highway, it’s like you’ve entered the twilight zone (hustle and bustle.)

The duplex house is located on coral, being non-arable is impossible for growing yearly crops. So we have found other ways to help pay the cost of residential water instead of paying farmers price for water that we are not given even though this property is, “AGRICULTURE 2” . Other costs as well.
Mom and I usually water plants around the property during the evenings when it's cooler weather.

- "Stayed here with 6 people for 3 weeks. 2 of us were working and the other 4 were strictly vacationing. This was a great place for us to gather, sleep, plan, and otherwise spend our downtime together. Having everything fully stocked was a very nice touch. Kitchen, bathrooms, beach supplies, everything you need for your time on the island. Adriana has thought of it all. The secured, private parking is a big plus. We spent a good amount of time around the fire pit as a group. My partner and I enjoyed sitting on the porch together while watching/listening to the waves. This property is not in a touristy part of the island. Do not expect Mai Tais served to you at your beach lounger. For us, this property was a great value and an awesome place to plan our daily adventures."

This 1985 VW Westfalia has everything you need to explore the island your way. This classic bus seats & sleeps up to 4 adults in its 2 fold out beds. It also includes a kitchenette with sink, cooler, and two burner stove. There are direct hookups for electricity & plenty of storage. Recent upgrades include LED headlights, dashboard phone holders, new mirror +driver seatbelt.
The campervan is mobile! You will want to book a campsite in advance to park the van overnight. We recommend the state and county campsites via respective websites. Some of our favorites are Malaekahana, Ho'omaluhia Botancial Garden and Bellows Beach. Camping permits can be obtained no sooner than two weeks in advance and some campsites are popular and sell out quickly. As many sites do not allow vehicular camping, we also provide a small tent. You can also book a private campsite found using apps like "HipCamp."
Almost all Hawaii beaches are public so you can park wherever allowed; however, we recommend you do not park overnight at public beaches.

But the entryway is located on historical “Lualualei Naval Magazine road.” The house is a huge one story duplex. A duplex is two units with a wall separating these units. This duplex house having a door in the middle locked on each side to separate or open if the two units is rented as a whole. Both units are Very spacious and comfortable. The entire front of the house is a covered open patio.
After March 9, 2025, this listing is for a 1 bdrm, 1 ba. A lanai in front and deck. You will be hanging with the birds.
This is private except for guests staying in the unit next to you.
The nightly rate covers the property. The fees go to the locals who do the work keeping this place operating and ongoing improvements.
This is not your average resort type or average residential area such as a subdivision. The property is located on a historical gathering place.
There is very little property on this side of the island these days, maybe even in town that is private and without neighbors AND WITHOUT street lights. When you drive from the property heading towards the main highway, it’s like you’ve entered the twilight zone, meaning hustle and bustle of everyday with people everywhere. This island is becoming concrete, The scarce Oahu island Hawaii nei. Visiting the Hawaiian islands wanting to just relax and get away? There’s lots of people in Waikiki and Honolulu, almost everywhere you go. For now at this place, there are no neighbors and no lights. It gets very dark here. This is a place to see the stars.
By staying here you will get a sense of something meaningful. I believe this valley, with its history has spiritual roots and each person will have a unique connection, an experience you just can’t seem to pin point.
There is much work to do here. I am hopeful next year, a huge difference…. All with good intentions.
Before we decided to list on Vrbo as a short term rental, this duplex was rented as a monthly rental for a few years.
The duplex house is located on coral, being non-arable is impossible for growing yearly crops. So we have found other ways to help pay the cost of residential water instead of paying farmers price for water that we are not given even though this property is zoned , “AGRICULTURE ZONE 2.” We only offer natural attractions.
If you wish for resort type, we are only 8 minutes away from Koolina resorts and Kapolei shopping area. There is different public beach access at the Koolina resorts ,

It’s almost a private hiking spot. Very beginner to advanced hiking.
History: A high ranking navy officer was first to buy this land across from the house and all the way down towards the main highway. He raised cattle and used the natural resources of rocks on the mountains for the construction of several corrals, keeping the cattle from straying. If you hike up the mountain in front of the house just 10-15 feet up, you will be able to see the corrals made of stacked rocks if you look towards the left side of the street, close to the beginning of Lualualei Naval Road. You can also see stacked rocks going up the mountain and joining to naturally formed sides of the mountain used as fences,

