Our duplex home is in a residential neighborhood - minutes from downtown, the Pearl District, and Portland's old-school Nob Hill. Our location is a perfect launching pad for all that Portland offers: great restaurants, our famous food truck scene, and the Pacific Northwest outdoors.

Our rental is in a duplex next door to full-time residents in a quiet residential neighborhood- just a few miles from the city center. Easy access to the mountains or beach - only 90 minutes in either direction.

Recently the home was updated from top to bottom with our future guests in mind. We are set up to provide a great night’s sleep. We have super comfy mattresses, high-count cotton sheets, fluffy down comforters, and pillows. Each bathroom is stocked with thick cotton towels, soaps, and shampoo. Take a long shower or soak in the tub - you have access to both!
Here for work, we have a nice workspace set up in the primary bedroom with task lighting and a large desk. Or you can spread out in the dining room. High-speed internet is available throughout the home.
If you need to do a load of laundry, we have a washer and dryer on site and plenty of soap. A small iron and ironing board are also on-site to freshen up your packed clothes.
Our home is a great place to connect with your local family and feel like part of the community. We are located near Portland's prestigious St Vincent’s Hospital and the home is a perfect place to support a loved one - just a short drive or walk away.

This is not a party house or a place for large gatherings. We are respectful of our full-time residents and have quiet hours in place from 10 pm - 7 am. Ring camera enforced.

Located within walking distance to downtown Portland and convenient to the Pearl district, this romantic private suite is appointed with all of the luxuries found in a fine hotel. There is also a communal deck with mountain and river views available for your use when the weather permits.
A queen sized bed in the main bedroom sleeps two but there is also another queen sized sofa bed in another room along with all the bedding needed. A small kitchenette and a sitting room with a counter for your electronics serves as a breakfast table. Sunny Stanhope Cottage is a sunny, spacious 120 year old Dutch Colonial Duplex in the beautiful, peaceful, historic Portland Heights neighborhood overlooking downtown Portland.

We are located in a quiet historic neighborhood, surrounded by nature, with plenty of space to go on walks and bike riding but close to downtown and restaurants. Bunnies, squirrels, chipmunks and deer can be spotted as well as many song birds. With our two outdoor decks and large kitchen and living room it is a perfect place to relax with your family.

The duplex is only 5 minutes (just over a mile) to the shops, restaurants and cafes of the Alphabet District (NW 23rd), downtown and Pearl. Close to OHSU and PSU. The 1400 square foot lower duplex is available year round for stays up to 5 weeks and features an open floor plan, two decks with site views up to Council Crest, southern exposure for sun all day long, two bedrooms with queen beds, a fold down couch bed for one more person in the living room, a beautiful dinning room for 8 people, a fully equipped kitchen (perfect for home cooked meals) and a very large living room. Great for family gatherings for holidays, showers, weddings, graduation, etc.

Please note that the bedrooms are organized in a tandem layout with a hall to the bathroom between them. So our place is better for single couples, families and groups of friends than for two unrelated couples who may want privacy during sleep hours. Per city regulation our max occupancy is 5 overnight.

The immediate neighborhood offers excellent walking, jogging and biking along tree lined streets filled with beautiful old Portland homes. Council Crest (Portland's highest point) and Washington Park Rose Garden are 20 minutes by foot. The Vista Spring Cafe is a 5 minute walk away and close to the bus stop for line 51.

The duplex also features a 7 foot Mason Hamlin Piano which is available to serious pianists with advance notice. A guitar is available to all. Keith and Rocio are your hosts. We live in the upper duplex. We are quiet and work full time but friendly and helpful if you need us. House is equipped with a stereo and smart tv with basic cable only (bring your books or tablet for streaming) and it has central heat and air conditioning via our new heat pump. Summers in Oregon tend to not be very hot with low humidity. We also provide both fans and space heaters in addition to the heat pump.

