The cabin was very cosy and lovely view of the mountains. Well equipped and clean. I stayed in the childs bunkbed with my daughter and the mattress was the best ive ever slept on! The fairy lights around the ceiling was an extra nice touch. One thing i could have done with was a mop as the dog was a bit muddy on occassion coming back from our walk but otherwise nothing bad to say about the place, would not hesitate returning to this lovely area and cabin. If you stay you must do the precipice walk - it was breathtaking. Lots of information provided by the owner on local things to do and pubs to try - we recomment the Stag Inn and the George 111 - best steak pie in the world. Shop has limited supplies and the site does not accept cash but with Dollgelau 15 mins down the road this was not a big issue."

The cabin is a large 2-bedroom self catering log cabin sleeping up to 5 people, one being on a sofa bed. Free WIFI. Pets are welcome for a fee (no cats), max 2 dogs. Being located in the lower part of the holiday village below the reception it is only a short walk from the children’s play area and has parking for up to 3 cars. It is 2 miles from Coed y Brenin cycling centre and it has lockable bike storage. Ideally suited if you work from home you can take a break and still work via the free wifi.

The cabin features an open plan setting within the lounge, dining room and kitchen, the bedrooms and bathroom are situated off of a small corridor to the rear of the cabin.

The bathroom is a little larger than the standard cabins and has a bath with shower over it. The electric central heating is available from October to End of May. There are also additional heaters available throughout the year and all electricity costs are included.

- "The cabin was nice and clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were small though adequate, especially the smaller room with bunk beds. It would have been very cramped for 2 people. The beds were comfortable with very nice bed covers. The electric shower had a poor flow rate, as they usually do, so it was usable but took a long time to rinse off shampoo. The toilet seat would be too small for very large people. The television signal was poor. Only some channels worked. Others either had no signal or were intermittent, so trying to watch the BBC news was very frustrating. The WiFi was ok. Water pressure was good and once the water heater switch was found,the hot water supply to the washbasin and sink were excellent, almost too hot. Only about a quarter of the nearby cabins were occupied while we were there so the site was peaceful. Good job I took a torch as there is no outside lighting when taking the dog for its last walk at 10pm. The sure shop had the basic supplies and friendly staff. The "cafe" had a bar but very little food, just a choice of two baguettes and I only open short times on some days, so don't rely on it to eat at Overall, it is a pleasant cabin, just rather compact. If it was a couple of feet longer to make the bedrooms a bit bigger it would be even better. It warmedcup quickly The shops down the valley in Dolgellau were good and the beach at Barmouth was really good. The cabin was easy to find as the number was clearly displayed."

With lovely views looking out over the mountains can be seen and enjoyed with sitting on my veranda with a nice glass of wine. Bliss!

We love spending time here as a family in this cosy cabin. The cabin boasts two bedrooms, a modern bathroom, an open plan living room/kitchen and a separate dining area. There are lots of wonderful days out nearby including Portmerion, Harlech Castle, Barmouth beach, Coed Y Brenin biking centre and many others. There is a TV with freeview channels and a selection of DVDS.

Guest access
The place is all yours during the stay. There is parking outside the cabin for two cars and a private garden with seating area.

Other things to note
Check out is 10am and check in from 4pm. There is currently no WiFi in the cabin but there is a phone signal. Bedding is provided, but you'll need to bring you own towels. Please remove the rubbish at the end of your stay. Site bins are a two minute walk from the cabin.

The Space:

We are very fond of our little Cabin and have aimed to create somewhere that is well equipped, welcoming and, as many of our guests say: a Home from Home. We certainly love spending time there as an escape from everyday life and we hope you’ll love it as much as we do!

Our self catering cabin has a fully equipped kitchen & living area with TV & Freesat, 2 bedrooms - 1 double & 1 single (note this is a fold out single bed) and a shower room.

The kitchen should be fully equipped with all you need to make a 3 course dinner or just a nice bacon sarnie in the morning. There's an oven, hob and microwave and lots of pots & pans as well as cutlery, crockery and glass wear. We like to keep the cupboards stocked with a few basics – coffee, tea, Tomato Ketchup, Salt & Pepper etc – just in case! There is a small shop on site if you need any basic supplies too.

At the start of 2017 the cabin had a new, fully insulated external cladding added to it & in late 2019 we had the roof insulated also which is keeping everyone warmer in Winter and cooler in Summer. However, please remember that cabin is a completely wood construction so the floors can be still a little chilly underfoot, so packing your Slippers is a great idea!

