BE OUR GUEST

Let us deal with the hassle while you unwind. In addition to chef services, our concierge can arrange for your fridge to be stocked upon arrival. Spend time on the dual level outdoor deck providing a private, relaxing space to breathe in the fresh mountain air and take in the unbelievable panoramic view of Lake Tahoe.

A word about Air Conditioning:
While folks from Nor Cal will understand, most people new to Tahoe will be surprised to find that most homes do not have A/C. How could a home in 2022 not have A/C?? Good question, but this is Tahoe.. nature’s air conditioning turns on every day from about 5pm onwards (and in until 10AM). We suggest opening windows close to 10 or 11am, and leaving them open until bed time. Even on warm summer days, the breeze from the lake and mountains will not only fill the home with the sweetest smelling fresh air, but will cool off the house quickly by dinner time.

You have full and total access of our home during your stay. Feel free to stream any of your subscriptions on our Smart TV, make a home cooked meal for your family in our fully stocked chef's kitchen, or jump in your car and head out to the South Shore for shopping or an epic view on the Gondola at Heavenly.

If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP. Although there is not staff on site like a hotel, we do have our team in the area that can help.

Alpenglow Aerie is located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoma, California. Nestled in the woods high on the mountainside, you will have access to one of the most majestic views on earth.

-Quiet and peaceful neighborhood in the woods
~10 minutes from Emerald Bay, Vikingsholm, Homewood Ski Resort, West Shore Cafe and Chambers landing
~30 minutes away from epic skiing at Palisades and Heavenly Ski Resorts and Truckee River Rafting
- 1 hour from the Reno Airport

One of the reasons you might be coming to the mountains is to escape the hustle and bustle of city living. That being said, the secluded nature of Alpenglow Aerie means that you will be relying on your own private transportation to get from place to place. In the summer months just about any car will do, but you will definitely want a four wheel drive in the winter. Don’t rely on the standard car rental companies to make sure you get a quality car. Let our concierge book you a luxury vehicle that will be waiting for you curbside at the airport when you arrive. We can also arrange for a private shuttle bus for larger groups.

There is a keyless entry lock to the home which a code will be provided to you after you book with us.

You will have access to our digital guidebook and house manual so you can enjoy a stress free stay with us at the cabin.

We are pet friendly! Please reach out to us directly to discuss price and availability.

Please be advised that certain amenities are subject to seasonal availability due to weather conditions. These amenities—including but not limited to BBQ grills, outdoor seating, fire tables, beach chairs, snow sleds, ice melt, and similar features—are dependent on weather and operational considerations (e.g. often not available at stores during transitional seasons). Availability may vary based on seasonal factors. If you have any questions regarding the readiness of amenities during transitional seasons, please feel free to contact us. Summer street parking is permissible. Additionally, we kindly request no parking in front of the bear box designated for garbage disposal.

We kindly remind guests to always arm the wires from the evening until the morning. - "Great location and a lovely cabin. We will rent it again." - "Had a great in Lake Tahoe. This cabin is on the California side. We found it to be the perfect location. We were able to get to the North or South Shore for activities. An example is making it to Emerald Bay in about 15 minutes to watch the sun rise. The cabin itself was great. Tracy called the day before we got there and gave us the lay of the land. She really helped us understand bear etiquette. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. A very nice outdoor area to spend time. They also had a number of games that our family enjoyed. Would love to stay here next time we are in the Lake Tahoe area."

Ski Chalet
Tahoma, California, USA

Enjoy your Lake Tahoe vacation in the comfort of this large family home! Our chalet was completed in January of 2013.