History: Foreigners came to this property for the purpose of trading goods, livestock, plants, and all sorts of things.
Foreigners would then spend the night to rest for the next days journey going through the pass of the kolekole’s sheer cliffs, leading onto the north side of the island without having to go all the way around the island to do more trading, gatherings, and telling stories of their journeys.
Then making their way back the next day and eventually back onto their ships.
When King Kalakaua reigned the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1874, I was told from a prominent source, that King Kalakaua acquired huge amounts of coal from different countries. The huge bins that stored all this coal is still in the very same spot and you can see all the scorch marks of coal located on the docks in Pearl Harbor. Unseen by citizens. The King knew someone will be coming for the collection of $$ for the large quantities of coal. He had no real money, only his kingdom and lands was what was of interest. The King wanted to know who will be first to arrive?
The king had young boys ages 12-16, if I remember correctly, settle on this very place for the purpose of sending these young scouts up to the top of several mountains surrounding this place and along the kolekole mountains to be a lookout for ships coming to Oahu. The Kolekoke is a huge advantage because You can see as far as you can see across the ocean. From the kolekole point, you can see both the north and the south.
These young boys were allowed to be married at a young age and have keikis ( children).
Lualualei Naval ammunition Base station, our neighbor, leads to the The kolekole passage from the south going through the sheer mountains and entering the north side. Kolekole is still being used by the United States military. Huge military vehicles drive up and down the lualualei naval road almost every week or even more.
There is tall posts with red lights always flashing. These are low sonar detectors for detecting deep underwater. Submarines??

Cultural events like, “1st birthdays,”is a historical cultural event due to the fact , Hawaii not having modern medicine to treat serious illnesses, if baby lived to be one years old, it was something big and worth celebrating. This was the biggest celebration than any other. This historical celebration is still going on big today. All cultural events here from different people always have over 150 to over 300 people that are just family and friends. Yes, big family events is also a long time culture in Hawaii. The Kolea Alaskan migrating birds, also known as the pacific golden plovers come and stay here too. Just a few that I’ve seen.
These little birds are not swimmers, they cannot just take a little break and float/sit on the water, they will drown. How they fly 3 days straight without stops to Alaska is incredibly unique.

Down home, regular folks place, with full kitchen and all the usual amenities. Very quiet and private except for tons of birds in the morning! Owners just as nice as can be. Pay 4+ times more for Disney hotel room 25 mins. away or just drive there from here! The best." - "This place is amazing as is the host. All the plants and trees and a mountain! The location is very convenient. We spent hours just sitting on the patio enjoying the location. The accommodations were top notch. Our home is two separate living quarters with separate entries. We reside on the first floor and accommodations on 2nd floor w/your private room and shared bathroom w/another room. The kitchenette, balcony, and living room are common spaces which are tidied often.
The entry point leads to your private room on the 2nd floor with about 16 steps to the right hallway where your private room is located. You'll be sharing a bathroom with the other rental room which can sleep two. The living room, kitchenette, and balcony are shared spaces. The shared space includes security and surveillance for the exterior entry and foyer. Each room is equipped with a punch code keyless entry to lock your private furnished room and workspace.

Wai'anae is a close-knit community, and hometown to familiar faces such as actor Jason Momoa, MMA fighter Max Holloway, and Influencer Bretman Rock. This town is the countryside with a feel for old Hawai'i, the truly local impression offering some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, largest pod of spinner dolphins on the coastline, and beautiful sunsets. Though, like all beautiful places where everyone wants to be, we do experience traffic. The rush hour begins at 3:00pm going into our town, though a contra-flow lane opens in the far left lane at this time to alleviate traffic. To avoid rush hour, return after 6:30pm.
Not only are we less than a one-minute walk to the beach, we're also within walking distance to casual eateries and a very quick drive, or even a walk to a grocery store, laundromat, drug store, and the post office.

-No shoes in the house.
-Again, no shoes in the house (unless clean, not used outside--house shoes) This is our local custom in Hawai’i.
-Please rinse your sandy toes prior to entering the home, or if you were walking barefoot outside. There's a water spigot on the left side of the home.
-Smoking is not permitted within the rooms and inside the home. It is okay on the balcony when windows are closed.
-No sugary beverages in the room.
-Please no frying fish or cooking foods that may leave a lingering odor.
-Please turn off the lights when not in use.
-No loud noise/music between 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.
-Quiet hour on Fridays between 1:00pm-2:00pm due to remote work.
-Please don’t feed our dogs Camilo & Emi. They are old, have a strict diet, and need to lose weight.

-This space is child-friendly, but not childproof. Please ensure that children are never left unsupervised, and a responsible adult is present with them at all times.
-Our neighbors enjoy celebrating the holidays with fireworks and on the weekends have occasional family parties in their yard which is the typical local culture. You may also hear noise from the main road occasionally with emergency services. My doggies Emi and Camilo can be vocal for a minute from time to time as well. Closed windows can eliminate much of this, though if you are sensitive to noise please reconsider this booking.
-This home is equipped with central AC, and for the most part, we keep the windows and the sliding door closed. If you'd prefer fresh air, please inform us and we'll adjust our thermostat.
-We don't provide a laundry facility due to allergies and sensitive skin in our household, though there is a laundromat in very close proximity.
-Our home is equipped with surveillance in our main home entries, and the foyer (hallway up the stairs).
-Hawai'i State regulations require a 30-day minimum rental. Please contact us for further details about this, and for possible availability.

