The ambassadors are fantastic, suggesting anything from destinations for sightseeing trips, restaurants for dinner and transport etc. All their restaurant suggestions were great and they always managed to get us waterside tables. We had an absolutely fantastic time at The House, being very lazy and pampered. There are only couples at the hotel as children under 17 are not allowed, hence a lot of peace and quiet. Daphne, the restaurant next door was great too, as was the complimentary massage in our room. As soon as you showed up downstairs, you would be greated und addressed by name, your sunloungers ready with towels and a bucket of Evian bottles waiting for you. The ambassadors always looked cool and neat, in crisp white or cream linen kaftans and trousers. There is a small, but well-equipped gym and a small swimming-pool, but who needs that if you have the wonderfully warm and clear ocean right in front of you. We really came to appreciate the intimacy of the place, the relaxed atmosphere and the attentive service."

- "This is a beautiful property, with a great beach area. The water is a little wavy, but you can swim, snorkeling is okay if the water is calm. The drinks are amazing, and the food was great! (not always true in an all-inclusive). There is public transportation that is easy to use. There all white vans with maroon strips and funny horns, if you hear it, just wave and jump in. It's $1.75 USD for a ride, doesn't matter if it's a block or across the island. Pay on your way out. The white and yellow buses are the same. We did a catamaran tour, they are all the same, all the boats leave, return at the same time and go to the same areas. Lunch was good, I pet a sea turtle and we snorkeled the ship wrecks. It was a fun day. There is a horse track across the street and down 2 blocks. We walked there. We placed bets at the green building and watched the first 2 races from the grass (free). Then decided to go into the seated area. It was $12.50 USD to sit in a shaded seat by the finish line. There's food venders, and drinks. The races are on Saturdays 3-7 pm. We loved it. Every morning they walk the horses to the beach to swim. The horses love it, and for a tip you can get some pics and sit on a horse and help wet them down. If you like horses it was fun to watch them play in the sand and swim. This is 5:30-7:30 am. There's a gas station across from the track, just go down that road and you will see them. Bridge town has a lot of cool old buildings worth a trip. "

- "The property is beautiful. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We were a little early for check in. We were provided with free rum punch at the bar while we waited for our room ( which they made sure they got ready then). This was our first trip to Barbados. Everyone was kind, answered our questions, and helped us arranged excursions. We mentioned that it was our 30th anniversary and when we came back one evening we found a bottle of champagne on ice in our room. The pool was clean and beautiful with a swim up bar. - "We ( family of 4) only stayed 2 nights after 5 days of exploring the island so our time was really for some R&R/beach time so unfortunately we didn't explore beyond the complex but Oistins is so so close, and I heard the fish fry is a great time. Their independence day celebration was wonderful! - "Peaceful Staff helpful Everything you need for a good holiday " - "Port St Charles is an amazing place. Sea turtles and various species of fish swim and play amongst the boats parked at the marina. Our 3 kids (13,11,9) never got tired of walking the docks each day to see what they could see. We were there in the off season, and it was very quiet. A perfect time to watch the marine life. Every day we used the water taxi to take us to Pier 1 restaurant. We ate great meals and used the beach chairs on the deck. We went snorkelling and swam with sea turtles. We swam across the channel from Pier 1 to the beach there and watched the wide variety of boats come in and out of the lagoon at Port St Charles. Our two bedroom apartment was cleaned to perfection every day. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels for all of us. The gym at Port St Charles is excellent and is fully air conditioned. The ONLY negative for us was that one of the bedrooms had windows with wooden slats that allowed the hot air into the room. The room did have an air conditioner and a fan, but they were not effective during a week of high heat and humidity. To be fair, I did not raise this issue with the front desk. We were all tired out at the end of each day, so the kids passed out every night with no complaining. We all loved our room and its location and did not want to move to another room, so we tolerated it and had a great week. I only mention it so others are aware. Port St Charles is a wonderfully unique experience. Stay here if you can!"

