Our lodge retreat is located right on the lake and is fully furnished with plenty of space and amenities for everyone. There are plenty of activities on-site and within a short distance of the Retreat House. Conveniently close to downtown Waupaca but has the camping experience you need to getaway.

There are three large common rooms throughout the house that have available seating for your whole group with a great view of Shadow Lake seen clearly through large windows.

Outdoor seating and chairs are also at the Retreat House for you to use throughout your stay; with options to relax in the sun or the shade. Go out on the lake with your favorite watercraft to soak up the sun.

Enjoy the pool table, dartboard, movies and other indoor games on a rainy day. Make dinner on the grill, over a fire, use the kitchen or even walk over to one of Bethany’s restaurants to pick up some food. Downtown also has a variety of unique dining choices for you to try out. The Retreat House has everything you’ll need to truly unwind.

Bethany’s Retreat House is located right on Shadow Lake, which is a prime location to see Waupaca’s annual 4th of July fireworks.

The house is close to a city park which has a playground, picnic area, two shelters, bath house, fishing pier, boat launch, and museum. The sandy swimming beach has a raft, slide and diving board. Lifeguards are on duty Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Close to the Retreat House is Bethany’s Crystal River Walking Trail with rest stops and boardwalks that extend to oversee the Crystal River.

Welcome to our 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath Chain O' Lakes vacation rental. We want you to feel as relaxed as we do staying at our waterfront home. With enough beds to sleep 10 people, this is a great location for family vacations, retreats, or reunions (there is room for additional air mattresses). The open concept kitchen and living room connects to a beautiful covered deck. Enjoy the views from the deck, take out the two kayaks for a relaxing paddle, or enjoy a starry night roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and cookware (see below for listing of kitchen amenities).

-Lime Kiln Lake: No need to worry about the children swimming as this is a no wake lake. --The back yard leading up to the lake has plenty of flat space for yard games (bags, washers, and bocce ball provided).
-Short boat ride to Columbia and Round Lake (both wake lakes for water sports).
-Half mile walk to Casino, Wheelhouse, or Scoopers.
-Great location for morning walks on low traffic roads.

Please note that during the peak season rentals are weekly, or 7 nights. We will not be able to do long weekends. The rental is from Friday to Friday with check-in at 3 pm and check-out at 10 am. The pricing is detailed out in the rates sections. Please read it to get more information.

Bath and swim towels are NOT provided, please bring your own. Hand towels and kitchen towels will be provided. Board games and ping pong are provided for rainy afternoons. Roku will provide you with many options on the 65 inch television.

Stratton Lake is a full recreation lake surrounded by tall pines. Stay at this gorgeous, spacious, log cabin home on Waupaca's beautiful Chain O' Lakes! Located on the northeast shore of Sunset Lake, you will enjoy the peace of a no-wake lake, yet you have easy access to a fast lake located adjacent to Sunset. With breathtaking views, hard sandy frontage perfect for swimming, and plenty of room for multiple families, you will enjoy the comfort of this well kept home. 2 kayaks, one paddle board, and one Maui Mat are included with rental. Pontoon boat on-site available for rent. 7 night minimum required during summer months (June-August) with Sunday to Sunday rental. Slightly higher rates apply for holiday weeks. 2 night minimum rest of season. Cleaning fee and a security deposit are required.

The twin beds were a bit short and small for our tall teens but they still slept well. The house is close to a neighbor on the right side of the house but thankfully they were quiet & it wasn't an issue. Mandy and Shaun were very responsive and easy to work with! The Waupaca Chain O' Lakes is a premier Wisconsin vacation spot, known for it's crystal clear connected spring-fed lakes and fun family atmosphere. Reese's Retreat, named 50 years ago when our parents bought the property, is located on Beasley lake, the last lake on the fun-loving, water-sport mecca of the lower chain, connecting via Beasley Creek to the peaceful nature sanctuary of the upper chain.

