I love the natural surroundings and the fact that a lot of thought was given to the grounds, with lots of trees growing around the property. The property could do a better job with the breakfast buffet offering, as the food is hit and miss. The surrounding area is gorgeous and so are the grounds, but they have a problem with sand flies called Jejenes in Honduras, which makes the beach a bit of a challenge. The best part of this hotel is probably the most mismanaged, the Restaurant by the beach: Imagined going to a beach resort where you cannot have neither breakfast or dinner in the beach restaurant! The beach restaurant, which is absolutely beautiful only serves lunch; what a missed opportunity. The property also has missed a great opportunity with bird-watchers (guilty as charged, here) since there is a trail with tons and tons of birds in the property, which is used for dumping natural garden clippings. The trail ends at a secluded beach that is both beautiful and dirty, again, a missed opportunity. The food department has some challenges as well, they could do better. Would I recommend this place to others or go back? Absolutely yes, to both. "

- "My stay at this property was wonderful! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the property itself is beautiful. While the rooms have a slightly outdated brown interior, they are still very cozy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel. There was one issue regarding the premium liquor included in my package. The hotel’s website advertised brands such as Patrón and Don Julio, which influenced my decision to book. However, when I attempted to order these at the bar on my first day, I was informed that they were not included. After seeking clarification from the front desk the following day, I was told that premium liquor was indeed part of the package. Despite this, the bar staff continued to deny my request. It was only after speaking with the bar manager and showing the website’s advertisement that the issue was resolved. Unfortunately, the bar staff seemed reluctant to provide premium liquor for the remainder of my stay. Aside from this, my trip was excellent. The hotel’s location is perfect, with everything within walking distance. Additionally, they offer a convenient store where guests can use a credit card to receive cash back in either USD or Honduran currency. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would recommend this hotel."

We were wearing down and decided to take it as it was only the one night. Next thing I get an urgent message from Hotels.com that my reservation has been cancelled. Specifically "...HK hotel group cannot honor your upcoming booking on 1/8/25. Occasionally, properties have to change or modify bookings unexpectedly." However. I went back on the app and they were advertising the same apartment we told was unavailable for the same day! If you do decided to stay here i would be aware of their bait and switch approach."

- "We stayed here in February for several days and decided to end our trip on Utila early to come back because here we loved it so much. The rooms are large and clean, and the beds are comfortable. Falling asleep to the sounds and darkness of the jungle is a very peaceful experience. We stayed in the Bamboo room and the Colibrí. My preference was the two story Bamboo room, since it felt like it was right in the jungle. The food is exceptional, and the servers are great. Special shout out to José. - "Very helpful" - "A convenient place to stay for those wishing to explore Comayagua. Patio de Joan is only a few blocks from the city center and the central park area. The couple who own Patio de Joan were both very nice people, the wife conversational in English. The room was nice and the outdoor sitting area pleasant. Each morning they offered coffee in the outdoor sitting area which was very nice. Prior reviewers have mentioned the noise from a nearby bar. That bar was on the same side of the street as Patio de Joan but at the other end of the block. So it wasn't like the sound of the music was next door. You could hear the music if you kept the window open at night. However the noise was not at a level that I found disturbing. I simply used ear plugs and "blue toothed" my headphones to "white noise" on my hand held device throughout the night. "
