We shared the bottom half of the home with three other guests. I was impressed on how clean the space was and absolutely loved the decor. Bathroom was spacious. Kitchen had dishes available, coffee maker, toster oven, microwave, mini fridge & table all were in good condition. $10 secure parking was worth it in my opinion as opposed to parking on the street. There wasn't a TV in our room. Listing does say LED TV with cable service as an amenitie. Stayed in room I, on a Saturday. During our stay we had a bit of an issues w the toilet flushing. Reached out management and they responded quickly. They were going to sends someone asap but my hubby was able to fix the issue. Would I stay here again? Nope, wasn't my cup of tea. The other guests would not lock the door behind them when leaving & I would prefer to have my own bathroom. "

- "It was very peaceful and comfortable. Very quiet. I regrettably ended up getting taken away in an ambulance, and all of my stuff practically got abandoned on the front lawn. I was so hurt and incoherent, that I neglected to contact the property, and give some kind of insight into why my things were left behind. I was literally on the brink of death, in need of a blood transfusion. According to the policy, any items left behind are held for up to seven days. I really hope this is true, because I’m still in the hospital since yesterday afternoon, and I would really like to retrieve my only belongings on this planet 😓"

Similar to the majority of homes in the area, our residence does not have air conditioning. However, with the cooler local temperatures, opening the windows allows ocean breezes to naturally cool the space.

We have a professional cleaning service that details and sanitizes the entire 3 bedroom house before and after every guest. We guarantee that it will be immaculately cleaned before you arrive. Sometimes, a Roomba robot sweeps and mobs the house before our guests arrives. Our cleaners also wash all sheets, towels, pillow covers, and blanket covers before and after each guest. Also, we pay living wage (Over 4 times of the minimum wage) to our cleaners who live locally.

Please make sure you follow all the house rules (no party, no pet, no smoking inside, no illegal file downloading, quiet hours, etc). In a rare case that a guest break each rule, a $250 in penalty will be charged. Also, please be clear about the total number of guests when booking this house. If you are trying to host a large group, there will be some additional charges.

- "We booked the "Beachy" unit in this home, but were given the smaller "Peaceful" unit on arrival. That left us with a single bed for four people. Two of us had to sleep on the floor (Pacifica was booked up for an archery event). We contacted the host, and they were willing to cancel the second night, but we were left with the full first night for a more expensive unit and a host fee that was higher than the cost of the room. The host blamed Expedia/Hotels.com for the mistake, but neither is willing to make it right. The space was clean but very tight even for two people. The floor felt damp (possibly from a recent cleaning) and the bathroom was just behind a thin plastic accordion door right next to the bed (not for anyone feeling shy or romantic). We did not have access to any patio or terrace."

Our 2-unit Victorian home was built in 1906. The lower unit is a completely separate 1 bedroom apartment. We’ve done extensive work on the home and land. It is a double sized lot. Half of the land is landscaped with a pond, over 15 varieties of Hawaiian and Polynesian plants and an expansive yard. This is a 2 unit property, we live in 2nd and 3rd level, Halekipa (the guest home) is on the ground floor. This 1 bedroom apartment features Bamboo wood floors, carpet in the bedroom, full-size washer and dryer in unit, updated appliances, queen size bed and pull out couch in living. It can fit 4. There are extra pillows, blankets, sheets and towels for you also. We also have a few things for children (boys and girls sleeping bags and a few games. The home is equipped with High speed WIFI and Cable T.V. (Astound) as well. This property also dubs as the Kaululehua Hawaiian Cultural Center. You’ll notice a dance studio and library on the land as well. Once a week we have classes (dance) and once a month classes on cultural arts/crafts (weaving and lei making). Our home was awarded the Beautification award for South San Francisco in 2011 for the most beautiful Home in South San Francisco!
We are located in downtown South San Francisco (SSF) all restaurants are walking distance (Starbucks, Pete’s, Subway, multiple Chinese and Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese , Korean, Italian, Argentinian, American, Japanese and more). There are a few grocery, liquor and drug stores within a block. Some of our favorite restaurants: For Breakfast – Cable Car Café (nothing fancy, just quick good ole fashioned breakfast), For Lunch - La Morena (best al pastor nachos, tacos and plates), For Dinner - Izanami (great specials, brand new and nice atmosphere. If you’ve never had See’s candy, the factory is down the street you might want to go in for samples ;-)
Everything you could possibly need is within 1 mile (drug stores, department stores, chain restaurants etc..) Most people stay at our place go site seeing. There is 1 car parking designated for our guest. If you don’t drive, the bus is within 1 block, Train (Cal. Train) is 4 blocks, Bart is 10 blocks away. All of these can take you somewhere interesting. Downtown San Francisco is about 15 minutes by car. Besides San Francisco you should make time to explore our coast especially Pacifica and cruise along famous highway 1 to visit downtown Half Moon Bay!

We were a little concerned about the location as we were going to see shows at Oracle Park and weren’t sure how far out of the “downtown” we were, but it turned out just right !!! We were able To take an Uber or the Cal Train very easily into downtown SF! The neighborhood is so cute and has lots of dining options within walking distance. A “bodega” , a great sandwich shop, liquor store, cafe for breakfast , options for dinner, really covers it all. If you want more elegant dining in the city it’s not too far at all. The apt is terrific. We had 2 adults for a few days and 3 for one night. We were all able to have our own bed ! One in the bedroom which has the picket doors for privacy, one on the sleeper sofa ( which is a bit short. So we put the sleep mat on top and it worked out perfectly ) the other had the air bed which was conveniently stored in the closet. ) We slept comfortably and then deflated the air bed and had plenty of room to eat at the dining table, make coffee, etc. It’s a very well appointed space with really everything you need. Coffee maker , French press, full size fridge, stover. Really awesome. The outside garden is lovely !!! You have full access to the whole space. Sit at the table, or on the love seat w your feet up, enjoy your coffee or cocktails. It was a really nice bonus to have outdoor space to enjoy. Very clean and the hosts were WONDERFUL !"

Our guest house offers an open floor concept with living room space and kitchenette for light cooking. This is a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom guest house. The bedroom has a queen size bed and a pull out couch is located in the living room that sleeps 1 person ( equivalent to a full size bed). The bathroom offers different fan and heat setting. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash is provided.

The guest house also includes a dining table that sits 4 people comfortably. The kitchenette includes utensils, plates, bowls, air fryer/toaster, and an electric portable induction burner for light cooking.

There is one dedicated parking spot on the driveway outside for the guest. There are plenty of all day free street parking.

Guest access
The guest house is attached to the main house. There is a family that lives in the main house. The guest house has its own private entrance (separate from the main house). The backyard is shared space with the main house. The family is very nice and respectful of the guest privacy. The family asks that guest are also respectful of the shared space and limit loud noises during quiet hours 9PM to 7AM.

Other things to note
Washer and dryer is NOT included in the guest house. There are close by laundry mats within a 10 min drive. We can also recommend pickup and delivery laundry services if needed.

The guest house is attached to the main house but there is no shared space inside the house. The only shared space will be in the backyard, outside walking areas and driveway. The family that lives in the main house are very nice and quiet individuals. Please be respectful of the shared space and note that this is NOT a place for parties or gatherings.
