We are located on a hidden bluff at the end of a dead end road in the driftless area of Southern Wisconsin near the popular tourist destination of New Glarus, America's Little Switzerland in Green County Wisconsin.

The property is nestled in a stand of mature oak trees with rock cliffs, deer & turkeys grazing in the yard. It is a nature lovers dream!

The 2600 square foot 3.5 bath log home sits on 40 acres. The home features four spacious bedrooms with plush beds, a large surround deck in the tree tops, high speed internet & access to private walking trails that wind through the woods complete with limestone cliffs and pollinator prairies. The interior of the home is lined with pine boards that give off a pleasant aroma and add to the character adding to the cabin feel but the home is well appointed and has all the features you will likely need.

We are close to many communities like New Glarus, Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Mt Horeb where local festivals take place weekly throughout the spring, summer and fall. Take in a brewery tour or sample some fresh cheese at one of the many local cheese factories. Be sure to ask for fresh curds!

There is easy access to Yellowstone Lake State Park and Wildlife Areas with a host of other possible recreational activities including hiking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, boating. There is even hunting, in season and recreational shooting at a well maintained no cost range at Yellowstone Lake Wildlife Area.

Relax in our gorgeous barn loft above our working barn.Sleep to the sound of crickets and frogs in the pond, then wake up and pet the sheep, goat, rabbits, kittens and chickens. Open floor plan with cathedral ceiling, rustic farm decor, fire pole, and sliding barn doors. Full kitchen, whirlpool tub and separate rain shower, laundry. Stone patio with fire pit for s’mores! 2 bedrooms, also a sleeper sofa, and we have air mattresses if you need them. We provide coffee and fresh free range eggs when the chickens are laying.

Loft is heated in the winter but there is NO A/C. There are 3 huge ceiling fans to keep air moving and stand fans as well. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS.

Our property host replied to any questions almost immediately; the home was immaculate and the kitchen had everything needed for our limited stay. Whether visiting New Glarus or nearby areas, this charming little home is worth checking out!!!! Just one full bath but there’s a toilet in the downstairs, unfinished basement with full laundry utilities!!!!! Exactly what we needed! Going home after a long race without dirty, smelly laundry is priceless!!! 😁"

This home is situated on 40 acres with beautiful views of rolling hills and sunsets. The house features an open concept with vaulted ceilings in family room and living room. It has a large deck with entry from the family room, sun room and master bedroom. The spacious master bedroom has an attached bathroom with walk in tile shower, double vanities and a soaking tub. The sun room and living room both offer additional sleeping areas with a slide out full size couch and futon. The house has a convenient first floor laundry and a 3 car garage. The home has new furniture as of 2019, including beds and is very clean and comfortable. Third bathroom with shower is available in unfinished walk out basement.

It is next door to an apple orchard that is open in the Fall with fresh apples and bakery. It is conveniently located in the southwest corner of Dane County, near historic New Glarus, Mount Horeb, Mineral Point, Madison, Blue Mounds, Tyrol Ski basin, Yellowstone and Governor Dodge State Parks.

We are renting the Lower level of our personal residence. The lower level is equipped with a microwave, stocked mini-fridge (complimentary beverages), stocked Keurig (complimentary coffee), 1 bedroom (Queen bed), living area and bathroom. Renters will have access to the outdoor pool (in season), outdoor hot tub, fire pit, patio with table and chairs. Location is close to downtown New Glarus ( 2 miles), the New Glarus Brewery (<1mile) New Glarus Woods state park/bike path (<1 mile) and Baileys Run Winery (4 miles). Madison/Verona is only a 20-25 minute drive. Monroe is a 20 minute drive south.
We have a friendly dog that reside on the property.

Welcome to Dalsoren House!

Located in Wisconsin's Driftless Area on 240 acres of conserved prairie and woodlands, Dalsoren House offers a tranquility you will not find anywhere else. As a guest of Dalsoren House, you will be able to explore and enjoy restored grassland prairies, oak savannas, a pine relic, and a Class I-II DNR Trout Stream (Gordon Creek)- all without leaving the property! You can observe a wide variety of native species including red-headed and pileated woodpeckers, sandhill cranes, badgers, bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, rusty patched bumble bees, hill thistles, compass plants, and much, much more. After a day of exploring, you can relax around the firepit (we supply all the split firewood you need!) to the sounds of the spring peepers while watching a beautiful sunset. Once the sun has set, the rural night sky offers wonderful stargazing opportunities away from city lights.

We have mowed paths around the farm for you to explore nature. We do recommend you bring hiking boots/shoes, rain jackets, hiking pants, insect repellent, and sunscreen so you can enjoy the great outdoors comfortably. Conservation efforts on the farm are ongoing, and we partner with local, state, and federal organizations to carefully plan efforts from prescribed burns to native plantings. Let us know if you have any questions about the conservation work being done.

