- "5 girls stayed here for 4 days to explore the island. We had great weather for 3 of the 4 days and will be back to explore all of what we missed. We had trouble with there being enough hot water for all of us to shower and there was an ant problem in the kitchen which could be controlled by being mindful of leaving out any food. The walk up and down with luggage was no joke, but typical of other stays in Almafi as well. House had great AC but the shutters were loud with extreme wind. Also, there is a locked door that no one told us about and we heard voices etc over there. The structure appears to be 4 houses so maybe it was a division but a little strange. No microwave but stove worked well and kitchen was stocked with all that we needed."

- "Beautiful property! We stayed during an historic heat wave and the air conditioning held up wonderfully, which is not always the case with Italian rental properties. Plenty of space for six people and having access to a large TV with Netflix was huge! They were very accommodating with our last-minute early arrival and met us at the dock to lead us to the property. The freezer was super effective and had no problem churning out ice, which as an American I have always found frustratingly lacking in Europe. We brought our own ice trays and left them there... hopefully they make them available to future guests! The only cons that I can think of are: -The hike to the villa is not for the faint of heart. The heat didn't help, but there is no option but to walk up a mountain on a relatively steep path. My kids and I did fine with it, but my in-laws who are in their mid-60's struggled and it become a bit prohibitive of them freely going down to town. Would probably not have been as big of a deal had it not been for the aforementioned heat wave. -The sea area was great, but we did not find it to be "private" as was stated in the description. It's a small rocky area at the bottom of some stairs, but there were routinely other people in the area when we went down. I'm not sure where they were coming from, but it definitely seemed like more of a shared space. It wasn't a huge deal though, there was plenty of ocean for everyone!"

- "We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment that is full of character and in an ideal location in a ischia Ponte. It has a balcony overlooking the sea with views of the castle and terrace at other side. It is clean and well equipped, the bed is comfortable and it’s worth the 67 steps to get to it but a struggle with luggage. The bathroom is a bit old fashioned and could do with an update but we still loved it. Kettle smells of burnt plastic when used. Extra charges are off-putting."

- "There was a lot of space in this room! There was a queen bed and two twin beds. Lots of windows, a private patio, a large bathroom, and a great location near the castle. We loved our time here. " - "Daniela, the owner, was on hand to greet us and show us to our room which was ready despite the fact we arrived a few hours before official check in time. The room was clean, with lovely and fresh decor, with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The hairdryer was powerful as was the shower and the bed was comfortable as well as being very large! Shower gel, caps and soap was provided. We had a lovely balcony which looked over the back terraces and a view of the sea. Breakfast was served from 8am on the first floor level with fresh pastries, coffee and juices plus a number of long-life extras in the room if you wanted more. There was also a fridge in the room which was great to store our own drinks, yoghurts, etc. The Vigna Rooms are off of the main road in Ischia Ponte (next to Delia's Dress Shop, up a little hill), well situated for many restaurants, shops, the castle, the beach and the bus stop - No. 7 goes to and from the main bus station at Ischia Port (but not between 11am and 1pm!) Daniela kindly lent us some beach towels and both she and all her staff were charming and engaging, we felt welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and stay here again."

10 minutes walk from the village of Ischia Ponte and the Aragonese Castle built in 15th century. 5 minutes by taxi from the port where hydrofoils and ferries connect Ischia to Naples, 5 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket, local bus stop right outside the street in order to reach the rest of Ischia's attractions: Epomeo, Forio, the botanical garden of Mortelle , Negombo thermal park etc.

- "The setting is incredible; wonderful views from the east-facing terrace, which has the lovely hammock and the shade of the olive trees if you want it. The cottage itself is utterly charming, with both heating and air-con and great shutters for black-out and strong windows that reduce noise. There was foodstuffs left for us in the kitchen - thank you, and mosquito stuff too (which we needed). As a tea-drinker, I would have appreciated a kettle, but otherwise the kitchen was fantastically well-equipped. Piero had left us great information on local transport and the house and the area. You reach the sea by several flights of stairs - there's a concrete platform by the sea (the lawn is down there too). And a cabin with sun-loungers, lilos and toys in. Even in late October we swam in the sea which is clear. You can easily swim out to the Sant Anna rocks and our daughter set out to climb them. The cottage is best in sunny weather and perfectly set up for meals on the terrace (the only dining area). The kitchen is in an adjoining building that opens out onto the terrace and is a few steps away from the door of the main cottage. The one day we had rain, we felt this as a disadvantage. And by October the steps to the sea have been taken down and the neighbouring hotel is dismantling its wooden jetties and doing its end-of-season rebuilding. None of this would be an issue in the summer. The bus stop is immediately outside the house entrance. "

- "A charming, cute and lovely sized house for us. With all the amenities and facilities that you could wish for in a self-catering place. We were very impressed with the provisions - eg, cooking utensils, beach towels, deck chairs, beach bags, herb garden etc. Kitchen had gorgeous views. Property was tastefully decorated, providing many little homely touches. Beware, there are stairs up to the house and up to the mezzanine bedroom floor. Bathroom is on this floor and has a sloped ceiling, but we quickly got use to it. The house is the most photographed property on the beach! The pretty potted plants and flowers added to the charm. So did the added daily activities of the local fisherman tending their boats outside our windows. We were lucky to have been introduced to a lovely enthusiastic female taxi driver called Loredana. Not only did she provide transport to the port, but provided an excellent 3 hour introduction tour to Ischia island. This gave us a glimpse of what was available and where to return to for our day trips. Her local knowledge and stories about Ischia were very entertaining. Communication with Peppino and Francesco were faultless. They were friendly, thoughtful and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. We would definitely return! "

The main attraction of Ischia is the thermal baths. Ischia is a volcanic island whose subsoil pours out more than a hundred springs of water rich in minerals and of several different temperatures. Ancient Romans already acknowledged that the water had therapeutic and sacred properties.