- "Ok" - "Tucked away in a lovely culdesac, beautiful little house with a lovely flower laden deck, very comfy and cozy for a small family. Nice kitchen with all necessary appliances for anyone who wants to cook. Not to mention a beautiful piano if you play. Hosts were accomodating and available, even while away on vacation themselves. Take in to account single lane driveway, so if you have your own car you'll need to coordinate parking with the host. Also, as a family of 5 we had enough beds, but not enough storage for clothes, etc. Overall the setting is beautiful and the house is lovely and I would highly recommend it."

The newly remodelled and decorated sitting room and master bedroom are spacious and both give onto a lovely deck overlooking Forest Park. The queen bed is firm with a pillow top with hotel-quality organic bamboo sheets. The bathroom has a bath/shower combination with rainfall shower head, bath towels are made of organic cotton, and heated towel rack. An optional Japanese-style room is available for an additional $50/night and can accommodate another couple or allow for two singles who wish to have their own bedroom, or just as an add-on space to relax and/or meditate. We have also recently installed a two-person infra-red sauna to relax tired muscles and add to your overall well-being which is available upon request for an additional $20 per usage. Only minutes from the hustle and bustle of town, with easy access to Portland's many parks and trails, the suite offers a peaceful retreat for reflection and relaxation whether you are visiting on business, pleasure or both. The house sits on a beautifully wooded hillside above Portland. She has converted the lower level into a serene retreat complete with a private balcony that made a great spot for morning coffee. The interior is spacious, very comfortably furnished, and accented with interesting artworks. Mary-Yoko welcomed us and suggested a few restaurants as well as hiking trails nearby, one of which house we took shortly after arriving. We found everything we needed in the apartment. We were pleasantly surprised that a place that felt so removed from city bustle, could be so close to city amenities. Very convenient. We loved it and would stay there again in a flash given the chance."

Mere blocks to Council Crest Park which has a 360 degree view and the popular Fairmont loop for walking or biking. Bus route 51 to downtown Portland and Hillsdale. Most will prefer a car to get around because our neighborhood is hilly. Lyft and Uber are readily available. One parking space available (no oversized vehicles, trailers or campers, max 18').

Accessibility:
Our VRBO is one level with no stairs or steps, from parking to throughout the unit. Flat and paved from parking to front door. Entry gate, front door, access to living, dining and kitchen are all wider than 32", bedroom door 29", and bathroom has 23" door. Bathroom grab bars in shower and next to toilet, for your convenience and safety.

This unit is larger than average for a one bedroom, but we request parties of 1-2 people. Three people can be accommodated, but there is an additional $20 fee per night. Additionally the pullout sofa is a twin size (not full) and does crowd the end of the king bed when opened. If you let me know in advance, I can set the bedroom up with the sofa-bed in a roomier position, and leave it all ready for use (see pics of alternate bedroom setup). Sofa-bed is most appropriate for a child age 5-16 or a smaller adult.

We take cleanliness seriously. This unit is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between each guest. We make sure our unit is spotless every time. We put a double layer of pillow cases on all bed pillows. The bed duvet cover and main sofa covers are also double covered and washed every time. Cleaning supplies are included or inquire if you’d like the unit cleaned mid stay for $85 (offered for stays longer than 10 days).

Unit is ground floor of home. A home which has pets and teens, so some noise should be expected. Cleaning of upstairs unit every Friday at 9:00 AM for example creates some noise. Note, if you are very allergic, cats and dog on floor above unit. We must welcome official service animals, but not companion or comfort animals. We prefer to keep the unit pet/allergen free.

*The kitchen is large and brand new but could be considered a kitchenette as it doesn't have a full-size oven. Cooks need not fear, this kitchen is completely stocked with the chef in mind. Unit is equipped with a large microwave, premium convection/toaster oven, top-rated double burner hot plate, electric griddle, crockpot, waffle iron, blender and more!

Please note only the bedroom has central heating and AC, it's controlled upstairs and doesn't have a thermostat in the unit. The rest of the unit is heated by the gas fireplace insert. It starts with the flick of a switch and has a built-in fan, on high it really puts out the heat. In the summer the apartment stays naturally cool and receives AC from above.