Sit on the wrap-around deck and watch the world go by. Enjoy fishing/swimming off the dock to our private swim raft not far offshore, or my favorite: float with a cool drink and catch up with those you love. No worries about the kids in kayaks or floats: Beasley is a safe, no-wake lake. The middle of our lake is a favorite for swimmers, as is the sandy shore at the end of adjoining long lake where all ages float, put chairs in the shallow water to talk, throw balls, play or just generally splash around. 2 kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, a rowboat, floaties of every description and a canoe are included with the rental. Pack a cooler and tour the lakes, tie up at Clear Water Harbor for live music and eats, or park on a sandbar in style.

Our large lakeside yard is surrounded by beautiful plantings, which create a private space for your group to play volleyball, Frisbee, or have an after-dark campfire.

The main level's open floor plan allows the great room with it's wood burning fireplace to flow into the kitchen so no one is left out. A connected 3-season porch offers outdoor eating without hassle or mosquitoes. Lots of seating and a gas grill steps away on the deck make things easy. After dinner it's a short walk to Tom Thumb's mini-golf, then a s'more-making, story-telling session around the fire pit. Or you can choose to do nothing but sit on the deck, listen to the frogs and watch for shooting stars.

Our family purchased the property in the early 1960's, and replaced the original cottage with this large house in 2005 to accommodate our growing brood. We designed the walk-out level to be quite separate. It consists of a big screen entertainment center, huge leather couch with built-in recliners, 2 bedrooms which sleep 4, a bathroom, wet bar with fridge, and the laundry room. If your family is like ours, you have early birds, but you also have night-owls who like to watch movies, eat chips and make lots of noise into the night. No problem. This arrangement keeps everyone happy.

On rainy days, you can watch movies or play games in front of the fire, or explore the authentic late 1800's main street with shops, restaurants and even The Rosa, an old-time movie theater playing films suitable for all ages.

On sunny days, the Chief Waupaca stern wheeler or Lady of the Lakes motor yacht out of Clear Water Harbor Marina offer narrated cruises while beautiful scenery goes by. The hardy among you can take the famous crystal river trip from nearby Ding's Dock. Offering both tubing and canoe options, it can be rough-and-tumble, but great fun indeed! Or just stay close to home for a kayak trip to the upper chain or a swim off the dock.

Your ideal vacation starts with ample parking for 6 vehicles right out front of the home! Enter through the sunroom and take a load off while taking in the beautiful views of the lake. Observe the open concept as you enter the home and look out the sliding doors to the lake. Sit on the sofa and take in the natural beauty of the property! Trees on the property keep our home private while still allowing picturesque views of the water! The kitchen is stocked up with pots, pans, plates, silverware and cups. There is a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and coffee maker. The master is on the main floor and has an attached full bathroom. The master has one queen bed and a desk.
The 2nd bedroom is also on the main floor with one queen bed and one full bed. There is also one more full bath on the main level. Upstairs find two additional bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom has one queen bed and a twin bed. There is also space in this room for an air mattress or a pack and play. The 4th bedroom has two queen beds and many windows as well. There is a third full bathroom on the second floor between the two bedrooms. Downstairs on the basement walkout level you will find a bar area with plenty of stools along with a high top table to hang out at. The basement also has a pool table for your enjoyment. There is a half bathroom on this level along with a washing machine, dryer and additional refrigerator. Walk down to the waterfront from the deck or the lower level. The deck offers additional seating along with a charcoal grill. The lower walkout also has a picnic table for even more seating! The shed offers plenty of inflatables to enjoy on the water and additional chairs for lounging. There is a firepit for hanging out in the evening and roasting marshmallows. Enter the lake through the gradual walkout or take a plunge off the end of the dock into 8ft of beautiful spring fed water! Calm Waters is definitely a gem on Limekiln Lake. We are a no wake lake so no worries about jet skis and boats speeding by while the children (or you) are swimming. However, when you want to go to a recreational lake and enjoy water sports we have two recreational lakes just around the corner from the home! We have 4 kayaks, a stand up paddle board and paddle boat for your enjoyment! There is also a pontoon boat available for rent. Please contact us for information if interested.

Hartman Creek State Park (2.4 miles away) offers biking, hiking and snowshoeing. Standing Rock Red and Blue Mountain Bike Loop is 5.7 miles away and is accessible all year with biking, hiking and cross country skiing. Nordic Mountain Ski Area is 24 miles away and offers skiing, snowboarding, tubing and free mountain biking. Calm Waters is about 2 hours away from Milwaukee and Madison and about 3.5 hours away from Chicago!

