You found it! A large 1,100 square foot, two bedroom, nicely upgraded beachside vacation rental that can sleep up to 8 guests and is fully stocked. The Beach Lane Hale (pronounced 'Ha-Lay') is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful beach and visit Oahu's attractions. It's located on the southern border of Laie, on Oahu's northeast shore so the waves don't get so big that you can't swim.

The entire rental is fully air conditioned, not just the two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have comfortable king-size beds and HD TV's. Two full size futon couches in the living room make room for four more guests or children.

The very large kitchen is a wonderful place to prepare meals or barbecue outside and enjoy the large covered lanai and fully-fenced yard. A dishwasher makes clean up easy.

Walk past a few houses to the end of the lane and you'll find a path right to the beach (this is a legal access about 100 yards from the house). The air conditioning was a great touch, and the yard outside was fantastic. We loved eating our meals outside, and the kids loved lounging in the hammock chair. The one thing I will mention is that the portable AC unit used to cool the space isn’t suuuper effective at cooling down the whole room, so it could get toasty in the summer, but it worked fine for our needs in April. Kelly was very responsive and helpful with all our questions and concerns and the studio is in a great spot right by Hukilau beach and the cafe down the street. We loved it here and would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

I love this town so much, that once I got married and started a family, I knew that this is where I wanted to raise my now 4 beautiful children. Laie is known for sites such as the Polynesian Cultural Center, Brigham Young University-Hawaii campus and the Laie LDS Temple (all within 5-10 minute walking from the rental). You just across the street from the iconic Hukilau beach-perfect for body boarding beginners and as well as experts just half a block away. The backdrop of the Ko'olau mountain range with beautiful hikes reaching waterfalls are also viewed from the rental. Order some Hawaiian sweet bread french toast and Portuguese sausage and eggs for breakfast at the famous Hukilau Café just a couple hundred feet from your bedroom. What you might not see in a travel book, is the spirit of love and Aloha thriving here in this small town; you need to visit to understand.

This studio apartment is attached to the single story duplex that our family lives in. The studio does not share any interior space with anyone else, but the walls are attached on both sides to our family home. We did our best to soundproof the walls, but there may still be some noise transfer. Quiet hours begin at 10pm.

The studio accommodates up to 2 adults and one baby under the age of 2. The space has one solid wood queen bed, custom built to accommodate storing luggage underneath. A pack n play is available upon request for baby. There is a small dresser, night stand, clothing rod and hangers.

The full kitchen area has all the basic necessities and plenty of storage. There is a modern kitchen table, full size fridge, apartment size oven/range, large basin kitchen sink with sleek black matte faucet to match the rest of the cabinet hardware. There are pots/pans, dishes and flatware, dishwashing supplies, blender, toaster, rice cooker, microwave, coffee maker, essential oil diffuser.

The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub/shower and large vanity with plenty of storage. Bath towels and wash cloths are on the solid wood shelves above the toilet. Beach towels are in the bottom vanity drawer.

Bed linens, kitchen towels, bath towels/wash cloths and beach towels are provided, as well as toilet paper, paper towels and some basic cleaning supplies.

The door to the studio is accessed from the driveway. There is an electronic keypad deadbolt on the door, the code will be made accessible to you prior to your stay.

30 day minimum stay. Our spacious apartment is about 30 yards from Hukilau Beach, which has moderate-sized waves, just right for swimming or boogie boarding, included. On this quiet beach, you can often walk for long distances in either directions without seeing anyone.

Our second-floor apartment is 700 sq. ft. with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The living room has a double-sized futon sofa. New flooring throughout. New bedding. The kitchenette has granite countertops and comes with everything you might need to make meals. One balcony faces the Mormon Temple and the other has a view of the beach. Also, even if AC is included in the cost, due to the extremely high AC bills ($800 a month), we ask ALL guests to turn off the AC when they leave the house. ABOUT OUR HOUSE:
Our house is located in Laie, which offers a lot of relaxation in an unspoiled part of Hawaii that remains very Polynesian in culture (i.e. very warm and friendly). The Polynesian Cultural Center, Oahu's most visited attraction, is just 1 mile up the road.

The location of the house is unique. Just read the guest reviews! The house sits inside a beautiful state beach park. We have a 120-degree view of the ocean from the large covered deck. The only thing between our house and the beach is 40 steps across the grass field.

Also, the beach easily ranks as one of the best in Hawaii. You will find yourself taking spectacular morning and evening beach walks. Because our beach is behind a reef, there are no big waves so you can swim year round.

