Things to Know
A wood stove and two mini-split units provide heating and cooling. Wood is not provided.
You will need to park on the first level of the driveway and no higher. You will then walk a short distance up to the cabin. Boat trailers should not be brought to the cabin as there is no place to turn around or park. Boat trailers can be parked at the Garfield Bay Public Park.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Neighborhood:

In the summer months we provide bikes, paddle boards and kayaks.

There is a private dock to keep your boat on premises, as well as a boat launch near by. For those who don’t have a boat, there are boat & jet skiing rentals nearby, as well. If adventure is your middle name, then there are tons of activities you will enjoy! Hiking trails, water-skiing, wake-boarding and mountain biking are at the heart of this beautiful town in the summer/fall months. In the winter/spring months you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing up on Schweitzer Mountain Resort. All year around, you may enjoy the deer and elk as they gracefully walk just feet from our windows. The property has beautiful mountain and lake views but please note the lake is low and unusable during the winter months from November through May.

🚣 During lake season, put your 1 boat in at the Sandpoint Marina (smaller boat, outboard motor only) and tie up at our private dock for your stay. Only one boat permitted per booking. Sandpoint is 8 minutes by boat. Stay to the right when entering the inlet and stay to your left when leaving the inlet, to avoid underwater obstacles. Trim your motor. Depending on the size of your boat, you may need to use rope guides to turn around when leaving the dock.

Welcome to your one-of-a-kind, private lakefront retreat! This newer lake house was built in 2016 and will show you what north Idaho has to offer! Located on the sunny side of Bottle Bay, enjoy a private dock with views of Schweitzer mountain. Take in amazing Lake Pend Oreille with floor-to-ceiling windows. Bask in the sun on the large deck or from the private dock. The property is conveniently located across from Bottle Bay Marina, which offers dining, boat/kayak rentals, gas, and a boat launch. The beautiful, lively town of Sandpoint is close by (25 minutes by car or 15 by boat). Also, check out the many restaurants on Lake Pend Oreille's shores!

This house has unique features throughout. The custom kitchen table, bathroom countertops, and fireplace mantle were hand-crafted out of trees from the property that were removed for the build. Knotty alder and pine finishes will make you feel right at home in north Idaho! Enjoy a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with well-stocked wood storage, an open timber staircase leading to a large loft, and a room of built-in bunk beds that will wow you!

The house offers plenty of space for a large group or will cozily accommodate a smaller group as well. The house sleeps 10 in beds, with an optional air bed if needed. The maximum occupancy is 10 people. Bedrooms include:

This is a great place to practice social distancing – it is very private!

This cute, cozy waterfront vacation home features a private dock, sand beach and grass areas by water’s edge. Spread out on 200 feet of Lake Frontage and relax. The crystal clear water of Lake Pend Oreille is great for swimming and boating. The fire pit, picnic table and beach chairs make it the perfect place to hang out all day and evening.

There’s also a large outdoor deck on front of cabin facing the water – enjoy the sunrises over the water and mountains with the southeastern exposure of this home.

The cozy cabin is our second home and it is very comfortable for one or two families. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that can sleep up to 7-8. There is also a queen-sized futon downstairs that can sleep two.

The big living room and dining area (table expands to seat 10) are roomy and comfortable. The laundry room is good sized and right inside back door. The kitchen is small, but has all appliances (fridge, dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, compactor, coffee maker, and lots of dishes, pots and pans).

The cabin is a great place to relax, unwind, and have fun. It works great for one or two families on vacation at the lake!

Leave the city, come breathe some fresh air and relax with the majestic cedar trees!

I have a nicely decorated, clean one bedroom cabin (550 sq ft) in 12 acres of forest far away from the hustle of modern life. Come to hike, walk, swim, read, write or just watch the stunning pine trees.

A queen bed in a small bedroom, sleeper sofa and small loft with a queen mattress are available for two people to choose their sleeping spot. There are ample cotton linens, necessary kitchen amenities, dishes, wine and martini glasses, etc. and a washer and dryer.

Unplug from it all and relax in the peace of your own forest. I live up the hill from the cabin; however, the privacy of the forest hides my home. No neighbors can be seen from the cabin and my Whispering Pines Forest is pristine.

Watch the deer and turkeys walk by, play a game of horseshoes and use the old fashioned outhouse. Don't worry the cabin has plumbing, hot water, a toilet and shower/tub! (It is a small bathroom with a low ceiling.)

There is no T.V phone or internet and the cell reception is spotty. You can walk up the short, dirt road to get cell reception and then log into my internet, if desired.

Unwind with a good book, build a puzzle and take a contemplative walk in the forest or nearby trail, about 5 minutes walk from the cabin.

There is easy, ample parking in front of the cabin with lots of room for your toys (boat, ATVs’, etc.). Bring your saw and fall a dying tree, if you like! Afterwards light a campfire in front of the cabin to relax.

