- "Great location for a large group. There are 4 cabins available on this property. Our group rented Serenity, Haven, & Paradise. I stayed in the Paradise cabin which has the best view of the lake. Some nearby places to go/things to do that I recommend: St. Mary's Distillery in Cashton, Titanic Canoe Rental in Ontario, Murray's on Main for dinner in Tomah. The cabin was comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Molter's grocery store is less than 10 min away."

Welcome to Dorset Valley where we have year round amenities to enjoy. From the beautiful Fall colors to riding your bike or running on The Sparta Elroy bike trail. The Monroe County snowmobile trail runs right through the property. We are just a 10 min drive to Tomah, WI and 15min to Cranberry Country in Warrens, Wi. Only a 45 minute drive to Wisconsin’s Dells. Visit Viroqua, WI for the best trout fishing and fly fishing or Ontario to go canoeing on the Kickapoo River. Horseback riding, deer hunting, turkey hunting are all in the nearby area.
The holidays are beautiful in our peaceful old country home setting.
The house is large enough for everyone to stay and spend time together for a long weekend or the whole week.
You can rent by the room if you have a smaller group.
Stop by Dorset Valley Schoolhouse Restaurant, just a couple steps away, for a hot, home cooked meal or some homemade pies. Our Fish Fry on Friday and Prime Rib dinner on Saturday can’t be beat.

- "We would highly recommend this property to anyone who loves country living like we do. We were greeted by Rick the property manager who spoiled us with a welcome basket of fresh baked breads, fresh raspberry jam and fresh eggs. And, he had some meade moonshine waiting for us upon our arrival. We loved that every bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen was awesome with a huge dining table also for card and board games after our days out on the trail. Having the old schoolhouse restaurant right next door was heavenly. The food was delicious and home-cooked. The restaurant closes at 2pm on Sunday and weekdays. Since we were expected to be back much later in the day from riding, Rick and his crew one day made us BBQ ribs and cheesy tater casserole that they delivered to us upon our arrival back to the house. It was very handy that we had 2 ovens in the kitchen to warm up our food! The scenery in the area consists of beautiful rolling hills and the weather was very nice. This house is in the heart of Amish country so be prepared to see lots of horses and buggies which we loved. Most roads and highways in Monroe County are ATV/UTV friendly and if you prefer riding trails instead, there are several up by Black River Falls which is close enough to get to from the house. There are lots of bar & grill places and we also found an Amish cheese store and more! We would definitely stay again!"

The Space is located in the front of the house and has 3 steps up to a deck to enter the home. Once inside you will find a place to hang up your coats and hats. Off of the living room to your left is the Master King Bedroom, next in line clock wise is the Full Size Bedroom followed by the Bathroom and Kitchen. Plenty of natural light, comfortable beds and chairs and fun decor!

Escape to this serene house in picturesque Tomah. This phenomenal property boasts 4 bedrooms, including 2 queen beds and 2 full beds, perfect for a group getaway. With 2 bathrooms equipped with showers, guests can relax and unwind in this gorgeous retreat surrounded by woods. Enjoy all that Tomah has to offer when you stay at our place.
- "Nice and easy spot to stay if you’re going to La Crosse for a show. House was spacious and done very nicely. Thanks for letting me stay for the night!" - "The home was very conveniently located near the interstate. The owner has obviously made several updates and the things that have been redone are nice. It was clean, although there was trash in all of the trash cans when we arrived. It is important to note that the bathroom in the lower level has a ceiling that is just over 6 feet high. The ceiling in the shower is even lower. One of the bedrooms has a doorway that is not even 6’ tall, which means that anyone close to 6’ tall has to bend down while in the bathroom and duck walking into the room to avoid hitting their head. This is inconvenient and hazardous. It seems as though the owner is still finishing the renovations. One of the ceilings was just dry walled and not painted, one bedroom didn’t have power to the outlets and one bedroom didn’t have any window covering on the front window. Outside of the extremely low ceilings, the other things can be rectified fairly easily. For us, the combination made for a less than awesome experience. "

Designed for the hard working traveller! With dedicated office space including desk, printer and business speed wifi! Work hard in peace & comfort. Unwind with a glass of wine and a book in the plush living room or lux hot tub! Robes & Flip flops provided! Up 2 flights of outdoor stairs (24 total) so keep that in mind. The Kilbourn house has 3 apartments in it all available for short term rentals. Come relax with us!