- "My wife and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary, and we had an excellent time there. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the amenities were perfect for a quiet adults only break. My only gripe is that there were not enough sun beds and towels, they should have a rule that if you have not used your bed or towel in an hour you loose the bed as many people would put towels on a bed as early as 7 am and not use the bed until way after lunch. This charming ground floor 2 bedroom/1 bath end unit is set in the lush tropical gardens within the prestigious Sugar Hill Resort on the west coast of Barbados. The layout encompasses a newly renovated and fully equipped kitchen with Quartz countertops and an open plan living and dining area which leads unto the large veranda for your outdoor dining pleasure as well as additional lounge space. The veranda flows on to the beautifully landscaped grounds. The master bedroom which also leads unto the veranda is outfitted with A/C, ceiling fan, wall mounted TV and has ample closet space. This master bedroom shares the newly renovated and modern bath room with the second guest bed room also outfitted with A/C and ceiling fan and has views of the garden.

- "Lovely place. We have stayed in a villa there before. There was an internet issue on Christmas Eve. The property manager dropped round a mifi to resolve which was exceptional. Thank you" - "We spent a good amount of our time on the perfect patio. Coffee and breakfast in the morning. Reading and relaxing after a swim in the pool that was just 100 meters from our back door, in the afternoon , and a cool drink in the evening by candlelight. The villa itself was clean and very nicely decorated. The owner was attentive and thoughtful when questions were asked. The walk down to the beach was a little more than expected, but we did manage to find a very nice driver who would drive us up the hill with groceries or take us out and back in the evenings during our week. We considered renting a car, but we decided that it would be nice to be able to have a few drinks with supper and not worry about driving. The Deck staff were very friendly and the food and drinks very good. Would definitely recommend this rental to a couple or even a young family. There was the second bedroom that we didn’t use and it was a good size. Christopher very kindly left us a welcome cold bottle of wine and soft drinks to start our holiday. Thank you for a very good time!"

- "Lovely accommodation set in beautiful grounds. Accommodation was spacious with an amazing patio and had everything and more that we needed equipment wise and beds were comfy. Pool was a few steps away and never busy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our return to Barbados." - "Enjoyable stay, and very good value. The golf resort is a quiet oasis in a busy part of the island … yet only ~1km from beaches, shops and restaurants (walkable for some; otherwise taxis are reasonable). We used the nearby pool a lot during our stay; each villa cluster has its own pool, and it was never crowded. The villa was well designed and equipped, and comfortably accommodated six. Bedroom A/Cs worked well, and beds were super comfortable. Elaine was helpful by allowing us to check in a couple hours early; friendly property manager Joshua was there when we arrived, and gave us an overview. - "The Crane was a lovely vacation spot with great views, a phenomenal beach and friendly staff. We had an issue with the hot water on our first day but the manager moved us to a similar room with an even better view. Problem solved. Everything was great and we would be happy to come back. " - "Our host was awesome, emails on things to see, rental cars, ways to dodge tourist traps, etc. Never had someone communicate so well. As for the property itself, probably 3.5/5 - The walkways are covered in moss, ponds are not kept up well, pools are missing tiles and sections are haphazardly repaired, service pool side was slow, restaurants were mediocre at best with similar service level issues, sushi dinner took 2 hours for example, no drink refills (not even for water). At check in you give your name, but as you use the resort you have to sign everything using the hosts name, which gets really confusing. Check in is also in this little room in the middle of the main area, it was dark and really not laid out very well. AC Units in the rooms didn't have filters, patio doors didn't shut all the way so the room was humid for half the trip, beds destroyed my back so much that I ended up sleeping on the tile floor the last three nights. The rooms in the photos are kind of a collection of rooms that are possible. We thought we were getting a middle room with an unobstructed ocean view but ended up on an end of a building and foliage blocked most of the view to the ocean. I am not sure the host has control over room selection so can't hold them at fault. The island itself was easy to traverse, driving on the left hand side was a bit different but not hard to deal with. We made it to many of the different parishes, tried a lot of different food and saw a lot of cool stuff."