The whole place feels like it's way up north with those towering white pines." - "Our family of 4 stayed here as a last hurrah for summer vacation. Our kids are 8 and 12. The kids loved paddle boarding, fishing, swimming and wading in the shallow clear water on the sandy shoreline. My husband and I enjoyed the tranquility of the lake overall. There are specific hours on the lake where tubing/skiing are allowed, so all other times the lake was calm. We caught panfish, perch and a couple bass. Having central air to retreat to was fantastic. The house is equipped with anything you need to cook or grill. It is truly a gem of a property. The only downside was that the bunk bed was really creaky with any movement, so we pulled the pullout bed on the couch and they slept there. Not a huge deal. We loved the property overall. Plenty of Bluegills & Crappies to cast a line for. There is a state fish hatchery 4 miles down the road. Tours of the chain of lakes on the Chief Waupaca. Take a drive thru the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King or spend the day at Strawberry fest in downtown Waupaca. We are located in some of the best deer hunting in the state. Our house has brand new appliances including washer and dryer and WiFi. A canoe and paddle boat are included along with a gas fire pit and a wood fire pit for your relaxation.

The 22 spring fed lakes are a mix of full recreation and slow no wake lakes where you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, tubing, skiing, fishing or a day of fun in the sun. A great space for your family, couples, or friends. Fall in love with the original hardwood floors and arched doorways. A front and back porch for game playing or relaxing with a book. A plush queen bed in the main bedroom, twin over full memory foam bunk bed down the hallway or the twin daybed with trundle located in the entryway room will accommodate for flexible sleeping arrangements. The living room has a comfortable L shaped couch as well as an oversized chair. Enjoy watching your favorite shows when you log into your apps on the 55 inch ROKU TV. The bathroom has a wonderful rain shower. The charming galley kitchen is supplied with all the cookware and appliances for your needs during your stay. There is a 4 person dining area off of the kitchen, but if you need more space our dining room opens up to a enclosed porch with a pub table that accommodates 4. Enjoy grilling out during the day and campfires at night. There are two kayaks available for use that can be dropped in 0.1 miles from our cottage or stop at Adventure Outfitters water sport rental for more options. Kayak the Upper Chain, Crystal River, or Waupaca River, with option of local tour guides. Feel like exploring Waupaca? Check out downtown shops, dining and historic sites.
The driveway accommodates two cars. Have a boat? No worries, we can arrange parking in our back yard area upon requests. Note: host may ask for ID verification for compliance.

- "A great location right in the heart of King. We had a coffee shop, restaurants, bars, boutiques and shops, plus the lake, harbor and all sorts of other attractions right out the front or back door. The space was comfortable for our group of four adult family members. The backyard is pretty big, with a nice outdoor table and chairs. The home had more than most VRBOs I have stayed at before, like lots of kitchen supplies and linens. The host was really nice and gave us a couple of group specific recommendations that were lovely! Highly recommend this spot!"

Summary:
Part of The Elsewhere Collection, our rustic log cabin is a restored 100-year old space sitting on peaceful Miner Lake. With room to sleep up to 4-6 adults, the cabin is ideal for a cozy getaway. The cabin features an equipped kitchen, two TVs, WIFI and a window AC unit in the main bedroom. The bathroom has all of the essentials for washing off a day on the lake. Steps from the cabin is a wooden deck, outdoor furniture & two docks with direct access to the lake.

Other Things to Note:
THE WATER: The cabin utilizes well water, so we supply Culligan water for drinking and cooking. Due to the iron content in the well, the shower, faucet and toilet water can turn an orange hue (we promise they’ve been cleaned & scrubbed :) ). We recommend running the water before use and holding down the toilet handle for a little bit when flushing.

TVs: these are just for movies or streaming with Google Chromecast, no cable.

COVID-19: In light of the COVID-19 outbreaks & local orders, we will continue to monitor the restrictions and guidelines in our area & follow recommendations from the CDC, Airbnb and local authorities. This includes recommendations for refunds & cancellations should bookings fall under restrictions leading up to the time of check in.