Dalsoren House was built in 1975 by Mary and Steve Thompson when they returned to the family farm to take over the dairy operations from Steve's parents. Mary and Steve used the barn as inspiration for the design of Dalsoren. They harvested the lumber from the farm, employed all local contractors, and did a lot of the work themselves. They incorporated a variety of unique features - such as stained glass - to create a truly one-of-a-kind home for their family. In 2020, the Thompsons did a complete restoration of Dalsoren House - again, using timber sustainably harvested from the farm and employing local contractors. The restoration was carefully planned to keep the original character of the house. The Thompson family (including a very friendly Labrador named Ole) still lives on the property today in the family farmhouse (built in 1901).

As of 2021, Dalsoren House has a new kitchen, bathroom, roof, windows, and sidings, as well as new furnishings and appliances. Dalsoren House can sleep 4-6 people comfortably. There are two bedrooms (1 queen bed and 2 twin beds) as well as 2 twin roll-away beds.

- Heating and Air Conditioning: The house has central heating for cool days in the early spring and fall. For those warmer summer days, each bedroom has an air conditioning unit. There are powerful ceiling fans throughout the house as well.

- Accessibility: There is a poured cement sidewalk to the house. There are three steps up to the front porch - the porch has railings. The house is a loft-style with two bedrooms on the second floor. The ground floor has a bathroom with an accessible shower, rollaway twin beds, living room/great room, and kitchen. Please contact us for more information.

My place is close to parks, restaurants, the city center and arts and culture. You'll love my place because of the neighborhood. The city of Verona is a fast growing community with lots of brand new homes. My place is located in one of the newer communities. My place is good for couples, business travelers, families and groups. We are located approximately 20 minutes from Madison and approximately 5 minutes from Epic. The apartment comes fully equipped with modern appliances and cozy beds. A washer and dryer is available for your use, however, we do not supply detergents.

- "This house is literally in the middle of New Glarus. It is well appointed and extremely comfortable. We needed to get away and this was the place. It is right next door to an excellent restaurant, but had we decided to cook in, all the necessary items were there. The beds were very comfortable. There are hardwood floors on the main level and brand new carpeting upstairs. There is room for one car in the garage and two outdoor spaces. We will definitely stay there again. "

We would like to welcome you to our bright newly built 2nd floor above garage apartment. Located in a family friendly neighborhood, just a 10 minute walk to downtown where you will find delicious dining, unique shops and historical sites everywhere you turn. Jarod and I with our kids live in the main house. We love giving our guest privacy but may run into you as we are enjoying the weather as often as we can with our kids running around enjoying their childhood.

The space
With your own off road parking space and private keyless entry you will enter the apartment using the ground floor door. The wide staircase at the entry leads you up to the open living area. Upon your arrival you will find complementary coffee and tea, a fully equipped kitchen and a warm sitting area in the open living space. From the spacious bathroom to the cozy king size bed along with a pull out couch in the living room, we invite you to unwind and relax after your day of travels and exploration. The space provides ample amounts of storage, laundry, and smart thermostat.

Just a block away you’ll find a playground for a family friendly location. We have a selection of children’s toys, books and games for all that can be found in the closet next to the tv. Please let me know if you are in need of a pack and play or high chair during your stay so these can be set up upon your arrival.

Having a vehicle is best. Ride share is not available in our area. Feel free to bring your own bikes and enjoy many bike trails in the area. You will have one off street parking spot in the drive way and more parking on street if needed.

The space
There is an exterior staircase to reach the apartment. Also, if you are over 6'3" you will be close to the ceiling in the shower. It has a fixed head and a hand held head that may be more convenient for very tall individuals. The entrance and kitchen side of the apartment overlooks the Ott Haus biergarten. If you catch the right sunny summer afternoon, you might get to enjoy live music from the deck. You should not be able to hear any noise from the beer garden in the bedroom. The bedroom overlooks New Glarus's village park.

New Glarus is famous for all of their festivals always something going on around town.

We have reserved a parking spot for you located just steps from the building entrance. You will be located in the heart of New Glarus with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Enjoy a walk to the park or on the Sugar River Nature Trail. Please be aware that the reserved parking space will not be available during festivals due to street closure. However, there is plenty of on-street parking available within one block of the building.

Other things to note
There is no smoking, grilling, pit fires, tiki torches, burning of candles/incense or fireworks allowed on the deck or in the unit.

The Alpine is located on the 1st floor of the building and the business hours are Wed.- Sun. from 11 AM-7 PM.

During festivals, the roadway may be blocked, leaving little or no access to your reserved parking spot. There is plenty of on-street parking near the building and we will communicate any road closures before your arrival.

Leave the key on the counter when you check-out. In the event you lose the key, the fee to re-key is $175.

This charming cape code style home has been lovingly updated with modern comforts and conveniences, with beautifully renovated kitchen and baths, and hardwood floors throughout. Vintage, antiques and local artisan pieces complement the Amish-made tables and Italian leather couch. High speed wireless Internet is provided. There are two TV's and a stereo system.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials to make great meals at home. There is a cafe table and chairs, refrigerator/freezer, range/oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, coffeemaker, toaster, blender and crockpot. Coffee beans, a grinder, and tea bags and basic seasonings are provided. A gas BBQ is available for outdoor grilling.