It is within walking distance to the private homeowners’ beach (available to renters), pier, market, casual dining, park for children, and Chamber’s Landing. Also close by are Sugar Pine Point State Park, Meeks Bay, and Emerald Bay, which offer access to trails and the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe. - "We traveled with kids (ages 2 and 6). We had a wonderful stay. The house was very clean and cozy. They had all the amenities imaginable and much more, including a high chair and plates/ cups, books, puzzles for our toddler, which was a nice surprise. The house feels very private, there is a good space between the neighboring houses and you don’t feel like your neighbor is staring at your through the window (unlike other houses in Tahoma). The only small improvement for us would be a fence in the backyard, so that’s the little ones don’t run away. We had to chase our 2 year old quiet a lot:) The hosts were very responsive and even mailed us a children’s book that we accidentally left behind- thank you!"

Lake front chalet-incredible view, sleeps 12!
Ski Chalet
Homewood, California, USA

Yes, you did! If you’re looking for the perfect little spot on the Lake for your next family vacation, you’ve just found it! This charming Lakefront chalet is fully stocked and can easily accommodate three families. It sleeps 12 people comfortably on two floors. It has an open living area with a cozy fireplace, an updated kitchen with an island, and everything you'll need for your stay: refrigerator, gas range and oven, coffee maker, espresso machine, coffee grinder, toaster, microwave, waffle maker, pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishes, and silverware. You'll have your own private beach with pier access to enjoy during the summer months. It’s an ideal ski/snowboard chalet during the winter, located just north of Homewood Ski Resort – the best kept secret among local skiers.

OLYMPIC HISTORY: This beach house was the official residence of the Swedish Olympic Ski Team during the 1960 Olympic Games. A memorial plaque is proudly posted near the kitchen. My parents came from Greece, birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, it warms my heart to share this with you! ♥

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: This adorable beach house is located in a great spot on the west shore of Lake Tahoe – “west shore, best shore” is what the locals say. The deck is perfect for spectacular views of the big blue Lake. Yes, that’s Nevada across the water to the east, and you’ll watch dazzling shows in the morning and the evening as you enjoy both the sun and the moon gloriously rising for your viewing pleasure from the front deck or large windows. In the evening, the sky and the Lake turn pink – that’s the time to take your photos out on the deck, on the beach, or on the pier! When you look south, you’ll see the ski paths at Heavenly Ski Resort, and to the north you’ll see Kings Beach and Incline Village. Keep your eyes open in the evening, as we are often treated to random fireworks at various points around the Lake at any given time! During 4th of July, hit the pier early with beach chairs, jackets, and flashlights – you’ll be treated to at least 5 different fireworks shows happening all around the Lake – what a treat!

PRIVATE BEACH, SHARED PIER, BIKE/FOOT PATH: Right across the street is the private beach that is part of this property. We have a couple of beach chairs for you, and you might want to bring your water shoes. Tahoe City has plenty of beach gear options for you if you forgot to pack something. You’ll see the bike/foot path that runs parallel to the street on the Lake side – either way you take on this path is a stunning, refreshing, and exhilarating excursion. This home is located 3.75 miles south of Tahoe City where restaurants, shopping, the movie theater, and other activities can be found. And Obexer’s Marina is 2.5 miles south where you can launch your boat or rent sailboats and jet skis. While we have a few of bicycles for you to enjoy (1 adult, 2 kid), if that’s not enough, the Olympic Bike Shop in Tahoe City and West Shore Sports in Homewood both have rentals of all kinds – call ahead, bring your helmets. You’ll have access to the shared HOA Skyland pier which is locked and gated for you and your guests to soak up the sun, snap amazing photos, or jump in the lake.

INSIDE THE BEACH HOUSE: Every bedroom has a view of the Lake. As you enter the beach house, you’ll be greeted by the dining area on your left, the living room on your right, and the newly remodeled kitchen in front of you. Next to the kitchen is a bathroom, and just past it you’ll find the only bedroom located downstairs with a queen bed. Up the stairs on the right you’ll find 2 bedrooms. The first bedroom has a full-sized bed, and this room connects to another bedroom we call “the submarine” with 4 twin beds. The submarine is a favorite with the kids. The 2 bottom beds pull out and create a fun little cozy cave-like spot all the kids enjoy! At the top of the stairs is a bathroom. Up the stairs and to the left you’ll find 2 more bedrooms - the main bedroom and a sunlit room with 2 twin beds. The beautiful main bedroom has a queen bed, 3 large, picture windows, its own large bathroom, and a walk-in closet.

