- "Perfect house with access to Lake Como for swimming. Mesmerising views and can walk into Varenna. Retreating back to Fiumelatte was fabulous as Varenna was very busy. - 'LA PACE' and 'VILLA IOLANDA' are two separate houses with a separate garden, which are located below Cremia, whose district Marnino - in the nature reserve - ideal for switching off. The stone cottages are on the lake shore preferred by George Clooney, on a green country terrace 200m above the lake with beautiful panoramic views. Extensive hiking trails are right outside the front door, such as the 'Via Monte Lariani', an old hiking trail that starts in Como and ends in Sorico with a constant view of the lake.

'LA PACE' and 'VILLA IOLANDA' can be reached on foot from the public car park, which is about 5 minutes away. It is about 10 minutes on foot and about 2 minutes by car to Lake Como.
Without using the car, within a 5-minute walk there is a soccer field, a children's playground, a bar and a supermarket open until 7 p.m.
La Pace and Villa Iolanda are in an ideal place for walks and excursions, without cars and surrounded by nature. All the countries of northern Lake Como are connected by a lakeside walk.

All year round there is the possibility to drive up to approx. 1000m high by car and from there to enjoy wonderful views of hikes. The Rifugio 'La Canua' (1500m high) can be reached in 20 minutes by car. and an hour's walk. There you have a wonderful view of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.
Even in winter you can be in a large sunny ski area (3000m high) in 1 hour, often with a lot of snow. Maps and overviews are available in the house.

- "Firstly may I say what an absolute gentleman Favio is. I booked the property a couple of years ago, to visit the Moto Guzzi 100 year anniversary with friends and family. Obviously with the Covid issues, it was delayed. Favio kept in constant communication, reassuring me all was well. On arriving at the villa in September 2022, we found a beautiful property, with views of the lake and the mountains to the rear. Favio met us, and showed us around the villa. Absolutely amazing. The villa was spotless, and the facilities were excellent. (I think it must have the best view from the loo that i have ever seen 😊) I must admit, we did find it a little difficult to locate when travelling back and forth on the motorcycles, but we finally got it😁. My family flew in a couple of days later, and were truly impressed with the property. The morning after we arrived, we found a large basket of grapes left on the table outside, and when my family arrived, we found that a basket of pastries had been left for us. It is little things like this that really make an impression. The walk down to the train station is a little bit of a hike, and taxis are scarce, so transport may be advisable..., we used the motorcycles to shuttle the family back from the station when we returned from the Moto Guzzi rally. Did I mention the garage..huge, and very secure. Happy to leave our bikes in there. All in all a superb property and a fantastic host. Not overbearing, but was there when you needed him. No complaints whatsoever. (A word of advice though.. When the weather is a little damp, as with everywhere, it does seem to bring the midges out, so don't forget your Autan midge repellent😊) Many thanks for our fantastic visit Favio. Saluti 👍😎"

PARKING:
There is no private parking at the property, but the little town has plenty of free public parking throughout. Depending on the time of day you may find one very close to the house, or a short walk away, at most a few hundred yards.

Brienno is a very small town - it only has one great pizzeria and one upscale restaurant. However, in the town next door, Argegno, there is a lovely bakery, a small fruit/vegetable store, and a small grocery store.
For supermarkets, we recommend the Bennet supermarket in Como, or a good mid-sized supermarket in Lenno, both about 15 minutes away.
Mon-Thurs 7.30 am to 9 am there is a food truck with bread, cheeses, cold cuts, etc.

- "We had such an amazing stay, absolutely loved having a balcony AND a terrace with perfect views of Lake Como and the charming tiny town of Brienno. There truly is no comparison with Brienno, it’s much sleepier than the busier touristy towns on the fabulous lake, yet has a lot of conveniences, like the morning food truck selling insanely cheap and delicious homemade bread, local cheeses and charcuterie! The best pizza we had in Italy was nearly next door and the fancier restaurant had incredible pasta. We loved the beach bar where we could get a perfect Cappuccino, soda, drink or snack and swim in the lake! The cottage itself has everything we required and was a perfect home base. We had steeled ourselves for the many stairs but truly they were not that bad! We had a bit of struggle with the trash (5 bins but only 2 with bags and a bit confusing for us) but the host was super quick and responsive and helped us get it right. Highly recommend this place. The Space
"Milano Porta Venezia" (MPV ) is a 55 square meters completely renovated apartment: modern amenities with vintage charme! It consists of a kitchen/living-room with balcony (very useful for smokers) and a corridor that takes to the independent night area. The corridor leads to 2 separate bed-rooms and to the bathrooms. It is soundproof, so you will not hear any noise and sounds and you will not be waked by morning sun light because metal shutters block it out. "Milano Porta Venezia” ( MPV) is your ideal starting point for any urban and suburban itineraries; it is a fantastic location: nestled perfectly between the cathedral/Duomo (4 min.) and Centrale railway Station (5 minutes) where there are shuttle buses connecting directly to Malpensa and Orio al Serio airports. A 10 minutes walk, or with the nearby bike-sharing, you can get to the famous “Quadrilatero della Moda” (Fashion District) in the heart of the city, maybe with a stop by the historical Porta Venezia gardens. These can be used for outdoor physical activities and to make children play. The fastest way (19 minutes) to visit Rho Fiera is the “Passante Ferroviario” (Railway Bypass): its station is right in front of “your” apartment, and it is called, needless to say, Milano Porta Venezia. Como lakes can be reached in less than one hour.