More action oriented, head three miles down to Lake Pend Oreille at Talache Landing for a swim or to launch your canoe or kayak. Mirror Lake, a small lake, is also about two miles away for swimming and rentals of small boats or old paddle boats for $30-45 a day. Bottle Bay is a nice swimming beach with a little restaurant too.

Head into Sandpoint for restaurants, a beach walk and swimming, parasailing, small plane sightseeing, lake cruise, horseback riding, boat and bike rentals and nearby hiking and surrounding area.

*The neighborhood is mainly doublewide homes with working class folk. The surplus of dogs can occasionally bark. A neighbor runs a generator for his power (grr!!), so you can hear a low hum when outside the cabin if you are attempting to sit in silence. If you are talking and moving around you will not hear the generator.

There is a convenience store and gas station (Conoco) and Dollar Store (with some groceries) 20 minutes or so from the cabin at Sagle Road and the 95. The grocery stores are in Sandpoint, another 10 minutes north. There is a Super One in Athol 45 minutes south of Sagle right off the 95 on your way up, if you’re coming from the south.

**NOTE: Each year, on September 18th OR the 3rd Sunday in September (whichever is later),the Army Corps of Engineers begins dropping the water level of Lake Pend Oreille until ultimately reducing it by a total of 10-12 feet. Around the 4th week in September ALL boat docks and boat lifts on the lake become inaccessible and unusable, as the water completely recedes back from the shoreline leaving just bare ground beneath the docks. The agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers states the lake level must be restored to full pool level each year no later than July 4th, however, the last 10+ years the lake water has been at full pool level around the 2nd or 3rd week in June.

Enjoy the beauty of northern Idaho right out your door. During the summer you will have a private waterfront area on Comeback Bay with easy access to Lake Pend Orielle. There are canoes available for your use or you can bring your own kayaks, paddleboards or other water toys. From mid-September through the end of May, the water level is lowered limiting water access as the bay becomes a creek during this time.

You will also have a newly built fire pit with chairs, picnic table, and grill for your enjoyment. Firewood is available for purchase if you would like to enjoy a campfire. You will also have access to a forested area with walking trails just across the road.

Just ten minutes to downtown Sandpoint, twenty-five minutes to Silverwood, and thirty minutes to Schweitzer (fifteen minutes to the Schweitzer shuttle parking lot) puts all of the area’s attractions within easy reach by car. Biking to Sandpoint’s shops and restaurants is a breeze too on the paved path across the long bridge easily accessible from our property. Even Spokane, Coeur D’Alene, and the Canadian Border are within an hour and twenty minutes from the property. Countless beautiful mountain lakes and hikes can be found in the multiple surrounding mountain ranges.

In the winter, Enjoy the snow sports at North Idaho’s destination ski resort Schweitzer Mountain! The Schweitzer Mountain Village/Ski Resort is a short 30 minute drive from the loft. There are ample areas for snow shoeing and cross-country skiing all around. Bring your snow mobiles and other snow toys and take advantage of the endless opportunities. Our location is a faster and easier drive to town for the fantastic restaurants and nightlife without braving the steep and winding road up and down Schweitzer Mountain.

Families love our large open house right on the water on Lake Pend Oreille. Hang out on the dock, bring your boat or jet skis or rent nearby. Concerts, hiking, huckleberry picking. Our guests often tell us one week isn't long enough to experience all there is to see and do.

Fall and winter are also secret gems in North Idaho -- skiing, snowshoeing, curling up with a puzzle, game or good book is so much more fun with a dusting of snow outside, crisp air, and our mountain views.

Swim, boat, hike, bike - everything is accessible from our Bottle Bay getaway.

Venturing farther afield are day trips to Priest Lake or rafting the Clark Fork or Spokane rivers, hiking in the Cabinet or Selkirk Mountains, antique markets, hot springs, wineries, and a variety of summer specialty fairs. We are about an hour from Coeur d'Alene, 90 minutes from Spokane International Airport.

Nearby hiking and mountain biking trails include Gold Hill, Mineral Ridge, Pine St. Woods, and Schweitzer.

While the town of Sandpoint is relatively small, the variety of restaurants is sure to provide enough choices for discerning palates. Boat to a waterfront restaurant in minutes, jet ski to town to visit the twice-weekly farmer's market or shop. We have a book full of our favorite places to go to and eat at, and when you are here, you'll agree with many of our guests that a week just isn't enough.

Kitchen, dining area and living room flow together, with all providing view access to a wall of windows facing the water. Make yourself a latte with the super-automatic espresso maker (locally roasted coffee provided) and enjoy a quiet morning on the deck watching waterfowl. It's just a few steps to the dock and the lake, and the neighborhood provides quiet lanes for strolling.