Mobile signal has improved drastically in the past few years and you'll be able to easily stream films & shows to your devices or make video calls using 4G - perfect for a lazy day in bed! We've also been able to work remotely here as the connection is strong enough to support video calls, so if you need a workcation, then you can escape here for a few days!

We also have a large supply of DVDs in the cabin for cold or wet days that you might not want to go out - so stay in and curl up on the sofas!

*Please note in order to keep rental/ cleaning costs down, we do not provide ANY linens including all bed linen, towels, bath mats, tea towels, cleaning cloths etc. Guests will need to bring their own. Thank You.

Guest access
The place is all yours during your stay and in addition to this there's a small shop, launderette (great after a day mountain biking or hill walking) & well equipped playground on site. Sadly the pub on site was devastated by a huge fire in Oct 2018 and is closed for the foreseeable future whilst it is rebuilt. As it's Grade II listed though, this is taking some time to get sorted.

Recently a small cafe/bar has opened up on site (opposite the Reception building) - check their A board outside for latest opening times as it varies with the season. Or, if you want a night out, taxis are available. Please ask us for more info, or check the guidebook at the Cabin.

The nearest village is Trawsfynydd which is just under 3 miles away. It has a pub and a Premier shop as well as a Petrol Station with a shop on the A470/ A4212 Junction.

Larger shops / supermarkets and all tourist attractions are accessible by car - to the South you'll find Dolgellau & Barmouth and to the north Porthmadog (best for shops) & Harlech. Most things are about 20/25 mins drive away (a perfect opportunity to take in the scenery!). There is a dedicated space for car parking right outside the cabin so parking should not be an issue.

Other things to note
Check in is at 3 pm and Check out is at Midday.

At the cabin itself there's no Wifi currently due to the location. There is a mobile mast on the site now though and Mobile signal has been greatly improved and is good enough to stream Sky, Netflix etc or work remotely and do video calls.

Due to restrictions from the Snowdonia National Park Authority we are obliged to close for 1 month a year - the dates for this closure are currently from Jan 7 to Feb 6.

We require ALL guests to have a history of positive feedback from previous hosts so please note if you are new to Airbnb or have little/no reviews we are unlikely to accept your booking. As we are not on site we like to have extra confidence in the bookings - If we do not accept your booking please don't take this personally!

Whilst it is possible to navigate the area by using public transport and there is a bus stop right outside the cabin site, this is not the easiest way to enjoy the area as busses are not super regular. So we don't really recommend booking if you don't have a car however, the choice is entirely yours.

This Scandinavian log cabin in Snowdonia National Park, sleeps 2-6 people and is suitable for couples, families and friends and is dog friendly.

It’s a great base for climbing Snowdon, hiking, biking, rock climbing, watersports, horse riding, and zip world. There are forests, hills, valleys, mountains, historic castles, quaint villages and beautiful beaches nearby.

A great escape from it all - perfect for relaxing with family and friends or simply dark night star gazing.

The space
This Scandinavian log cabin sleeps 2-6 people in 3 bedrooms and is ideal for couples, families or groups of friends.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is well equipped for a long stay or short break.

There’s a coffee machine (Nescafé Dolce Gusto), full size dishwasher & a large fridge/freezer capable of storing groceries for a week, kettle, toaster, microwave, electric hob and oven.

You’ll find tea, coffee and sugar ready for your arrival and cleaning products and dishwasher tablets in the cupboard - a home from home.

Lounge/dining area:
The cabin has been extended to provide an open plan, bright, light, sociable living space.

There are now 3 leather sofas (red fabric sofa replaced); a dining table and chairs; WiFi; TV; Netflix; DVD’s; board games and a small selection of books.

Bedrooms:
All cabin bedrooms are small and cosy. There are two small double bedrooms at either end of the cabin. The middle bedroom has one full size single bed and a high sleeper which is accessed by a set of ladders. This high sleeper is only suitable for children or small light agile adults who are happy climbing up and down stepladders.

All beds are made up with fresh cotton linen and towels are provided. There are no additional laundry costs as this is incorporated into the cleaning fee.

Please note storage is limited in all cabin bedrooms.

Bathroom:
There’s one bathroom with a shower cubicle.

Bath towels, hand towels and bath mat are provided so just pack your own beach towels.

Outside:
The deck area has outdoor rattan dining furniture - perfect for morning coffee, alfresco dining, BBQ’s, or just enjoying the moment.

