We are located on a hidden bluff at the end of a dead end road in the driftless area of Southern Wisconsin near the popular tourist destination of New Glarus, America's Little Switzerland in Green County Wisconsin.

The property is nestled in a stand of mature oak trees with rock cliffs, deer & turkeys grazing in the yard. It is a nature lovers dream!

The 2600 square foot 3.5 bath log home sits on 40 acres. The home features four spacious bedrooms with plush beds, a large surround deck in the tree tops, high speed internet & access to private walking trails that wind through the woods complete with limestone cliffs and pollinator prairies. The interior of the home is lined with pine boards that give off a pleasant aroma and add to the character adding to the cabin feel but the home is well appointed and has all the features you will likely need.

We are close to many communities like New Glarus, Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Mt Horeb where local festivals take place weekly throughout the spring, summer and fall. Take in a brewery tour or sample some fresh cheese at one of the many local cheese factories. Be sure to ask for fresh curds!

There is easy access to Yellowstone Lake State Park and Wildlife Areas with a host of other possible recreational activities including hiking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, boating. There is even hunting, in season and recreational shooting at a well maintained no cost range at Yellowstone Lake Wildlife Area.

New Glarus is a charming town and Teri’s home fits right in with the ambiance. Only 30 minutes from Madison, it’s an easy drive and a quiet, quaint place to relax and unwind. Thank you, Teri! Relax in our gorgeous barn loft above our working barn.Sleep to the sound of crickets and frogs in the pond, then wake up and pet the sheep, goat, rabbits, kittens and chickens. Open floor plan with cathedral ceiling, rustic farm decor, fire pole, and sliding barn doors. Full kitchen, whirlpool tub and separate rain shower, laundry. Stone patio with fire pit for s’mores! 2 bedrooms, also a sleeper sofa, and we have air mattresses if you need them. We provide coffee and fresh free range eggs when the chickens are laying.

Loft is heated in the winter but there is NO A/C. There are 3 huge ceiling fans to keep air moving and stand fans as well. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS.

Our property host replied to any questions almost immediately; the home was immaculate and the kitchen had everything needed for our limited stay. Whether visiting New Glarus or nearby areas, this charming little home is worth checking out!!!! Just one full bath but there’s a toilet in the downstairs, unfinished basement with full laundry utilities!!!!! Exactly what we needed! Going home after a long race without dirty, smelly laundry is priceless!!! 😁"

This home is situated on 40 acres with beautiful views of rolling hills and sunsets. The house features an open concept with vaulted ceilings in family room and living room. It has a large deck with entry from the family room, sun room and master bedroom. The spacious master bedroom has an attached bathroom with walk in tile shower, double vanities and a soaking tub. The sun room and living room both offer additional sleeping areas with a slide out full size couch and futon. The house has a convenient first floor laundry and a 3 car garage. The home has new furniture as of 2019, including beds and is very clean and comfortable. Third bathroom with shower is available in unfinished walk out basement.

It is next door to an apple orchard that is open in the Fall with fresh apples and bakery. It is conveniently located in the southwest corner of Dane County, near historic New Glarus, Mount Horeb, Mineral Point, Madison, Blue Mounds, Tyrol Ski basin, Yellowstone and Governor Dodge State Parks.

We are renting the Lower level of our personal residence. The lower level is equipped with a microwave, stocked mini-fridge (complimentary beverages), stocked Keurig (complimentary coffee), 1 bedroom (Queen bed), living area and bathroom. Renters will have access to the outdoor pool (in season), outdoor hot tub, fire pit, patio with table and chairs. Location is close to downtown New Glarus ( 2 miles), the New Glarus Brewery (<1mile) New Glarus Woods state park/bike path (<1 mile) and Baileys Run Winery (4 miles). Madison/Verona is only a 20-25 minute drive. Monroe is a 20 minute drive south.
We have a friendly dog that reside on the property.

Welcome to Dalsoren House!

Located in Wisconsin's Driftless Area on 240 acres of conserved prairie and woodlands, Dalsoren House offers a tranquility you will not find anywhere else. As a guest of Dalsoren House, you will be able to explore and enjoy restored grassland prairies, oak savannas, a pine relic, and a Class I-II DNR Trout Stream (Gordon Creek)- all without leaving the property! You can observe a wide variety of native species including red-headed and pileated woodpeckers, sandhill cranes, badgers, bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, rusty patched bumble bees, hill thistles, compass plants, and much, much more. After a day of exploring, you can relax around the firepit (we supply all the split firewood you need!) to the sounds of the spring peepers while watching a beautiful sunset. Once the sun has set, the rural night sky offers wonderful stargazing opportunities away from city lights.

We have mowed paths around the farm for you to explore nature. We do recommend you bring hiking boots/shoes, rain jackets, hiking pants, insect repellent, and sunscreen so you can enjoy the great outdoors comfortably. Conservation efforts on the farm are ongoing, and we partner with local, state, and federal organizations to carefully plan efforts from prescribed burns to native plantings. Let us know if you have any questions about the conservation work being done.

Dalsoren House was built in 1975 by Mary and Steve Thompson when they returned to the family farm to take over the dairy operations from Steve's parents. Mary and Steve used the barn as inspiration for the design of Dalsoren. They harvested the lumber from the farm, employed all local contractors, and did a lot of the work themselves. They incorporated a variety of unique features - such as stained glass - to create a truly one-of-a-kind home for their family. In 2020, the Thompsons did a complete restoration of Dalsoren House - again, using timber sustainably harvested from the farm and employing local contractors. The restoration was carefully planned to keep the original character of the house. The Thompson family (including a very friendly Labrador named Ole) still lives on the property today in the family farmhouse (built in 1901).

As of 2021, Dalsoren House has a new kitchen, bathroom, roof, windows, and sidings, as well as new furnishings and appliances. Dalsoren House can sleep 4-6 people comfortably. There are two bedrooms (1 queen bed and 2 twin beds) as well as 2 twin roll-away beds.

- Heating and Air Conditioning: The house has central heating for cool days in the early spring and fall. For those warmer summer days, each bedroom has an air conditioning unit. There are powerful ceiling fans throughout the house as well.

- Accessibility: There is a poured cement sidewalk to the house. There are three steps up to the front porch - the porch has railings. The house is a loft-style with two bedrooms on the second floor. The ground floor has a bathroom with an accessible shower, rollaway twin beds, living room/great room, and kitchen. Please contact us for more information.

My place is close to parks, restaurants, the city center and arts and culture. You'll love my place because of the neighborhood. The city of Verona is a fast growing community with lots of brand new homes. My place is located in one of the newer communities. My place is good for couples, business travelers, families and groups. We are located approximately 20 minutes from Madison and approximately 5 minutes from Epic. The apartment comes fully equipped with modern appliances and cozy beds. A washer and dryer is available for your use, however, we do not supply detergents.

- "This house is literally in the middle of New Glarus. It is well appointed and extremely comfortable. We needed to get away and this was the place. It is right next door to an excellent restaurant, but had we decided to cook in, all the necessary items were there. The beds were very comfortable. There are hardwood floors on the main level and brand new carpeting upstairs. There is room for one car in the garage and two outdoor spaces. We will definitely stay there again. "