Recreational cannabis is permitted on the patio only, no smoking or vaping of any kind allowed in the house. Tobacco use is prohibited in all areas. Absolutely no parties, gatherings or loud noise allowed.

We are here most of the time, but your privacy and independence are assured. We mainly interact via the app or text, but are happy to meet in person. Feel free to ask for a tour or contactless check-in, we want you to feel comfortable. We respond to questions/requests in a timely manner.

During your stay:
Please leave your shoes at the door. The unit should be left in basically the same state as you found it. Do not move furniture. Please try to be gentle with our apartment from the appliances to the walls, we hope you treat it with care. Please keep noise down between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM in our residential neighborhood. Absolutely no parties or late-night gatherings/noise. No illegal drug use. No illegal internet use.

Patio and yard are exclusively for your enjoyment during your stay, except when our yard maintenance person is working. This usually happens in the afternoon on Friday or Saturday, but can change without notice. Additionally there is a sprinkler system that will go off periodically during the dry months.

Fire pit supplies are not included (do not use wood at the end of patio). Fire kits are available for $15.00. Do not start fires after 8:00 PM. Do not add wood after 8:00 PM. Occasionally there may be a burn ban during the late summer months. If this is the case we will inform you via app message and no open fires may be lit. Weber Charcoal Grill may still be used with store bought charcoal during these events.

Portland trash service is only every other week, 6:00 AM Mondays. Please secure all trash in well tied bags. I will give you a heads up if you're here during trash week. Recycling should go out every Sunday, for early Monday morning pickup.

Please remember this is not a hotel stay. You'll be staying in our home as respected and valued guests. We expect you to be respectful to us, our home & yard and our neighborhood. Thank you so much, your host Melissa

**The owner lives onsite in the main house and this is a private guest house. This is a single level detached guest house and the owners live directly next door to the space.

The Neighborhood:
Raleigh Hills is located in the southwest hills with Beaverton to the west, West Slope to the north, and Progress and Garden Home to the south. It is a safe, quiet neighborhood in the hills with beautiful established landscape. There is tons of shopping, dining and entertainment in the surrounding areas. Downtown Beaverton, Hillsdale, Multnomah Village and Canyon Road are all within 5 min and have plenty of amenities. This is a suburb of Portland with beautiful parks and convenient to all Portland amenities, but would not be considered a “walkable” neighborhood.
Washington Park, home of the Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden and the Rose Garden are 5 min drive from the property. Only 15 minute drive to Downtown and 30 minute drive to the PDX Airport.

Getting Around:
A car is recommended to get around however you could easily UBER to the Sunset Beaverton Transit or the Oregon Zoo and use the Max Light Rail to get around. There is also a bus stop within a couple of blocks from the home. There is shopping and dining approx. .05 miles from the property.
From the Oregon Zoo or Sunset Beaverton Transit station you can park, and use the MAX light rail to get all over Portland Metro 2 minute drive to major shopping and entertainment district; 12 minute drive to downtown Portland; 75 minute drive to the Oregon Coast.

Located in SW Portland, Washington County, a neighborhood with a 10 walking score, close to downtown, Pearl District, and NW 23rd Ave, where you’ll find excellent restaurants with cuisines from around the world and unique shops. Nearby is Washington Park, the Zoo, the Rose Garden and Japanese Garden. The park has many trails for walking, jogging or just to explore. Come relax at our ample 625 sq private studio with a separate living room, a gas insert, kitchenette, one bedroom and one bathroom.

The space
The 625 square feet split level suite downstairs is private with a separate sliding glass door entrance and no stairs. My husband and I occupy the upstairs portion of the house. Park in your own private parking driveway adherent to the unit entrance. Check in at your own convenience after 3:00 pm., a lock-box is provided for easy in and out access to the unit.

The Backyard:
The side patio next to the entrance is for your private use, but you are welcome to share the backyard. In the Summer we have an orchard with many fruit trees, grapes, pears, apples, plums, gojy berries, blue berries and some vegetables which you are welcome to partake of.