There is wireless Internet for you in this home.
Your pets are welcome with prior written approval at $50/night per-pet fee.
The circular driveway can accommodate 4 cars, depending on the size.
Be sure to empty your car completely – do not leave any food wrappers inside. The bears will break into your car for your delicious trash.

Plan to layer your clothes. It can be very warm during the day and chilly at night. Water bottles are a must, it’s easy to get dehydrated. The closest ER is 18 miles north in Truckee.

Please know that highways, access roads, and our driveway can be steep, which is common in the mountainous Lake Tahoe area and can be icy in the winter. In order to ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th your vehicle must be in excellent operating condition. Check your brakes, windshield wipers & fluid, defroster, heater, and exhaust system. Your tires need to be properly inflated, and the tread must be in great shape. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle - unless you have a 4WD vehicle with snow-tires. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You can find winter driving guidance from the CHP here: https://www.chp.ca.gov/programs-services/services-information/winter-driving-tips

We practice Covid cleaning precautions before you arrive. Some road noise should be expected.

CAUTION: Our home is on West Lake Blvd. which is the main road running along the West Shore. Please exercise extreme caution with your pets and small children. We have gates on the deck, be sure to keep them closed when small children and pets are out there with you. Even the most well-behaved dogs can be tempted to run across the street to greet other dogs on the bike/foot path.

- "We had an amazing time in West Tahoe with family. The location was perfect. There was plenty of room for my family. ( 7 adults and pups) The views were breathtaking! The "open concept " was perfect to gather. The deck had ample room for all of us to sit with our morning coffee and enjoy the lake view. The walking path is right across the street that leads through trees and visit creeks in the area. The beach right across was perfect for swimming and kayaking. We spent many days there. We didn't use the dock but it is easily accessible. It is a quiet relaxing location. Can't say enough about our wonderful stay! The host was amazing. She corresponded quickly and made us feel at home! Can't wait to go back!"

- "My family booked this trip very last minute and couldn't have been happier with the place. It was a great location, very clean, and lots of space. We will definitely be booking the place again." - "Great place and location for family." - "My wife, two kids, and I got lucky to book this place for four nights late July/early August. It was perfect. It comes with access to a private dock and beach and is in a special neighborhood that is just a couple of blocks by a few blocks on the lake-side of Highway 89. Great, special location. The home is well-appointed with kitchen items, TVs, and a great old-school Kenwood receiver. Everything was clean and comfortable. The owners clearly care and maintain the place. West shore Lake Tahoe is idyllic. Quieter, cooler in the evenings, and prettier than South and North shore, in my opinion. Close to some cool local markets and dining, and just 12-15 minutes from a couple of major supermarkets and larger restaurants in Tahoe City. We'll definitely come back! Loved the location, home, and appreciated the friendly, thoughtful hosts."

- "This cabin is old school Tahoe - don't think owners have put a buck fifty into updates since the 1800's.......but chambers location is outstanding - great street in the flats and easy walk to beach and club. The old gal has charm, space and location going for her but don't look for any 21st century amenities (read internet and barely tv) but we had a great long weekend stay." - "We had a great early summer week here with our kids. Liked the open areas of this house, light and views - having the kids downstairs was nice with the large master upstairs. Carpets and all fresh and clean. Lots of deck space around the house. Kids loved the sandy beach at Chamberlands. Good location - we liked Tahoe City, Sunnyside, Emerald Bay and South Lake Tahoe (around half hour). We like to hike and we would recommend for short day hike the entrance by Meeks Bay going up to a few lakes in the national forest. Meeks Bay also great with kids. Recommend Tahoma market around the corner for groceries/coffee/sandwiches - Sunnyside for lunch/dinner overlooking the boats and water. Plan on coming back and thanks for a nice place!"
