- "Perfect little home for a getaway! Comfortable beds and clean home. Will rent again " - "We absolutely loved the large enclosed yard for the dogs. The house did get a little hot but we went swimming and cooled off. We opened windows at night including the downstairs door - we put our dog kennels in the doorway to keep out any animals. We would close up by 1000 in the morning. The upstairs AC’s were kept on at 70 degrees and the cool air “sank” down into living room. We used the swamp cooler for only 1 week. The rest of the month was comfortable for us. The neighbors were awesome, very friendly. We walked to the public beach several times to swim. We fished several different lakes & had a blast! Some days were busts but we ate everything we caught. We would definitely stay here again! There is a problem with the dryer…it leaves small brown/orange streaks on some parts of your wash. A repairman did come and change out the seal but that didn’t help."

Newly fitted out - a partner property to CASA MOONLIGHT (VRBO Listing 374629) and CASA FARELLONES Ski Chalet in the Andes (VRBO Listing #95623)
Luxurious ski out rental home apartment and ski lodge in Big Sky. Full home comforts in a relaxed and spacious ski chalet set in the Rocky Mountains, just one hour drive from Bozeman, Montana.
Located on a warm southern facing slope on the lower slopes of the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on three sides, Casa Big Sky is three minutes on skis (on groomed ski trail passing right through our property) from the White Otter lift which accesses the Big Sky base area and the mountain beyond. You can ski back to just below Casa Big Sky (and walk the final 250 yards on the road) from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas - or take the Cascade lift and then approach the home directly from behind.
Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available.
Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.
Casa Big Sky is a recently built two story private chalet with total built area of approximately 4,000 square feet set in the Cascade subdivision of the Mountain Village of Big Sky , commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area.
The owners, who divide their time between Chile, Thailand and Montana, use the upper floor primarily during the ski season. The lower floor, which can be closed off from the main house as a self contained apartment, is available for rent at most times of the year.
Getting around the mountains (winter)
There are two primary ski areas in the immediate vicinity of Casa Big Sky (Big Sky and Moonlight Basin - now combined into one super resort - the largest in the USA). Connected to Big Sky, there is also a third ski resort, the Yellowstone Club - but this is a private facility and access there is by invitation only.
Big Sky ski area - can be directly accessed from Casa Big Sky. Put your skis on at the front door, take a diagonal traverse across the garden, and pick up on the groomed trail that runs right through the property and will take you down to the Cascade and While Otter ski lifts (about 3 minutes on skis). You can ride this lift in the morning without a ticket if you tell the lifty that you are heading to the ticket office at Big Sky. White Otter takes you across the back of the resort area and drops you just above the Big Sky base area - where the main lifts such as Swift Bear, Ram Charger and Explorer take you up to the Lone Peak and Andesite ski areas.
The other lift close by the house, Cascade is really only a real estate access lift - that you may chose to use when you return to Casa Big Sky, if you want to avoid the three minute walk on the more direct access.
You can return directly to Casa Big Sky from the top of Swift Bear, anywhere on Lone Peak or Challenger - or if you have crossed over to Moonlight, from the top of Six Shooter or Iron Horse.
There are several options on the route home, the two quickest end up at the Rising Bull Trail down to Rising Bull, which you will reach about 250 meters from Casa Big Sky. From there you will have to leave the groomed trail and walk (some do it with skis) the short distance up to the house.
A longer route which involves taking one more lift (Cascade) allows you to approach the home from behind on the ski trail that leads right though our property without the need to walk.
You will find detailed descriptions of these routes in the house - and I would encourage you to discuss the options directly with me when you are here.
If you are a complete ski novice, or are at a very low level of fitness, you might find the relatively gently ski trails (not ski pistes) that access Casa Big Sky more than you are comfortable with. If this proves the case, I recommend taking a three minute drive to the Moonlight Lodge or the deserted Pony Express lift car park (ten steps from car to lift) and starting your day there.
Moonlight Basin - interconnects with Big Sky - and can also be accessed by a three minute drive - either up to the main Moonlight Lodge or from the Madison Lodge (there is a much larger parking area here) - just over the shoulder of the mountain.