The Bedroom:
It is equipped with a queen size bed, a down king comforter and plenty of very comfortable down pillows. All of our sheets are 100% cotton. In the bedroom closet there are extra pillows and another down alternative king comforter in case you might be allergic to down.

The Living Room:
The space is ample (25 x 13 ft) and is equipped with a sofa (sleeping on the sofa is not an option) side tables, living-room chairs and a living room table. The internet is fast. A 65" screen TV is provided with access to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and YouTube (there is no TV cable available). Provided are plenty of warm blankets to cuddle with to enjoy a book or watch a movie.

The living room/dining area has a gas insert with remote control settings that will keep you warm in the cold winter days.
The space is also equipped with a kitchenette, a mini fridge a microwave, K cup coffee maker, coffee pods, and a mini fridge. Snack bars, coffee, tea and filtered water are provided.

The Bathroom:
There is an ample bathroom with a strong water pressure shower and on demand hot water (no waiting for water tank to heat up).Our towels are 100% cotton and we provide you with body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer.

Other extras:
In the bedroom closet you will find an ironing board and iron for your needs; a down alternative comforter cover, extra sheets and extra pillows.

Washer and dryer are also downstairs and accessible to guests upon a prearranged request.

Other things to note
We have one thermostat that regulates the temperature for the entire house during the summer months. We normally keep the temperature between 68 - 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If you need the temperature cooler, please communicate it to one of the owners and we will be happy to adjust it.

While the downstairs studio is completely private, please do keep in mind that my husband and I occupy the entire upstairs portion of the home, and you may occasionally hear some movement. We ask that you please respect our quiet hours from 11pm-7am.

Suite is on lower floor of the main house, but light and bright with private entry. Space is suitable for a couple or 2 single people, would be a bit crowded for 3 adults.

The space
The unit is a 2 room private suite within the main house, with a private entry. Air conditioning throughout on hot summer days and additional space heaters and electric blankets if needed on colder days. Bed in bedroom is a firm queen sized bed. A comfy single blow up bed is available on request.

Entry is accessed from outside stairway ( about 10 steps down) from driveway. Door (with retractable screen) enters into living room where TV and food prep amenities are available. Updated full bathroom with new tub and shower, is down a hallway from both rooms.

House is in a nice neighborhood just 15 minutes from downtown. In the summer you can use the neighborhood pool ($8 per adult and $6 per child) and free tennis or pickle ball courts. There is a park with a playground, picnic tables and fire pits and horse shoe pits just a ten minute walk away.

Public transportation is about a mile away. Will probably need your own car unless you are OK to walk 1 mile to public transport. Close to Arboretum and Forest Park. Unit has a larger mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and cold/hot filtered water dispenser. I will supply coffee, sugar, tea, and milk for your beverages.

Non-smoking household (inside or out) non-smokers only please. 2 people, a dog and a parrot live in the rest of the house but we may not even see each other during your stay unless you need something or have questions.

We love animals and have a Siberian husky dog, and an African Grey parrot. Ivan the husky goes into the yard (only to do his business, and he comes right back inside), but he might be seen in the yard. He is very friendly but will not jump up on you-he is 13 years old and very mellow.

Upscale, architect designed, very bright modern suite, was built as an add-on to the main house. The studio is located in an upscale residential neighborhood which is very safe. Separate entrance. Non-smoking. No Pets.

The space
This large upscale studio was just built specifically for the purpose of vacation or short term or long term rental. It is attached to the main house, but has a separate entrance. Both the main house and the studio were architecturally designed with environmental consciousness. Electricity and hot water are supplied by solar energy for the most part, except during the winter months.
Kitchen is fully equipped with small fridge/freezer, microwave, Miele induction cooking surface, washer/dryer, toaster, coffee maker, French coffee press, blender, all new utensils. Brand new: Smart Oven/ Air Fryer.
Starter supplies, including coffee, tea and creamer.
If you are arriving late and would like for me to purchase breakfast items for you, I would be happy to do so. The large bathroom has tiled shower, hair dryer and plenty of storage. Toiletries are supplied. All linens and towels provided. There is a large closet for all your clothes, etc. The queen bed/mattress, down duvet. The studio is decorated with original art works.
There is plenty of free street parking.
Guests have their own studio with separate entrance. Access to large deck and garden. When in season, guests can help themselves to flowers from the perennial garden and organically grown vegetables.

