- "The stay was very enjoyable and relaxing. Most descriptions were adequate and we found what we expected. Some problems with the water supply were promptly repaired after we informed the owner (Thanks to him - overcoming some language barriers!). The only aspect which was less ideal was the description of the way to get there. The description could be improved as we arrived late in the dark and therefore pathfinding was a bit confusing. It should be mentioned that the streets are not paved at the end and a bit rough. Otherwise, we had a good time accompanied occasionally by goats, friendly dogs and cows."

- "Lovely accommodations..wonderful hosts..great view over Lake Como and a great restaurant..just a short walk up the hill...Grotto di Pino..it an incredible view as well." - "Very nice clean place in beautiful location. Small but upscale. We enjoyed our 4 nights there very much. Seems quite luxurious for the size and all the amenities were there with a nice feeling of privacy. It was a big help that there was a washer/dryer. The only two things I can call drawbacks wouldn't even matter for most people. It's more like a studio than a one bedroom as there is no door between the kitchen and bedroom areas. My wife is a light sleeper so I couldn't make coffee or breakfast without the light or noise waking her. Also, the walking path to the entrance is up a small grass hill that would be no problem for most people, but my wife has a bad knee and hill was a small issue for her. All in all though I can highly recommend the place for a single person or couple looking for a place at Lake Como. Very private, relaxing, clean, well appointed, and nicely decorated. The neighborhood felt very safe and was close enough to everything we came to Varenna for. Having a garage to park in was also very nice."

- "We loved the location of the home and the service that the property management company (Varenna Holidays) provided. There were spots in the home that were not clean when we arrived, such as the side table in the living room and a spot on the floor of the bathroom. The company also likes to make you pay for any little extra thing (such as washing machine fluid, paper towels, any extra cleaning supplies), which is disheartening considering how much we are paying to stay there. One other thing we did was spend extra for the breakfast package, which was... extremely bad value and would not recommend, Overall the stay was good, but some minor things could have made it excellent."

- "Loved it and can’t wait to return! The view is gorgeous—amazing sunsets and, in the morning, Varenna is lit up by the sun. The patio is also right next to an old waterfall/fountain ruin type of thing that is lit up at night and it’s stunning. The inside of the apartment is also fantastic and we loved the very large bathtub and the rain shower heads. A few things to know—it IS the penthouse so there are quite a bit of outside stairs to get to the apartment. It wasn’t really a problem for us but it might be tough for other guests. We had a car which was great as it allowed us to get groceries (there didn’t seem to be any nearby markets) and check out Bellano (which we loved) and the Castello Di Vezio (which was also great and our 6 year old particularly enjoyed) but the apartment is also close enough to Varenna that you can just walk into town (about a 20 minute hike either along the road which at points feels slightly treacherous or along the greenway which is a bit more up and down -and beautiful—but not near cars). When we were there it was in the upper 70s and low 80s and the apartment did get hot especially since it faces the sun for most of the day. The sleeping loft gets quite warm although there are two fans which helps and the downstairs bedroom does stay a bit cooler. But everywhere in town was hot—it’s just that time of year— and the ability to escape the crowds and everything else made this an absolutely amazing stay. The Varenna team was also really responsive! "