This home has 3 queen-size beds to sleep up to 6. In addition an airbed can be available to sleep an additional 1 or 2 guests. .

Two cars may be parked in the driveway, and there is off-street parking for additional cars. There is a small single garage where you can park a couple of motorcycles or store bikes and other recreational gear.

This updated 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom space features a fantastic open floor plan, indoor bicycle storage and on-site parking.

Any additional guests will need an air mattress, maximum number of guests is 8, per insurance regulations.

You can utilize the garage and basement to enter the building, this space does have some personal items which are strictly off limits to our guests. We want to be able to offer the use and convenience of the garage for our guests, so please respect this rule, garage is the only area equipped with indoor camera’s.

2 designated parking spots by garage. If available, you may park a car in the garage, all other vehicles must utilize street parking. PLEASE BE SURE to use correct side of street during winter hours (Nov-Mar) to avoid a ticket.

2025 September/October Fall Special- book an available Fri/Sat and get a Thursday or Sunday for a $99 nightly fee. Once you book Fri/Sat, send a message to ask for the Fall Special and which day you would like.

With three outdoor patios, a professional pickleball court, an indoor bar, a hot tub, a fire pit, an infrared sauna, and several relaxing places to socialize, it’s the perfect place to refocus and rejuvenate with those you love. Kitchen - Fully stocked kitchen with new appliances, health conscious cookware, crockpot, coffee maker, glassware, toaster, air fryer, blender, juicer and sharp knives.

Hearth Room - The main event of our favorite room is the floor to ceiling stone wood burning fireplace, two cuddler sofas, and an ambiance set to relax.

Upstairs Living Room - Outfitted with a cozy chaise sofa and rocker, a 60" smart TV and beautiful windows that overlook the rolling hills of New Glarus.

Main Floor Additional Full Bathroom - As a convenience when enjoying all house amenities with an extra shower when needed.

Upstairs Open Air Covered Outside Deck - Featuring 4 swivel club chairs, a gas fireplace, gas grill, and a stunning view of the rolling hills of New Glarus. This is the perfect 3 seasons room for anytime of the day to have your coffee, read a book, or debrief after your day.

Downstairs Living Room & Bar - A roomy space with sofa sectional, high top table for gathering, computer workstation, mini kitchenette and a 6 person bar, fully stocked with local New Glarus beer (Spotted Cow) on tap to get the whole experience.

Infrared Sauna - Enjoy the therapeutic benefits of our 2 person infrared sauna.

3 Bedrooms
Room #1: Sleeps 2, Private Master Suite, this 600 sq ft room features a luxury king bed, 48 inch flatscreen TV, Swivel chair for reading, a computer workstation, mini breakfast bar with a Keurig/complimentary coffee, under counter refrigerator, comfy robes for lounging and a private spacious bathroom. You could live in this room!

Room #2- Sleeps 2, Features a 4 drawer dresser, luxury queen bed, 32” smart TV, recumbent elliptical bike and comfy robes for lounging. This bedroom is ideal for those who like to sleep in complete darkness.

Room #3- Sleeps 2, This bedroom features a full closet, dresser , 40” smart TV and beautiful view of the backyard. It’s adjacent to the shared bathroom. Features a luxury king bed, extra bedding for those who like a lot of blankets/ pillows and comfy robes for lounging.

Bathrooms for Bedroom #2 & #3 - The bathroom features a vanity and shower. Stocked with all the toiletries you’ll need in case you forget any of your own. There is also an additional bathroom with a full shower on the main floor.

Guest access
While we, Bo and Paula, are on the property (and in the house) during your stay, we fully respect your privacy and want you to feel relaxed, welcomed, and at home. However, rest assured that we work most of the time and will not be in your way. Having been in the resort business for over 20 years, and as caretakers of our countryside paradise, we prioritize your privacy and comfort above all else. Your peace and tranquility are of utmost importance to us, and we promise to be discreet, allowing you to fully enjoy the magic of our retreat without interruption. Aside from our Master Suite and office, all areas are open for your enjoyment, so feel free to wander and discover every corner of our countryside paradise.

As avid pickleball enthusiasts and nature lovers ourselves, we're here to be your guides during your stay. Whether you're seeking insider tips on the best hiking trails, eager to challenge us to a friendly game of pickleball, or looking for recommendations on local wineries/breweries, we're here to ensure your stay exceeds all expectations. Other things to note
-Our pickleball court is a professional court with permanent nets. The courts are lit if you desire to play at night and there are in ground speakers for you to put your favorite playlist on while you play. We have extra paddles and tons of balls if you don't have your own to use. Can you tell we’re super into pickleball?

-We have high-speed internet that is capable of supporting zoom calls and other video demands.

-Cell phone service is strong and reliable.

-Guest have access to both our washer and dryer for your convenience.

-We supply all the wood you need for bonfires.

-Per your request, we will give you access to park two cars in our temperature controlled garage.