The BBQ has gas provided but this cannot be guaranteed. BBQ utensils can be found in the kitchen drawers. BBQ cleaning products and brush can be found under the kitchen sink. If using the BBQ please be respectful and clean this after use for the next guests as it is not a service offered by the cleaning company.

Parking:
There’s a designated parking space directly outside the cabin. Please note there is a significant drop at the end of the parking space. This is marked with post and rope.

Unfortunately, due to fire risks and insurance this log cabin cannot charge electric vehicles. There are designated EV charging points at Coed y Brenin or in supermarkets in Porthmadog and Dolgellau.

Situation:
The cabin is situated in a quiet tranquil holiday village. There is a small shop within reception, a cafe, laundry, playground and secure dog walking area.

Locations of facilities can be found by tapping on ‘location’.

There are lovely walks, activities and local pubs within an easy driving distance. Coed y Brenin National Cycling Centre and the old gold mines are a 5 minute drive; The National white water centre is 20 minutes away ; Zip World is only 15 minutes away; and the Beaches of Southern Snowdonia 30 minutes drive.

Pets:
We are a very dog friendly family and are happy to welcome dogs to our cabin. No other pets are permitted.

We hope you will be
considerate dog owners and abide by the dog policy:

1. Only 2 dogs allowed in the cabin.

2. Dogs must be fully house trained and toilet outdoors.

3. Dogs must be well behaved and non-destructive.

4. Dogs must not be left unattended in cabins.

5. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms or on the sofas or furniture.

Should dog hair be found on bedding an additional fee will be requested for a deep clean and extra laundry for the next guests.

6. Dogs must be kept on a lead around the site and in the garden area. There is however a designated dog walking area where dogs can run free and miles and miles of countryside and beaches.

7. Please “bag it and bin it”. There are lots dog waste bins around the site.

The cabin is on a hillside and accessed via a downward slope to the right or stone steps to the left of the parking space.

The cabin itself is on one level.
Sadly it was built many years ago and doesn’t comply with disabled living requirements and is not wheelchair friendly.

The space
This lovely, stylish cabin sleeps up to 4 but equally is perfect for a couple or solo trip. All rooms are beautifully finished and furnished to a high spec. The sun room and terrace provide a beautiful spaces to sit, eat, relax and enjoy the mountain valley views. There is a small private garden with hedgerow roses to also relax in where you can enjoy the sight and sounds of birds and insects.

NB This is a vegetarian / fish kitchen ♡
Guests are kindly requested not to prepare or cook meat.

Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome!

Freshly laundered bedding and towels are provided as well as warm blankets for cosiness and star gazing!

Guest access
You have sole use of the whole cabin, terrace and garden. Guests self check-in via a key safe any time from 4pm, checkout by 10am.

There is a parking place for 1-2 cars in a small site carpark down from the cabin. From there you walk for 2 minutes max up a small gravel path past trees, bushes and other cabins (unsuitable for wheel- or push-chairs). This short journey is the perfect way to unwind in nature as you approach the cabin.

There is a park shop (for essentials) + launderette on site, with a new park cafe / bistro due to open this summer which guests have welcome access to.

The nearest towns are Dolgellau and Porthmadog for supermarket and other shopping, there is a petrol garage by Trawsfynydd by junction of A470 + Bala road and there are cafes, pubs and restaurants within a short drive.

Other things to note
No fires, candles, parties or events.
No smoking or vaping in or near the cabin please.
If you do bring a BBQ please only use it safely away from the log cabin + decking, being sure to check it is fully extinguished after use.
Take all your rubbish to the carpark bins (to not encourage pests). Recycling of plastic, tins etc is greatly encouraged.
No barking or yapping dogs please.
The park is a quiet place and all holiday makers are requested to respect others by keeping noise to a minimum between 10pm - 8am.
Do bring a torch as the path to the cabin is unlit.
Binoculars, camera and walking boots are recommended.

The space
Inside is open plan accommodation for up to 4 people with big comfy sofas and a neatly set out kitchen.
There are the most amazing views from the lounge/ dinning area of the Rhinog mountain range and Cadair Idris, for you to enjoy whilst relaxing.

There are two double bedrooms one has a t.v on the wall.

Outside is an enclosed, spacious decking areas with seating and a BBQ set away from the cabin.
There is a garden surrounding the cabin and parking set 200 yards away in the carpark.

The site Shop, Laundrette, Park, dog walking area and Bistro are available to all cabin guest.

There are so many amazing walks to share with your dog but we do have a few rules and request.