To our left, for 3/4 mile, there are no houses along the beach. Just tropical park trees. You really feel like you are on a tropical island. The beach is wide and the ocean is all sandy bottom. To our right there is great snorkeling and there is a popular local ocean play ground the locals call the "Alligator Pond" because a series of rocks in the water look like an alligator from afar. Kids love the pond because the water is shallow and warm so even toddlers can play without any waves (which are caught by those rocks). They get fascinated by the little tropical fish swimming around in the pond.

Also to the left there are great areas for bigger kids (9+) to safely boogie board. Because our beach is behind a reef, the waves are just big enough to get some nice rides. A Little further up the beach waves are larger and longer. Great for the older kids.

The best feature of the house is the large deck which is covered by the upstairs part of the house. Because trees to our right shield the house from Ocean winds you can enjoy every breakfast, lunch and dinner out on the deck overlooking the park and ocean. That is really relaxing!

The house has 4 guest bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (w. shower/tub). Total square footage is about 1300. 3 bedrooms have queen beds, AC and TV. The 4th (usually the kids' room) has 2 double beds.

We have a car port and a driveway that has room for two additional cars.

We rent out the whole house except one upstairs bedroom which is the owner's quarters when we are at the house (we are never at the house when there are guests so you have the house to yourselves).

THE LAW!
By Oahu law, the following statement is required to be posted:
"This property may not be rented for less than 30 consecutive days! The monthly rental fee will not be reduced or increased based on the number of days the rental is used."

Simply put, your rental contract will cover 30 days and you have the right to stay as many of the 30 days as you desire. The cost is the stated monthly rate, regardless of the number of days you stay.

Can we rent your house for 14 days?
ANSWER: No. Oahu law requires that all rental contracts are for 30 or more days. You can stay at our house for 10 nights, or 14, 18, 23, etc. But your stay will be covered under a 30-day contract and you will pay the full monthly rent regardless of the number of days you occupy the house.

Do we have to stay 30 days?
ANSWER: NO! Oahu does not require you occupy the house for the full month. But no one else can stay at the house but you during your month.

The monthly rent sounds like we would waste money if we only want to stay 14 nights.
ANSWER: Just look at other properties right by the beach with 3 or 4 bedrooms and you will see that when you calculate your cost on a daily basis, our rate is lower than similar properties. A lot lower in many cases. And with us you have the option of staying longer than 14 days at no additional cost because the entire month is yours.

Downstairs there is one bedroom with a queen size bed we will call this bedroom #1. There is also alittle office space, a bathroom in the hall that has a shower, the kitchen, a dining space, and a living room.

Upstairs are 4 more bedrooms. Bedroom #2 has a Queen and a twin bed. Bedroom #3 has 3 twin beds. Bedroom #4 has a Cal King. Bedroom #5 we will call the primary which has a Cal king bed and an ensuite bathroom with a tub and a shower. Bedrooms #2-4 share a bathroom in the hall which has a tub/shower combo. There is also a laundry room and another living room.

The home is set up sort of like a duplex and we rent out to a few college students on the left side of the home. There is no interior access between the homes. Two of your rooms Bedrooms #2 and #3 are above the neighbors. Since bedroom #3 with the twin beds is usually used by kids we ask that you just be courteous of any stomping early in the mornings.

Ceiling fans abound, Hawaiian quilts adorn the beds – the very flexible accommodation has 5 bedrooms – all ensuite – the main house has two bedrooms on each side - connected to the main house by a lanai - each bedroom can be configured as either King or Twin and each end can be interconnected, or closed off. The rooms are named after Hawaiian trees or plants - The Ilima room has a bath with shower over, the Kukui, Milo and Koa rooms all others have walk in showers only. Each room has its own unique furnishings and style. There is a pack-and-play and highchair available.

The remaining bedroom is in a sleeping cottage called the “Palaka House". It has 5 Twin beds and an ensuite bathroom with large shower (this can also be made as King/Twin). The Palaka House is situated a mere 50 feet from the main house.

The main house has a large living room with pune'e (Hawaiian day bed) seating area for relaxing – and a Koa wood suite from the 1950s - a wonderful place for family chatting, board games, reading or napping. There is a pool table and indoor dining table which typically seats 10, but you can pull up extra chairs to seat more. There is another seating area in front of the fireplace – perfect for cooler nights. Lauhala mats lie on the floor with ceiling fans overhead. The room has glass/screen doors that open on to the front lanai which has a wonderful ocean view.

The main house has a separate study with books galore, another pune'e and comfy seating. There is a table and chairs for jigsaws or playing games.