Glacier Ridge Chalet is a two story style home, built on an acreage on Hudson's Bay Divide Ridge overlooking St. Mary Lake. The chalet is positioned on a scenic overlook point on land settled by Jack Wagner in early 1900’s and is based on a private 180 acre land parcel.
This home is one of the most unique hand crafted dwellings in the Babb/St. Mary area. Amazing local wildlife that will make it feel like your own private zoo. The highlight is a hot tub with a 270° view of Glacier Park, the Rockies and Chief Mountain and dark sky for star gazing and contemplation.
The area is a wildlife corridor with elk, deer, moose, horses, and bear frequently observed right outside your door, from the hot tub or the over-sized fire pit area. This is a great venue for a peaceful vacation or for multiple families to connect.
The Glacier Ridge chalet has 3 rooms that can sleep 8. The downstairs bedrooms have twin bunks over the lower queen beds. The chalet is child friendly and situated completely off leash. There is a sofa and air mattress which sleeps 2 more.
The upstairs area is handcrafted wood with ample seating for all guests with 300° of window expanse that allows viewing of the entire Babb/St. Mary area. There is a small upper deck for animal viewing and star gazing. The chalet is located in a Dark Sky zone allowing for incredible start gazing and occasional viewing of the Northern Lights to the North in late summer through the fall.
Glacier Ridge is 1 km down a private road from the renowned Duck Lake Lodge. The lodge offers a full restaurant, pizza oven and road house bar with local entertainment a few nights during the week. Glacier Ridge is located 5 km outside of Babb and 12 km outside of St. Mary. Cellular coverage is by both Verizon, Rogers and limited AT&T networks.
The Chalet is on the West side of Divide Ridge and overlooks the West Rockies. Spectacular Sunset viewing location.
- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is like a luxurious log cabin, the pictures don’t do it justice. Clean, modern, and comfortable with magnificent views. Loved the hot tub especially after a cold rainy horseback trail ride. Definitely get groceries before checking in or make a 30 min drive to the nearest store. The only problem was I wish we had more time to stay there." - "This lovely and secluded property is located on a ridge with unobstructed stunning views of GNP - Chief mountain and peaks and valleys of Many Glacier and St Mary’s. Multiple fun spots to enjoy the magnificent vista - the rocking chairs on the porch, the viewing platform, the beautifully designed upstairs sitting area, and the hot tub! This home is inviting and immaculate with all the needed amenities and comforts - we cooked breakfast for 4 adults and 3 teens and returned home after hiking to grill steak dinner. It was really an easy process to book with Jon who responded immediately. We would love to return next summer and stay longer!"

Quiet and secluded, yet still close to the action (one mile from Glacier National Park), this lovely West Glacier chalet is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the unspoiled beauty of northwest Montana. The chalet has a deck with incredible views of the mountains and a BBQ grill. The high vaulted ceilings, granite counter tops, and stainless steel modern appliances make this vacation rental an ideal home-away-from-home, while being connected to Glacier Park via a bike path.
This chalet has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, one bathroom, a full kitchen and open dining area plus a loft. Washer and dryer are located downstairs.
1) Respect quiet hours between 9 pm and 8 am.
2) Please treat this like your home and keep floors, windows and counters clean throughout your stay.
3) No parties or events
4) Put nothing other than toilet paper in toilets...we have a very sensitive system that will backup if clogged.
5) No beer pong
6) No incense or candles please and thank you.
7) Parties or any event allowing more persons than those renting the house allowed only with written approval from homeowner and may come at an additional. No one outside of the people staying are allowed without prior approval, and no more than 2 vehicles allowed (unless specified). Sadly, several renters have used my house as a party place resulting in broken items, additional cleaning and outright disrespect. If you have plans for anyone else visiting, please inquire and provide details.

- "This is a great condo. We were very happy with our stay. In the picture it shows the back living area on the bottom floor to be very inviting and clean. The yellow cushions are actually quite worn, dirty and with mildew spots on them and are stacked in a pile. That would be a quick fix by the property owner, which I suggest doing. The stairs are steep, and would not be suitable for anybody with mobility issues. Otherwise, it was a great stay. Kitchen is well appointed. It was great having a washer and dryer. If you would like access to the swimming pool, or other common area, be sure and get an updated code with the on-site manager during office hours. We neglected that, even though it was described in the welcome email, and ended up not being able to visit on our last night."

