We will definitely come back again." - "It's been a while since we last visited Mission Hills and it was such a nice surprise to find that there are just so many more things to do here now. The place is still beautiful and relaxing and the services remained professional and engaging as before. With a quick ride on the free shuttle bus we got to this new shopping complex, MH Mall. Man, it had everything there. So many dining options, including our favourite, Haidilao hotpot. We walked around the mall and found some interesting places that our kids will definitely enjoy - giant ice rink, bowling, trampoline park, amusement games and even indoor horseback riding. It's crazy. It's just not something you can find in a HK shopping mall. We bought some nice cold drinks and took our friend's recommendation and walked to the nearby ecology park to try out their go-kart. The track was not that big but just as fun and thrilling, even the wife enjoyed it. They also had an indoor skiing slope and ice slides as well as an aquarium, which have all just been opened in the past few years. We can only imagine how tiring we'll get if the kids were here with us. We took a stroll in the greenery that surrounds the entire Mission Hills at dusk. It's just nice to get away from the city and enjoy the sunset and the beauty of nature. It's now so easy to get here from HK with the MTR or high-speed rail. With the young ones being so active most of the time, weekend trips to Mission Hills may just become a regular thing for our household."

The entire team was incredibly kind, warm, and always willing to help and serve with genuine care. We also used the hotel’s private transfer service, which was excellent — comfortable, smooth, and perfectly organized. But what truly exceeded our expectations was the guided tour service. Our guide, Hickey, was absolutely fantastic: professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. He supported us during the entire experience and even accompanied us to the airport on his day off. He became a friend to our family, and we are very grateful. We highly recommend both the hotel and the overall experience. Just a couple of points to be aware of: • The summer heat can be intense, and it may affect the enjoyment of outdoor excursions. • English communication can be a bit challenging in some areas of the hotel, especially in the spa and kids club. - "When I got to my room, I was SO happy!  Baron Liu at the front desk was a gem and the room was delightful – on the first floor and right at pool level so my patio opened up to the pool and I could hop right in!  The bed, of course, was heavenly and the room was spacious and clean.  The staff at the Lobby Lounge were polite and accommodating and got to know me because of my daily coffee and snack visits.  The beach is clean and the beach chairs and towels numerous.  They have a small roped off swimming area on the beach. However, the pool was excellent, and I chose to stay there because it was nearly empty every day!  They have a small drinks/ice cream bar at the pool which was nice for refreshments.  The nightly buffet on the lawn was good but got a bit old after 3 nights.  Perhaps changing up the variety of food would make it more attractive.  They have a western restaurant and of course, the Lobby Lounge.  They also have two Chinese restaurants that catered more to families/big groups – not great for a solo traveler.  For such a huge resort, I would expect more food options.  My favorite part of my trip was my visit to the Heavenly Spa where Amy Long took amazing care of me!  I highly recommend this hotel and plan on visiting again! - "This is my second time here. Great breakfast buffet! So many options, my family enjoyed a lot. Hotel is a bit old… I need to push super hard to close my room door. I booked a private pool room but the pool doesn’t look clean… Overall the experience was good because of the breakfast but prob wont come back again unless they renovate or have new activities going around." - "Beautiful property, use of water- pools, fountains, overflows- particularly well presented and contributes to an atmosphere of calm. - "Property is quiet and generally nice. It just didn’t feel as special as I would have expected. We stayed at a Renaissance here four years ago and overall I felt the service and attention to detail there was much better than the Begonia, even though the Begonia is more expensive and considered more luxury. The resort is so quiet and peaceful! Perhaps our best experience at this hotel was the quality of service, specifically our interactions with the hotel employees. They were very polite, kind and helpful. We certainly didn't want to leave. The only misgiving we had was the overall health of the surrounding area, which is impoverished. We were definitely looking for a eco-friendly getaway from Shanghai where we work and this location fit the bill based on the hotel's own description of the area. It is described as being pristine tropcial rainforest, but this area is more subtropical and there isn't too many pristine areas to be observed. Yes, the Lancang River (Mekong) runs right by the hotel, but we saw some trash floating down it and litter along the shoreline. Mengla Town right next door is also not a very clean town and much of the area is agricultural land and not pristine rainforest. That said, the Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden is well worth the visit. It's huge and beautiful and right by the hotel. Despite the few misgivings we had, we would definitely visit again if the chance arises."