The kitchen is old Hawaiian style, with doors to the front lanai seating/dining area. It is set up for larger family groups with two refrigerators – one for food and the other fridge/freezer for drinks and ice cream. Two dishwashers and plenty of cutlery/dishes for big family groups. There is a breakfast table with bench seating - There are usually two BBQs – one charcoal and the other gas to satisfy any cook.

The front lanai has a large seating area to enjoy ocean views, and an outdoor dining table/seating area for morning coffee and long evening dinners. The back lanai has two seating areas overlooking the back yard towards the pool and paddle tennis court.

The main purpose of this estate is family time and fun – there is a wonderful fenced in saltwater pool, with shallow area for small children, or just sitting on the steps chatting; plus a V shaped main pool area which allows for pool volley ball. [Note there is an additional fee for heating the pool during cooler weather if requested.] A shaded area allows for relaxed child supervision and meals by the pool, and there are recliners/loungers for those that want to bask under the Hawaiian sun.

The property has a hard surface paddle tennis court, plus equipment for croquet, volleyball, badminton, giant jenga, and other outdoor games – as well as a 2 acre front yard for baseball, cricket, tag etc. Even with a large group there are plenty of corners for quiet relaxation – comfy chairs in the bedrooms, cozy corners on the lanai for reading a book, or napping but also group seating areas for catching up. There’s a large hammock swinging under two palm trees.

Inside – board games including Clue, Monopoly, chess, checkers, cribbage, boggle, scrabble and numerous board and card games. Plenty of old style wooden jigsaws and a library full of books. A toy chest has a plethora of items to keep younger children happily entertained.

We have avocados and mangoes when in season. The property has native Hawaiian plants, Naupaka, Pohinahina, Ti, Torch Ginger, Plumeria, Heliconia, Stephanotis, Hoya and native Hibiscus on the property – floral scents waft across the silky tropical air.

Native Hawaiian birds fly by the property, you'll see the Ae’o (Native Hawaiian bird) fly in some nights and Kolea (Pacific Golden Plover) and ‘Akekeke (Ruddy Turnstone) are in the yard in winter season.

The beach is across the road. Guests have been known to come for a week and never make it to the beach because the property is so relaxing and there’s plenty to keep yourselves entertained.

Located only 0.6 miles from the Polynesian Cultural Center, 20 minutes from famous Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay. Historic Haleiwa town is a 40 minute drive along the beautiful Northern Coast. The city of Honolulu and the airport are both about an hour away. This is a great location to stay if you also plan to visit all of Oahu, that is, if you can tear yourselves away.

In accordance with local short term rental regulations, we only offer one stay every 30 days, or stays of 30 days or more. All prices are subject to local taxes at current rate at time of booking (currently GET at 4.712% and TAT of 10.25% and OTAT at 3%).

Other things to note
In Hawaii its customary to remove shoes before entering a home and we do ask that you do the same.

Sand: We ask that you please wash off all sand before entering the home. You'll find that shaking the sand off towels and washing your feet before coming back from the beach will make the home much more enjoyable during your stay.

Excessive sand in the house, pool or furniture will incur an additional cleaning fee of $250 plus applicable state taxes.

Our country beach house is located on the Island of Oahu approximately one hour from Honolulu and the Airport. The house is a 6-bedroom, 4-bath, two-story home on an acre beach lot with an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean and an all sport court (paddle tennis, basketball, and badminton) in a fenced compound. Each floor has a primary bedroom overlooking the ocean and there is a full kitchen on each floor so it is designed to accommodate two families. It is located very close to PCC.

The space
Escape to your own private, country beach house paradise! The house is a 6-bedroom, 4-bath, two-story home on an acre beach lot with an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean and an all sport court (pickleball, basketball, and badminton) in a fenced compound. Each floor has a primary bedroom overlooking the ocean and there is a full kitchen on each floor so it is designed to accommodate 2 families. *Newly added AC to 4 bedrooms!

There is a massage deck and hammock hidden in a tree-covered area for privacy and it is only yards from the beach. There is also an outdoor dining area that seats 10 under the trees for that perfect BBQ. There are beautiful views of the ocean from the wrap-around decks. It is literally one of the most beautiful protected bays in the Islands. Many of the older families in Honolulu have their private beach homes on this bay. The house is a quiet, upscale property which is popular with local artists, writers, etc.

The north shore takes you from the hustle of Honolulu to explore some of the most pristine beaches. Nearby beaches include Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay and Ehukai Beach.