You won't find the quality, the high-end finishes, the gorgeous balcony, the winding staircase and viewing turret, nor the beautiful windows that soar with spectacular breathtaking views at any other rental on the mountain.
The thoughtful design begins before you even walk in the front door, with a keypad-locked cabinet for your skis or snowboard conveniently located on the porch. As you enter the chalet, you’ll find the turret stairs and our welcoming entry area to your left, which has a native Ponderosa pine bench to let you put your ski boots on in comfort as well as shelves and cubbies to store all your gear. There’s a full bathroom to your right, for ease when you’re hustling in from the slopes.
As you continue into the chalet, the jaw-droppingly spectacular great room with a cathedral ceiling will unfold in front of you. With a beautiful gas fireplace graced with Montana Moss rock and a native Ponderosa pine mantle, the great room’s cozy ambiance also creates a toasty atmosphere throughout the chalet. And if after a long day of skiing or hiking you just need to relax a bit, you’ll find a large television with Netflix and Amazon. Suspended above the forest floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, you’ll feel like you’re living in the trees every moment of your stay.
Those trees are what will draw you outside, as you slide open the twelve-foot window wall and step out onto your 400 sq. ft. deck wrapping around the back of the chalet, high above the forest floor. With a Polywood table seating six and a quality Weber grill, you can cook and dine alfresco as much as you’d like. And when those aching muscles need a little love, your own private hot tub awaits you, perched high amongst the trees.
Returning inside, you’ll find the gourmet kitchen – a chef’s dream! – to the right. With a gourmet Bosch gas range, a convection oven with microwave, dishwasher, and french door refrigerator/freezer, you’ll have all the conveniences of home. The gorgeous Cambria Quartz countertops add the finishing touch for a jaw-dropping WOW factor. The chalet is stocked with place settings for 12, including Riedel wine glasses, as well as cooking essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, and spices. To help you get going in the morning, we have an easy to use coffee maker with a separate kettle for tea.
The dining island seats seven at mealtime and also functions as an additional prep area or workstation. With high-speed wifi throughout the chalet and plenty of outlets underneath the island countertop, you’ll be able to get things done and keep all your devices charged when you just can’t escape that pesky inbox.
Opposite the island, you’ll find the master bedroom. The comfy king bed, with a memory foam mattress and luxurious down comforter, is cantilevered out into a window area, so you’ll feel like you’re hanging from the treetops. You’ve got to see it to fully appreciate the amazing architecture! The master is divided from the great room by 3 floor-to-ceiling sliding barn doors that allow great flexibility. By day, leave the doors open for an even more open feel and by night, simply close them for privacy. The main level bathroom, complete with washer and dryer, is just around the corner.
The loft above, accessible via the turret staircase and open to the great room below, features a king and two twin beds and is perfect for small families as it has its own full bathroom as well. Every bed in the chalet has high thread count linens, a cozy bed warmer, a toasty down comforter and luxurious hypoallergenic pillows. We provide oversize bath sheet towels in each bathroom and for the hot tub.
From the loft you can take a ship’s ladder to the top of the turret – a favorite place to be. This cozy 8′ round room is perfect for viewing the slopes with its 7′ round Xorbee microfiber cushion. For a really killer experience, turn off the lights and enjoy the 600 fiber optic twinkle lights in the ceiling!
No matter what you’re feeling like, each chalet has something for everyone. In addition to the television in the great room and a Sonos system for music throughout the chalet, we have cards, some popular board games, and a small selection of books.
And when you’re ready to head out, you're located right on the slope at Whitefish Mountain Resort, so feel free to bring your own skis or snowboard during winter or your mountain bike during summer, to enjoy the miles and miles of mountain biking trails. You can also rent whatever equipment you need from one of the shops in the resort’s main village no matter the season. All resort amenities, summer, and winter are within easy walking/skiing distance. Just a few blocks away, you’ll find bars, restaurants, and shopping in the main village at Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort!

- "Wonderful!" - "Unbelievably beautiful and great location." - "Ponderosa treehouse at Snow Bear Chalets was the perfect place for our family. My husband and I enjoyed privacy sleeping on the main level and the kids LOVED the loft with a king, 2 twins, and the most amazing turret ever! This turret has something like 1000 fiber-optic stars forming twinkle-lit constellations on the ceiling- amazing! Our kids loved it! The kitchen was perfect and fully stocked for the two nights we cooked at "home". The mountain views were breathtaking, the hiking was fantastic, the beds were oh so comfy and the overall ambiance of the treehouse created such a great memory for our family. We're already looking at dates to return. Thank you Snow Bear Chalets for building such an amazing luxury treehouse! My recommendation- book this now! You'll be so happy that you did!"

- "Bonnie is an excellent host and she was always available for questions and a great communicator. MY family and I were blown away by her property. You can tell she spared no expense and paid attention to every detail in the house. The house has everything you need. The living room alone has the best view of the mountains and wildlife. That room alone is worth the price of admission. The home's proximity to Yellowstone's North entrance is a very short drive. The town of Gardiner is very charming. Bonnie is an excellent host and we would love to stay here again. Don't hesitate to book this property. You will not regret it."

