But better than anything was the actual house, with the view of Arenal volcano, that just takes your breath away. So quiet up on the mountain, away from cars and the tourist area. The property, with it's own private hot tub, rain shower and full stocked kitchen made it hard to leave. We fully enjoyed every moment at Jade and did not want to leave. So lovely to be able to hear all the jungle noises during the night through the netted windows as this is an eco-resort run by micro-hydro and solar, so there’s no aircon (or fridge/hair-dryer) but enough power to run a ceiling fan and lights at night. What gives this resort its charm is the incredible ability of all the staff to immediately make you feel part of their family (special thanks to Glenda, Heylin, Mar and Felipe who all went the extra mile and are just charming). That and the many residents who’ve been coming back for years – who we got to know over Tico Sour cocktails at 6pm and the communal dinner (signalled at 7pm by a conch shell horn."

There were a few items where the quality of the craftmanship was less than ideal. For example, the kitchen sink did not drain water (without debris) properly and there was a bathroom fixture that was loose. One other minor issue, even though the area is up on a hill with a beautiful view, you can hear an ample amount of road noise from cars and trucks. Even with those minor issues, the place was one that I would highly recommend to future guests."

- "Yens and Patrick, the proprietors of Drake Bay Getaway have created a beautiful oasis that is near paradise. From their warm and generosity upon arrival to the commitment to our comfort and happiness, they were ceaselessly attentive to all our needs. The walk to and from the cabin (Bromeliad) surrounded us with spectacular beauty with lush green and the rich blue ocean surrounding us. The cabins are simple and perfect, with breathtaking views of the ocean from our terrace. A massage arranged by Yens and Patrick by Susana on our terrace was deeply rejuvenating. She has magic hands. And the meals provided by them fit the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings with their simplicity and creativity. We took a nighttime frog/bug tour in the jungle led by Armando and his wife that was exotic and wild. I give the highest recommendation for the luscious beauty and sincerest hospitality of Yens and Patrick and their establishment. The only downside is that I didn’t spend 2 weeks there instead of 2 days!"

The house is located in San Isidro (Vasquez de Coronado), 30 minutes from San José, in a quiet and safe neighborhood with access to grocery stores where it is possible to pay by card and a vegetable store less than 100 meters away.

The space
Cozy space, where we live 2 people and a friendly and polite dog named Odin, The house has a garage and an internal garden to enjoy while having a snack or reading a book, there are also places like dairies or farms nearby to enjoy as well as mountains to make trekking.

The space
Casa Paz y Flora is a guesthouse that currently has people from Costa Rica, Venezuela and the United States.
The house's arquitecture blends the costarican traditional style with european influences. The first floor is dedicated to common areas for guests and residents while the private rooms are on the second floor.
We have a vegetalbe garden with herbs, fruits an veggies that we like to eat and sometime share with guests if the season allows for it. We also have lawn areas for outdoor activities with trees that give plenty of shade.
The house has fast internet and good work spaces but our recommendation is to swing on a hammock during the dry season and just relax

In addition to the private room we offer 2 living rooms with library, 3 public bathrooms, kitchen, laundry area, green area with trees, garden and parking.

In the property there are 3 apartments; in one of them I live with my dogs, there is no direct contact with them but they are always 😊

This german neighbourhood Rohrmoser is really peaceful, safe and close to everything like the american embassy& Humboldt Highschool, a lot of very important embassies and institutions and close to the center of San Jose. If you take an Uber you be very easy where you wanna go. the house is very big and has 2 areas with the rooms you are seeing at the pictures. each one share a bathroom with another one. You will have one of them. All rooms feature great beds+ a working space area with good WIFI

In your room you have a basket for your dirty closes and we will do the laundry for you and bring it dryed and folded back to you. Only the employees manage the washer and dryer. if you want to iron you are welcome to do this in the laundry room
