- "Our family of 5 (3 generations) spent a week at the Parador after Christmas. It was more than I usually spend, but so worth it. The rooms and grounds were beautiful and the staff was so helpful and competent. We took advantage of several guided nature tours as well as a Mercado tour in nearby Quepos. We were immersed in the natural beauty of the rainforest. The main dining room offered delicious options with a breakfast buffet included in our room price. The hotel put on a delightful New Year’s Eve party with live music, dance performers and a huge buffet -again, included with our room price. - "The place is very beautiful and the service is great. All the staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home. I want to give the special shut out to the manager Rosa who went an extra mile to offer us freshly cut aloe juice from their garden when she saw that we got sun burned on the beach (it works great when it’s fresh!). It’s also a great place for surfing lessons. The only minor improvement I would make is the quality of pillows in the rooms which weren’t the greatest. - "Gorgeous and clean " - "Our stay at the Lapazul Hotel was beyond amazing! We spent the first half of our trip in other towns and hotels, and when we got to Lapazul, we were filled with joy. It was the luxury of a Four Seasons with a family atmosphere, one in which you received individual attention and care, all at a reasonable price. Jorge (George) and Geovanny absolutely made our stay! They took care of every little detail — they helped arrange our sightseeing tours and gave us local recommendations for surfing lessons and quiet beaches, served us meals outside of kitchen hours to accommodate our schedules (…or lack thereof!), and helped us with the little things that came up (printing something out, accessing medicine, etc). They were super engaged through our trip and we were captivated by conversations about their travels, their daily life in Costa Rica, their discussion of Central/South American history, and even their help figuring out if our roofing contract back home was fairly priced (because of one of their backgrounds for 20 years in the roofing business!). We left in a hurry and when they let us know that we forgot one of our electronic devices in the room, they offered to drive 20 minutes down the hill to bring it to us themselves. and consistently, we found that we were able to contact the hotel within a minute of Whatsapp messaging them. The attention to detail — unmatched!! And the view is just unreal. You definitely need a 4x4 to get up the hill, but the view is WORTH it!"

- "Wow! My wife and I stayed here right after they opened, and we were so impressed. First, it's LUX. I've never experienced anything like it in Costa Rica. Everything is high-end, and no detail was spared when they built and appointed this place. The rooms are beautiful with the custom wood and stone work, the furnishings are mostly imported from Bali and it sets a great vibe. The beds are super comfortable (and bonus for the pillows, my wife has already purchased the same for our home in LA. With the imported linens, plush towels, high-end appliances (each room is a two-bedroom suite with a fully stocked kitchen), and decor - the rooms are just impressive. We stayed in a ground-floor suite with a barrel sauna and cold plunge - it was amazing to have the cold plunge in hot and humid Costa Rica! The huge patio area also had an outdoor grill and smoker! The rooftop pool and bar are chic yet comfortable, with plenty of space to lounge or work. I'm a coffee/espresso snob and I was pleased, they have great setup and great barista. It's cool to be in the treetops while lounging by the pool or working (excellent WiFi). The staff was friendly (as is the norm in Costa Rica; Tico's are the best!) and helpful. Cesar made reservations for us at El Coyol and was always a text away for anything we needed. Becca was also great. Best of all - Silvestre is just steps from the beach with one of the best surf breaks in the world. Nosara is amazing, and you cannot go wrong staying here."

It is very easy to reach Turrialba as there are hourly buses to and from San Jose and others coming in from the Caribbean coast via Limon and Siquirres. From San Jose it’s around a 3 hour bus ride. We are a small 6 unit hotel with very peaceful atmosphere in the beautiful and quiet south area of Jaco. Relax in the renewed swimming pool, grab your surfboard or bike and go for a ride just in front of the door. Make friends while cooking in the shared kitchen, or read a book under the pergola.