The Copper Stack Chalet
Location, Location, Location….
Need time to reboot and recover? Copper Stack Chalet offers the serenity of a nearby creek, rippling against the rocks, set against the backdrop of a star-studded night sky. You’d imagine you were miles from civilization, but this ideal getaway is actually a centrally-located launch pad. It sits on 20+ acres located off the beautiful Mill Creek Hwy. Mill Creek runs through the property and so does a fair share of wildlife! However, if you need to get back to civilization, Anaconda, with its top-notch restaurant offerings, beautiful parks and the historic Washoe Theater, is a mere 7 miles away.
**JUST SOME OF THE POSSIBILITIES**
*5 miles to Anaconda Country Club golf course
*6 miles to the Jack Nicklaus designed Old Works Golf course
*8 miles to cross country skiing at Mount Haggin Nordic Ski area or to a multitude of
Mount Haggin’s snowmobile areas
*9 miles to Montana Zipline Adventures
*10 miles to Fairmont Hot Springs Resort
*19 miles to premiere blue-ribbon trout fishing on the Big Hole River
*23 miles to lake/ice fishing and boating at Georgetown Lake
*29 miles to downhill skiing at Discovery Ski Area
*28 miles to cross country skiing at the Echo Lake Trails Nordic ski area
* 25 miles to the city of Butte for additional restaurants, services and shopping, plus historical mining tours.
The Chalet…
Coming from the covered front porch through the front door, you will find a nice open living room and kitchen area. In the living room there is a full couch, love seat and wood stove stone hearth for seating. If you want to add some ambiance, light a fire in the Vermont Castings wood stove. The TV and soundbar setup make a fun movie night!
The fully appointed kitchen with an amazing slate tile backsplash boasts an electric glass top stove and oven with built in air fryer. The fridge and freezer will store all of your goodies and the microwave oven is there for quick reheating. The bar seats 4 people for eating and there are plenty countertops for entertaining.
The Chalet sleeps 7 people. The bedroom off the main floor sleeps three on an Amish built bunk bed with a full on the bottom and twin on the top. The windows have great views of the Mount Haggin wilderness area. Here you will also find a stacked full laundry setup in one of the closets. The second closet has some shelving and a place to hang your garments.
The ladder accessed loft area above the kitchen and bathroom sleeps 4 with a queen bed and two twin xl beds. There is also a stunning burnt wood slab desk area if you need to get some work done. We do have high speed wireless internet available.
In the bathroom you will find a nicely-tiled tub shower and a medium-sized vanity with decent storage. As with the rest of the chalet, the wood utilized throughout, from the dark stained fir and log walls to the blue pine ceiling, is beautiful.
Step outside of the covered front porch and follow the sidewalk to the firepit. This includes a grill setup if you want to do some outdoor cooking or just sit under the stars and enjoy the fire!
Other considerations…
**NOTE: Fairmont Golf Course is open to the public, however, the Fairmont Hot Springs pools are now only open to resort/campground guests and local members, not to the public.**
GUEST ACCESS: A vehicle is essential in this area as there is no public transportation or stores within 6 miles but we are just off the main road. For the most part, a front wheel drive vehicle is sufficient to get in and out of the property year-round, but there are a few snow storms that may necessitate an SUV or some type of 4 wheel drive vehicle to get the <½ mile back to Mill Creek Hwy (HWY 569). We will do our best to clear snow from the road.
NO PARTIES: We welcome guests to gather, but we are not set up for events beyond the guests being hosted. If you have a few local family or friends who would be visiting but not staying over, please contact us for pre-approval.
- "Beautiful property and cabin!" - "The location was perfect and close to Anaconda. The cabin was incredibly clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again if we come back through the area." - "The space was exactly what we needed for a wedding we attended! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. - "This is the real deal if you want to stay in Montana. Truly fabulous. The people who manage the ranch were very friendly. Two minor quibbles: 1)The communication process is a bit confusing. There is VRBO, then there is a property management company, and then I got asked to download an app for another service (Hospitality) (so 3 apps in total!). Reaching the person responsible can only be done (it appears) using a phone number which is not convenient when traveling abroad. 2) the check and check out times of 10:00 and 17:00 are silly. Luckily I was able to check in at 15:00 and I left around 11:30. If the times were stricly enforced I would think twice of using this service again."

We went fishing in the private pond and caught some of the biggest trout I’ve seen. The beds were very comfortable and very clean. Sharon and Dave are two of the kindest people I have ever met. - "Great place to stay near Glacier National Park. Apartment over a garage - private and easy to access. One other rental plus the owners on a large property. Host was wonderful with communicating. The cell service was really not enough to access the internet for us, so be sure to get the access instructions downloaded before you arrive. Columbia Falls is a great little community- a bit more low key than Whitefish, less tourist overrun than Hungry Horse or West Glacier. Highly recommend the Big Sky Waterpark right down the road if you have kids and the Bad Rock Books used book store downtown for readers."