The studio apartment is located on a cul-de-sac in a quiet, safe SW Portland neighborhood with very good and quick access to local freeways. 7 minutes to downtown. Very convenient access to Oregon Health Science University, the "High Tech Corridor" and Nike. Close to the zoo, Washington Park with the renowned Rose Garden and famous Japanese Garden.

Public transportation (3 bus lines) is within 13 min. walking distance. There is also a direct bus to the Oregon Health Science University.

Although I have lived in a number of cities in Europe and the US, Portland has been home for over 40 years. It is the perfect place from which to explore all of the wonders of the Pacific Northwest. The Pacific ocean is little over an hour away. Mount Hood, where you can ski not only in winter, but also all summer long on a snowfield is 1 1/2 hours away. White water rafting is another nearby adventure, and lets not forget exploring Oregon's famous wine country with its renowned Pinot Noirs. There are so many fantastic wineries within 45 min. of Portland that you could spend days in wine country alone.

Gorgeous territorial view from your window in this light & bright 1500 sq ft in-law apt that makes up the complete & separate lower level of the main house. Private entry down wide steps (with railing) to apartment entry off lower deck. Lovely tucked away and quiet SW neighborhood. Free & safe street parking . Neighborhood park within walking distance has pool, pickle ball courts, picnic tables, BBQ pits and horse shoes. Gorgeous large deck is all yours with comfy deck furniture and fire pit.

The space
The home is in a beautiful SW neighborhood 10 minutes from downtown Portland by car.

When you enter the apartment off the deck you will walk into the great room where the fully equipped kitchen resides (full size fridge, stove, oven , microwave, dining table and chairs, coffee maker, hot water electric pot for tea that won't taste like coffee, portable dishwasher, dishes, pots and pans and everything you need to make a meal except the food itself). Coffee and tea are provided along with milk and sugar. The great room also houses a queen size bed, 2 dressers & 2 nightstands. and two large closets. There's room enough for the living room with two sofas and a big comfy chair along with a TV with Roku and cable. There's a desk with chair for any work you may need to get done and a fireplace insert for ambience or extra heat if needed. There is also a full bathroom with a shower and washer and dryer right off the great room.

A door opens to a long hallway off of which there is a second full bathroom with a new shower and tub, and 2 bedrooms. Bedroom #1 has a second queen bed, a dresser and a large closet with shelves and extra bedding. The second bedroom (#2) has a bunk bed with the lower bunk being a comfy futon that converts to a double size bed with a twin bed on top and a large closet with shelves. If needed I can provide a single cot or single blow up bed and/or a queen size blow up bed- which can fit in 2nd bedroom or great room for another person or if anyone prefers that to a futon or twin bunk. Bedroom #2 has a second TV, a microwave, hot/cold water dispenser, coffee pot, small fridge and smaller supply of dishes as well as a second door to the backyard. The earlier risers can leave to get coffee at Pete's coffee nearby and not wake the others as a second private entry/exit is also on this side of the house. Linen closet on hallway has extra towels.

Short drive to downtown Portland, the Zoo, Forest Park, Arboretum, Washington Park, Washington Square Mall, NIKE campus, OHSU, Portland State, Lewis and Clark College, Intel, Tektronix, and main thoroughfares, HWY 26, HWY 217 & I-5.

There are plenty of board games, and the backyard is fully fenced for your pooch with a large flat grassy area just below bottom deck.

Neighborhood pool can be used for $8 per adult over 18 and $6 for kids. Pets OK upon approval with an extra $50 fee per pet.