- "This property is a very short walking distance from one of Hawaii's most beautiful beaches on the west side of Oahu. Great sunsets are a bonus, as are breathtaking mountain views. The property is nestled in a private neighborhood and set back from the street. It is only a short walk away from two supermarkets, a drugstore, and a multitude of local eateries; also close to public transportation. Included are air conditioning, a small patio and patio deck, and access to a large community kitchenette (no stove), with full-size refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, coffee maker, and air fryer. Internet is provided. Bathroom is shared with one other tenant. The whole place is extremely clean. I highly recommend these accomodations. "

Ocean view penthouse condo. This studio is located in the Pokai bay Marinas. this condo has a well equipped kitchen and boosts beautiful coast line views. The building is equipped with fenced parking , modern day security entrance system. and elevator. There is a roof top community room that has a tv room , laundry room, full kitchen , patio tables
and bbq for your convenience. The views from the community space boosts views of the Pokai bay, the Wainae coast and mountain range
- "The condo was very nice, well appointed and clean. The view from the Lani was awesome and the people at the condo were great. The property manager was always there when we needed help and was very friendly. The rooftop common area was totally awesome, providing 360 degree views of the coast lines and mountains. The laundry facilities are up there as are full kitchen facilities. There is deck furniture all around as well as places to play games, watch TV, or just relax with a book. The beach, shopping, restraints, banks, clubs, etc are just a short walk away."

NOTE: On site manager resides in the lower-level home with its own private entrance. Please ensure all guests can climb stairs safely. There are 5 stairs leading to the entrance of the house and 7 that lead to the bedrooms upstairs.
Smoking of any kind is not allowed in the house and a fine will be assessed if the no smoking rules are not observed.
No parties of any kind are allowed in the house.
It is highly recommended to bring a vehicle and please drive slowly as there are kids that play outside frequently. Additionally, Hawaii offers a public transportation system(bus) that is a 5 min walk away.
CALENDAR FEATURE & AVAILABILITY DISCLAIMER:
- The Guest acknowledges that the availability calendar displayed on the booking platform may, at times, reflect inaccuracies due to synchronization delays, system errors, or other technical limitations beyond the Host’s control.
- Certain date restrictions, including minimum stay requirements, may not reflect actual availability and Guests are encouraged to contact Host directly for clarification should this arise.
- The Host makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the absolute accuracy of the calendar feature(s) and reserves the right to modify, cancel, or adjust reservation dates should a discrepancy arise.
- In the event of an availability conflict, the Host shall notify the Guest as soon as practicable and, where possible, offer alternative accommodations or a full refund of any amounts paid.
BY BOOKING THIS PROPERTY YOU AGREE TO THE RENTAL AGREEMENT LISTED BELOW.
RENTAL AGREEMENT & POLICIES:
This Rental Occupancy Agreement (“Agreement”), entered into as of the date of reservation confirmation, is made by and between the undersigned property owner or authorized agent (“Host”) and the reserving party (“Guest”), collectively referred to as the “Parties.” This Agreement shall govern the temporary occupancy of the premises described herein and shall be binding upon the Parties hereto.
- The Guest covenants agrees to abide by all applicable laws, ordinances, zoning restrictions, and municipal codes governing transient accommodations within the City and County of Honolulu.
- The Guest acknowledges that failure to comply with said regulations shall constitute grounds for the immediate termination of occupancy without refund, and the Guest shall bear any resulting liability.
- The Guest shall remit all payments, including but not limited to rental fees, deposits, and ancillary charges, in accordance with the payment schedule outlined on the reservation platform.
- The cancellation policy governing this reservation shall be as set forth at the time of booking and shall remain enforceable in its entirety.
- The Guest acknowledges and agrees that this property may not be rented for less than 30 consecutive days. Rental prices will not be reduced or adjusted based on the number of days the rental is actually used or occupied.
- The Guest shall conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of the premises, its surroundings, and the neighboring community.
- The Guest shall follow all house rules outlined on the reservation platform.
- The Guest shall not engage in conduct that constitutes a nuisance, including but not limited to excessive noise, disruptive behavior, or any unlawful activity.
- The premises shall not be utilized for any purpose other than residential occupancy. Subletting or assignment of this Agreement is strictly prohibited.
- The Guest shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Host from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from the Guest’s occupancy of the premises.
- The Host shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained by the Guest, invitees, or any third party during the occupancy period, except as expressly required by law.
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the Parties and supersedes any prior discussions or representations. Any modifications must be in writing and executed by both Parties.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties hereto have agreed to the foregoing terms and acknowledge their binding effect upon confirmation of reservation.