This unit uses radiant heat and baseboard heat..guests have full control over heat settings in the kitchen, bedrooms and living room. Because it is an older home there may be some cooler rooms such as the bathroom...I have provided a Thermal Space Heater for this space! Plenty of blankets and extra bedding provided as well!
Some sound may carry thru the floors and walls in each unit so be mindful of tv volume and noise.
All units have access to the Hot Tub during their stay so kindly keep your tub time under a couple hours so others can use it too! Thank you for choosing the Kilbourn House!

- "Everything was super easy and made for a very relaxing stay." - " Very impressive apartment. In fact the pictures online don't grasp the real charm of this cozy nook. I see myself staying here in the future because its warm, inviting, functional and located nicely to stores and such. However; As an outdoorsman; the need to hang damp clothing to dry is vital but the apartment lacks hooks and pegs on the walls.(outside & especially inside)There is ample wall space to make the improvements without negatively impacting maneuverability. A ceiling fan in the kitchen or living room would also help with outdoor gear/clothing/equipment & cooking with the stove. I like to cook and this kitchen setup made me so happy i ate like a king. Ability to do laundry on site is terrific. I like this place and the customer service representative, Jamie. I thank you all at "Patriot" for helping me have a great week. Bravo!"

The only reason I gave a 4 star rating of the check-in service, was that when we arrived and entered the apartment, it had not been cleaned. Managed to get ahold of Chris and was immediately assigned another apartment. Enjoyed the rest of our stay!!!" - "I would definitely stay at this property again. Take it easy at this unique getaway on a horse farm. Guests can wander the property & say hi to horses across the fence and gates. This is Apartment 5 on the backside of a 5-plex apartment building with a separate entrance. The entrance is on the southwest corner of the building which is to the right from the parking area. This is a two-level apartment. Upon entry you will see the dining area with the full kitchen beyond and the bathroom to the right. Directly ahead will be stairs that take you up to the second-floor bedroom and sitting area which has a double bed and lots of closet space. There is a Smart TV on both the ground level and also on the 2nd level in the bedroom. Laundry facilities are available on site in the basement via a separate entrance.

Laundry facilities are in the basement, which is accessed from a separate outside entrance on the Southeast corner. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers which are shared by all the tenants in the building. A parking area is available on the west side of the building off the alley, but street parking is also available. For longer stays, garbage pickup is Monday morning so please push the bin to the alley Sunday night for pickup if you can. The garbage bin is outside the entrance to the apartment and is labeled "5".

The space
You have access to the entire house during your stay. The main area of the house is an open concept living/kitchen area with an eat-in island. There are two doors that lead off of the living room area bringing you onto the full deck. The first bedroom has a king bed and TV with Roku. There is a main bath with tub across the hall from the first bedroom. The second bedroom is at the end of the hallway and is a full suite. It contains a queen bed, queen sleeper sofa, twin bed, and full bath with a stand-in, glass surround shower. This room also has a smart TV, making it a great secondary "hang out" space in the house!
The outside of the property is great for relaxing. We have a deck with a great view of the lake, a hot tub, a gas grill, and a firepit (we do not supply firewood). Come ready to have a great outdoor experience.
Pet Lovers - while we are a pet friendly home we DO NOT allow pets on the furniture. Pet hair on beds / couches or failure to pick up pet waste will result in an additional $115 fee.
Please note that the dock is removed the week of October 16th.

It is important to note that Tomah Lake is considered a boating, fishing, and water sports lake. There is an ordinance which prohibits "swimming" when not a part of active water sport activities. There is a full outdoor aquatic center within a five minute drive that is open to the public for daily passes and also the Three Bears Resort 15 minutes to the north which has an indoor/outdoor water park and day passes available for guests.
Pet Lovers - while we are a pet friendly home we DO NOT allow pets on the furniture. Pet hair on beds / couches or failure to pick up pet waste will result in an additional $100 fee.