Guest Access
Guests will be welcomed by the owner at the main entrance of the building in the street. They can make use of the entire apartment and can enjoy all its comforts. Fresh and quality ingredients are available for immediate needs. In case of vegetarian diet or gluten, lactose, egg intolerance, specific food will be provided, upon notification when booking.

Interaction with Guests
The owner is present at check in and check out.
Check in and check out time can be flexible if there isn't a departure or an arrival in the same day (the apartment needs time to be cleaned!). In any case luggage can be dropped off. The owner will be available during all your staying for suggestions and advices; she enjoys meeting all her guests, but she respects their privacy and space as well. Please, feel free to interact with her as much or as little as you would like to.

The Neighbourhood
From "Milano Porta Venezia" you can explore and experience Milan comfortably and in style! The "shopping street" district has a colorful and diverse nature. To be a central district, it has indeed its own strong identity: just take a look at Via Panfilo Castaldi, and you will see a glorious road that opens like a theater scene with the nineteenth-century banner of the historical hat shop, or try also to go to the Popolare bookshop in Tadino street. As the writer Giorgio Fontana says: "Porta Venezia is “a little happy island in many large streets ". Now the district is evolving in an interesting way: hipster locations appear more and more. It is a neighborhood that has a heart; a heart that beats many different rhythms. It has fantastic craft shops, cafes and restaurants with great chefs for all tastes and budgets. It was like having a little guardian angel looking out for us. In Ranco, on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore, we rent a villa in an elegant, reserved and quiet environment with a superb view of the lake and the Alps.
The villa is surrounded by a huge terraced garden of 3000 square meters in which there is a large swimming pool. Furnished with care and sophistication, it is ideal for holidays and up to 10 people (MAX 8 ADULTS and 2 KIDS). Nearby you can take advantage of a golf course and a beautiful bike trails, nautical activities, hiking and trekking or historical cultural visits, the countless artistic and historical Lombardy and Piedmont close.
Ranco is located 45 km from Milan.

The kitchen is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. Communication with the owners was first class and they were really helpful. The town of Ranco is very small but there are three restaurants within walking distance, a great bar on the lake, a brilliant deli and a pharmacy. You can also get the ferry to other parts of the lake. The only minor niggle is the water pressure which can be a little weak if two people are having a shower at the same time… but it really was no big deal for us. All in all a great villa and would have no hesitation to recommend or stay again."

Argegno is 25 minutes driving from Menaggio, with is famous Lido, and cars/passengers ferryboat which takes visitors to the other famous Golden triangle towns of Varenna and Bellagio. In 20 minutes you can reach Como town which offers high street shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants. The famous Duomo, Volta Museum, Palazzo Broletto, Villa Olmo with its year round art and musical events are just some of the place that you can visit. On the way to Como you can stop to the lakeside towns of Carate Urio, Laglio and Cernobbio with their peaceful charm and elegant villas and gardens can be explored at your leisure.
Night life on the lake: Lido di Lenno, Lido di Bellagio, clubs and bars of Como offer music and fun until the morning.

It was beyond anything I could have ever expected. Francesco helped us connect with a celebrant, photographer, florist, and chef for our big day! The wedding was GORGEOUS. Directly after the wedding ceremony, Francesco took us on his personal boat and drove us around the lake with our photographer. That night, the chef came by the house, used Francesco's kitchen and wine and served us a 4 course meal, baked our wedding cake, etc. Not only did this property provide enough room to accommodate 8 people in my party comfortably, it turned into our dream wedding venue. I cannot speak highly enough of the host, Francesco. None of this could have been possible without him and I've never had a host as responsive, respectful, and genuinely caring for his guests. She is very kind and gives a lot of valuable advice, such as restaurant bookings, excursions, bus and boat advice. The apartment is less than 5 minutes walk to the Lungolago, and had a private parking spot, which is invaluable at Lake Como. During day time it is hard to park anywhere at Lake Come, so take the bus or boat, both in a very short walking distance of te apartment. Lenno is a beautiful small town. Lenno has the perfect balance between not being too crowdy but has a lot to offer. We felt it was the nicest village to stay in at Lake Como. Close to everything. If you fancy a swim one day head to the lovely free beach (with inexpensive beach bar) of Porlezza, only 25 min by car (and plenty of free parking space). We highly recommend staying at Ambra's place to experience true Italian hospitality!"
